The people coming in this thread and saying TiPS is dead are trolling. If you don't like a coin, participate in a thread of a coin you do own. Even if that were true, why would you take joy in others losing money?
We do need to start making more progress asap though. Weeks are passing without major improvements, and this is a lifetime in the world of altcoins. Dropping prices present an opportunity to buy in cheap, but without advancement the price will continue to plummet. I really don't see any leadership from the TiPS team, and the lack of consumer confidence is the reason for the precipitous drop.
Pictures of people in hats really don't sell the coin, especially if its TiPS, not Fedoracoin. I still don't think most investors understand what the name of this coin is.
I don't even know, I think there may be improvements, but the devs hang out in IRC. There needs to be someone from the devs, kind of a superviser in charge of the forum here, who connects the activities of the community and the devs. Like a messenger if you will, because right now, there is absolutely no communication. No one, really no one knows what work, if any at all, is done on this coin. And if the community even doesn't know, then how should all the other people in crypto know?!?! We need a dev here asap. Not everyone wants to be in IRC. Bitcointalk is important also, it should not be abandoned for discussion and the working together of the community. |

Lots of TiPS sold last night..about 250 ltc at a low price point. My guess is that our coin got so cheap that someone bought a huge quantity and will drive the price up like they did 2 weeks ago.
You are guessing it wrong. When supply is more than demand, the price falls. Weeks ago TIPS were having relatively stable price at 38-40 latoshi, but those 2-3 days the coin barely can reach 30. You can now guess what will be the next level if marketing continiue as it is now. The problem is also that a huge amount of new coins are being mined, while the difficulty is still low. There are 180 billion coins already, many of the being dumped instantly. I think that even apart from the totally non existing marketing, this coin will rise when difficulty will get higher. Now would be a good buying opportunity I suppose. There are "dev's" with 10-20 coins and they create them with goals for fast profit. Those things are ruining the market and I think that banks are laughing at us atm. I'm just tired with Fedora tho.. Agreed, this huge number of pump and dump coins being created constantly, drains the "good" altcoins. However, despite the lack of a marketing campaign and lack of communication between devs and community with this coin, I still see this coin gaining value in the coming months. |

The problem I also start to see with this coin is that there is no real communication between the devs and the community.
The community was very active several times during the lifetime of this coin, many ideas came up, people were really eager
to promote the coin. However, due to the total lack of communication and/or interest in the actitivities of the community, the
growing interest in this coin soon began to fade.
Hanging out in IRC all day long might be good for software development, but not for marketing.
This coin has no conclusive marketing effort at all, even though it has good devs and technology behind it.
Pity is, no one knows about the cool features of tips.

Whats going on right now? I bought back in at 33, and now its dropped down to 28. We got to start making progress because this coin keeps sinking.
If you want to make a quick buck, sell your tips and go to doge or something else. I got bored of constantly watching the markets for the last 12 months non stop, so I have sold all and invested into tips and put into cold storage for months and gaining some of my life back. If it tips fails, I loose $3000, if it suceeeds I stand to gain $100k or more depending on the price of course. Yes I have alot of tips. During the next major bitcoin rally, which I suppose will happen sometime during summer this year, all good alts will explode like there's no tomorrow. Tips will be among them. If you just have patience and do not crap your pants when tips fall below 30 Litoshi, then you're good to go. I also have a lot of tips  |

A 30-50 million market cap range is a real possibility half a year or a year from now. Taking into account the number of coins mined until then, we might be at a total of 250 billion coins. That's 5 times more than the number of dogecoins. Dogecoin is at 60 million market cap, and currently valued at 6100 Litoshi. So at a similar market cap with 5 times the coins, we'd be at around 1000 Litoshi. Of course, the projected market cap could be way off. It really depends on the things that are coming the next months for tips, if it will have good marketing, maintaining a growing community, etc. Many ifs. But still, not an unrealistic scenario. |

