Batman, you still haven't answered my question.

Lets say the earth is flat and the hiding is a major conspiracy. What would the "conspirators" benefit be from such behaviour? Why it would be hidden, if it were true?

This theory does not make any sense whatsoever, true or not. It doesn't affect our everyday lives.

Thank god for Elwar, hopefully his travels are safe for now. At least he has some stories to tell to his grandchildren Cheesy

So this Baltic Honey Badger, https://bh2019.hodlhodl.com/

It's basically at my doorstep, tickets from €200, a bit expensive or what?
Don't dox yourself. When the economy collapses and you are mysteriously not losing weight like everyone else, you don't want people to know why.

You are right.

Not planning to attend though, just wondering about the ticket prices, seems far too much as Latvia is a fairly poor country.

"Any wonder why I was thinking I was about to follow Dave in 2013/2014 due to Craig's movements during 2012/2013/2014 ?"

A few hours ago Phil tweeted this imo basically saying out loud he was suspicious all along that CSW killed Dave Kleiman. Ive wondered about this myself, his death always sounded really sketchy and without a proper investigation.

The greatest justice ever would be if Craig is guilty of murder and Bitcoiners bring him to justice. Perhaps Calvin will go to prison for accessory to murder after the fact.

Does anyone think Craig is not capable of murdering a paraplegic friend?

He has more than a few screws loose and seems to be a bit of a psycho.

When the first lines are drawn again on the border, there will be far less cultural behavior like rape, murder, robbery, pedophilia, terrorism and violence inside the controlled borders.

In addition. The prerequisite for functional schengen area would be the border control on the outer borders of schengen, which exists in legally but not practically.

Most of the rapists, murderers, pedophiles, terrorists and violent people are let in legally, having borders doesn't change much in here. For example in Finland all those things have risen in the last year and the reason is not open borders but refugees who are let in too easily. Arrived by legal ways.

How big percentage is the "illegal" mass of the travellers?
When there is no border control, there are no illegal travelers, just legal.

Are they wanted beforehand or do they commit crimes where they see fit?
They commit crimes when necessary.

The people who commit crimes and bring "diversity" are allowed to the (at least in Europe) countries legally. Yeah, I mean the "culturally enrichening" folk.
Yes. Millions of such people have entered to Europe since 2015 through Europe's outer controlled borders, which were not controlled. So Europe broke it's own legislation and sovereignty too.

There are criminals always and everywhere, some are just born with a brain like that. Some don't have empathy and there are always people who want to get by easier.
That is why more criminals are not needed to enter into any country and the border control is the path of the least resistance.

Closing/opening borders doesn't change much in that.
The border control is not a "closed/opened border". It is the border control. Anyone with proper documents are able to go through border.

The world is getting more and more digital every day, soon a person wanted by Iraq will be wanted by Latvia as well, with exchanging information. Oh wait, we do have interpol already?
God bless we have.

The last argument will make every other meaningless.

Crime has dropped every single year in my country for the past 25 years, we do have open borders. I'd say that has nothing to do with criminal activities.

We have interpol, we have "face-recognition" cameras amongst things we don't know about. Having borders everywhere would just complicate things, think about international transport and trade.

I do agree we must have some lines drawn, as there are places/people who can't integrate and whose cultural behaviour will never meet the standards of others. People are just different. But in EU the Shengen area has made things much easier, not vice versa and like said, I don't know anything about risen criminal activity, please do educate me if you have any information on that.

But the refugees in Europe don't want to work. They are not even allowed to do so for a few first years (in my country at least). They want free money with a living space.

I used to live in Finland in an area where refugees were massively brought in, I'd say around 95% did not work and had no will to do so. They got more from the government than the lower wages were. I can see similar behaviour when travelling to Sweden or Norway for example. Most of them can't and won't integrate. Not ever.

Most of the garbage handlers in those countries are pale white.

As far as I know EU is very selective when they are picking refugees.

I live in the country which sends you those.  Grin (Turkey)

All the dumber ones are here and from what I see, all the doctors and engineers are leaving to the EU.

You have a point though. There are many who don't want to work too.  But hey, be glad you don't live over here. There is worse than bad.

You guys make the best Kebab Cheesy And Turks are a working folk.

Where I see it we only get the dumber ones and all the "doctors and engineers" are just spoken about in the news, never seen a person who has seen or heard about such a person.

I'm not whining about my living situation Cheesy I love where I am and what I earn, but again, I work hard for it. That's why I dislike the "sliders" and the folk who want everything with doing nothing. It has taken a lot of work to get Europe where it is today, outsiders seem to think it just came to be Smiley money doesn't grow on trees.

Building a country is a too complex thing.

If everyone is below 90IQ, that's a problem. If everyone is above 110IQ that's another problem.

You don't want everyone to be too dumb and you definitely don't want everybody to be too smart neither.

If everybody in a country is a smartass, building crypto mining farms, writing codes, healing people, teaching mathematics...

...who's going to pick up the trash?

Now you see why USA&EU allows refugees.

But the refugees in Europe don't want to work. They are not even allowed to do so for a few first years (in my country at least). They want free money with a living space.

^^^ Your response begets Mathew when he wrote not to cast pearls before swine.

And you ran out of answers in your response.

