161  Economy / Lending / Re: Need .4 BTC loan on: August 19, 2013, 01:55:09 PM
LMAO at all the people sending random stuff. PLEASE keep getting more random and crazy with the things you send. Smiley The craigslist hookers were a nice touch!!! Cheesy Make sure you update the thread when you have sent something!

I frankly don't like that shit.  It is stealing time and money from innocent people who have nothing to do with any of this.

Fun's fun, but enough's enough.  It's the scam artist who should be punished, not honest pizzerias who have done nothing to deserve being dragged into this bullshit.  Even chucking a water balloon full of rancid week-old piss into this scumbag's house would only punish the real perp.

Exactly! I said this too but everyone seemed to ignore the post.

That's because they want to feel as if they've actually done something, despite the fact that by now they've wasted more pizzeria money than Joey has scammed.
162  Economy / Lending / Re: microloan. 12 on: August 19, 2013, 01:53:08 PM
Here's another one for you, J603. Put your money where your mouth is, dipshit. After all, this is just another user who I gave negative trust to simply because he's new and asking for a loan. So step up and send him the .12, you two-faced piece of shit Cheesy

Uh-oh, is someone mad because I did the exact same thing to you that you do to others?

I didn't say I was going to send out money to anyone, I just said that people should be given a chance. I won't be sending money to OP. But I also won't be slandering his reputation if it turns out that this is a legit account. On the thread where I called you out it appears as though OP is not an alt, and does plan on using his account. Now he's going to be red because of you.

I know, you already told me that you "don't give a fuck". Yet you'll keep posting about me because that's how you show nonchalance.
163  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Count down to Iran invasion on: August 19, 2013, 01:36:09 PM
Bit disappointed the way I suggested profit out of the news and everybody ignored it and starting moaning politics again

Maybe not all of us are willing to be vultures picking at the bones of a nation.

? Other way round. If you're betting on peace you can invest in Iran which is a very positive thing.

If you were to be betting on war then you'd be buying arms stocks.

Investing in Iran is illegal in may parts of the world due to trade sanctions. Try again.

You don't deserve my help. The sanctions will soon be lifted and those who could see this will profit.

The sanctions will only be lifted when Iran completely changes its political structure.

In that case, if sanctions are lifted you would not be investing in the same Iran that you would be if you managed to invest in it now. That means that all of the businesses you invested in will radically change as well.

164  Other / Politics & Society / Re: living With Terrorism on: August 19, 2013, 01:31:33 PM
I'm not sure what the true stats are but I'd wager that more people die on the roads in western countries in one year than died in all the "terror" related incidents of the last five decades against those same western countries.    It's also certainly true that of the 160 million or so people that died in conflicts in the last 100 years or so, a very small proportion were military personnel and the aggressors directly or indirectly behind that slaughter were for the most part the western nations, with a particular emphasis on Britain and the USA, although Japan, China, Russia and Australia also have the blood of millions on their hands.

And let's not forget occasions where the US attacks itself. Anyone remember the attack on the USS Liberty?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lc7sOb7IsPY

Mostly the western nations? Actually, Japan and the PR China take the award for most people butchered. Japan killed between 30-40 million people (mostly Chinese) in the Sino-Japanese War and WWII. The Chinese government killed millions due to starvation since the civil war after/during WWII. The Soviet Union lost a good 20 million people against their former ally in a war they helped start.

The west is not innocent, but we can't even compare to some of the countries in Asia.

166  Other / Politics & Society / Re: #RacistVan on: August 19, 2013, 01:23:06 PM
Politicizing science is intrinsically authoritarian.

There is no biological evidence to support your asinine, fictional concept of race as an actual object of scientific inquiry.   We are all homo sapien, IE human.

Speech codes are also intrinsically authoritarian, because they seek to control as well as criminalize thought and free expression.

What you are actualy objecting to is cultural bigotry and ethnic prejudice.

As there is only one human race, your idea of "racism" is not logically valid, IE meaningless.

Ok...

Then how do you define "Gypsy"? Certainly not as an ethnicity because "Gypsies" do not come from Egypt after which the term is named. In fact, it is unknown where they came from originally, although it's been narrowed down to India and Pakistan. Certainly not as a culture because "shitting everywhere" is not a part of the Romani culture. It appears as though you are in fact racist, and you're prejudiced against the Romani race.

Also, you can say that "there is only one human race" but that is not true. There are many human races. There is one human species, homo sapiens, which is split into many different sub-divisions. Much like there is one "dog" species and many different breeds, there is one human species and many different races.
167  Economy / Economics / Re: Daily Transaction Volume is Nearing Record - What gives? on: August 19, 2013, 12:42:26 PM

How much is REAL transactions though ie BTC replacing Fiat and buying actual real-world goods and services (ie not gambling, BTC securities, ASICs or SilkRoad)?

Where are the stats on that, or does no-one actually want to see whether there's any real BTC economy out there........!

Gambling and drugs are a "real" part of any economy. Better that bitcoins are used for something, even if it's drugs, rather than only be used as a security or stock.
168  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: The best and easiest way for merchants to accepts bitcoins in local shops. on: August 16, 2013, 07:21:05 PM
What is the benefit of bitpay over simply telling the customers to send it to your personal address?

