The main purpose of airdrops is to hype up new coins and generating lead data base on users by making them fill registration forms in order to participate in the airdrops. To be fair you don't lose anything but at the same time in most cases you don't win anything

I think Ethereum and Litecoin will have a good future. Bitcoin is the best, we all know it, but we should also know that the development of Bitcoin prices is already very high and may look too high right now. The only altcoins that will realistically survive in the future are the ones that provide some sort of service in real life. The ones that are just a currency will fall because you don't need a million different currencies
