I like this coin and concept and would really like to set up a node in the cloud but not quite sure where to begin...others in this thread have mentioned a cheap ($5/mo) vpn service to do this. Is this through Digital Ocean? If I were to purchase a plan at Digital Ocean, which would it be and would the previously published NHZ guide to set up a node work when setting up a cloud node? Any step by step assistance would be very helpful. Thanks a lot! I'm running NHZ on Digital Ocean and nhz.myAddress is set but I can't reach UI. When I follow https://[DROPLET_IP]:7775/ I'm getting error (connection refused). Also, I tried to change allowedUserHosts to * but no luck. How do I make it reachable from outside?
Try setting uiserverhost to the public ip of your server If you want to access the admin page too, look for allowedbothosts and apiserverhost. Personally, I use ssh-tunneling (ssh -L17775:localhost:7775 user@host) to access nodes when necessary. This redirects the remote port 7775 to localhost:17775

I've requested refund for 2x 25 (90) Mh/s units. I initially paid my deposit via PayPal using Amex. Since my refund request, I've been offered the 75% refund less 70 GBP from Alpha via Paypal. I have yet to "accept" the refund nor returned it to Alpha as per Paypal policy before they release the money. I have taken this refund gap up with Amex explaining that Alpha has only refunded 75% of monies paid. They are looking into it. I'll report back when Amex responds.
Has anyone successfully received 100% refund using Amex's chargeback policy?

Please read the following carefully:The fees will be higher this time than with exo_coin because the bitcoin price has fallen dramatically since I originally set those prices. I hope you will understand. The fee will be 0.02 BTC or 0.9% which ever is greater. Additionally you MUST BE IN PERSONAL POSSESSION OF AT LEAST ONE OF THE PRIVATE KEYS THAT YOU SEND FROM I will require digital signatures to release any funds or make any changes to the status of your order. Don't worry, its not as complicated as it sounds and I will be here for anyone who needs help to walk them through every step. You don't even need to know how digital signatures work yet, I can help you with that when the time comes, for now though just make sure that you send from a software client located on your machine or if you prefer e-wallet than use blockchain.info DO NOT SEND DIRECTLY TO ME FROM AN EXCHANGEOk so if you have read everything carefully and agree to these terms feel free to send to this address when ever you are ready. 1PT7jU42DQfVecwqBAnrT49gJhfVm3YyBz 0.52 BTC sent from Blockchain info. Shall I send signature key now? Thanks, JKBtCn

Since I did some forging on test net after testing non-unique asset names, my node generated blocks with such assets, that are being rejected by all other nodes running older code, so we have a fork on test net. It would be interesting to see how this gets resolved once the test nodes are one by one updated to 0.8.11.
Interesting and could have considerable implications. Any update to your initial observation?

waiting list for 5000 NXT
Thanks!

I received some testnet NXT earlier but made the mistake of changing the fee amount from 1,000 to 10,000 when creating an asset to exchange!
Q: so this fee, would it go to the account that forges the block? If so, that's a lovely payout!
Would love to keep playing: Any more testnet NXT?

Yikes! Unable to convert to BTC due to cryptsy API unreliability. I understand this is beta but boy do I not want to be stuck with half a million moon coins and other randoms that I'll have to transfer by hand! Hoping for a quick fix...dont want to keep more BTC value on a beta site for long...guess I could manually transfer to cryptsy. manual? the pool auto pays out every hour. I haven't had any problems so far with crypsty getting "stuck" on anything. for 1.3% I'll convert it myself on cryptsy. M Yes but as someone who has spent countless hours headlong into the markets, choosing coins and pools, exchange sites with good rate of exchange, etc to make a few extra bucks, I really like that ScryptGuild offers the option to trade mined coins to BTC...all on its site. Even if it really is literally 3-4 additional mouse clicks to DIY...I like the service. Maybe it's worth the 1.3%? I wonder now though if now that direct trade options are down--and the most frequent coin mined over the past 2 days had been DOGE if I am correct--how this will affect BTC exchange estimates. i.e. yesterday DOGE was closer to 200 and today 180s. I suspect estimates on ScryptG will shrink...let's see.

