161  Economy / Gambling / Re: A true Martingale system for sports ;D on: February 07, 2016, 07:48:00 PM
Hi guys

First of all I am a girl who like sports betting. I have been thinking a lot of how to implement the Martingale system in sports betting in real life.
I am going to show you my idea , which is quite simple, but is appealing only to very disciplined and experienced players.

Its easy, first you pick a team which has been always middle of table in standings or a bit lower, but not too much.
You start betting with 0.01 BTC and double this sum every time until you win. Odds of course must 2 or more to achieve this.
1 Bet-0.01
2 Bet-0.02
3 Bet-0.04
4 Bet-0.08
5 Bet-0.16
6 Bet-0.32
7 Bet-0.64
8-Bet-1.32

About 3 BTC needed for this if you play 8 matches, and 1.4 BTC if you try the seven match martingale system.
In 8 times playing at home ground the middle team should win at list 1 time to make sure you make profit. Profit varies at which number of bet the team wins.

I want to try this with Premier League, or lower English divisions as they have very good odds  Cool

This is only a suggestion, I am not responsible if you lose a lot of money, not my fault in anyway, you decide what to do with your Bitcoins.

You want to try and pick bets you can have an edge on rather than looking to just bet ones which fit your odds correctly.  If you can find some ratio where you can bet martingale style but have an edge you will win just like the house does against you in dice.  Overall just make sure you dont invest what you cant afford to lose imo.

Dam missed them all! but in the past never had any worries with these, just takes a couple days after competition ending usually to get credit.

Bournemouth vs Arsenal Bournemouth is in good form but Arsenal will play as good as it can just to win this match. That is the reason I am supporting Arsenal and have my bet on it @1.87 money line.

Arsenal is a great pick for this game, they have to win to keep the pressure up on leicester.  I hope they lose but dont see it happening.

United v chelsea i'd go for a score draw.

Yikes looks like i got it right for once.  Yesterday my picks were completely off haha.

I worry for leicester they have 3 teams behind who can win every single game from now to end of season, one of them might do that.
164  Economy / Economics / Re: When A Super Rich Guy Buys A Yacht Do More Africans Suffer? on: February 07, 2016, 11:32:48 AM

OP writes:

"How do we know what products are moral to buy?"

That is a problem.  But, as it so complex, don't spend your time worrying about every Made in China T-Shirt, electronic widget, etc.  There are bigger problems to worry about.

Im not saying there are not bigger problems to worry about but what do you think they are?

So to whom is directed the OP?

Well its directed at everyone i guess but do you think the richer you are the more moral responsibility you have when buying things? or everyone is equal?

...does that imprison other people or does it depend on the product? How do we know what products are moral to buy?

Imprison them in what way? Are you implying that employees producing a certain product are prisoners because they voluntarily contracted with an employer to exchange their labor for wages?

In the way of buying things shapes the world more than voting does.  If people buy meat the producers will provide more meat, if you buy vegetarian food more of it gets produced - for example, im not saying either is more moral than the other atm.

Well, you have to work right? how many people would like to live almost or totally self sufficient i wonder? but cant because all the reasonable land has been taken.

Basically.....Do You Have A Moral Responsibility When Buying Things?

On a smaller scale if you buy a certain product more of that product will get produced as a result, does that imprison other people or does it depend on the product? How do we know what products are moral to buy?
168  Economy / Economics / Re: How to make 17 BTC out of 7 BTC ? on: February 05, 2016, 12:22:36 PM
Does someone has any suggestions how to make 17 BTC with 7 BTC starting capital in short period of time?

If you only have a short period of time its either gambling or trading isn't it? unless you know of some great investment which seems unlikely.  Best thing is to just play it safe and hold.
169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Take it from me: Bitcoin will NOT die in our lifetime. on: February 05, 2016, 11:40:39 AM
To be honest, I agree. I see a lot of use scenarios for Bitcoin.

Yeah i agree also, if the price goes down it just means another business opportunity comes into the market and pumps the bitcoin back up.  The govs can only do so much and dont have the control over things they would like or that people think they do.  Society will make room for bitcoin.

