161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dorian Nakamoto giving AMA on Reddit on: October 10, 2015, 11:09:49 AM
You know for a moment there I thought you were trolling me
But then I checked the thread and realized that no trolling was required.
Good job to Dorians alt for making him a thread.
162  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way to make a living online? on: October 10, 2015, 10:35:26 AM
Well I also feel its worth mentioning ways to retain money as well as generate income
Example redflagdeals and ebates would be reward and money back returns when you purchase stuff from sites like Amazon
Cashback is a way to make a killing, especially in scale.

That said I have seen TV shows about people who go on coupon hunting and get all their items for free extreme bargain hunting of course some aspects are bogus.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extreme_Couponing
http://business.time.com/2012/11/05/former-extreme-couponer-admits-its-a-waste-of-time/

And then I pondered what would happen if someone resold all that and got ebay  Grin
163  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread Oct 1 to Oct 14 picks are Closed. 2x bonus! + a surprise? on: October 10, 2015, 10:32:45 AM

10/1/2015    153------------   + 9  about + 4 for this adjustment period.
10/2/2015    130 ------------   -14                      so as of 11 pm we are about a - 10
10/3/2015    145 ------------ + 1         so we are near -9
10/4/2015    158 ------------  +14         +5
10/5/2015    151-------------  +7          +12 total
10/6/2015    146 ------------  +2           +14 total
10/7/2015    132 ------------ -12               +2 total
10/8/2015    137 ------------  -7                -5 total
10/9/2015    132 ------------ -12               -17

1205 made and we should be 1222  so we are  -1.39%

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty     (+0.55%)  this just a bit too high.

with 811 blocks left and the weekend coming up I see a possible neg adjustment.

I will happily take a negative.  It's been too long since that.    And very nice compared to 5's.

What I wonder is how many S7's are in the mail right now. Wish there was a good way to tell.

As do I and a list of tracking addresses to tell where they all are and when they will get set up ^^

That said looking at it now it likely will stabalize at +-1% or the rough range this round with 757 blocks left

Bitcoin Difficulty: 60,813,224,039
Estimated Next Difficulty: 61,416,445,072 (+0.99%)

164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel about the negative reputation of the bitcoin currency? on: October 09, 2015, 10:38:07 AM
No impact,
While all currencies can be used for negative things, they also can be used for positive ones, an increased awareness of the utility of Bitcoin and usability for the end user is what matters at the end of the day, perceptions can change.
165  Other / Off-topic / Re: Windows 7 VS Windows 10 on: October 09, 2015, 10:28:57 AM
Needs a poll
Sticking to Windows 7 Tested works and less privacy issues.
166  Economy / Gambling / Re: MoneyPot.com :: The bitcoin gambling wallet on: October 08, 2015, 12:39:14 AM
Kind of curious if bustabit which is formerly moneypot has a similar url for investing since its not in the faq or if I missed it somewhere or is it just moneypot that has an investment part.
And also if they are different games
https://www.bustabit.com/investment (Does not Exist)
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=709185.2340;topicseen

bustabit (also owned by me) doesn't offer an investment feature at the moment Sad

Thanks for the clarification so investors hang out at moneypot and no double dipping two sides yet  Wink
Thanks

Currently new spam attack is ongoing. Largest so far. Wonder how this will effect price and diff...

The price dropped 4$ in few minutes, that is annoying. Why would it matters? Only confirmation time is affected, i don't see why this would change anything for holders and miners.

I suggest reading about it - http://cointelegraph.com/news/115374/the-ongoing-bitcoin-malleability-attack

It is a bad thing all the way around.   Look at the amount of bad transactions during the attack.  It is very surprising level they are able to go to.

It really is a nuisance cheap way to duplicate txts then send them twice
The transaction confirms either way and doesn't cause a double spend since the blockchain reads the first input, but that second one stays in the mempool for a while.

This topic provides better details
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1198032.0;topicseen

Back to difficulity looks like it went down for a bit (always 0 as a pick) for someone who wants to bet on the impossibilu one haha.

Not unless we do a Bitcoin update to a new core client and have it deviate again  Wink

s/unless/if

Was referencing OK pay and block 225430, I presume that when we do finally decide on what to do with 1mb it will be smooth as we all have had a long notice.

171  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: New transaction malleability attack wave? Another stresstest? on: October 05, 2015, 10:27:29 AM
It is an annoyance to have my normal transactions reading as double spends from blockchain both of them are from the same source and won't fail but having a warning message appear and having it spam the network is urksome.

I wonder if any of us can double bitcoin due to this attack Smiley

-15.50% change to current
1933 blocks until difficulty changes

I had to read that twice to make sure I saw correctly
If only that would happen
And props to donkey for bragging rights and a cat that can predict bitcoin difficulty, I guess I haven't seen it all Smiley

177  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What do you know about Venezuela? on: September 26, 2015, 09:21:03 AM
It has an ongoing issue with its neighbours mooching off their social services like free education and nearly free gas
Then has that nation complaining about how they suck for not letting them in when they shut down their borders or being good neighbours.
http://www.dispatchtimes.com/venezuela-colombia-border-to-reopen/104057/
That said when one border opens another one closes in a sense.