You ain't joking right ? What if you turn on your computer and do your part of work ? TIPS dev team better give good signs soon. It's becoming really long. No trust in them anymore. We all got full time jobs, we all have real life responsibilities. If you want the price to go up you should be evangelizing. Plenty of opportunity to spread the word on reddit / irc / bitcointalk. This community needs doers right now. Multipools are still dumping and we need to recruit more hashpower to keep the miners sights off of us. Even with Kimoto G-Well we're still facing an onslaught of sell-offs. We increase hash, we increase diff. If we increase diff we reduce our coin profitability, and the multipools will stay away. They stay away, our price can go back up. The reason the price of TiPS went up to 150 litoshi before was because the strip miners removed the coin from their software. Without the massive selloffs, our coin was actually able to grow. 3 days. In 3 days we were able to skyrocket. Invisibel, this is obviously a concern, but the biggest threat right now is multipools. Would you please consider an additional tweak to the difficulty algorithm so that multipools cannot target anymore? I think。。Difficulty retargets every block I totally agree. Too much dumpers. I am mining Fedora for long term. Don't worry , 2 weeks left ,and price will increase step by step  Huge accumulation in past weeks, like $ 5-6 million, it is only a matter of time, TIPS capitalize very different values... Most people expect tips to skyrocket to a few hundred Litoshi in a short time period. They see huge pumps on coinmarketcap on a daily basis and are sad that Tips is not among them. But actually, that's a good thing. Tips will increase slowly, but steadily over the next months. It's not a pump and dump like auroracoin or mazacoin, or all the other senseless pump and dump coins out there, which have no inherent value at all, which don't contribute in any way to the altcoin landscape. Tips however, does havce unique features, does have good devs, an active community. Tips will grow and grow, and as difficulty increases, multipool dumping will decrease. But of course, people want to make a lot of BTCs in a very short time. Tips is one of the best longterm investments of all the altcoins right now. Honestly, if I had more BTC, I would all spend them for Tips right now. The target value of Tips is at around 1000 Litoshi. And we're not talking a year timeframe here, but months. People should just learn to have patience and not expect huge gains on a week timeframe. Coins that rise slow and steady are the ones that will be around in a few years time, not the pump and dump scams with +800% increases in 24h, those are forgotten very fast. Who will be talking about Mazacoin and the likes six months from now? Exactly, no one. But who will be talking about tips six months from now? Many! |

woah, what's going on with TIPS ? Has something been announced as the market is going crazy and upwards
I think it's got to do with the recovery of bitcoin from the Mt Gox debacle. Bitcoin has bounced back from 400 to 520, which in turn positively affects the altcoins as well. Tips, being by far the coolest altcoin out there (as everyone knows), is of resuming its rise from the day before yesterday. And it's slower than other alts, which imho shows that this is probably not a pump and dump, but a nice and steady rise. Go tips, go !!! |

The comments on CNN's front page story really shows how the public is rooting for bitcoin to fail. early adopters of bitcoin will be majorly hated dont expect anything else Guys, it's just the usual cycle of breakthrough technologies. It will be the same as the bashers who called it a dead ponzi after the first crash and then continued to call it a ponzi during the next boom. They have no interest in learning about it. I think it will take full blown currency crisis before they spend some time trying understand what Bitcoin is. That's exactly the thing, bitcoin is quite complex for the average Joe to understand, the principles, the working mechanisms are unlike anything there was before in the financial world. People really cling to old beliefs and old thought patterns. All they do when hearing about bitcoin, is reading two or three news articles, written of course by absolutely clueless reporters who themselves do not understand anything about technology, then in the end they come to the conclusion that it's just another volatile, high risk asset. They do not understand the revolutionary technology behind it, nor do they care. Until a giant catastrophe won't force them into bitcoin, literally force them to read and learn about what bitcoin really is, they will just repeat the same old lines, the same old beliefs that we alle have heard so often before. Those guys will still cry "ponzi" when bitcoin reaches 100k $, which I strongly believe, it will one day. Bitcoin isn't a ponzi scheme, because it's just a neutral piece of software. What it is however, is a very good platform to grow ponzi schemes (goxes) on. Yes, I know that, you know that, but not the average guy unfortunately. What impact would Darkcoin implementing Darksend have on the price/future of TiPS?
People know that darkcoin is going to be anonymous yet no one buys it. It won't effect tips at all, because tips brand is based on tipping not being anonymous. Two different markets! Looking at the volume of darkcoin, anonymity is not that popular as a selling point. Unless you have something to hide. If my coins were stolen id actually want to find out where they went, so as an investor the whole anonymity puts me off. I got into tips for its name and potential to tip content creators online. I mostly agree. I would be interested to hear other peoples opinions. TiPS is building a great brand, but I do think the anonymous feature is a big selling point to a large portion of the crypto community, and we shouldn't focus solely on tipping. I think Darkcoin is a good concept, but basically Anoncoin offers similar features, and those guys are even planning on implementing the zerocoin protocol. Having anonymity features is a nice bonus for tips, it should definitely be mentioned, but focusing on this aspect would be strange. Tips is really more about tipping, but it definitely should be known to people that anonymous features are available, I mean, it is a really cool bonus feature. |
