162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why the darkcoin/dash/dashpay instamine matters on: December 11, 2017, 02:39:37 AM
It's interesting because I've been dealing with people calling Chaincoin a scam since I got involved in the project back in July and up until recently I had no idea about the questionable origins of Dash... Perhaps there's a lot more to dig up from the past than I had originally thought.

I'm going to continue reading, thanks to everyone who has left plenty of breadcrumbs for future researchers to follow.

Just checked, my masternodes pay regularly.
But there are deviations in one masternode from the actual payments. He runs according to explorer normal, and there are also payments.
But not on my wallet.

Can you please link your masternode wallets from the block explorer?

CHCshit is dead  Grin Alan(suprnerd) left the community! P&D coin revealed  Grin

I did? You must be confused.

CHC is scam! Masternode rewards are low because some people are mining using old versions! CHC is real mess!
Alan left because he knows that! Maybe he was Roli? He wanted to keep the interest in CHC to sell most of his scam CHCs!!!

As I wrote in my CGP document, "regardless of the 'questionable' origins of this project" there are many people committed to turning things around and building on top of what we started with.

Just to clear up any further confusion: I left the discord because I don't like discord. That has nothing to do with my involvement in this project.

I don't think a new exchange will push the price long term, only development will push the price sustainable.

I totally agree with you! We have been going through the exact same issue for many months!

Dev, where is your team?

There is no new team, we still have our lead developer who is off somewhere in internet land. I believe he will be back at some point.

There are a handful of project contributors now, see https://www.chaincoin.org/contributors/ if you are interested.

If you were referring to specific people who will be working on specific roadmap items or code updates then like I mentioned above there is no new team therefore there are no new assignments - everything is the same as it's been for years. If you're referring to who will be implementing the ChainCoin Governance Protocol then I suggest you re-read the document since the developer in charge of the implementation is mentioned in there. In case you misplaced the link you can find the document here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/18cKtVIRiEtQXaUEogmoqMsmH1U3K5tjzRWwWuT-zaQo/edit

No one cares anymore about chaincoin,

I care, jaded history included.

ChainCoin Governance Protocol - Community Vote

In case you missed the previous announcements, the vote began on October 14 and will continue until November 4. The rules, instructions, and proposal link are all on our website at https://www.chaincoin.org/voting/

Quote
The ChainCoin Governance Protocol (CGP) consists of many core changes that will be implemented into the ChainCoin client with the goal of:
  • allowing a portion of the block reward to be dedicated to the development of ChainCoin;
  • allowing community members to submit development proposals that will be funded by the above portion of the block reward;
  • allowing masternode holders the ability to approve the above development proposals by a majority vote.
These core changes are a necessary step in order to provide a sustainable future for ChainCoin and the members of the ChainCoin Community. Furthermore, these changes must be made as soon as possible in order to provide the funding necessary for further development of ChainCoin, since at the moment all development is done solely by the unpaid members of the open-source community.

Barely 24 hours left to vote so if you haven't already then please vote now!!!
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Project Interzone - Blockchain Social Engine on: November 03, 2017, 04:40:37 AM
I'm thinking on investing in this project, it is so intersting  i think the constant commits in the repo are good signs

Are you a robot or something? Your post makes absolutely no sense to me. The last commit to the main codebase was 15 days ago and the single commit yesterday to the test codebase does not count as "constant".

See for yourself: https://github.com/projectinterzone/ITZ/commits/master
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [NEWBIE] RIG on a Budget on: November 02, 2017, 09:57:51 PM
Do you already have a desktop computer at home? If so then I would suggest just acquiring a new graphics card for it and trying out mining and getting a feel for it before investing in building a whole rig.

IMO it's important to have high quality power supply(s) and components with a warranty since you will be running the equipment non-stop for a while. You may get some life out of a second-hand power supply such as the one already in the system you mentioned purchasing, however it will most likely die on you at some point and then you will have to replace it which will add to the cost of your build. I think it's better to just start with a reasonable warrantied power supply and then at least if it burns you can replace it!

Also, I learned the hard way that if you're serious about keeping your rig going and earning the maximum you must have at least 1 spare power supply around so that if one suddenly pops on you it is immediately serviceable thereby reducing your down time. It sucks big time to lose weeks of mining time because you are waiting for a replacement power supply to come in.

