Nigeria is really a collection of big names but no team work. Even though the in the game of football, anything is possible, I think it will be funny for anyone to have high hopes in Nigeria winning the host tomorrow. This is just a simple matter of being realistic.
It’s popular opinion that the Super Eagles manager, José Peseiro is unable to make the best of this team. Ivory Coast is not a star studded team, they no longer have big names like Didier Drogba, Yaya Touré and Kolo Touré. Still it is not going to be easy for the super Eagles. My mind is telling me Nigeria will lose but my heart is telling me we will win.

Nigeria will be playing the host country, Ivory Coast tomorrow. This is not a fixture any team in the competition will be looking forward to. We have a lot of things to work on. Our defense is poor and we easily concede goals. The super eagles haven’t convinced me that they are ready for a tough fight. I don’t think the Nigeria I saw play against Equatorial Guinea can beat Ivory Coast. We have individually good players but we do not have a team.

Chelsea hiring Mourinho again is not a matter of deserve or not, but it's not the time for how the managerial style of Mourinho who will demand new players again. He is not the type of a manager who would build a team for the future which is what has been a trajectory for Chelsea right now.

Chelsea claim they are building players for the future but at what cost? Relegation may be the future if they continue to play badly. Arsenal under Arsene Wenger was a club that focused on developing young talents. Chelsea has never been that club.

The speculation about Newcastle's interest in Mourinho is intriguing. I'm sure it wont gonna happen because Newcastle seem to have policy of developing players which is not what Mourinho will do.

Things have changed at Newcastle since the club was bought by Saudi Arabia. They have gone form a team struggling with relegation to a team with Champions league football, the new owners have the money to make Newcastle a strong side like Manchester City. They just need a good manager who can help them achieve their goals.

And I will put your on my watch list to know if you are really an influential politician daughter or son. And things you discussed here will also showcase your identity as a politician daughter or son.
I think OP is just doing what he has seen others do in the past to farm merits. This type of topics used to work in the past, members are easily moved by bitcoin adoption threads and showed them with merits. This is why I think this story is a ploy to fish merit since OP didn’t get enough merits on the last one he created.

Mourinho has left his job at Roma. Maybe Mourinho can return to Chelsea one more time and make things right. His second adventure at Chelsea was not so good, but he is the best manager in Chelsea's history. I think he should take charge of Chelsea once again and try to bring Chelsea back to the old days. They spend money on transfers but they don't have someone who can manage the team. I think Mourinho could be the right person for them.
I don’t think Mourinho will be returning to Chelsea. They really do not deserve him. There are speculations Newcastle are interested in Mourinho as manager, I would like to see that happen. I believe that could be the game changer Newcastle needs to become a better contender for the league title. Jose Mourinho has a track record of success, he’s been able to perform miracles in his career. I think people forget how he become the special one. IMO Roma shouldn’t have sacked Mourinho, no manager could have done a better job with that team. Pep Guardiola won the award for best manager yesterday, but Mourinho is one who also deserves that recognition in my opinion. If Pep was given the same team Mourinho managed in Roma, I doubt he will be able to get a better result.

The clownery continues!  Grin

Winners from Best FIFA Football Awards 2023
The Best FIFA Men's Player - Lionel Messi

https://www.90min.com/posts/the-best-fifa-football-awards-2023-full-winners-list

Seriously? It seems that when he retires, they will create a new nomination “the best among pensioners” and will award it to him every year. What makes what happened especially poignant is the fact that, according to leaks, Haaland was supposed to win, so Messi didn’t even come to the ceremony, and when the winner was announced it was very awkward.
What a shameful, pathetic circus. There is a feeling that this clownery will continue until 2027 (in 2026 they will hold the World Cup and finally bury this PR story that everyone is already tired of).
It’s laughable. I don’t see how Messi who is playing in Inter Miami could win the award. Lionel Messi did not merit the award and was given based on sentiment.  I don’t want to shout robbery but what did Messi achieve within the timeline (19th Dec 2022 - 20th August 2023) under review that makes him merit the award ahead of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe? FIFA should rename the awards to football popularity contest because that is what it is.

I’m impressed with how much interest Africans, Nigeria in particular are showing in the AFCON. In the last couple of years, there has been a drop in the interest in local games and national competitions. It’s nice to see people have caught the AFCON fever and are once again giving attention to the competition as much as they are interested in the EPL, La Liga and all the foreign leagues.

