161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin, dogecoin, and litecoin the same ?? on: February 07, 2016, 04:02:02 PM
IMO an altcoin like Doge can never come close to price of bitcoin simply because there is so many of it available and growing everyday!

Of course, and this is not the proper indicator of value of any altcoin.
There are 100.000.000.000 DOGE and 21.000.000 Bitcoins planned to be distributed.
21.000.000/100.000.000.000 = 1/4760 = 0.00021000.

So, DOGE to be as valuable as bitcoin should cost about 21000 satoshi. IMHO it won't be even 500.
162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's stopping people from using bitcoin? on: February 07, 2016, 03:53:16 PM
I think lack of knowledge related to latest technology is stopping people from using bitcoins, and the other reason is bitcoin is not that popular in many countries and that is the reason people are not adopting bitcoin as a currency or a payment system.

Not only technology knowledge, but the overall change in thinking about money is required. For many people, BTC is like some tricky thing from the internet, thus it can't be treated seriously, as well as many other "computer, virtual" things.
163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Take it from me: Bitcoin will NOT die in our lifetime. on: February 05, 2016, 08:12:58 PM
these are just the rumors that bitcoin will die, a large scale of industries are now running on bitcoin at online. Their use is a big support to it. Plus there are a large number of people who support to make it international digital currency, not only the capitalist but socialist are also attractive to it.

LOL, Socialists? They'd rather premine all blocks and the "evenly" distribute coins among people Cheesy
164  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin in 2020 on: February 05, 2016, 07:47:26 PM
It could be 0 or 1000000 who knows. I have my idea though

Yes, it could be 1000000 if the major powers gave intension to it, and they adopt it as their worldwide currency and support it, plus the people adopt it with more interest. But there are no chances in my view to reach zero as bitcoin is proven why it is invented and it's a necessary solution for digital world.

You are true, there are a number of people who are saying about the bitcoin price to reach at 0 , I think how foolish they are. How can a currency reach to 0. there are chances and a number of currencies have faced the lowest fraction of 1 but did not reached 0.

You're right, but this is no the point of discussion. If someday bitcoin will cost 0,00000001 $ it will be practically dead. Number of decimals does not matter if coin has no practically value.
165  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is it wise to invest in miners few months before reward halving? on: February 03, 2016, 06:36:07 PM
I think the time to make a profit before the 1/2ing has passed.  You're better trying to grab a miner after the prices adjust themselves afterwards.  Gives you time to hunt for a deal on an exchange Tongue

But will the price discount equalize the loss of efficiency? IMO ASIC manufacturers will show something 2x effective and today's hi-end miners will become usefull only during harsh winter. and not for mining purposes Tongue
166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Europe wants end to anonymous Bitcoin transactions on: February 03, 2016, 06:21:57 PM
i think that they are not understanding that you can not stop a decentalized system

old generation is still not well aware how a decentralization work, yes they can hinder adoption, but adoption currently it's a joke anyway, only geek people are using bitcoin basically...

But they could try to control fiat-BTC exchanges - it would be not that hard and quite effective from the EU point of view. Ironically it could help BTC to become payment mean, not speculation asset, as spme people could feel discouraged to convert BTC to fiat and conversely.
167  Other / Off-topic / Re: 2016, The Year of Bitcoin? on: February 03, 2016, 06:15:19 PM
Year 2016 has good potential IMO, Bitcoin already begun becoming a mainstream thing and news coverage is increasing even more right now... BTC is one of the new big things in technological field.

Along with the news coverage and mainstream adoptions, there is a big event within bitcoin ecosystem called halving.
The rewards of every block is going to get half. When the supplay getting reduced, it would take the value of bitcoin into moon. So, 2016 is going to be 'year of bitcoin'.
But there is no guarantee that the Bitcoin price will increase after the halving. It will still be the 'year of Bitcoin' though.
IMO, every year is 'year of Bitcoin'. Roll Eyes

On every year's beginning people are excited about possible opportunities, including bitcoin,  as there are over 300 day left to the next year, whe everything can happen. It's only symbolic, but influential thinking.
What about halving? Maybe ASIC manufacturers will quickly announce 2x more efficient chips and the whole impact of halving will be counteracted?
168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Dollar on: February 02, 2016, 09:59:17 AM
for now the dollar rules the world. but the next few years bitcoin will dominate world trade in these

But I remember at one time 1 BTC was worth 23$ but now the value of bitcoin increases more than 20 times and reaches to 500$. I believe at one day it will cross 1000$ also. In terms of value appreciations already bitcoin is ruling.

yeah, i am totally agree with your suggestion after few month bitcoin's price will cross 1000$ the reason bitcoin's user are continuously increasing and its worth is also increasing so i think in future dollar worth will be more crass than bitcoin worth.