I don`t think Everton could beat Stoke at home, i think Stoke - Everton is a draw.

Im thinking everton looked good vs newcastle and stoke looked pretty bad against united losing 3-0 and to do that vs united is saying something.  Everton are the better side on paper, who knows though.

174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshis left on exchanges on: February 04, 2016, 10:12:01 AM
I already have a lot of satoshis lost around several bitcoin exchanges. I can't withdraw those satoshis because they don't even worth the fees.
Like me there's thousands of others in the same situation which would make a lot of BTC. So I take it that exchanges keep these satoshis for them.

What do you think? Should exchanges be responsible for the fees and return every satoshi to their owners?

If the time it takes to return the satoshis is not worth the reward to do it it wont happen.  I should imagine many people are the same as you i know i have everal exchanges with small amounts on which i likely will just leave forever.
175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving Party 2016 on: February 04, 2016, 10:09:23 AM
Do you have any plans for the evening Bitcoin halves?

If reading this retrospectively, what did you do the day of bitcoins halving?

In the true spirit of bitcoin being online money we should have an online party somehow. I dont know how that could go down and would take some organizing but could have various different stuff like competitions, a quiz.  We could do it via a live stream or something and have a host haha.
176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: February 03, 2016, 04:01:26 PM
Costa is back in good form. That seems suspicious to me, he was bad when Mourinho was there. Anybody think he was purposefully playing below his best because he wanted Mourinho to be sacked?

I see that Chelsea captain John Terry will leave at the end of the season too. Big changes at Chelsea FC.

Footballers are just giant baby kids remember. All they've ever known is to be worshipped by everyone and get paid a ton of money for staying in good shape and kicking a ball about.  Costa probably was just not bothering cause he didnt feel like it for a while, why bother right? you getting paid tons anyway haha.
177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: February 03, 2016, 12:14:40 PM
My predictions for tonight -

Everton vs Newcastle - Everton win
Watford vs Chelsea - Chelsea win

I will go with:

Everton vs Newcastle - Draw
Watford vs Chelsea - Chelsea easy win

Thinking newcastles transfer activity could give them a mental boost and get omething from everton.

178  Economy / Speculation / Re: should i go 50/50 with gold and bitcoin? on: February 03, 2016, 12:01:29 PM
at the moment i have 30 btc now i could sell in the highs and buy gold leaving me with 15 btc.

im starting to think btc wont survive long due being entirely digital the thing could be abandoned or worse internet might go down what you guys think i would look pretty stupid buying something you cant see or hold im torn to shreds right now.

ive listened to max keiser and proffs that bitcoin could be worth tens of thousends i think its the most sensible thing to do "dont put eggs in one basket" on all...

it draws a fine line... i.e. all that electricity to "mine" bitcoins pushing hardware to the max and with exchanges like crypsty and cexio mucking me around i just dont see the future help me realise this what should i do?

If you are young i would just keep it all in bitcoin, gold isn't go to go sky high anytime soon, maybe gold might hold its value.  You get one chance though and 30 bitcoin could change your life. Hold for the longest time.
179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you do with your idle coins? on: February 03, 2016, 11:38:18 AM
I have some coins idling around in my wallet but I cannot bear to put it in hyip or risk it. But it is a waste to let it idle around. Yes. I have coins in some "lower risk" hyips to generate some interest which I'm prepared to write off. I also have some coins converted to hashing power in hashnest and BW.com but it has to be monitored else you will suffer a loss instead.  Grin

Unlike fiat currencies, I cannot park these coins into banks backed by governmental institutions. I put my fiat currencies in banks or blue chips but I cannot do it with cryptos.

So, what do you do with your idle coins? Let it sit around?

Bitcoin is deflationary and over the past the value has always gone up so your coins are earning some of the best interest rates ever seen even though it looks like they are sat around.  Any investment to store your coins with someone else is going to come with risk for the % gains its probably not worth it for most of your stash.
180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is DEAD... on: February 02, 2016, 10:29:49 AM

Bitcoin is dead should be translated to i want to buy bitcoin. Its funny how people even waste the time bothering to post about how dead it is.  Probably got buy orders in below i should imagine.
