161  Economy / Speculation / Above $3000 before Aug1. on: July 28, 2017, 08:48:43 AM
Could be wrong, however I have a feeling we're going to be getting a head start on the runup past 3K ahead of August. Just based on the resistance to all the recent news/btc-e/mixer/etc and it's still testing the high 2 the closer we get.

Thoughts? And if it does go past 3 (say 3.25+), you think we'll be going straight to 4 in a semi-straight pump? (I kinda do)

Also right now on CMC it's one of the first times I've seen all the alts SO all over the board on the charts - aka NOT following the current BTC run.

This thread needs one of those "this thread is gold" memes.

Good job OP, love to read success stories/journals, keep growing.
163  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When to invest on btc and eth on: July 28, 2017, 08:23:51 AM
When to invest?

The correct answer is: Yesterday, everyday. If you plan to sit on it just buy and forget and don't watch charts it'll drive you crazy. If you're trying to daytrade your way to your millions then wait for a dip (if there is one after this aug1 stuff).
164  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Alt Coin Crash This Weekend? on: July 28, 2017, 08:16:39 AM
Nope. I don't think we'll see a crash. I think we'll see a non-event followed by a rush for both alts and btc.
165  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Reach $3,000 Next Week? on: July 28, 2017, 02:26:46 AM
I won't be surprised to see BTC go on a run upwards before Aug1 vs downwards. Everything is backwards in cryptoland Smiley. Personally I think Aug1 will be a non-event. Also happy to see that one exchange going down isn't killing prices like it used to back in the day.

Thanks, but  ^  if you read my post - they are not showing up because I had to start a new account and am still at newbie status as per the rules, they are all setup with the proper code/insertImage icon.. Once this account reaches JrMember they will show up..
167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt. Gox coins laundered through BTC-e (Breaking details) on: July 27, 2017, 04:44:14 AM
^ @Vishnu, I don't think so.

Back in the day, there was only a few exchanges, so when a big one went down it killed the BTC price (gox/cryptsy). Now there are so many exchanges, and more and more of them are doing things with compliance that btc-e volume isn't really that big anymore and the market doesn't take nearly as much of a hit when one goes down.

This was actually a big considering factor for me to get back into the crypto scene "once there are 20 or so exchanges things will be safer...". They still aren't 'safe' but as a market the price volatility isn't as easily affected anymore by one org.

I hope that is the case now. But the exchange rates are already down by around 5%, ever since BTC-e went offline. As the news about the arrest spreads, I think that it will go down even further. The mainstream media is going to pick up this story.

I think this compounds the Aug1 event a bit but glad this all happened before it not shortly after. This is the crypto world, expect the unexpected and often times things are backwards (aka I wouldn't be surprised if BTC shot up just before Aug1 vs shot down).

It's like the movie office space, he missed a decimal and got way too big for his own good.

Peter Gibbons: [Explaining the plan] Alright so when the sub routine compounds the interest is uses all these extra decimal places that just get rounded off. So we simplified the whole thing, we rounded them all down, drop the remainder into an account we opened.
Joanna: [Confused] So you're stealing?
Peter Gibbons: Ah no, you don't understand. It's very complicated. It's uh it's aggregate, so I'm talking about fractions of a penny here. And over time they add up to a lot.
Joanna: Oh okay. So you're gonna be making a lot of money, right?
Peter Gibbons: Yeah.
Joanna: Right. It's not yours?
Peter Gibbons: Well it becomes ours.
Joanna: How is that not stealing?
Peter Gibbons: [pauses] I don't think I'm explaining this very well.
Joanna: Okay.
Peter Gibbons: Um... the 7-11. You take a penny from the tray, right?
Joanna: From the cripple children?
Peter Gibbons: No that's the jar. I'm talking about the tray. You know the pennies that are for everybody?
Joanna: Oh for everybody. Okay.
Peter Gibbons: Well those are whole pennies, right? I'm just talking about fractions of a penny here. But we do it from a much bigger tray and we do it a couple a million times.

"If you could just.... launder this money..... thaaaat would be greeeeeaaaaat...."
170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make money in cryptocurrencies? on: July 26, 2017, 09:42:55 PM
10x returns is not impossible, but it would be beginners luck if you did achieve it.

Staying on top of ICO's and or being good at reading charts on mid-sized exchanges to know when a MM is pumping and cooking books and staying ahead of him on the dumps, could be a way to do it.

My best advice though: Buy some BTC with it and forget about it. Don't trade as a noob in full swings hoping to double/triple/10x unless you're prepared to lose it all in a few bad moves. < I mean this is how you learn to trade but if it's your savings account you'll stress yourself out and probably not retain much of said learning.

