161  Economy / Economics / Re: What makes Bitcoin to move this fast? on: January 03, 2018, 12:19:08 AM
Bitcoin is moving this fast maybe because of its volatility value of it, that's why there are so many investors are attracted to invest to it and it's continuously being traded and the supply is limited, so that, the demand for it will make the price higher for the reason that bitcoin makes to move this fast.

163  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin End World Poverty? on: January 02, 2018, 09:50:29 AM
I don't believe that bitcoin can end the world poverty, maybe can reduce but can't end the poverty, working for bitcoin is not that just easy, it's slightly hard just like the usual work outside the bitcoin world. It takes a lot of time and money before you earned a lot that can satisfies and end your poverty.
164  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-1-2] ‘Privacy Coin’ Verge is Allegedly Leaking Users’ IP Addresses on: January 02, 2018, 02:20:06 AM
Privacy coins are meant to be private: that’s their raison d’être. Without this functionality, they’re just altcoins, and dangerous ones at that for anyone relying on them for anonymity. Verge (XVG) is one of the best known privacy coins on the market, but it risks becoming famous for all the wrong reasons. A new website claims to list the IP addresses associated with hundreds of verge transactions, stripping bare the coin’s claims of anonymity.

Verging on the Ridiculous
XVG has soared in price over the past month, which may owe more to the coin being heavily shilled by John McAfee than its strong fundamentals. Nevertheless, a combination of privacy coins being en vogue and XVG costing mere buttons – or rather satoshis – until recently have also contributed to its rise. Anyone snapping up the coin for its privacy features, however, could be in for a disappointment.

‘Privacy Coin’ Verge is Allegedly Leaking Users’ IP AddressesIn a recent article on privacy coins, news.Bitcoin.com wrote: “The general consensus is that verge isn’t as private as some of its competitors, so don’t trust it with your life.” That may have been an understatement given that a website is now purportedly listing IP addresses pertaining to verge transactions. The operator of the website is anonymous, which is more than can be said of the transactions it reveals.

167  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the best safest way to keep bitcoins. on: December 30, 2017, 12:30:40 PM
For me the best and safest wallet that you may use to keep your bitcoin and save in a long-term investment is the hardware wallet. Online wallets are so prone to hacking. But this hardware wallets such as trezor and ledger is an offline wallet, it is hard to hack by hackers.  Therefore hardware wallets is the safest, it's also the best.
168  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin a good way to invest your money ? on: December 30, 2017, 10:09:48 AM
Yes it is good to invest your money to bitcoin, but you don't have to convert all your money to bitcoin, because it's market is so volatile it brings you so much risks, just invest an amount that you can afford to loss.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [2017-12-30] Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Privacy Coins on: December 30, 2017, 09:13:15 AM
With over 50 privacy coins on the market, purveyors of anonymous transactions are spoilt for choice. This smorgasbord of privacy-centric coins can be a little overwhelming though. To help you pick the best of the bunch, here’s our rundown of the main contenders.

How Privacy Coins Work
Bitcoin transactions are semi-anonymous: every transaction on the blockchain is broadcast publicly and visible for all eternity, but the owner of each wallet is unknown. Tying addresses to real-world identities is now relatively easy for the powers-that-be, because everyone has to cash out somewhere, and that usually involves linking bitcoin addresses to bank accounts.

Most privacy coins still rely on a bitcoin-style public ledger, but use technology that obfuscates the path of the transaction. It might still be possible to determine that a certain amount of cryptocurrency was sent, but the path leading from sender to recipient has been concealed. The way in which various privacy coins go about this differs considerably.

Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Privacy Coins

Privacy Tech Algorithms
The three most common privacy algorithms are zk-Snarks, Coinjoin, and RingCT. The latter method is used in monero; Coinjoin features in dash and is also being trialed with bitcoin; and zk-Snarks are used by most of the Z coins including Zcash. Here’s how they work:

RingCT: Monero’s ring signatures allow the sender to hide their transaction among other outputs. In addition, RingCT makes it possible to hide the amount being sent. Coupled with a stealth receiving address, this makes for an extremely discreet way of sending funds. Transparency is optional with monero, which uses an “opaque” blockchain.

While Bitcoin Trades Above $19K In India — Tax Officials Are Snooping for Gains

Bitcoin is booming in India, and the top trading platforms in the country Zebpay, Coinsecure, Unocoin, and Bitxoxo have seen unprecedented trade volumes and exchange sign-ups. However, in the midst of the bitcoin fever taking place in the region, the country’s Income Tax Department of India (ITDI) has been investigating exchanges and are researching the “taxability of bitcoin” assets.

