DGB will remove Qubit, Groestl & Skein. xvg is just another shitcoin that won't last long..

https://medium.com/@josiah_digibyte/digibyte-through-2018-wallets-algo-swap-and-why-you-dont-need-to-worry-about-a-fork-a22c407319d6

At this point in time it’s looking like SHA256 (Bitcoin ASICs) and Scrypt (Litecoin ASICs) will stay, and we’ll probably replace Qubit, Groestl & Skein.

We’re aware that some people have gone out and purchased things such as Groestl / Skein miners with them only having come out since November ’17, however we’re also aware there are a decent number of other blockchains that users can still use those ASIC miners on, so those with the relatively new ASICs still have other options they can pursue.

Lol, he's a hypocrite. That's like a double standard.

With the following quotes:

"By changing some of the mining algorithms, we’re going to be doing away with some (not all) ASIC mine-able algorithms so that we still get the distribution afforded to us by GPU miners."

"So why are we doing this? If we had to describe why in two words, it would be “Security” & “Decentralization”."

"At this point in time it’s looking like SHA256 (Bitcoin ASICs) and Scrypt (Litecoin ASICs) will stay, and we’ll probably replace Qubit, Groestl & Skein."

In other words, that's not Decentralization cause he favors SHA256 and Scrypt ASIC still. No body mines SHA256 and Scrypt with GPU's... LOL

But it would means a dead of X10 Mining, if they change the algo`s.   Bacause more than 100 TH/s who mine now DGB go to other coins!

Not happy.
Was supporting DGB. hence i bought x10. Wankers

Guys having problem.
My miner a while of mining doesnt let me to connect.
Any clue why?

Anyone who has the skills (unfortunately  i do not) should keep alive the old blockchain in this hardfork and keep going those algorithms. Just taking away this algos is not what the comminty wants... so we need to show to the dev team, if they do so, they will have a split like ethereum and ethereum classic... maybe they consider to do not then...
How does decentralization fot to the fact, that one persn (or maybe a few persons in the dev team) decide to stop these algorithms. This is centralization as it could not be shown better and if they do so really, i think and i hope that this is the end of Digibyte...

Removing algorithms because of decenralization reasons and keeping exactly those two asic algorithms where you have the most centralization sounds just ridiculous to me...

It's a Russian

Soon BAIKAL X10 will enter the D3 era ... worthless to mine ... D3 is non profitable any more

Let's see BAIKAL will continue to price game ?
BATCH 1 for X10 was $1200 and now still they want $2699 ....jokes

Although i am with you regarding prices, and i think Baikal are just Scammers, because they dont release the new Algorithms, which i am sure they already have, at this time, is there any Miner that is still profitable? At least for european users and power prices, at this time all ASIC's are not profitable, because of the low prices for bitcoin and all other cryptocurrencies. That is not the fault of Baikal.

As already said, for me, Baikal are scammers anyway. They sold the X10 in octobre with the promise to add two more algorithms "soon". Although we all know, that "soon" is not a precise date, we also know, that 6 months in cryptocurrency market is not "soon" but rather "eternity". And i am 100% sure, they already have the new firmware.
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant X10 on: February 12, 2018, 09:51:27 AM
Sure, but please don't buy here, it is almost certain a scam!

https://expositos.net/baikal-giant-x10-10gh-asic-dash-coin-miner

See image 10 for example. I'm not sure if the red hashboards have the logo as well, perhaps another member knows this.
Baikal confirmed they have the CE certification for this miner, I've requested a copy of the certificate and will share as soon as I receive it ( if they will send it off course).

EDIT: Baikal responded that they will only send it if you're in the process of importing and need it for customs clearance. So please contact them if this is the case.

