161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What opinion from people out there or people in your city about bitcoin? on: August 22, 2017, 12:33:52 AM
so, what is happen in your places related with bitcoin? did people still don't care about bitcoin?
First of all most of people don't know what bitcoin is, never heard the word before in their lives.
I've met IT guys who work in some pretty renowned corporation and they have no idea what bitcoin is.
The problem here is that bitcoin is decentralized and not backed by any centralized company.
If bitcoin was the creation of Microsoft, Apple or Samsung we would have global marketing campaigns so huge that everyone would know exactly what BTC is after a year.
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will bitcoincash / BCC price be equal to bitcoin / BTC price? on: August 20, 2017, 08:56:07 PM
It is pure speculation at this point, we have no clear idea what will happen, we can only consider couple possibilities:

- the current surge of BCC price is temporary - and as soon as mining difficulty catch up price will go down significantly
- BCC high price is growing trend and it will grow in a way similar to original bitcoin
- adoption of BCC will grow -> price will follow
- everyone on a business level will disregard BCC - it will remain only pure speculative coin  - which will effectively reduce its worth

Is this campaign still on going or is it paused?
Apparently, we are still waiting for the final decision of vDice team and Irfan will confirm soon what will be the future of this campaign.
But I gotta say with each passing day I think that chances that this campaign will be active for another month are decreasing.
I hope I am wrong on this one though Smiley

166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: attempts to "rebrand" Bitcoin Cash won't work and look pathetic on: August 01, 2017, 12:07:36 PM
Changing the symbol from BCC to BCH on the client and websites would help the brand as BCC is already taken. ViaBTC can't just expect BitConnect to go away just because they would rather use BCC for Bitcoin Cash. It looks like several exchanges are standardizing on BCH (BCash). Trezor has also. Having the brand consistent across exchanges is good for business and avoids confusing buyers.
You are completely right and miners are completely right to create even more confusion regarding their altcoin.
They want the new name to be as similar to standard bitcoin ticker as possible - the more confused users who will think that BCC is legit the better for them.
It will allow Bitmain to manipulate the price with even greater ease.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC or BCC on: July 29, 2017, 11:51:37 AM
bcc = free money

bcc = copy cut of bitcoin

This coin should not be release in the market, it just lead confusion to others.
The bitcoin community needs to do something about this or else it will get worst.
I dont know why they need to make a coin that's only a copy cut, why dont they just leave bitcoin and mind their own business. Well, Calin Culianu good luck to you sir.
I expect that the story with BCC will be the same as we already know from observing what happened to Ethereum after the split.
The main Bitcoin chain will continue to grow, thrive and become even more successful while this BCC will be forever stuck at 1% of BTC value.
But of course, before August 1 we have no idea whether we will even see BCC at all.
168  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price after fork on: July 28, 2017, 10:17:36 PM
Bitcoin will obviously have more value than Bitcoin Cash, there are only a few mining companies that are planning to support BCC chain, I am predicting a price crash on BCC once it goes live on trading exchanges, traders would just dump it fast before the price goes crashing to the bottom.
From what I know Bitmain will support BCC and this company alone will be enough to single handled change the name of the game.
I expect if miners really follow the idea of forking alternative chain then we will see the same scenario which happened before to Ethereum.
The main chain will take everything while side chain will be forever overshadowed and will simply exist in the background.
169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC-e.com down ! Police detains the owner . on: July 27, 2017, 05:18:41 PM
Russians...
Ass far as I recall CEO of the Mt. Gox Mark Karpelès isn't Russia, same goes for Bitfinex team and some other less known exchanges which failed in the past.
BTC-e had a good history of delivering good service -  it was founded in July 2011 and has been running almost continuously for six years.
I wonder what will happen with all the coins they have in their wallet...
170  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Cash trading well. Bitcoin's future uncertain. on: July 26, 2017, 12:14:35 PM
I wouldn't go so far as to say that we are facing some danger and collapse because of permanent BTC split. Stop panic!
In the best case scenario, BCC would follow Ethereum Classic footsteps, it will be mined by Bitmain and will forever be worth 1% or original BTC price.

171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Aristocoin | The Digital Currency on: July 25, 2017, 11:39:01 AM
Wow...thats a bit thin on the info...
To say the least...

