161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NKN - New Kind of Network on: October 01, 2019, 01:03:52 PM
Are there any node owners here? How often you got rewards? I setup several nodes more than 24h ago, but no one reward yet.
It is very random. My first NKN block took me 2 hours, the next one took 4 weeks.
Tnx, I needed just indicative time frames to be shure that my nodes work fine.
So, as I understood, the frequency of rewards is almost not affected by technical aspects, but the location of the node influences.

It depends mainly on luck (maybe 80%), then on location (how many other nodes are close to yours) and then maybe network latency.

164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: September 24, 2019, 02:57:34 PM
Vitalik believes that Ethereum developers will succeed in introducing the "Ethereum 2.0 by early 2020". TBH, this looks quite big, as it has been in under development for years:

Vitalik Buterin: “Very confident” about phase zero of Ethereum 2.0

https://decrypt.co/7885/vitalik-buterin-bitcoin-cash-ethereum-scalability

I must admit that as a big holder of ADA, I'm kind of hating this news. Tongue In the past, Vitalik has failed many times in the past in respecting the deadlines (provided by him), will it happen again?

OTOH, another big news for Ethereum:

Cryptocurrency Payments Processor BitPay Adds Support for Ether

https://cointelegraph.com/news/cryptocurrency-payments-processor-bitpay-adds-support-for-ether

this ethereum-scalability is way overdue and the hype is already done, the smart contracts hype is done, the ico hype is done.
the next phase of crypto now is dapps. as we can see eos dapps now way more advanced than ethereum dapps and network.
https://dappradar.com/rankings/protocol/eos/
the scammers are creating more legit dapp now, instead of creating endless scam ico, people are now creating working dapp which is legit and the income keep flowing in.
more and more blockchains now are focus on dapp platform.

oh, the chinese already way ahead in dapps.

dApps cannot prosper while TX price is high. Before masternodes it will be pretty expensive.

Guys. Just remember : all of russian crypto projects - scams.

I got also burned by several Russian ones already,
but some great ideas and tech come from Russia.
Although this one has slow dev rate, hopefully it will succeed.
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: September 13, 2019, 07:18:24 AM
Santander a Spanish banking giant settled both sides of a $20 Million bond trade on the ethereum network. That's great right? Nice to see the real-world is slowly but steadly embracing the power of blockchain.

https://www.coindesk.com/santander-settles-both-sides-of-a-20-million-bond-trade-on-ethereum

Yes, it's great. Unfortunately, there are very few such cases. Companies prefer to use a variety of proprietary solutions built on the Hyperledger or even based on the Ethereum but on a private version.

169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best CPU Mineable Coins in 2019 and CPU Mining Guides [UPDATED!] on: September 04, 2019, 09:42:41 AM
You can use your GPU rig's CPU to mine MHC coins.
It requires just a little % of your CPU

this coin is not MINEABLE in true meaning - just staking, not hashing
only 1000 lending is goody for this coin, as for me

I agree, however I added it so even people with very slow CPUs, which usually
stay idle all the time in some GPU rig which stays online 24/7 anyway, can also be used for something profitable.
Even better, it barely uses any CPU resources, so no increase in power draw from forging MHC coins.

What plans do you have to overcome this limitation?
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best CPU Mineable Coins in 2019 and CPU Mining Guides [UPDATED!] on: September 03, 2019, 08:22:29 PM
I'm just about to renew my desktop computer. I won't use it primarily for mining but it doesn't hurt to think about making that machine somewhat profitable.

What would be your CPU choice in the mid-range?
($150-200)

ryzen 5 3600 without any doubt
it is the best in performance in this price range
and pretty well equipped for mining coins too

I disagree. Currently the more cores you have the better (for mining).

Ryzen 5 3600 has 6 cores / 12 threads.
Ryzen 7 1700 has 8 cores /16 threads and is a 65W CPU which can go to 3.6Ghz even if you pick a dud, without any overvolting.
Ryzen 7 2700 has 8 cores /16 threads and is also 65W, plus it is made with smaller 12nm process so it is a bit more power efficient than 1700.

