FairCoin is a decentralized cryptocurrency based on an innovative blockchain technology, which has been changed in July 2017 from a Proof-of-Stake protocol to a Proof-of-Cooperation (PoC) mechanism. Due to those improvements, FairCoin not only requires significantly less energy, enables faster transactions and provides a more secure network than other blockchain-based currencies but also introduces a certain level of trust and democratic values on both the human and the technical level. It has been built with a clear value set in mind to bridge economic gaps on a regional and global level.

FairCoin was adopted and mainly used by the FairCoop Ecosystem, amongst others. Its aim is to be a is a powerful tool for a decentralized ecosystem of cooperative networks by providing independence from central banks, financial institutions, and governments due to its inherent technology. Compared to other cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin, its value is stable and frequently adjusted from the community by consensus.

Due to the change to PoC, mining and mining is no longer necessary.
Thus the max. supply of 53 193 831.467966 FAIR has already been reached and will not increase.


Remark: "FairCoin" (FAIR) has NOTHING to do with "FairGames" (FAIR), which are using the same abbreviation in exchanges, even though FairCoin is using it since back in 2014. Be careful to get the right FairCoin, which is a real cryptocurrency with its own blockchain and NOT an ERC20 token.

This is a hard fork release (@block 15555) (planned about thursday!). Please update your wallet immediately. If you do not update you won't be able to sync to the network and you even might loose coins.
WARNING: always backup your wallet.dat file prior updating

Change log(v1.1.0):
- added new checkpoint and activated synchronous checkpointing
- re-activated mining for the following algos: grøstl, scrypt and sha256
  remember this is NOT a PoW coin but PoS, if you mine this coin you only supports the network.
  The reward is only 10 satoshis
- unlock wallet menu item and unlock wallet button (to easily start minting blocks)
- updated to Qt5
- testnet optimizations
- immediate availability of binaries for the following operation systems:
  Linux 32 and 64bit, Windows 32 and 64bit, Mac OS X and RasperryPi

Mintpal confirmed that they are already running the latest version of the wallet (v1.1.0). It is very important that you all update too, to be able to withdraw and deposit FairCoins there.

You will not be able to connect to the main network after block 15555!
