This is not KMC develop team problem.
This is problem in customer care and crap quality of service by Comcort. Leaving customers without any knowledge about situation is really bad customer care. In seven days anybody can write one or two sentences on the side for keep customers informed. It just show that they do not care.
And all this without any kind preliminary warning about coming situation on KMC trade side and still without any information about current situation.
If this is quality of service by Comcort - just run away as fast as you can and do not touch Comcort even with long wooden stick. This is not way how handle "customers" - even small customers.
The warning is pretty obvious though, it is in the denomination of the coin - imagine you are an exchange and you make your money with the trading margins. To cut down wallet transaction costs, only withdrawls and deposits are actual transactions done with wallets. Everything else is just information somewhere stored in the database ( person X owns this much, person Y owns that much, etc). The moment the value of the coin goes out of sync with the balances in the database you'll have to manually update the balances and perhaps the total transaction history. As stated before, no other coin has probably done this until now. So they'll have to make a patch for it, verify it on a testing environment and roll it out nice and gently. So please stop slapping Comkort unless you can do it better. Everyone please contact Comkort. I think we will get more results if they hear from more people than just me. Otherwise we could look for a different exchange or build one ourselves. I'm very busy today, maybe I can find some time to study it this weekend.
I'll contact Comkort as well. Eventhough it is probably an interesting exercise, I don't think building an exchange yourselves is the greatest idea unless you are hardcores backend developers with sufficient knowledge of locking mechanism and a lot of free time

For anyone still using the old wallet (for example you were on vacation and your server has been happily minting ever after), you are syncing and minting on the wrong chain. - Backup your wallet.dat file (default for windows: from C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Roaming\FairCoin) - Download and install the latest wallet from http://fair-coin.org/#wallet- Make sure the wallet is no longer running - Delete all files except the wallet.dat from the directory mentioned above - Change to your FairCoin homedir (on windows C:\Program Files\FairCoin and start a cmd prompt there. If you are using Explorer, once changed to that dir, simply type cmd in the location bar) - Run FairCoin-qt.exe -rescan - Wait for the blockchain to sync - Go to Help --> Debug Window --> Console - Type repairwallet at the prompt

Breaking news july 31th: A cooperative of about 4000 members has endorsed faircoin
A cooperative of about 4000 members interested in to promote the fair economy, has decided to endorse faircoin and is working in a project for the publical promotion and extension of faircoin that will be published with all the details in september. Because they want to lead directly the communication of their campaign we are not authorised to publish more details at the moment. This will be a big step for our community, and we call everybody to be involved and be part of this faircoin and fair economy project, when becames released.
From what I know, I think that FairCoin is a legit investment: - As promised, the team is still succesful taking care of FairCoin. - To secure the network and the propogation of the blockchain we've squashed some serious bugs and switched to Grøstl. - Beyond expectations we now give you interesting plans for september. - Working together with Moolah and MintPal Learn more about Grøstl at http://www.groestl.info/: "Grøstl is a new cryptographic hash function designed in response to the Cryptographic Hash Algorithm Competition announced by NIST. Grøstl is one of the five finalists in the competition and it is a tweaked version of its predecessor called Grøstl-0, the original submission to the competition." faircoin is still alive!
@frankkkkkkk; I've corrected that sentence for ya ;-) All I can say more is, that if you wan't to be seriously involved into FairCoin, don't wait until it's too late. FairCoin can be bought at MintPal: https://www.mintpal.com/market/FAC/BTC

USDe is currently working with a new dev and we are watching the algorithm migration of a few coins closely. Transitioning to a new algorithm is not as easy as some people may think, and although we would have liked to be one of the first to make such a migration, this unfortunately did not happen, so for now we will observe some other coins and see how successful their transition is and proceed from there.
We (FairCoin) have succesfully moved from Scrypt to Grøstl. It took a hardfork and some extensive testing on our TestNet, but everything is working fine now. The only remark is that we've a PoS coin and are using Grøstl to keep the blockchain moving - so the mining reward is less important to us (as long as it is low, stable and is hard to abuse ) - http://www.groestl.info/- https://github.com/FairCoinTeam/ - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=702675.0

Again an interesting and fruitful meeting yesterday - but still too much material to discuss in such little time Sunday will be the next meeting. In the meanwhile I'm on TestNet testing out the new wallet...