Not only the price increase value is important, but also the reasons. In November 2013 BTC was @1200$, but it started falling down several weeks later. If the price rise is caused by some pump action performed by whales, or ocassionally by any other occurence, it has no really value for the long-term perspective.
169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your first bitcoins came from.. (faucets aside) on: February 02, 2016, 09:53:22 AM
I've bougth 1 BTC for 30$ in June 2011, but sold it quickly as the first price bubble started to crash. Next one I've mined 2-3 months later with HD6950 (took me about a day) and sold for about 5$

170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining faucet on: February 02, 2016, 07:29:07 AM
There have been several discussions about how, in order for Bitcoin to have a stable economic foundation and continue to grow, we must get bitcoins into as many people's hands as possible.  Instead of putting pressure on those who have already saved up large quantities of bitcoins to find ways to spend / distribute them for the "greater good", I think it makes more sense to try to direct newly minted currency toward new users.

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in the idea of a "charity" mining pool, where the proceeds would be distributed to new users just like the Bitcoin Faucet does, except in larger quantities (perhaps 1 BTC / person?).  If the mining faucet runs dry, payout requests would go to a waiting list.  Even if the miners weren't earning any profits from this directly, over time it should start to drive up the value of their savings by increasing demand for bitcoins.

The substantial payouts would probably make this more of a target for abuse than the existing Faucet... what security measures would you recommend beyond the Google account verification that the Faucet uses?

Giving away 1 BTC per person?Huh? What, are you King of Brunei?

WTF man, this thread is 5 years old. Thede days BTC was worth 1$.
171  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I am out of the mining game :( on: February 01, 2016, 07:48:59 PM
Sad to hear you lost money on that one. I guess that with the current prices (that are somewhat low) it is harder yet. Have you tried POS coins? You can invest a little and not risk much. I love NETcoin for example, that provides some interest in the form of newly staked coins every few (six) hours.

You have to catch the moment when you have get some coins, but price hadn't fall down too much. Every POS coin is vulnerable to inflation and massive dumps. Greed is the major enemy of POS coins holders.
172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: February 01, 2016, 07:41:05 PM
i think this faucet may helps you to grow your bitcoins.
Its not too much fast but its a way to grow your bitcoins.
http://satoshi4you.com/
The process of faucet is very slow but need to be patience on it. Its better we need to join a good signature campaign and it will pay you the best in bitcoins.

I do not agree that faucets are slow. We need to select good and reliable faucets. After completing my daily/weekly target for signature campaign I do faucets. I believe one satoshi will be worth some cents in future. It means I am now earning some dollars from every faucet claim.

I have been thinking that way too until I realise, that one good post here is like few hours of mindless captcha clicking. Think about your time like an valuable asset and that will make you more effective in multiple fileds.
173  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you still believe in bitcoin on: February 01, 2016, 07:34:59 PM
Some people argue that only those who do not believing bitcoin's future, will spend their bitcoins.
But, I do not think that it does not mean the spenders are not believing in bitcoin. If we want a big boom from bitcoin then we can save bitcoins, otherwise we can start using it for daily needs.....

The truth is, that most of the people spending bitcoins are gamblers, who have such big faith in bitcoin that they want them more and more right now  Cheesy
174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I "Think" that I found Satoshi Nakamoto on: February 01, 2016, 07:32:25 PM
The community is so cynical that if he did step forward nobody would believe it was him! I think he probably knows that and wouldnt waste his time trying to prove who he is. Meaning he will continue to remain anom.

It would be very easy for him to prove he was satoshi by signing a message from any of the old bitcoin addresses that are known to be his.