I am sure they dont have a CE-Certification for their miners. If they should have, they did not understand how it works. Every device must have a CE-Label and their must be a declaration of conformity in each devices package. Even when they send a declaration of conformity when the miners stuck in customs, that wont help, as the labels are still missing. If they have a CE-Certificate, they need to have a authorized representative in europe... As mentioned i am sure they do not have a CE-Certificate.
By the way, this means it would be illegal to use the device in Europe... But they dont care...
164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant X10 on: February 07, 2018, 01:43:23 PM
Hi all. Has anyone got a x10 CE certificate copy? Customs has stopped it and said that it will not be released and will be destroyed if I wont provide CE certificate.

My Baikal Giant-B is stuck at German customs authority ... and I fear that they will have to send it back to China as the devices miss the CE confirmity declarations.
Did you get your Baikal miner shipped to your place?   Did you get any help from Baikal?

i got my giant x10 without problems

you have to call them and ask what they need.

they need basically:
1. import instruction
2. a proof how much you paid for the miner (baikal put a invoice around 300$)
I don?t think these miners have a CE certificate. I was lucky: Mine got shipped via DHL Express right to my door (Germany).
Have you asked Baikal about a CE certificate? Without one it?ll be pretty difficult. I?m not sure if they are even allowed to let it pass without one.

On arrival, customs immediately opened the package for further review.
Land Niedersachen officials came today to check the device in more depth and rejected the import to Germany due to missing CE marks etc. (Didn't see the check-report which they will provide to DHL).
German customs told me that they won't accept any CE certificates for that device via e-mail etc. anymore as the device itself is missing the labels  Angry.

You should have them check the boards. The boards/ components themselves have the CE marking.

Really?  That's strange as German customs told me that they will check the device - especially the connections and components, etc.
Unfortunately, I didn't receive the final report of the rejected import to see what was the real issue - but it should arrive soon via mail.

Do you know if there are pictures on the www available?

Baikal themselves/himself were/are not really helpful when asking them for CE certificate for 3 ongoing days via Skype  Sad
But customs anyway told me that they would reject such a (faked) CE certificate.

German customs is simply being difficult, as it is probably an "unknown" device to them.
Baikal confirmed they have CE certification, as can be expected considering the CE markings on the components.
Images can be found on www, prefer not to post link here as it refers to a "scam" site. (tried to pm you a link, but it says you cannot accept pm's from newbies)

It does not help, if the components has CE-labels. If you build a device only from parts with CE-Label, the new build up device, needs to have its own CE-Label anyway. This means testing, declaraiton of conformity, technical documentation, and so on.

guys my X10 shows nicehash Pool as dead , it is surely not dead how do I unstuck it ?
thanks a lot!

I sometimes have this problem too. No idea why, but it helps when i restart my router. After that, the X10 connects to Nicehash again.
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant X10 on: January 24, 2018, 01:14:08 AM
Can someone help me ? I think some of you guys has same problem. Giant x10 is running - after few days It disconnects from internet and start blinking. Also sometimes I cant acces to web settings. Someone know how to fix this ?
The same problem. Always another machine out of eight. No solution to the problem yet.

Sometimes i have this problem too. So i did buy a WLAN-Socket for each miner. With those i can turn on and off the power of the miners via Smartphone App and restart the miner from anywhere. I also make an automatic restart once a day.

Can you tell me more about it or maybe send picture ?  WLAN-Socket  you mean smart plug ?  How can I setup automatic restart once a day ? Thanks a lot !  I cant send you PM Sad

I dont know where you are from. I am using the following plug in germany. Sorry i called it socket, it seems plug is the right word.

http://www.tp-link.com/de/products/details/cat-5258_HS110.html

There is a US version too. As i said, i have no idea where you are from:

http://www.tp-link.com/us/products/details/cat-5516_HS110.html

After setting up the plug, you can switch it on and off with an app on your smartphone. You can also set times when it will switch on and off automatically. So my plugs switch off one time in the night and on again one minute later.

