Tin foil hat.

The cause of the downtime is malicious. There has been no compromise of any database, data, or code - they couldn't have been accessed by the malicious party (and so is other projects like Inputs.io and CL)

After talking with whiskers75, I suspect that the same individual was responsible. It was carried out through social engineering (different) hosting providers.

Sorry for the downtime - I hope to have coinchat back before Monday.
What kind of social engineering?
This shouldn't be happening with hosting providers.

Namecheap is easy to SE, a forum I used to be apart of got hacked and the hacker SE'd Namecheap into handing them access to the VPS.

It wasn't Namecheap that was SE'd in this case.

I know I was just giving a example of a hosting provider that got se'd

The wallet on your phone should work the same as the wallet on your PC.

read the OP he wants to buy coins via phone payments on his phone bill.
169  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How anonymous is BTC.... on: November 04, 2013, 09:01:43 PM
Bitcoin is as anon as cash which depending on circumstances could be a little or a lot.

Not really, cash in hand transactions are not recorded unlike Bitcoin.

Maybe you guys should start mining IQ's.   Grin

Surely I must be able to buy BTC with my mobile phone credit?

Receiving payments via phone payments is expensive

https://blockchain.info/wallet/sms-phone-deposits

Can't find it on my account.. that's why I was asking

I am confused, so you don't want to mine btc right? You just want to buy btc and put them in your mobile? If that is the case.

Then go to localbitcoin and buy btc, and give the btc wallet address on your phone. Then you will get btc on your mobile within a few seconds.

No, they want to buy bitcoins via mobile payments, like it gets added on their phone bill.

Now, why do they want to do that? Your phone bill will be sky rocket high.

It's a payment method....

Spend 100 dollars via a credit card or 100 dollars via a phone bill it's the same thing..

I want to buy BTC with like mobile payment, via SMS?

doubt it unless someone has set up onebip or a phone payment provider or something

if you're in the UK and have a uk bank account you can do uk bank transfers with a seller.
175  Other / Archival / Re: Getting BTC with my mobile phone? (UK) on: November 04, 2013, 06:59:12 PM
I don't think it is possible because the hardware in phones is not good enough to mine bitcoins. if it would be possible your phone will get really hot and your battery could explode.

So i think it isn't possible and never will be because of the generated heat.

lol

they don't want to mine btc.

Most people use a coin mixer to mix their coins to make them pretty much untraceable in the Blockchain.