Unocoin Co-Founder: ‘Significant Gains in Cryptocurrencies Will Be Under Scrutiny’
While Bitcoin Trades Above $19K In India — Tax Officials Are Snooping for GainsThe recent bitcoin hype in India has attracted many investors but also the country’s regulators and tax officials. According to reports this week ITDI officials are still investigating exchanges that deal with bitcoin, and the officials believe the recent spike is a perfect time to research the cryptocurrency economy. News.Bitcoin.com recently reported on the initial “crypto-crackdown” which scrutinized digital asset startups and wealthy bitcoin proponents. Now tax officials are scanning data to see if individuals profited from the jump in bitcoin’s price but failed to report the gains. The co-founder of Unocoin, Sathvik Vishwanath, told the columnist Nupur Anand Indian citizens who took in large gains would be under the tax man’s radar stating;

Apart from bitcoin or other currencies, all the mobile and immobile properties of an individual who has made significant gains in cryptocurrencies will be under scrutiny.

I heard that bitcoin is a good investment for making a huge profit in the future , is that right ? Because i want to buy some bitcoin in these days .

Yes bitcoin is a good way of a long-term investment. but you don't have to turn all your money to bitcoin just invest an amount that you can afford to lose. Bitcoin is an decentralized  currency and there is no law about bitcoin. You can't assure that your investment is profiting.
175  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-12-28] EU Central Banker: “Stop Calling the Bitcoin a Coin” on: December 28, 2017, 08:56:51 AM
European Union central bankers are becoming increasingly vocal on the subject of the world’s most popular cryptocurrency, bitcoin. Its precipitous price increase this year seems to coincide with wide-ranging statements, including the digital asset’s threat or lack thereof. Recently, the governor of the National Bank of Belgium (NBB) explained that more people should be warned about the decentralized currency and how it isn’t a currency at all.

Jan is Not a Bitcoin Fan
“We have to embrace the innovations and the efficiency gains that this can generate for the payment system,” NBB governor Jan Smets explained when asked about the possibility of a state-backed crypto for the Union. His answer came after a barrage of disparaging comments regarding cryptocurrencies’ market leader.

The NBB is Belgium’s central bank and part of the of the Eurosystem which comprise members of the European Central Bank. Mr. Smets, 66, has been its governor since 2015 after serving under two prime ministers as a cabinet chief. In addition to his NBB duties he participates in a dozen boards, academic and financial.

Quoted in De Vrije Markt, Mr. Smets explains, “We need to warn people about the bitcoin, and people who invest in bitcoins can lose a lot.” With its being woven into new financial products, the digital currency could potentially be catastrophic for wider economies due to its volatile nature.  “Even if the risks are small at the moment,” Mr. Smets acknowledges.

176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Cash is better than Bitcoin. on: December 28, 2017, 07:38:50 AM
Cash is better than bitcoin because in cash you can buy or you can use it anywhere without internet access, Not just like in bitcoin you cannot do any transactions and payments without internet access.

Fidelity Investments Charitable Collected $22 Million in Bitcoin this Year

The Year of Bitcoin continued apace with Fidelity Investments Charitable collecting a whopping 22,000,000 USD in the world’s most popular cryptocurrency. Bitcoiners are known for their generosity, and Fidelity has developed quite a relationship with the ecosystem especially over 2017.

Fidelity Investments Charitable Breaks Last Year’s Donor Record
Fidelity Takes-In $22 Million in Bitcoin Donations this Year, Half in December“People are getting smarter about donating appreciated assets, and bitcoin is the epitome of appreciated assets this year,” Matt Nash of Fidelity Charitable told CNBC. He’s referring to a remarkable run in donations from its clients this year with regard to the digital asset.

Last year, Fidelity collected a mere 6 million USD in bitcoin. The first 11,000,000 USD of 2017 were donated throughout the bulk of 2017, over roughly eleven months. As the year wound down, the fund saw a doubling of that amount in just December.

The fund doesn’t actually hold bitcoin. Instead it funnels donations through the onboarding of popular crypto exchange Coinbase. Immediately, the decentralized currency is cashed into fiat and placed into specified account for distribution.

Fidelity is best known as a full service broker, offering financial advice, baskets of mutual funds, and even life insurance. It’s a privately held global company with 45 thousand employees and revenues approaching 16 billion.