This coin basically has no identity, Op just described Bitcoin with a minor twist and zero innovation needed to distinguish this project from dozens cloned coins.
A half witted announcement with nothing but couple buzzword sentences is not helping either. Either scrap this project now or upgrade it while you can.
172  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin in Economics class? on: July 25, 2017, 11:31:43 AM
I had some economics classes, both macro and micro economics at university and general economics at highschool and I  could tell you that you don't need to take bitcoin as separate entity of money. The same economic
principles applies to fiat money and cryptocurrency together. The thing that could be taught in classes is blockchain as data structure and maybe some consensus algorithms analysis in maths and computer science.
It is not about similarities about standard monetary systems and cryptocurrency, of course, that basic principles of currency won't change drastically.
But the fact that bitcoin is being omitted and treated like 'flavour of the month' kind of thing which will won't survive in the long run is kinda sad.
I guess we still need more time to get rid of conventional thinking and uncertainty surrounding bitcoin inception.
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Kazakhstan will become the second country regulating the cryptocurrency on: July 25, 2017, 11:04:23 AM
All we need now is not for countries to just regulate blockchain tech, but to actually implement it for healthcare, insurance companies, voting systems ... Smiley
I doubt anything like that will happen during next 20 years and even if some government will be forward thinking enough to work on blockchain tech it doesn't mean that bitcoin or any other altcoin will gain value.
Not to mention that Kazakhstan is a pretty much insignificant economy and even if they will make cryptocurrency their alternative legal payment method it won't change the big picture, not in the way Japan adoption impacted markets anyway.

174  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin dip below 2000 again before Aug 1? on: July 25, 2017, 10:43:44 AM
2. Use technical analysic for compare chart Bitcoin in 2017 with 2013, I can see some similarities after the price of Bitcoin breakdown to $1800 and recovery to $2900 after some days. Maybe we are stay in Elliot waves B is bullish trap and if August 1st is waves C, we will see big breakdown in that time!
Technical analysis of cryptomarket was never a good option to estimate trends - we can agree that for the most part, technical indicators are not working correctly.
Indicators are lagging, create a noise and are simply elaborate method of guessing. Bitcoin might reach the moon and go back and technical indicators won't have time to react accordingly.
Bitcoin scaling upgrade is something unique and new, we can't compare the current market situation to anything that happened before just because charts look similar.
175  Economy / Speculation / Re: When $10k? on: July 25, 2017, 10:15:32 AM
The crypto market cap is still relatively tiny.
Crypto Market is insignificant not without reason - average Joe either never heard about Bitcoin or it is sceptical about it.
Mainly because he is feed with mainstream news about 'Bitcoin being tool for terrorists" and other bullshit.
Some things cannot be accelerated and take time to grow - I would rather see stable growth based on increased adoption rate than speculative bubble like we had in 2013.
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [vDice.io]►Ethereum Blockchain Gambling►►**New & Awesome Version of Site on: July 24, 2017, 12:57:46 PM
Those gamblers who are worried about the Bitcoin hard/Soft fork and swegit , can convert their bitcoins in ETH and then play the gambling without any interception , in case there is a disruption of Bitcoins near few days around August 1. Vdice is the best choice for the gamblers as they can contuine to play with ETH without taking into account any drama by the bitcoin fork Wink
I never thought about this option, but I think that ETH gambling is a viable solution for everyone who still wants to gamble during bitcoin forking process.
The only downside is a fact that price of BTC after the fork skyrocket so fast and so sudden that it will be hard to rebuy all converted coins back.
177  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Loss almost 40%, should stop trading or not ? on: July 24, 2017, 12:52:42 PM
You are being too impatient. Maybe your temperament better suits position trading, hodl the top ten for long term growth.
This is the best advice for every bitcoin enthusiasts, position trading is the key form of earning money with BTC.
Trading is a rough way to make a living, only a few percent of traders can constantly profit from it.
If you are not sure that you can handle it, then holding the coins is much better and safer option.
178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitrrex to handle the chain split on: July 24, 2017, 12:34:37 PM
Good news which bolsters people's confidence in the reliability of cryptocurrency exchanges.
Let's just hope that Bitrex will keep their words and there won't be any problems with bitcoin after potential split.
Bitrex is now sealed shut so you cannot withdraw your bitcoins, let's just hope they will honour this statement to the end.
179  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin go under 2000 dollars until august 1? on: July 24, 2017, 12:23:54 PM
I'm counting on the hardford FUD; segwit is almost sure (still need to be careful about exchange's policy of last days though, to avoid blockage of fund).

And 1800 level was tested so to go there again you really need a big panic.
You shouldn't keep money/cryptocurrency in exchange's wallets anyway.
Especially not during events like scaling upgrade, exchanges have no experience in handling such cases.
As for the potential price crash - even if everything will go fine according to the plan and scaling will be a pure success, we cannot guarantee that people will still panic anyway.
180  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Population on: July 24, 2017, 12:09:21 PM
We don't have problem with overpopulation at all, there is a problem with the correct distribution of population instead.
There are massive cities and ultra clustered areas with millions of people packed tightly and meanwhile, rural areas and small cities are empty.
The correct way to battle this problem is not to force people to limit birth rate but rather encourage them to migrate to less populated areas.
