161  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: So I was scammed.. Any Help? on: April 09, 2014, 12:11:12 AM
The service was active for a few weeks before he ran off on a 6 month contract

If it was escrowed to him it would of been released after the service was active for a little while
Not held for 6 months.. How exactly would that have helped?
162  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: So I was scammed.. Any Help? on: April 08, 2014, 09:56:21 PM
He came back and deleted every single one of his posts

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=522761.msg6132073#msg6132073

Surely the moderators log the IP addresses of people posting
This is clearly a scam now... I could get in touch with his ISP if we can get the IP address?
163  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: 2 on: April 08, 2014, 09:45:19 PM
He isn't coming back...

He took the time to log in and delete every single one of his posts
I honestly hope he saw my post about who he was as I think he used his real name on Skype for some sort of legitimacy

He isn't on Facebook or any of the other social media sites I checked out

And if it was his plan all along to leave because people were questioning his legitimacy then it's either extremely convenient or that you have a new(ish) member who seems to be so concerned about scammers and yet these forums are rampant with scam accusations and he chose to focus on this one specifically

I ask if a Moderator is reading this if possible to check the IP's that have been logged for btcminor01 and lowerjerzey to see if they correspond
Hell even if they are in the same subnet that's going to be mighty suspicious

Gaming communities can be pretty close knit

I used to play CS competitively here in Australia a long time ago

If it really is the same guy I'm going to post in a few forums to see if I can get any hits
165  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Open] 2,65TH/S Hosting shares for sale using 15 Antminers starting NOW !!! on: April 08, 2014, 03:56:29 AM
I just posted this in the scam forums as well

I think he may have used his real name a lot of the information lines up with things you can find online

If he truly was in SK gaming and played CS then some of those team members may still be around. We might be able to get in contact with one and find a sympathetic ear

His forum name is btcminor01

Email was btcminor01@outlook.com

His Skype name was Yannik Bindo
He said he worked for a large Power company in Belgium

If you look at his previous posts on the forums he was using his Bitcoins to gamble and if you google his name these sites come up

http://www.esportsearnings.com/players/5465-luce-yannik-milembo/comparisons

and it looks like he plays Counter-Strike as well http://www.sk-gaming.com/player/523-Luce

All these confirm that there is almost definitely someone in Belgium with this name

Oh and here is a lovely picture of him!

167  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BeeMiner 1T BTC Miner official thread based on Bitmine A1 on: April 07, 2014, 10:18:09 PM
You have to ask what would be the reason for it not being open source?

If there was a function you were providing with you version of the software what is it and what would be the reason to close the source to it?

I'm happy to escrow a unit to test it but what would the implications be if I bought one and the source code was never released?
What's to say there is code in there that won't trigger at a certain time to start mining on another pool and lock the user out?

You also mentioned in PM that a lot of units have been sold to an Australian Cloud mining company..
I've searched as extensively as I could and I have a few connections around and I couldn't find any information on that?

If you could elaborate on that if possible please and maybe even provide a contact number/website etc so I can ask them about their units.

Thanks,
168  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Open] 2,65TH/S Hosting shares for sale using 15 Antminers starting NOW !!! on: April 07, 2014, 09:55:43 PM
I only ask that people in this thread don't lower themselves to his standard.

I posted the picture in jest. I have no interested in proving to YOU that it's real nor do I really want any of your money.
It was actually when he started talking about that when I did start to get suspicious.

I treat everyone with an innocent until proven guilty approach and in this case I made a mistake.. I also already admitted it...
After calls to keep the conversation civil it's clear you have no intention of that.. In fact I would go as so far to say you have a superiority complex that in a medium such as a chat forum about a cryptocurrency can be reinforced so easily. I won't play on it sorry whatever unresolved issues you have you need to take them out on someone else. I am also not going to discuss the legitimacy of his claims either other than if you think that there aren't industries in which your jobs can come with certain perks...

Actually in all honesty what job do you actually do? Do you even have one?
What country are you from and how old are you?

I'm not one of those people that threaten violence by asking for your address etc. I'm just honestly interested in the demographics of people like you

169  Economy / Scam Accusations / So I was scammed.. Any Help? on: April 07, 2014, 10:42:41 AM
Hi All,

Being new to Bitcoin still I made a mistake and put my trust in a group buy that I shouldn't have
The thread is in the Hardware/Mining/Groupbuy forums if you want to look it up

I was an honest and civil as I could be and despite a few people being the opposite of that I have resigned to the fact that he isn't coming back

In lieu of that and still being new I wanted to track down what actually happened with the Bitcoins that were transferred to him

This was the address I transferred a total of 1.8BTC to https://blockchain.info/address/17pjDTzcLzMbsvFHD5yHSJvpSVMuMxnomm
And it shows 1 of those BTCs being spent. Does that mean he transferred it to another account?

This is also the account he is still using his miners on 14An2Q3wUtzcpCAD3Qt4AzUyLPGcdqiyrN on Eligius
Is there anything that can be done with that?

