161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cairnsmore5 Pre-Order on: November 14, 2018, 08:12:04 PM
Any performance statistics for the initial algorithms?
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: $200 Daily | 200k Sols | Centralized? - AsicMiner.Co Zeon Equihash Miner Review on: November 14, 2018, 08:10:45 PM
You have the device in your hands, I'm sure given some work you could disable their remote access and get it to mine again (if those chips are indeed real). Granted, it's only like $45/day right now, but still ...
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptonightv7 vs Cryptonightv8 on: November 14, 2018, 06:19:52 PM
Returns are affected as I am receiving lower reward but the consumption is the same so far. Even the temperatures are the same but this could be to weather becoming cooler and colder each day. I wonder if this algorithm will be optimized with the time passing by ?
The algorithm is being intentionally de-optimized, to avoid ASICs.

Dead of half miner chain 3 of Dayun Z1
WTF Dayun

https://i.imgur.com/RC6r7Lr.png

The word 'chain' is literal, if ASIC 20 is completely failed the ASICs following it will not respond either.

Unstable. Look up other ASIC alternatives. Like Inno A9 zmaster or Antminer Z9.

It's not the same algorithm.
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: DaYun ZigMiner (a.k.a PinIdea) on: November 13, 2018, 06:42:27 PM
ZigMiner D1 appears to be same chips as the PinIdea DR-100, efficiency is the same. Again, just old private stock being sold now that it is useless.

if you have to pay for a firmware its 99% scam
Usually, yes, but there is that 1% option, and in this case it is true. The BK-X can do Groestl as well as Keccak, and can be overclocked (although not very much / it is unstable and I don't recommend it)
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptonightv7 vs Cryptonightv8 on: November 13, 2018, 06:18:30 PM
The new algorithm changes introduce several steps that aren't efficiently processed - you will either see a reduction in hashrate, an increase in your power usage & thermal output, or both. This is completely normal and expected - all miners are subject to the same changes, so despite having a lower hashrate, returns shouldn't really be affected.

Mining is dead.

Is it the 48 exahash of BTC mining power that is telling you its dead?

Is bitmain deploying 90,000 S9s because mining is dead?

Willful ignorance is not a good look.

There has been a big drop in hashrate lately. I would not say mining is dead, but many farms riding the edge of profitability are shutting down.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dayun Zig Z1 - Lyra2Rev2 6.8GH/s Asic miner on: November 13, 2018, 06:13:32 PM
It will be interesting to see if they hold true to their word on not selling more Z1/+. If they do, good for them for being a responsible manufacturer - more vendors should take this path.
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How do I start mining on a Raspberry Pi 3? on: November 10, 2018, 01:34:12 AM

Just go buy some ASICs or GPUs. Forget the RPI.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: LTC Diff - Best Share. on: November 10, 2018, 01:32:54 AM
scrypt diff reported from cgminer (in L3 frontend) is several orders of magnitude higher than nethash.
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for Innosilicon [A9] Firmware Course Code on: November 10, 2018, 01:31:48 AM
It is not the same, they redesigned their firmware entirely after the A5 launched.
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NEW BAIKAL MINER BK-G28 released. on: November 09, 2018, 08:38:36 AM
Be careful though on the power intensive algos. You will draw more current from one connector. If you use your PSU cable without splitter, that should be fine on low power algos. But if you e.g. mine X11 and, even worse, connect one splitter from a 6pin PSU cable to two boards, this wont be a good idea.

And just remember again: Ratinds: 8pin connector 150w, 6pin connector 75w.
[edit]

the 75/100 watt concept only used for gpu because it's utilize the sense pin, i don't think miner use that.

It has nothing to do with being for GPU, the two extra pins are ground.

You wanna dump the firmware for me? =)
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: DaYun ZigMiner (a.k.a PinIdea) on: November 09, 2018, 01:12:13 AM
Selling off old private farm inventory, that's the point.
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: November 09, 2018, 01:10:58 AM
D3s are $39 from Bitmain. Spondolies has a 540GH/s miner for $14k available.

Yes, because when you discover an easy way to get an 8x profit you share it on a public forum. Wink
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dayun Zig Z1 - Lyra2Rev2 6.8GH/s Asic miner on: November 08, 2018, 05:58:45 PM
yes possible, but setting a reverse dns is the least small thing a vendor could do.

I just post my observations ...

regards

It is a valid observation, however I wouldn't expect it unless they were sending mail directly from the machine. It appears they're using MSFT for their email, so probably not the case. I think it is more unusual they have a private domain registration yet they aren't hiding the site behind a reverse proxy, i.e. Cloudflare.

FYI, my CN partner investigated and explained the whole workflow:
1) the ASIC chips and PCBs (main / hash boards)  are produced by a well known high-tech factory in Shenzhen area;
2) the DaYun manufacturer (most likely based in NingBo) is a very small company just managed to buy and assemble the raw material, develop firmware (maybe...) and distribute the end product to the myriad of vendors mostly located (again) in Shenzhen...
3) the vendors are the only "official" distribution channel and they all signed an agreement with DaYun to not unveil their identity!

Interesting. Thank you for sharing this =)

Using a VPS is not unusual in this day and age. Hell, Poloniex is/was hosted on DigitalOcean.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dayun Zig Z1 - Lyra2Rev2 6.8GH/s Asic miner on: November 08, 2018, 05:31:20 PM
The Z1 firmware mentions 'PinIdea' in several files, so it's already known to be the same design and firmware, at the very least.