Same here. I am very disapointed from Baikal. ... But 7000$, that is 5 time higher then second batch and more then 6 times higher then first batch. This is just ridicoulous
....It would also not surprise me, if they would sell more and more batches until the device is useless like the Antminer D3.

c'mon guys, I really do not understand why are you all complaining about the price.. 7kUSD is still cheaper than the market price.  Why do you expect to get it from them 10 times cheaper than the market price. Do not forget - 1st and 2nd batch were pre-oders with the waiting time of several months(!) and it was completely new unknown product with only 3 algos - so it was also some kind of risk considered in that low price.

And again you are contradicting yourself - you want to get it cheap, but on the same time you do not want manufacturer to sell too much of them, like it was with D3. But how manufacturer shall keep his profit target in this case?
I find this price fair enough..at least for the existing X10 owners.

Lets say the real Costs for one device is 500$. I dont think it is that much, But lets suggest it. This means they would earn 6500$ per device. Where i live, this would be called racketeering and it is a Crime...
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant X10 on: January 22, 2018, 06:47:26 PM
Has anyone actually managed to find out *if*, in fact, this batch that they are offering for $7000 each contains the 2 new algorithms?

I've asked, but they are dead silent about it... Just replied with the general copy-paste pricing email... :/

Same here. I am very disapointed from Baikal. They definitely made a lot of money with the prices they took for the first two batches. They could have sold one or two more batches with the new algorithms added, and so the miners as well as themself could have made some good profit. I wouldnt have complained if they would have rised the prices to maybe 2000$ or even 2500$. But 7000$, that is 5 time higher then second batch and more then 6 times higher then first batch. This is just ridicoulous.

Now, after the new price announcement, it seems, they are not better then bitmain. Just greedy people, that dont care a shit about the customers. I wouldnt be surprised now, if the new miners would have the new algos and they would not give a new firmware to the buyers from batch one and two, so only the new customers would have the advantage of those algos. It would also not surprise me, if they would sell more and more batches until the device is useless like the Antminer D3.

Like already said, i am very disapointed from Baikal. It is the next manufacturer, that is not trustworthy but just greedy... I really thought they were different from Bitmain. That was obviously a fault...

The customers (our) reaction should be, that noone should order only one from these devices. Unfortunately there are so much morons out there, dont knowing what they do, so i am sure they can sell their miners for that price...

The big mining farms will get bigger and bigger... Long live decentralization...
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant X10 on: January 22, 2018, 10:46:03 AM
either this means the new two algos are coming and will be SUPER profitable so they want to increase price per unit

or they are just greedy assholes

new algo's are nist5 and groestl, both with low hashrate, what means that when all x10 join those algo's, profitability will go down dramatically.

what is your source for that? so far this are only rumors and noone so far knew anything about the hashrate.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant X10 on: January 22, 2018, 09:26:37 AM
anyone knows what the IP changer of baikal exactly writes and if I can do that without removing the SD card as I don't want to disamble it ?

No, i just tried MPHGeopool again... No rewards...  Huh Huh

Does anyone mine Geocoin on MPH (as single coin, not auto switch) and get rewards?

Payouts are calculated, but GEO wallet is empty.

Anyone from MPH can please let us know if all is ok?
Thank you.

There are no rewards for geocoin when using the autoswitch feature too. The pool finds blocks, but no payouts are credited. So at this time, no rewards at all when mining the most profitable Qubit-Coin...

Wrote an eMail to the pool operator, but no answer so far. So when using auto switch for Baikal X10 you guys should switch to the Myriad-Groestl and Skein only setting as long as the pool operator doesnt tell us whats wrong. It looks like there are no payouts for Geocoin at the moment.

I mined Geocoin at MPH for several hours today. The pool and myself found blocks. The workers page and the dashboard showed my workers and my hashrate. But there is no reward. Did anyone else have this problem?

Same here.

It should take 160 confirmations.

Well, i did not get any rewards at all. Also no unconfirmed rewards...