Proverb: life nor be film if not part 2 for dey.
Meaning: You only get one shot at life.

Proverb: person wey shit dey catch nor dey waka anyhow.
Meaning: You are careful not to make mistakes when you are clear on your plans.

I was expecting the Super Eagles should have get a convincing win against Equatorial Guinea. We lost a match we should have won with at least three goals. I have a issue with the comments of José Peseiro after the game, his response to why they flopped was “God gives, God takes”. That was such an unprofessional comment to make, he should have addressed the mistakes in the game and promise Nigerians that they will do better in the next fixture.
171  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Is cyber crime the last resort of the struggling Nigerians on: January 14, 2024, 11:27:41 PM
This is what you get when the people in power do not care about the country and the people they pledge to serve. Why will they not raid students hostels in the middle of the night with guns when their own children are all schooling abroad? There is no provision for the common man in Nigeria, and if you find a way out of the rat race, the government will find a way to frustrate your efforts.
172  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: How ona dey take survive for this our country (Nigeria ). on: January 14, 2024, 10:40:27 PM
Things don too dare for Nigeria now. For my area, rent don increase by 50% this year. Some landlords just use brain give their tenants quit notice for November last year say them won use their house do something. All those one na format, them won increase rent and them know say the old tenants nor go like pay. My guy, everything just dey high, even pos charges don increase. Who nor get business wey dey fetch money go really hear am this year.
173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Know when to stop on: January 14, 2024, 12:00:11 AM
I agree with all the points listed in the OP. Knowing when to stop gambling is a very important skill to have because it could be the deciding factor as to whether you are going home with some money or penniless. Most gamblers experience self denial when they are caught in the trap of gambling too hard. They tell themselves that they are going to get a win that will cover all their losses. It’s good to have a fixed amount of money you’re willing to gamble for the day and also a good winning percentage you expect to get, make sure to call it a day when you get to that point.
174  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just HODL on: January 13, 2024, 09:52:06 PM
People have been brainwashed into thinking there's more profits in trading than hodling, they consider hodling to be boring and I have seen people saying trading is a way of making passive income from Bitcoin and people believe them without understanding what passive interest income is.

You’re right. I think people have become accustomed to the idea that Bitcoin can make one rich overnight. That is why the idea of buying bitcoins and hodling for long term does not excite people as much as the possibilities of gaining profits from day trading. They believe Bitcoin to be magic money and want to make multiple gains on their investment in real-time. And if they do not know how to trade, they will look for trading bots or signals to buy. Some may even invest their money in high yield investment scams.

177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 13, 2024, 08:08:05 PM
Last season, Arsenal lost the title narrowly and this season they may lose their shot at the title again because of injuries. Arsenal is lacking squad depth. They do not have enough options on the bench, Trossard is not in form, Saka is fatigued, Martinelli is also not in form. For a team that is contending for the league title, they need to go to the market and strengthen their squad. Arteta need to get a goal scorer and an attacking midfielder. They need to do a lot of recruitment to fill in those positions. It will be a very big problem for the Arsenal side if they do not make these moves.
178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 13, 2024, 07:37:14 PM
Never say never in football. It’s full time and Manchester wins Newcastle United by narrow margin 2-3.

I don’t know why Manchester City always struggle against Newcastle United. I said it before the game, Newcastle has no chance of winning unless football happens (element of surprise) but watching the game, it seemed Manchester City were the underdogs in this feature. They were lucky to get a last minute goal to secure the win.
179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 13, 2024, 05:33:51 PM
Manchester City will want to make the best of this game. Newcastle United are not in the best of forms, they have had two victories and five losses in the last seven games. Newcastle are the underdog in this match and I don’t think they stand a chance against Manchester City today unless football happens..
180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as P2P currency vs Bitcoin as an asset on: January 13, 2024, 03:39:16 PM
Bitcoin can be both asset and currency. I think majority of newbies who buy bitcoin do so with the intention to have an investment. Only people who have been in the crypto space will be interested in using bitcoin as a currency. This discussion has been going on for years, hopefully a poll will settle it. If enough people participate in the poll, we can use the stats form the poll as reference later on.
If bitcoin according to Satoshi is digital money then why call it investment.
Bitcoin IS an asset. Do you think it's bad?
