161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [WARNING] WATCH OUT FOR MASTERNODE SCAMS THAT WILL STEAL YOUR COINS on: May 05, 2018, 09:40:18 PM
That is what I am saying. It is sad to see people get taken advantage of in crypto currency.

This is why our team is fighting to bring awareness to these challenges and problems that exist. It is becoming more surreal since some people have bad intentions for the wrong reasons.

There are users who are reporting that coins have been stolen from their wallets because they gave someone access to their SERVER and REMOTE access to the WALLET. The problem here starts where the person can easily withdraw your coins through the server or wallet.

How do you prevent this? It is simple. NEVER ALLOW anyone access to your server or masternode wallet.

If you are seeking help to get your masternode up and running, you do not need to give the person any access.

Check out a helpful services like www.setupmasternodes.com
Thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3213738

No access is needed for this service, and you get full one-on-one support for a small one-time fee.  Alternatively, people can use the telegram, discord, forum chats on the altcoins they want to run masternodes for usually without a cost. You have two options.

We just want to put this announcement out before things get worse and more scams happen.
Terrible news! Poor people! My friends sometimes tease me I am too careful, but, really, I will better stay this way!

164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [WARNING] WATCH OUT FOR MASTERNODE SCAMS THAT WILL STEAL YOUR COINS on: May 05, 2018, 09:26:21 PM
Masternode has now become one of the most common scam methods. Many masternode coins promise to give you attractive rewards. When you buy, maybe their team disappear, maybe your coins can't find any exchange trades, maybe the price plummets.

Well, it isn't necessarily about the scam methods of the coins launching. It is mostly that people are scamming others by pretending to be a "DEV" or "TRUSTED" Community Member, then they will gain access to the SERVER and WITHDRAW coins.  This is the heart of the problem
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you tried setting up a Masternode? on: May 05, 2018, 09:24:48 PM
These types of resources are really helpful for the masternode community. Thank you for sharing.

I am glad you've had your own masternode setup too. It isn't too bad after all. However, most people get stuck and do not know where to get started

I would be interested to know more about this. Any knowledgeable people? What investments are needed to start?

That's great! I've set up masternodes myself in the past.

There's really only two investments you need to make:

1. Buying the amount of coins required to set up a coin's Masternode.
2. Pay the monthly fee for a VPS (It's not much. Only $5 per month).

Here's a great website with a list of Masternode coins that you can look into >>> masternodes.online

Lastly, if you need help setting it up, there's two options you can take:

1. Ask around a coin's community for help.
2. There's a service called Setup Masternodes that provides 1-on-1 support over the phone or through messaging until your MN is set up. They get it done in as little as 1 hour.

Here's a link to their Bitcointalk thread >>> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3213738.0

I wish the best of luck to you in the process! Feel free to ask more questions.

It is crazy that many people are still not aware of the scams that are going on in the masternode section.

It is recommended to NEVER allow anyone access to your masternodes.

Who else is having trouble with their ION masternode setup process?

The community can help, simply ask for assistance in here or the official ION chats. However, there is another option through the www.SetupMasternodes.com team that will assist you through the entire process for a small service fee. If you are having trouble getting it up-n-running, do ask for help.

Reminder: NEVER give access to your SERVER or REMOTE ACCESS to your Wallets.

179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Masternode Altcoins do you support? on: April 22, 2018, 08:14:51 AM
Smartcash.  It had a low entry point and I wanted to check it out and learn more about masternodes without having to involve tons of money doing it.  Not great pay, but decent, and the pay will only get better as the project grows.

I have been looking more into smartcash myself. Good share. What is unique about them?
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you tried setting up a Masternode? on: April 22, 2018, 08:13:30 AM
No, but surely, I am interested. Some of my coins (and tokens to be swapped in to a coin) has that feature, but because of I am just a baby in this crypto, still want to know more. Do you have any particular reference about masternode?

which are you interested in so far?

what references are you searching for?