I still do believe this is a massive April fools trolling attempt, people (with a brain) can't believe in such nonsense, again, there is no reason to do so.
172  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 17, 2019, 07:49:32 PM
I hope we can eventually get rid of this whole countries and borders nonsense. The internet is a good start and hopefully future space-based internet providers will eventually put an end to surface based internet filtering. And of course a global and distributed currency.
Well that’s what the EU is trying to do - get rid of borders. Of course the English want to put up more borders but never mind musn’t grumble
The EU is just shifting the problem to the edge of the EU instead of trying to make borders less relevant.

Please explain, do you mean the refugee problem?

Nevertheless borderless Europe is pretty fcking convenient, especially for someone who travels a lot. Just drive/travel from country to country without any hassle. Shengen area is a blessing.

When there is no border control on the borders, there will border control on the doors of shopping malls," schools, train stations, restaurants, hospitals, roads, highways and so on. And still people will get robbed, raped and killed for the sake of border-less travelling and free movement. So at the end the 20 minutes border control on the borders is pretty convenient procedure to go through.

I just did some background reading on the latest Thai elections that happened in March 2019.  Results come out in May after new king appointed.

Didn't know about the elections, I suppose it's just bad timing then. I guess some newly elected people want a piece of the pie too or just disagree with the whole project but didn't have a say in it until now.
As for the King, he's just a symbol. He's been here for two years since the death of his very popular father. He hadn't been crowned yet because of a mourning period he had to respect. He's completely different from his father, he's a bit hummm exuberant to say the least and really not respected by his people.

It's not easy realizing your dream in this world, good luck to Elwar and his companions.

The new king. Looks/feels like a joke.

Wasn't Elwar advertising the seastead thing quite aggressively? I thought he had all figured out with the government officials.. and it looked like Thailand was giving him a thumbs up.

Wow this is some bad shit and I feel bad for both of them.

I just did some background reading on the latest Thai elections that happened in March 2019.  Results come out in May after new king appointed.

TLDR:  there are 18+ political parties jockeying for position and the scene is best described as chaotic. There is *no one* in the government capable of giving a thumbs up, even if they were so inclined to do so.

I remain of the view that the only thing to do is to get out.   That means crossing a land border or getting out by sea or via an embassy. The idea of trying to cross the land border into Myanmar, Laos or Cambodia gives me the willies.  And he is a long way from those borders.  But I imagine the Malaysian land border is pretty damn tight (never been there).

So getting out by sea or through the US embassy sounds like the only way.   But he is in Phuket(?) and the embassies are in Bangkok which is 550 miles away.

I would be in electronic contact with the US embassy and see whether they would send a car with diplomatic plates to pick me up.  But a US embassy car driving to Phuket would stand out like dogs balls.  So he might need to make the land journey to Bangkok.  And if he has pissed off the USA, that’s bad. Also there is a warrant for his arrest in Thailand do not sure the US government wants to help him.  Him and Nadia need to get back stateside where the whole issue can then get lost in bureaucracy.

Getting out by sea still feels like the most realistic option.

Possible lessons from this: don’t get into trouble.  And if you do get into trouble, run early and run fast before the government has time to get organized.

I highly doubt he has a nation-wide man-search on him. Thailand does have police checkpoints but they are fairly easy to pass, I've never seen them to check wanted "farangs", they're just looking for local drug people mostly. Taking this into consideration it shouldn't be too much of an hassle to get to BKK, even with a VIP bus (12h drive, never seen them checked in a police checkpoint). But yeah, taking the sea route would be the easiest option.

Hopefully he is all right.

^^^ We're inside an engineered high-tech structure. TPTB would prefer that you believe that there is no architect, no engineer, no builder, nobody "above" them, nobody higher, nobody more powerful, nobody more wise. They want to be your gods.

Your claim that it doesn't matter is false.

If they want us to believe there is no architect nor engineer and then be our gods, doesn't that theory clash with itself? If someone wants to be a god they want to be worshipped, ergo make us believe everything has been done/invented by them.

Your logic is flawed.

This theory really doesn't matter. If it did, the "gods" would advertise their creation and beg for worship, which isn't the case.

I ask once more, why?

Genuine question -

If the value of one bitcoin became astronomically high one day & there was a state  ....
No. Stop right there. One thing or the other.
No more fucking states.
No more slavery.
Bitcoin.

People are a large herd, most of us need someone to lead us or there would be just plain chaos. Hence we need states (and maybe slavery, to keep things in balance).

90% of the people have shades on and whatever you do or say, you can't (won't) convince them.

Nice GIF btw!

Yes, he was, and it always sounded very crazy (and strange TBH) to me.

Hrm, he did look like smarter than an average person in the videos and I did not see much craziness in there, maybe just next level commitment.

Still, I hope he is well and will get this shit sorted out, having Thai officials chase you can't be too pleasant.

Genuine question -

If the value of one bitcoin became astronomically high one day & there was a state or island somewhere that was strictly bitcoin only as a monetary transfer of value would you emigrate to there?

It’s something I’ve long thought about & I most certainly would to be honest. It’d be great to live amongst like minded people.

Depends on many things but the answer is probably yeah, obviously.

They need to have a fair climate and a working infrastructure. But I guess an accepting state would have that with astronomically high BTC prices Smiley
