161  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New diff thread Feb 9 to Feb ? this has a promo for best guess. on: February 22, 2015, 11:46:26 PM
I´m counting on my usual luck and so putting the money on Kexkey Grin

Grin  I am not usually lucky so I guess philipma has a point: if next block takes like an hour, we're both screwed!!  Wink
162  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New diff thread Feb 9 to Feb ? this has a promo for best guess. on: February 22, 2015, 11:41:43 PM

IM SHUTTING OFF ALL MY MINERS FOR THE NEXT 45 MINS TO REDUCE THE DIFFICULTY.

ALL 1.5TH/s WORTH!

Haha!  Good idea!  Me too for the next... 26 minutes!!  Wink

No no no, you should keep mining and when you find one of those blocks - throw it away  Grin

LOL!  Block withholding for the fame... Wink

I think I'll take the 25 BTC instead...

can't believe it is this close.  1 block to go and the winner is not decided!

Exciting!

Last block took 12 minutes.  Bitcoinwisdom is lagging right now, hard to tell...

Ah, Estimated Next Difficulty:   46,801,837,830 (+5.28%) ATM  Grin

Estimated next difficulty change in 6.8 hours : +4.91%

I wonder what is the max possible/plausible change (positive or negative) within a 7 hour range.

and confirmed

Thanks Kano ... and we have reached 100 pages today on the forum, not bad for such a young and trustworthy pool.

yeah it is those really good hot streaks that get a few pages of talk each time.   I am going offline for a few hours when I come back I expect the block count to move from 149 to 153 yep 4 blocks in 4 or 5 hours sounds good to me.

I have 100th 95 in rentals  need me some blocks big time.

Good luck Philip!  Well, I should say good luck to the pool... Smiley  The last 10 blocks were amazing, we want some more lucky streak like that to help forget about the looooong cold winter.  (I'm in Montreal, so cold up here... but great for the miners!!)

Let's mine 42 blocks TODAY!   Grin

... and I thought I'd add a little reminder to everyone mining here Smiley

We don't do any extra filtering of transactions or create address filters or hide the full details about such things.

We believe in the importance of bitcoin being fungibile.

All the transactions we mine are the transactions that the standard bitcoin software gives to the pool via the getblocktemplate RPC interface.
We use the standard unmodified bitcoin.
We don't accept transactions from other sources, even if some entity wants to pay us to do this.
Our only modification of the default bitcoin transaction selection settings is to increase the block size limit to 850,000.

Nice to know.  Thanks for the precisions.  I was following that guy's requests and I thought it was funny seeing all the negative answers from pool operators.

HOLLY CRAP !!!
I just switched the miner I won over to my normal ( PINGSTER ACCOUNT )
and it found a BLOCK !!!
I'm glad it helped the pool !

Hahaha that's cool!  Hey that's a lucky account you have!  Congrats!

171  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 0.5% fee anonymous solo bitcoin mining! 27 blocks solved! on: February 12, 2015, 12:42:28 AM

Good luck!  Luck is hiding somewhere, I hope you find it.  I distribute my hashrate over solo.CKPool, Eligius, BTC Guild and Kano and they haven't been very lucky lately... :-/

I did a pool restart last night.
No pool problems, just added a message to the coinbase regarding my brother who passed away a few hours before that.

Thanks suchmoon and philipma!  Last diff change showed us we are a little too much optimistic, lol!  Hard to guess right now, but I'll go with +4.77%.  I'll probably change my guess as we get closer to Feb. 15 though...

Good luck all!
174  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 0.5% fee anonymous solo bitcoin mining! 26 blocks solved! on: February 09, 2015, 04:50:22 PM

175  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New diff thread Jan 27th to Feb 11 (-5.73%) to (+0.09%) on: February 05, 2015, 12:48:37 PM
Hmm, what happens if the difficulty ends up on the midpoint between two guesses? If it's rounded to 2 decimal places, it seems like it could be possible this occurs.

You know, we gotta get this legalese worked out.

Good point. The probability is very slim but I will add something to the rules for next round.

Well it's not too late for the current round if you have an idea of what to do.  The added something likely won't affect our estimates at this point...

176  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 0.5% fee anonymous solo bitcoin mining! 26 blocks solved! on: February 03, 2015, 02:09:21 AM

I like the 2 pools you run.  I have a little here and I am all in on the other pool you run.

Same for me, I kinda adopted the KCK DUO!  ;-)

Block at last! Waiting for confirm.

https://blockchain.info/block/000000000000000013fe7dae3fba84a72cf8d81fc20b9dbf516b9fa0e6845746

Found by pingster! Which means if it's confirmed, he gets the first AVA4!

EDIT: Confirmed! We have a winner.
No confirm required - orphans win also Smiley
But yes it was confirmed anyway. As was the 2nd block.

Wow!! I just woke up and checked pool stats and was happy to see we had found a couple of blocks.
Then checked the blocks and see it was me (pingster) and I won a new miner! Grin Grin Grin
Thank You Thank you Thank you. I have been with this pool since the early days and it's the best run pool.
I can't wait to point the new AVA4 at CKPOOL.  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Congrats!  Give us feedback about your Avalon experience!  Smiley

178  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: M's Miner (Ant/SP) Monitor v4.7: alerts,auto/mass/scheduled reboot/fast on: January 29, 2015, 03:05:02 AM
Hi M,

You are correct.  The web scraping isn't going to work well for non english browsers.  I have done nothing to make it locale aware. Sad  That's a task I'm not sure I can get into.

What locale do you have your browser set to?  I might be able to look at this, but I have a short amount of "spare" time, and it's needed elsewhere mostly. Sad

What miner is this coming from?

Coming from Bitmain gear, S1's and S4.  I understand that spare time is gold, I'm in the same boat.  Smiley  Don't worry, your software is absolutely usable.  My W8 is set to fr-CA, I guess the IE browser object you're instantiating has the same locale.

Best share is definitely not defined as a numeric type.

Same is happening when sorting other columns, like XCount (33X comes before 4X), I guess the problem appears on whatever locale we're in.  Not a big deal though.

You should be able to set the browser userid/password for each miner on the miner config tab.

That's what I did, but it pops the password dialog anyway.  I don't know why.  I deactivated those 3 remote miners.  For the other remote miners, I set a VPN up and it's working well.

You're welcome.  Unfortunately making this locale aware may be beyond the scope of what I can do time wise. Sad

Once again, don't worry about it.  Very useful software.

Kexkey

For those of you who might have been hoping I'd hurry up and not take so long to do something about iPads and iPhones ...
I've modifed the menu to be a simple double row of tap-able boxes on any device that says it's an iP*
Thus the menus should now, hopefully, be completely usable for everyone.

Cool, thanks for that!  I had to start a VNC session on a PC to be able to use the site.  FYI, Chrome, Opera and Mercury browsers for iP* were not working with the old menus.

Thanks for your work... And lack of sleep.   Cheesy