174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What GPU to buy? on: November 02, 2017, 09:49:59 PM
I also suggest going with nVIDIA - and also choose a brand that has a good warranty if you plan on running the card all the time.

I would suggest that you buy whatever card has the features you want for gaming and then just enjoy the mining you get out of it when you are not gaming.. that's a great way to get started actually.
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN ][SCORE][POW][Scrypt] on: November 02, 2017, 03:47:11 PM
They are not doing this to mine the coins, power goes off instantly once diff is high enough so there must be other reasons. One option would be they want to stall the market, make people sell their coins at low prices, which they are at the moment, OR they already have plenty of coins and don't want new coins to dilute the existing pool of coins on the market. Either way, don't play their game and STOP SELLING YOUR COINS CHEAP !!!!!

I definitely agree with you regarding not selling your coins cheap that is just a recipe for disaster however I think it all comes down to whether or not you believe this project has a future or not... if you do believe it has a future then just relax and wait until it pays off - pretty simple I think.

Personally I took a gamble back when Score was trading for ~700SAT and I bought several thousand just before the original masternode release date. I checked in with the developer and unfortunately it turned out that the masternodes had not yet been implemented and right at that moment the developer notified people that masternodes were not going to happen and the price dumped right down to ~200SAT. I eyerolled and made a funny face but decided to hang in there a bit to see what the developer would do. Unfortunately after a month of constantly hoping the price would recover and finding no encouraging news from the developer I lost my faith and just decided to sell cheap - it sucked to lose some of my money but I figured at least I wasn't losing it all. Since then, the price has continued to drop (I just checked it's around 116SAT now) and there has been nothing but sad news from the developer.

Just for kicks I decided to check out the "masternode" code that had been uploaded to github and I was saddened by the fact that the latest commit would not even compile correctly. I can't speak for anyone else but I'm glad I'm out and I do not regret my decision at all - I'm fine with believing that this project does not have a bright future. I'm also fine with being proven wrong, and I wish Mark the best of luck with doing just that!
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Many AMD GPU's available. Are you still buying? on: November 02, 2017, 03:22:20 PM
The only thing we're buying is "open box" cards at microcenter.  These are cards that are returned as working from the manufacture, come with the full warranty, and are dirt cheap (ie.  we bought a 480 for 157.00 last week).  Other than that, I'm still waiting for prices to drop.

You guys are doing it right. While you are usually paying that, noobs are paying 300 usd plus hehe

I would have to agree with this - I think as long as you get the full warranty you are in good shape.

Thank you very much! now we have to wait nicehash
You are very nice people!!!  Cheesy

Confirmed, they should payout on Friday  Grin

Hopefully once the new upgrade is in place we will start to see some price action. We shall see.
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: WHY NEWBIES KEEP ASKING THE SAME QUESTION " ITS TO LATE TO START MINING ? on: November 01, 2017, 05:20:58 PM
I build rigs with these https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01IZP68RK/

Use cable ties to hold the gpu's in place and cut out some plyboard for the base.

One shelf unit can fit 6 rigs but I just use it for 4 rigs, it's not pretty and you won't pick up any chicks by showing them your rigs but it works and it's cheap.

I do the same thing! It's pretty amazing how many cards you can pack in to one of these.

WARNING TO NEW PEOPLE: Make sure you give your shelf plenty of space to access the rigs since once it's full of equipment is is VERY HEAVY and it's unlikely you will be able to move it without taking everything off the shelf first! Also worth mentioning that you should use a level to ensure that the shelf is nice and even (use the individually-adjustable feet to level it) which will prevent it from tipping over!

I'll just leave the warning there without mentioning *cough* *cough* my experience with the above...  Lips sealed
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Many AMD GPU's available. Are you still buying? on: November 01, 2017, 05:09:16 PM
This was all really interesting to read. I invested in nVIDIA hardware but was curious/interested to see what I could build with AMD especially since all graphics cards are very overpriced here in Canada.

Given that prices are coming down now, I may take a second look and maybe build a small 3-card rig just for fun.