To all who have Problems with their Baikal X10:

I got one x10 from Batch2 a week ago and had severe problems with the miner. Allways got the error "Miner 111 Connection refused". Tried everything, different pools, configs, updated the Software several times,... no use. Baikal support not responding till now.

A few ours ago they uploaded a new software for the x10 on their site.
See: https://www.baikalminer.com/support04.php
Direkt Link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Guf6L8Zd6IXcmPHKxA_oTHo6p1QJovtU?usp=sharing

Download, Update, Everything works fine for me since a few hours... new record for my x10!

Can you tell me how to update? I took the SD card out of the miner. When connecting it to my computer (Windows) it showed two Partitions. One is called "Boot" the other one is called "SDHC". Which one do i have to choose in the DiskImager Tool?

Hi. Does anyone know how to set up baikal interface to mine XVG on idcray? I mean stratum server and what to write on user and password. Thanks
First you must sign up in the site.  Once you are logged in, you need to create a "worker" by going to the 'My Account -> My Workers' link.

Next use this to setup baikal miner:

URL: stratum+tcp://xvg-mine.idcray.com:10061
Algo: myr-gr
User:  youUserName.yourWorkerName
Pass: yourWorkerPassword

(of course, replace the "yourXXXX" with the username and password you created when setting up the worker.)

Let me know if that doesn't do it for ya.

(Note: You may want to use a port other than 10061 to get the best difficulty setting.  The available ports with respective diffuculties are listed on the 'home' page.)
Thanks, everything works, but dont know which diff would i set. I mine 450xvg/day

Come to the suprnova pool. Website works much better, fees are lower.

I just got my first payment from Suprnova pool. So it seems this pool is running fine.
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant X10 on: December 31, 2017, 04:28:53 PM
Hey folks,

I'm testing a XVG myriad-groestl pool:

https://xvg-mg.suprnova.cc

Can someone point a Baikal and report if the diff retarget etc. is working fine ?

Thanks,

oc

PS: it's a new database format, you'll need to re-register and set up workers even if you already got a suprnova account, I'm in the progress of migrating to a new DB design.

How much are fees?
Pool fee, transaction fee, any other fee?

Pointed parts of my farm there. Lets hope you dont crash like the other xvg pools.... they disabled paying and alot of xvg are still not payed out by them.

1 % fee, tx fee will be determined after we have the first block and I know what the Network charges. No other fees.

Thanks for the great response, happy mining!

Just switched to this pool, from past experience suprnova is very reliable. I haven't had any problems with idcray, but their frontend is often down and the fees are higher.

They also have very much orphaned blocks. It seems like they run this pool somewhere in a living room, with a 1 KBit Internet Connection. :-)

Thats why i switched my miners to Suprnova too. Suprnova is reliable and the fees are lower.

BLINKING BLUE LIGHT FIX

I may have just stumbled on a fix for the blinking blue light issue. I haven't had a problem with it until last night. I restored one of my miners' settings from a backup and forgot to change the username under the pool configs, so two of my machines were hashing on the same pool with the same username. Got the blinking blue light. Reset the machines to have different usernames and everything has been working fine. This was mining on idcray-xvg pool, haven't observed the issue with other pools.

Hope this helps someone!

LTC - LMP2zZQpgcb3HQk364vjSAgC1po5yYFQ2G

Update: just tried switching to MPH and got blinking blue on every machine. Checked the "Extranonce" box and did a power cycle, and so far, so good. Will post again if I continue to get errors on MPH.

Update2: I've had the miners go down several times on MPH, always when switching to the Skein algo. Qubit/Myr-Groestl seem to switch fine. Once the miners are running on Skein, it seems stable, just switching over causes a problem. I'm wondering if this has something to do with the miner going from 10GH/s down to 5GH/s?

I have no problems on MPH switching to Skein and back. It sometimes take some seconds, so the miner goes to another pool that is set as failover, but then it goes back to MPH. What network settings do you use? DHCP, Static IP?