If you do start trading alts and riding pumps, do it with a small % (like 10%) so you can be ok with losing it should you make bad trades/bad timing etc.
171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So much bad news. When will it end ? on: July 26, 2017, 09:25:14 PM
"when there's blood in the streets"...

Bad news is still news, more awareness, ppl upping their security, and post-bad-news usually a nice pump happens. Sometimes it's best not to keep up with it - it's like TV reporting all the murders and fearmongering daily to condition you to be negative and anxious. Turn it off and come back in a few weeks to check on it you'll save yourself some premature gray hair Smiley. OR use the news to your advantage, buy more, get ready to sell some, whatever.

All this bad news and we still have almost a 100Billion MC, I think we're gucci.

173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC-e.com down ! Police detains the owner . on: July 26, 2017, 08:51:21 PM
Flashback for me - BTC-e was the first place I tried trading, I LOVED their order books they were lightning fast and always had volume. After taking a break from crypto and coming back to see all the new exchanges, btc-e's volume definitely dropped a lot compared to back then, so I don't think we're going to see a change in btc price if this does take them offline for good.
174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What were your experiences with Bitcoin when you first started? on: July 26, 2017, 08:45:07 PM
Started in 2013 when they were $80ish. Spent 25K or so on them, started learning to trade alts, started finding out how much of an addictive personality I have when trying to stop trading and can't for days because the markets never sleep.
175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people are asking you about Bitcoin now? on: July 26, 2017, 06:00:29 AM
Anyone I run into now and start up the "dude, you gotta get some BTC, like ASAP - been telling you for years and..."

I get met with "I know I know, you're like the third person to tell me this week, fuck is it too late? How do I do it again? $2500 each wut?"

It's still confusing to most, and they still don't know how to look at it (is it... an investment? Is it... currency? So how does it work with my money and how do I invest it, spend it, take my money back out, etc.??).

One thing is for sure though, they salivate and wish they listened to me years ago Smiley.

Hi gang,

My old handle "CryptoBoomer" got caught up in the breach years ago, and I can no longer log in. Sent emails to unlock it but it's crickets so I'm starting a new handle...

In short - I've been around since 2013, and crypto has absolutely BLESSED ME, twice. Most recently when all the alts went boom (thanks Asia). Anyway, I'm here to do a little show and tell and get involved with a few serious folks that are either about to start a big project, and or have already started but are either lost, need help, or are looking for the best of the best for team members. I've been down the ICO path many times now, developing assets, writing, networking, building relationships with exchanges, almost building my own, growing coins to huge marketcaps, etc.

I just put up a quick one page site to illustrate a lot of my work and involvement with past projects that sit big today. I come from a design+tech background so this world is a perfect fit for me. Ran an advertising agency for 12 years before doing my own product lines online and a few of them took off on me before crypto hit.

Anyway, here's my show+tell:

First case study is for EarthCoin:

Start with a logo, nice and simple:

Now let's add some life to it:

Ok let's make some actual coins:

Now let's make some more branding assets for various uses:

Wallet design V1

Some of our pre-ICO assets

 ------

Then we built out a website, which changed over time, each version getting better and better:
(unfortunately, over the years the team dispersed when everything crashed and no sites are online anymore)

Then came our ANNOUNCEMENT THREAD at BitCoinTalk.

Branding

These are basically graphical headers for each section, along with infographics making it look and read extremely professional.

How is it doing in 2017?

EARTHCOIN WENT MOOOOOON recently!
Those that HODL'd, did very well for themselves this year thanks to the power of Asia pumping the alts, and the rest of the world following suit.
The left side is the low/average for a few years, the right side is the most recent breakout.

How is that for a happy ending? Smiley

--------------

I didn't stop there though, I came close to launching an exchange, and still might...

Annnnnd, I even made a bot + platform back in the day for MTGOX

In my NOT so spare time, while watching charts, I decided to....
... take on a few challenges, contests, and help other coins brand themselves to keep my sword sharp....

"So, now what? How do I get ahold of you to take part in my stuff?"

First, I ONLY get involved in real projects, no shitcoins, no shady ICO's.
- and - Nobody that isn't prepared to bring me on as a partner.

I no longer do servicing for clients HOWEVER if you want to throw 10BTC+ at me - I just might take on a few more clients to top me up Wink.
I'm much more interested in helping you get your coin to a HUGE marketcap like I did with the others as a partner/consultant though... let's build.
I've been launching my own products online for the better part of 10 years in many verticals, and helping other businesses launch theirs for over 20.
I'm also already established pre-crypto so I'm doing this out of passion - and the 'more money' part is just a cool side effect of a powerful daily routine.
