So what is the effect of the N factor going to 5 today other than me changing my miner? Also just because some people sell coins and drive down the price doesn't mean the coin is over. The price of anything is what you can get people to pay for it. They may or may not have sellers regret in the future.

Ok this goes out to all miners. Hold your coins and sell them a little at a time. The price won't drop like a rock. It will rise. A novel concept for sure.

That sounds like a good way to loose 15k. If I were in your shoes I would consider all of the factors in investing in something. Asking on here will make your cash go up in smoke.

That said, if your set on investing in alt coins, I would buy a mining computer. At least if it doesn't work out you have something to sell to get your investment capital back. There are many computer companies that can build a mining system. I would stay away from mining contracts as they sell for more than they are worth.

Get a EVGA 1000Watt PSU and a R9 290 4GB. I purchased the Sapphire video card. How are you with computers? It takes some know how to make this all work? You should try mining a CPU coin to get started. It will give you an idea of what your getting into. Try primecoin it's still easy to mine in a pool.

Yeah I like the altcoin also. I setup my computer at 430KH/s then my brothers machine at 3 MH/s and then we both got into trading on CEX.io (buy low sell high GH/s) this stuff is better than playing games.

Your going to need a pool to setup a machine that isn't on your LAN.

Make sure your using power from the supply that isn't plugged into anything else. Your line should come from the power supply directly to the card. Don't sap any power for a DVD or hard drive.

I started up the Guiminer in solo and it has been running. In the bottom corner it still says Shares 0 accepted. In the other corner it says 32.2 Mhash/s. On the summary page it says  accepted 0(0) stale 0(0)

Is it even working? At least with a pool it looked like something is happening. I know I don't have a chance with a solo at 32.2 but its better then playing the lotto. Assuming its doing work.

A note on uninstalling. Removing the directory isn't enough to uninstall guiminer.
