161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: GREAT CRYPTO DEPRESSION on: March 01, 2018, 10:41:17 PM
LOL that is a good one. But at the same time is sad because not everyone survived. There are news of a Korean student that killed himself after loosing all he had.
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Forkdelta DEX Experience on: March 01, 2018, 10:39:55 PM
It is being ran by the same people who are handling etherdelta so the same people means the same management. It is good to have an alternative to ED but it sucks when the alternative is being run by the same people who doesnt have any ability to maintain the exchange, why would we trust such people?doesnt use it yet but it seems the same old shit.

Are you sure it is the same people? For what I know it surfaced as a Github repository by some guy that claimed to have forked, but unrelated to the orginal one.
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Using Whois to prevent possible scams on: March 01, 2018, 10:38:32 PM
I think it is a good idea. It wonīt give you a 100% certainty, but it is a check that is easy to do and takes like 2 minutes. So it is a good idea by the OP.
164  Economy / Economics / Re: You missed all the trains, not just bitcoin on: February 23, 2018, 05:54:31 PM
I agreed to have missed a lot, but that's what bitcoin is about here I'll object to him just as I did not miss, but rather waited

Yep, many people are attracted to passive strategies by the credo of the Bitcoin. Bitcoin is great, but lotīs of innovation has happened in the last 9 years, I think.
165  Economy / Economics / Re: Companies that are scary on: February 23, 2018, 05:51:08 PM
I am really scared of Monsanto and the Pharma. They are basically playing the role of god with nature and they are so huge that thereīs not a lot we can do.

I agree with this one. We areworried about our personal data an meanwhile the farma is creating new ways of not healing us, but making us their perpetual clients.
166  Economy / Economics / Re: Beliefs about money and wealth on: February 23, 2018, 05:50:04 PM
Everyones hasn diferent beliefs about money and wealth. See for example 35 different ways of thinking about it here:
https://daringtolivefully.com/powerful-beliefs-about-money

One famous author, not my favourite, yet an influential one is Robert Kyosaki. In his book poor dad, rich dad, he examines two different beliefs and states that those believes will shape your success.

What of these do you agree with? What other beliefs do you have about money?

1 - Millionaires are greedy, that is why they become millionaires.
2 - Company managers just want to use the workers to make themselves rich and others poor.
3 - Having money is a question of luck, if not of "gods grace".
4 - Debt is always bad.
5 - To make money, you just need to have a great idea nobody thought off.
6 - Cryptos are the way to make money and be successful without having to put effort into it.
7 - To become rich I just have to believe in Bitcoin because many people have become rich doing that.
8 - To become rich I just have to be more clever and streetwise than everyone around to get my share of the cake.

Your turn to think ...

(EDIT: These are NOT my beliefs, at least not necessarily, is just a list to think. Is not the list by Robert K. either.)

1. Company buy other small company to eliminate competitions and have total monopoly, which means more money.
2. To become rich I just have to buy and hold on Bitcoin for at least a year and see how much I gained.
3. To become rich I just have to sit in my of my pc or laptop, doing trade, sleep, eat. Rinse and Repeat.
4. To become rich continue to re-invest and rolled your bankroll
5. To become rich don't gamble.
6. To become rich, save money, spend it wisely.

Yet holding bitcoin last year would have given you a nice red bottom line, yet you are here on the forum not trading. I find some inconsistencies between your thoughts and your actions.
167  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: February 23, 2018, 05:45:16 PM
sMerit reduction for red trust seems like a ridiculous proposed solution from my point of view - since the merit system and the trust system are separate, and bringing in some kind of reduction of sMerit formula for red trust would likely cause more problems than it solves in terms of adding complexity and possible unintended bad player gaming consequences.
Both merit and trust systems can be abused as time goes on, abusements have been demonstrated by proofs. Nevertheless, I totally agree with JayJuanGee, those two systems should operated separately because they have very different original objectives in the forum. No need to combine them into one system.

IMO, those who found clearly abusing the merit system should be passed onto the inquisition the Red Painters so that they have a good reason not to do it in the future.
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How get free Altcoin with Newbie account ? on: February 22, 2018, 09:21:18 PM
I am a newbie and I would like to ask for some share on how to earn free altcoin. Help me

You can use other resources you may have. Perhaps you have many followers in twiter, can write a blog or have many friends in facebook. All that can be used in campaigns.
169  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin Volatility Be Controlled? on: February 22, 2018, 09:17:59 PM
I have read some posts and some concerns that it is the volatility of Bitcoin that is preventing many people and many businesses to fully adopt Bitcoin. This can be the main factor why big online shopping stores are not yet adding Bitcoin into their payment facilities (though there is now a circulated petition for this but I doubt if it can make a dent).

Some are really saying that if volatility can be managed then we can see Bitcoin going mainstream. I am wondering then: Is volatility something that we should find a way to control and how do you think it can be done?