1. Go to your Kimocoin appdata folder > C:\Users\Jacob\AppData\Roaming\KimoCoin 2. Make a backup copy of wallet.dat (optional, but a good idea) 3. Delete chainstate, blocks, database, and peers.dat 4. Then open up cmd, then go to your kimocoin-qt.exe directory, like mine is C:\Users\Jacob\Downloads 5. Type kimocoin-qt.exe -rescan 6. Add some nodes to get connected: Help > Debug > Console addnode kimocoin.com add addnode p2pool-eu.kimocoin.com add addnode kmc.1js.us add addnode dice.kimocoin.com add 7. It will resync and re-download all the blocks and update the chainstate
These instructions are only if you have trouble, it should sync without this.
This did the trick and a new bid of 28M from me!

I think it will be good if the coin relaunches so it has greater prospective.
Hi gofoter, That would just be silly and a waste of money... Seriously... Personally I think we're doing quite well actually :-) We have: - still a relatively rare coin (just 50.000.000+ coins) - a really nice wallet in available for three major OS'es - a network that is slowly but surely generating blocks - a lovely place to exchange coins - an development team that shares ideas on a regular basis. Only the community is somewhat quiet

10M from me. Is it possible to declare it like 20USD package? I will handle the consequences.
Thanks for your bid. I can declare according to your instructions--but I cannot be responsible if there are problems with customs. It's better to offer a truthful declaration and pay the tax. Could I offer here for example some parts of my not used anymore scrypt mining machine? Used MB, CPU, RAM or so? Im also thinking about auction one of my Antminers S1, but maybe there is not so many KMC in the world to pay for it Really nice to hear your enthusiasm and support for KMC, trading real world items is the best use of KMC. Sent a PM about it. We're having a KMC only auction for a brand new 500GB USB 3.0 External Hard Drive with free worldwide shipping. Who will bid 15M KMC? 20 million KMC from me :-)

Superb coin to mine! - It still mines like crazy - from what I've seen, KMC is in good hands with jacob019 - the market is quite active - and - thank god for that - no asic bs unless someone makes memory dirt cheap hahaha!

I have an idea to build some value for KMC. Would like to do a KMC auction, if it goes well we can do one every week.
Any suggestion how take bids? We could just post them here, but maybe there's a better way.
This new site http://bidcoind.com/ is trying to create a lot of buzz. I still have to investigate it though. Maybe you can use it for KMC as well? It supports Auctions ;-)

Matches nice with the logo :-)

The reward is going down rapidly, difficulty is going through the roof (relatively speaking )

FairCoin is now supported on bidcoind. Anyone has experience with their platform? www.bidcoind.comEveryone is talking about merchant integration for their coin, saying that theirs will be the one, well if you don't start to demonstrate merchant application for it, then who else will? CPI - The Consumer Price Index for all Crypto Currencies, what will say more about a crypto currency when there is more quality stuff for sale in exchange. Sell quality stuff for your coin and generate publicity for your favorite coin +1 Get more of the coins you like by selling your new or used items + 1 Get Marinecoins on the side by merchant mining them without extra effort +1

For that people that aren't reading in on http://forum.fair-coin.org/index.php?topic=32.0, here's a list of the known merchants, resources and exchanged. Unfortunately the cooperation between FairCoin and bittrex has ended due to low volume on the Bittrex market. If you have any coins there still, I'd recommend to move them to your own wallet or MintPal for now. List of Merchants:List of ExchangesList of Resources

The faucet balance is up to nearly 3M. Thank you to all donors, we have a really great group here! At the current payout average of 10,000, that will service 300 draws. The increased payout is working, as the faucet has been much more active. After reviwing the faucet log, I'm pleased to report that we have several payouts to new addresses. Only three days left until we reach the 100,000 block reward, so this is the time to start growing our community. If the faucet balance continues to grow, I will increase the average payout again. I would urge our top stakeholders to check on it periodically and continue to make donations as needed to keep the faucet service running strong.
No problem, I'll keep a close watch on the faucet