I would focus on 1700 or 2700 for mining for this budget. Second hand is even better.
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Network Minable Coins List on: August 29, 2019, 10:47:21 PM
Storj Coin. Mining through sharing your hard drive free space.

This is not really a coin where all you need is internet. Because if you go on this path, you'll end up adding Bitcoin and Litecoin, because all you need is internet, and an ASIC and some software. I hope that you understand my point.
Also, if you are interested in HDD mining, there's also BURST. I don't know though which of the two (Storj vs Burst) is better/more profitable and so on.

You are correct to some extent. If you forget the several hundred dollars worth of specialized hardware, which can only mine one algo.
I'll check Burst too, thanks!
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best CPU Mineable Coins in 2019 and CPU Mining Guides [UPDATED!] on: August 29, 2019, 12:29:35 PM
You can use your GPU rig's CPU to mine MHC coins.
It requires just a little % of your CPU to run the Metagather app.
No open ports or such needed, just a 24/7 running PC. They will lend you the first 1000 coins
so you can start earning your own MHC coins.

174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Rifiuti's CPU coins to Mine (2019-2020) on: August 29, 2019, 12:22:00 PM
Your CPU can be also used to run a network node for Metahash network.
Payout is good, the coin is added to several exchanges.

If you don't want to run an advanced node, you can run a simple -> Metagather client
which requires very little CPU power and internet. No open ports or anything.
The team will lend you a 1000 free coins so you can start forging your own coins
by just being online 24/7.
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Network Minable Coins List on: August 29, 2019, 12:17:39 PM
Storj Coin. Mining through sharing your hard drive free space.
Currently the payout is x4 times bigger than original to encourage new farmers.
If you have a static, real IP, a spare PC which is online 24/7 anyway (or atleast one core) plus several hundreds GB of free space,
you can share them with anyone who wants to upload content on storj network as in any other cloud.

Keep in mind that to fill up your 1TB HDD you will have to run 1TB of traffic through your
network.

Is this project still alive or developers left this? As I see their github has not any activity since July (for more than month):

https://github.com/uPlexa?tab=repositories

What news here at all? When mainnet is should be released?

Please join the Discord and see the Devs progress yourself.
Mainnet is available for several months, even the tile of the topic you are writing at is called Mainnnet.
As you know August is vacation month and all the sweet stuff will happen in September/October.
And if you follow the project, they will be sweet news indeed Smiley
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO]⚡ Metahash - cryptocurrency for decentralized apps⚡ on: August 22, 2019, 07:17:53 PM
How about you stop sending your minions out to spam every other server on Discord. If you have to spam you are nothing but shit. I will come back again and agin every time if it doesnt stop and I will put bounties out for others to do the same. If you were reasonable with your marketing then maybe you wouldnt be pissing people off who will now have nothing to do with your project.
I'd like to point out to the community, if they are willing to over step like this and practice such disrespectful procedures what do expect they will do with your funds?
Good Luck with that nonsense.

Unfortunately there is no special bounty for "spamming". The marketing strategy is not much different than the other coins: Bring new users to the project. Simple as that. I also hate spammers, but I never got a a message for Metahash.
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best CPU Mineable Coins in 2019 and CPU Mining Guides [UPDATED!] on: August 22, 2019, 06:23:56 PM
Metahash coin is somewhat CPU minable.
You can leave one of your CPU cores to mine it. It uses torrent technology
and runs on almost any hardware. If you don't have your own coins to start forging,
you can visit their website and sign up. They will give you 1000 rental coins so you can start
forging your own. It is perfect for GPU rigs which have a free CPU.

Cheesy

Guys, please change your ticker. UPX is already taken by Uplexa coin.
It is somewhat hard to believe you have such a huge team and nobody noticed
that you are using another coin's ticker.