What has everyone that's gone through something like this done?
I'm going to assume though its a live and learn situation

Thanks in advance
170  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Open] 2,65TH/S Hosting shares for sale using 15 Antminers starting NOW !!! on: April 07, 2014, 10:12:16 AM
I was almost certain he was going to come back with a response like that

Didn't prove me wrong that's for sure.. and as bad as this situation is he is of course acting as a child would..
From his previous responses it's not surprising.

It's good to know that the Moderators are doing their job here as well after reporting you for your conduct.. not a peep
Although I will follow up to see if they can check if you are posting from the same account or you have similar IP addresses

Maybe you will be a man of your word here is the Skype chat with him explaining the free power

You can send the 0.06BTC to 1FXUcLhvuZia7ZdhjqqSiWNd5pgBYeQJGr

Anyway moving on..

From here all we can do is follow the BTC's now
We have all the addresses we sent BTC to we can monitor them and if he uses them to transfer to a known address we might be able to find out a bit more
171  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [In Stock] 10 sets of Gridseed 5chip Miners with Accessories = Australia on: April 07, 2014, 03:55:10 AM
Hi,

This would put these roughly at about $280 per unit.

You are literally in between threads that are selling them for $155-$165 per unit (including the extras as well) with International shipping

Might be a hard sell at that price?

Thanks,
172  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Open] 2,65TH/S Hosting shares for sale using 15 Antminers starting NOW !!! on: April 07, 2014, 12:35:12 AM
Well it's been on 24 hours now and he hasn't appeared on Skype

Before today he would be on everyday and I would talk to him

To say that I'm shattered would be an understatement and if not to add salt to the wound not only did he contact me a few hours prior to him disconnecting all the shares of the miners but he is mining on the same address he started with...
As a taunt to say that I took advantage of you Sad

I've got that sinking feeling in my gut it's not the best
173  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Open] 2,65TH/S Hosting shares for sale using 15 Antminers starting NOW !!! on: April 06, 2014, 11:25:47 AM
This is becoming a very unfortunate situation now...

I can understand that the conduct in this thread has been less than exemplary but it's quite clear what happened today (or what has happened so far)

At around the same time my two miners went down the pool on the address
http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/14An2Q3wUtzcpCAD3Qt4AzUyLPGcdqiyrN
Went back up to full speed (which is about 2650GHS - 15 x 180GHS miners)

The terms as I understood were reasonable and his access to free power seemed legitimate.
I defended him against the accusations and I don't think this is the best way to treat the shareholders.

I only ask now that whoever responds to this post now to keep it civil and constructive only

From here I would like to appeal to reasonable discourse and try to salvage what this has become
I think in all fairness now each shareholder should be able to pay their final fees and have their initial deposits refunded and put this down to a learning experience

He hasn't come on Skype at all today but if/when he does I will be speaking to him there...

Thanks,

Where would you be sending it from as well?

Thanks,
175  Economy / Goods / WTB - Newish Android Phone - Samsung/Nexus Etc on: April 01, 2014, 08:00:44 AM
I'm looking for a fairly new Android Phone

Something similar to the S4.. or Galaxy Note 2 etc

The conditions would have to be that it's completely unlocked
Compatible with Australian networks
In good condition

If you have something let me know and your price in BTC

Thanks,

You're embarrassing yourself now and I feel that arguing this point any further with you would be like playing chess with a Pigeon

Feel free to look that one up..

I'm not going to willingly ruin this thread unless I come across any tangible and substantiated claims
177  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Open] 2,65TH/S Hosting shares for sale using 15 Antminers starting NOW !!! on: April 01, 2014, 04:39:30 AM
Everything that is related to Bitcoin including hosting, mining, trading is going to have some form of risk associated with it.

It's up to the individual that is taking that risk to analyse the information and make a decision based on their best reasoning.

This whole network is built on trust and when you are new and untested you need people to calculate that risk and take a chance. I speak with him often (actually most days) on Skype and to me he seems like a genuine human being.

If for whatever reason that the deal goes sour I would hope that he would do his best to compensate the people involved with his shares.
I also just like to have a bit of trust in good ol' fashion fucking humanity as well

It takes a special person like you to come rampaging in (throwing out accusations as you have we can see in the thread below) that are based purely on your own speculation. He has no need to divulge any information to you when you come charging in to the thread like that..

If you are skeptical of the deal everyone is in their right to question the details but if you're not smart enough to do it properly then you are doing a massive disservice to the Bitcoin community. You have no further reason to post in this thread now other to apologise to the OP and conduct yourself with a bit of civility

178  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Open] 2,65TH/S Hosting shares for sale using 15 Antminers starting NOW !!! on: March 31, 2014, 09:16:30 PM
Just a heads up for anyone interested in this deal so far

OP has been honest with all his dealing and his service has been running solid since I bought the shares

It's a shame the troll sullied the thread like he did.. The OP doesn't deserve it
179  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 25, 2014, 02:45:30 AM
Hypothetically if you enclosed these miners in a small rackmount cabinet for instance
And had a fan pushing air on one end and pulling on the other

Would the direct airflow compensate for the extra heat created by it being enclosed?