For retailers they like to be able to just put an app on their employee's phones and let them type in the dollar price of the purchase.

It is as simple as that. No need to coordinate addresses for each employee or have conversions for bitcoins or a tracking system.

BitPay will also allow the business owners to get all of their money in dollars. And it has a good tracking system of the payments.

For a merchant that does not care about bitcoin but wants to accept them, BitPay is ideal. All they need is an app. The setup is easy, and they get their money in their bank account just like with the credit cards that they are used to.

Their fee (1% I believe) is small compared to the convenience.

LOCAL SHOPS =/= Company
Employee Huh

Many retailers have some kid running the register. Or for restaurants you have waiters/waitresses.

I set up my wife's clothing store through BitPay and everything is very convenient. The YouTube video I posted shows how the transaction takes like 30 seconds and they said that they had to slow down for the video.

What's the name/location of her store? That's a big leap if something necessary like clothes is being sold for BTC.
169  Other / Off-topic / Re: is it just me.. on: August 16, 2013, 07:20:04 PM
Well I'm guessing that they use the products they're "selling" and only ship them out when they're useless.

So it's not just you that thinks this.
170  Economy / Economics / Re: Daily Transaction Volume is Nearing Record - What gives? on: August 16, 2013, 07:03:17 PM
Gambling sites make up the bulk of transactions, far more than any exchange. Maybe today's a popular day to blow your money.
171  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ukash to Bitcoin exchange on: August 16, 2013, 07:02:16 PM
I don't live in the UK, so that's not an option. If you sent the BTC first to someone, I'd trust you.
172  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: The best and easiest way for merchants to accepts bitcoins in local shops. on: August 16, 2013, 07:00:57 PM
I still think that the easiest way is to just hand out bills/receipts with a QR code for the shop's bitcoin address. Customers scan it and send the payment. Done. No fees other than the typical dust fees.
173  Economy / Economics / Re: Adding fiat currencies on Crypto Street on: August 16, 2013, 06:54:53 PM
US dollar, Euro, Pound.

What are your payment options going to be? If you had a cash deposit option like Bitinstant did, that would really cool.

UKash, Payitsafe, MoneyPak, and other non credit card / non bank options would be cool too.
174  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ukash to Bitcoin exchange on: August 16, 2013, 06:51:31 PM
This is pretty suspicious. Trade with caution.

I wasn't really going to give you negative feedback. But be careful, had you had less posts Tomatocage would have jumped all over that.
176  Other / Meta / Re: Sad on: August 16, 2013, 06:47:56 PM
I never look at the altcoin or gambling subforums so they don't bother me. You don't even have to put them ignore, just don't go there.
177  Economy / Economics / Re: Mt Gox vs Blockchain on: August 16, 2013, 06:44:53 PM
I don't think I've received an answer.

Up until yesterday, the price at Mt Gox was virtually reflected on BlockChain within pennies. Starting yesterday, and still today, there currently is a ~$11 USD difference in price, with the Mt Gox rate being the highest.

I have never seen this before. One or two dollars I may be able to shrug off, but a double digit discrepancy is mindblowing.

I understand weighted averages to this extent: If there were only two exchanges that were being weighed, and one is reflected as being $11 higher, than the other must be $11 lower to see what I'm seeing.

What exchanges are being weighed that's making the Blockchain show such a big difference, given that up to less than two days ago, we were talking pennies, not double digit dollars?

Bitstamp is much cheaper and it gets more business than Gox, so that's probably why. Especially with the inability to withdraw from Gox, Bitstamp is taking the business. Maybe Blockchain just updated their weight with the most recent figures? It was only recently that Bitstamp overtook Mt Gox.

Why he thought that Russia is more free than the US is anyone's guess.

Well, for him Russia is certainly "more free" than the US. No need to guess why, LOL!

I guess, but how long will Putin allow a dissident to live in a country where dissidents are killed or imprisoned for speaking out?

Seems like he'll either get the same treatment or worse.

Rassah,

Sounds like you really know your stuff about McDonald's. No doubt with their excellent business model and progressive menu, it shouldn't be an issue for them to change their starting pay to well above minimum wage like In-n-Out. At least we both now know that their menu prices won't undergo a rise in price if ever they had to pay their employees more. Kudos to you for pointing this out and rendering the joint's opinion even more suspect, as he was claiming fast food businesses just wouldn't be able to afford it.

I worked at McDonald's Corp for a while, and had the chance to see visit their central office and see how they operate from the inside.
And how the hell do you come to that conclusion after numerous questions from myself and others of "Why should McDonald's deny someone a job if they need it more and are willing to charge less for their labor?"

How does In-n-Out determine whom to give a job to? I can't imagine burger flipping has a lot of qualifications.

I've been in McDonald's many times - no doubt hundreds and hundreds of times. Same with In-n-Out. Experiencing both gives one both perspective. I have both perspectives. You don't.

Hundreds?  Grin

Seems like we have a hypocrite over here. Tell me, did you start hating McDonald's burgers the 100th time you went? Or was it the 101st that really pushed you over the edge?

You think hundreds is a lot in a lifetime? Maybe I also have the perspective of living longer than you.

Hundreds for a company you supposedly hate is a lot. If I don't like somewhere, do you know how many times I go back there? 0.