In theory bitcoin could be as volatile as you want and yet still be adopted. It is as simple as fixing a convenient conversion rate for the transaction and cashing out immediately.
170  Economy / Economics / Re: Companies that are scary on: February 22, 2018, 09:16:52 PM
I'm surprised that nobody mentioned the colourful monolith, all knowing uncle, the great cards dealer, advertising croupier etc. etc, google.
Latest days where quite saturated with news regarding this giant being able to record and store all our voice commands.
Check this out if you missed it somehow, it is always voluntary but enabled by default, so it is possible to "stop this service" but... service as a part of the android system is still there and running.
And how many other instances of our data collection (unfortunately still voluntary) are there? Most of googles services require us to have some sort of additional sensors enabled, I can only imagine, how much data they posses daily on one single individual. If this isn't scary, idk what is.

I am quite scared by the popularity of those voice devices. I am sure that Google and Amazon and whoever creates a personal assistant will not resist the temptation of using all that data.
171  Economy / Economics / Re: Beliefs about money and wealth on: February 22, 2018, 09:14:11 PM
There are many people out there that think that earning big money is a question of luck and believe all the stories about others earning money by chance. I think that luck is a factor, but you can do a lot for yourself first.
172  Other / Meta / Re: What is the "forum time" on: February 22, 2018, 09:12:24 PM
"merit" is the forum timer. It's a secret hidden message for sig spammers. You will see that "merit" is an anagram of "timer", and it is a metric we use to check on a new member's ability to cut and paste text, and to master the complexities of Google translate.

He he.. are you trying to tell me something?
173  Other / Meta / Re: What is the "forum time" on: February 22, 2018, 09:10:55 PM
It is the local time in the time zone that the forum's server is set to. This forum is in UTC, but other forums on the Internet may be in different time zones.

In addition to the info. Once you enter the forum, the time is not in real time so you need to refresh the page in order to get the update once you stay long in that page.
UTC and GMT have the same time and you could use it both since the forum time follows it.

Hey, that is a really good detail thanks. So in essence, it is London time and I can just think or it as the forum being in London. Thatīs good enough for me Smiley
174  Economy / Economics / The crypto-tulips project on: February 21, 2018, 10:41:07 PM
After a profound analysis, and many, many hours of thinking, mostly in the toilet, I came up with a great business idea.

Just think of this, the best selling and most valuable items in the 17th century were tulip bulbs, at least for a while. Now, we have crypto-kitties. So, I thought that I should create a hybrid and make the greatest speculative item of all times: "The crypto tulip"... it should look something like a cross of these:

Do you think this has a future?

Debt is not always bad, debt can make you make more money by borrowing and investing. This is normally called leverage and is a tool that all the companies out there use.
176  Economy / Economics / Re: You're not wealthy yet, so you're not allowed to be wealthy on: February 21, 2018, 10:20:15 PM
The rule that only accredited investors, which means people who are already wealthy, are allowed to participate in certain ICOs is senseless imo. It's like saying "YOU'RE NOT WEALTHY YET, SO YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO BE WEALTHY." Stupid society, with obsolete rules, we're living in.

Disclaimer: I'm not a US citizen, and I've not read that law
Are you sure of that rule? What is your basis? The thing is I don`t care about that rule wealthy or not, I can be wealthy because I am in crypto world.

I assume you are not an US citizen or resident. You are not familiar either with the term accredited investor and the law behind it. I suggest you google a little bit, for your own personal knowledge.
177  Economy / Economics / Re: Terrified Of Bitcoin - Banks Forced To Innovate For First Time In 40 Years on: February 21, 2018, 10:17:27 PM
I am very surprised to know that  Payment in Australia could take evena week. It just makes no sense. In the UK they have the "faster payments" and in the rest of Europe they have SEPA that are really fast.
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEO is performing better than average on: February 21, 2018, 10:15:58 PM
It would seem that NEO is performing better than average, given that most of the coins are diving into the Marianas Abyss, so this is a change to elaborate some theories on why. Go!

Against the background bitcoin Neo looks too undervalued, but it gives an opportunity to earn good money. Last year, the coin brought a big profit, and I keep it in my investment portfolio.

I think that we need to see more NEP5 based projects, that is, more NEO tokens, so that it catches up with ETH and other coins that have strong development and market.
179  Economy / Economics / Re: Companies that are scary on: February 21, 2018, 10:14:58 PM

My point was that people will always be people. We all screw up and tend to follow the herd most of the time.

You completely glossed over the fact that such social media experiments show that it is indeed possible to target and manipulate particular demographics based on their social media/ net habits.

For example, Someone with access to all the google, twitter and facebook meta-data and the motivation and resources to mine it can easily divide people in groups as being favorable/ non-favorable to a particular candidate or proposal. They can then target the users accordingly to shape their opinion.
Denying that its always only "stupid" people who fall for such tactics is giving too much credit to your own thought process. A majority of people will change their opinion when bombarded with a particular ideology on their social feeds for a long enough time.

Have no doubt, people have been manipulated all along history, and everyday, is just human nature and nowadays is just the same thing but more scientific, digital and more acute.
180  Economy / Economics / Re: what is the worst thing did you did in crypto world? on: February 20, 2018, 08:43:43 PM