Loving this pool so far, but this morning I seem to be getting a lot of rejects. Is it just me, or anybody else seeing the same thing?
EDIT : Looks fine again now.
I'm seeing a period of 2 hours, shifts ending at 4am and 5am respectively, where I got half my normal hashes in. I wasn't watching at the time, so I don't know what happened. However I checked my backup pools, and they all have unconfirmed activity, which means my miners switched to the backups during those periods. M Same here..my failover had shares from around that same time period. Hmmm, Scryptguild didn't report this inactivity? Edit: just checked their news: Backend Update - Brief Period of High Stales 09:30 UTC: A major update was made to the pool backend this morning. This change completely rewrote how the pool handles block interaction, and moved most of the profit switching code into the pool itself, rather than an external script processing information. In pushing this update live, there were a few bugs resulting in significant stale share submissions. This problem has been fixed, but may have severely affected your stale share percentage if you haven't been mining for a long time. It is recommended that you use the 'Reset Stats' feature to get an accurate representation of stale vs valid shares going forward. This recent change to the profit switching engine should drastically increase overall pool performance when dealing with blocks that have random rewards. The previous update from yesterday definitely improved our profit, but had some quirks in how many work updates were being pushed to miners. The new system should remove the excess work push submissions. February 27, 2014

10 second block times would be great. Is this possible?

RE: http://brainpreservation.org/sites/default/files/PressRelease_OneMillionNXTCoinDonationToBPF.pdfThanks guys!
We need to make this viral...
This is really great stuff. The downvotes on reddit will pass as the generosity is what most people will remember. As a biomedical researcher and professor of medicine, I am pleased to be a part of the NXT community where these efforts exist. I am spreading the word at my academic institution at all opportunities. A bit of criticism however is that this effort could be seen as merely a response to balance the PR woes we've seen since NXT's inception (reddit's angle)...I am not blind to the fact that there is a huge risk investing in NXT due to the massive imbalance of 50 milion+ NXT accounts and I do think that the whales would be wise in making decisions about further distribution and transparency. I'm glad none-the-less to see what klee has done. Thank you sir. Edit: sir/madam

3. How can I get my shares ?
You will need to access your BTT account to send a PM or make a post confirming the ownership of the account to claim your share. Detail instructions in an announcement will be posted here, NEM reddit, NEM facebook, ournem website and the announcement will last at least 5 days. It is your responsibility to read and follow the instructions to claim your shares. So please check back frequently. Thanks. What happens with the coins when 4-5 people don't see the announcement and doesn't claim the share? Maybe we can use it for giveaways? Probably a good idea to use PM from this forum rather than emails to inform people of receipt of coins...there are issues with spam for many peoples' accounts (especially hotmail)...including mine. Lots of missed emails and had to change accounts. Cant do that here, now!

so im going to go ahead and put this out there so that as many people know about it as possible before round 2.
escrow for round 2 will work differently from round 1
Instead of using a spreadsheet to keep up with everything, im actually just going to use the built in functionality of the accounting ledger that is already provided for us by the bitcoin blockchain. There are many advantages. I will not have to do the same work twice for no reason. Also it elimiates the possibility for human error. what this will mean is that if you participate in round 2 you MUST BE ABLE TO SIGN a message with one of the addresses that you send from.
now don't freak out. Its very simple and for anyone who doesn't know how to do this I will personally walk you through every step and teach you how.
im going to be posting this several times to make sure that everyone sees it because the one big drawback to this is that if you send from an exchange or an address that you dont control than you will be donating your coins to me. granted this is a significant drawback but weighed against the advantages I think its worth it.
Can signatures be written from blockchain.info wallets?

Did I miss something...why the new Mac wallet? There's already one. Is this a mandatory update? There hasn't been a hard fork has there?