I know a woman that claims that he is her baby daddy. Smiley

Does it mean, that she has a pretty, cute round 1 BTC in her wallet?  Cheesy

People like the mysteries and the person who stands behind such big thing like Bitcoin, and decided to become anonymous is quite abstruse = worth their interest. Second thing is, that many people are involved in to the bitcoin universum and when they are waiting for the price going moon, they read everything and discuss about Bitcoin. So why not about its mysterious creator, who was such ordinary btctalk user like we all ? Smiley

The account is still on Newbie so I think the slow paying faucet will help his bitcoin earnings grow a little bit.

I don't want to suggest to buy a forum account since it will just lead to a bad posting result. That doing can be done later while posting here in this forum.
Also at some sig campaigns they check your previous posts quality and many times they don't accept you if you don't hit a quality

I've been rejected from one campaing because of the gap in my posts history. So If you plan to attend the best paying capaingns in the future, you have to consider also other factors Smiley But the posts quality is most important one.
176  Economy / Speculation / Re: Everyone is hyping about bitcoin price in 2016 on: February 01, 2016, 07:02:35 PM
This concerns me about what will happen to bitcoin price after 2016 ? Will it crash after the block halving ? Is there any upcoming incident in 2017-18 that may push the price up again ?
i dont understand why it would crash after the halfing lol. after halfing it would be the same bitcoin as before but with a reduced supply. if nything should happen to bitcoin it would be that the price would increase cuz the supply went down

Like someone that I don't remember that it on the forum, it could crash because a lot of people that bought in the big bubble could sell in the big pump that will come with the halving to have their investment back.

World's interest in Bitcoin is quite significant already, comparing to the past years, so the market won't let falling that much. Some people will say, that 300$ is a good price to buyback, others would say that 250 and so on. I doubt if the proce will go under 200$ again.
177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you earn a lot of free bitcoins fast? on: February 01, 2016, 04:32:23 PM
Bitcoin is dropping like a rock,

No, it's not. You mean change from 389 to 379$?

Quote
You might trade your bitcoins for altcoins, which trade and increase rapidly (but be careful and do your homework because sometimes they fall rapidly too!) let them rise against bitcoin - then trade back into bitcoin for more coins.

Pump - price rises, dump - price falls. Nothing new.
178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's stopping people from using bitcoin? on: February 01, 2016, 08:18:55 AM
I think one of the main reasons that people aren't using bitcoin, is because they like fiat and they don't want to change currencies.
I think you have a point, but I think the great thing that makes people stop using bitcoin is because the price is not stable, it is also the main reason that makes large investors stop using bitcoin because the invested capital at current prices $ 600-700 bitcoin still at that moment must have now will feel disadvantaged

Absolutely right, it's many reasons why someone stoping people for using bitcoin.. for some this week, fluctuations is so terrible. It can down almost one hundred dollars.

Some people may feel like playing on stock market, where they have to watch prices and make quick decisions. How can we convince them, that they will benefit from using bitcoin? Volatility is the main obstacle in the process of wide adaptation.
179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: February 01, 2016, 08:15:25 AM
I have found a recent way to earn some BTC that is by sharing links using credhot. If you use to share links with your friends and such, you can get some bits by sharing links using that. Is shorta faucet like, but can be bigger if you have many people clicking your links.

I have this one too but I am too shy to post so many shortened links because people sometimes get angry if there are too many posts. And I dont want that to happen. So I just post like 2 links a day and I get some satoshis free.

I would find this a bit annoying, if friend would be asking me to click some worthless links. It's really hard to get active referrals for anything, but even when I was trying my principle was to not involving friends and family. Good relations are more important than few satoshis Smiley
180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future of Bitcoin on: January 31, 2016, 01:49:57 PM
I think Bitcoin is still growing, even in the future.
People can better save their Bitcoin and exchange later if it has a higher price.
it is something that may happen in the future, I think like that, bitcoin will be more famous and grow into something important and well known by everyone, as well as bitcoin prices will rise

Yes bitcoin becoming famous and the bitcoin price raise are happening at the same time. In future, bitcoin will be more famous so that it would be valued more. So, that it will be known by everyone.

Yes bitcoin is getting more famous now a days and there is no doubt that bitcoin will rule over the world as the online shopping and online recharge is increasing day by day. People want the faster way to transfer money like bitcoin always. This will ensure the bright future of bitcoins.
I hope it will happen while im studying it from now since im newbie i will try to collect some bitcoins in any sources.. but didnt know where can start..

Maybe signature campaign?  There are 2 available for Newbie Members:
