161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | 100% POS | Assets | Names | Voting | Open Source on: February 18, 2015, 09:33:33 PM
Atomic Cross-Chain Transfer means that i can transfer my bitcoins to qora or burst or another altcoins blockchain? it means ACCT can be used like an p2p exchange ? am i wrong?

ACCT does not mean that you can move your Qora coin into your burst wallet.
It means that you can trade your Qora coins for Burst coins (selling your Qora to buy Burst) in a 100% decentralized way.

Are you aware that we also have Arbitrary Transaction for uploading arbitrary bits of data to the blockchain?  Wink  I wonder if we can use that to our advantage...

Yes i am.
You are actually asking the right person the right question. Why are you asking? Huh Huh Huh

Talking about Arbitrary Messages can we please get rid of this Base58 encoding in API calls.
Look at the Qora Base58 implementation (@https://github.com/Qora/Qora/blob/master/Qora/src/qora/crypto/Base58.java ) and you will see it was never designed to process large amounts of Data like a 4kb Arbitrary Message.
In fact it's ridiculous slow and memory consuming. Can we please switch to HEX encoding for the next version?

This has been applied by Qora and it will be followed for the next releases that the AT team will handle.
Qora rules will be followed.

Thanks  CIYAM for clarifying, as we are getting close to AT release your explanations would became much more needed in order to let Qora members gain the advantage of AT and it's functionalities.

Shit!
I still hold my QORA off-exchange
what is with https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_qora
There is no exchange for Qora now, Bter is NOT available since 7100+ BTC is stolen, and qora is frozen in polo, holy sh*t.

Database crashing problem poloniex

Woow. i havent heard about it before. but it sounds interesting and amazing. is there any countdown for that?

At the moment, no, we don't have a countdown for that.
There was a discussion between me, vbcs and skerberus about the process and how we will proceed.
As we discussed, the rules applied by Qora dev can and will be followed.
The new wallet release will just have AT live, nothing more, nothing less.
First the implementation of the AT needs to be finished. There might be more than one wallet releases as the AT team keeps deploying additional AT functionalities. This will be assessed during the whole progress.

For my part, if need arises and this actually is an inside job( as it looks from the cold wallet theft??? ) we are waiting on the good will of the Developers and their understanding of the gravity of this affair such that they take the measure of the 20mb forks for the recovery of victimezed investors.

So, you prefer/propose a "possible hard fork" as a solution?

...and let the Great Blockchain Civil War begin.

It should be taken into account, that the blockexplorer does not have to show correct balances, and the results are slightly different from what you can see in Qora client.

I had noticed that but I decided to go through public data and what is actually displayed on block explorer (as I was wondering that I may be on a fork).
As you are seeing the same as well then it's not only me.

My wallet says the below

Block explorer says the below

PMed agran about it this any case.

And feature voting had over 2 billions votes, when finished.

I not able to recall those results correctly but in any case I have added a strike-through to this comment.

This poll has gathered the 17% from the balances of Qora's users, making this poll to have the largest participation ever made on Qora's poll feature.

168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | 100% POS | Assets | Names | Voting | Open Source on: February 16, 2015, 12:50:43 AM
Poll ended today at block 75623 (2015-02-15 23:58:35 GMT)

Qora members gave authorization to the AT team (CIYAM Developers) in order to proceed with a new wallet version that will launch the Automated Transactions feature on Qora.

This poll has gathered the 17% from the balances of Qora's users, making this poll to have the largest participation ever made on Qora's poll feature.
The decision was unanimous among voters showing the importance of people's voice and how their decision could lead to a new era.
With the AT live on Qora's blockchain, we can claim that we are part of the world's first "Atomic Cross-Chain Transfer" between Qora and Burst, establishing a completely decentralized way of trading in cryptocurrencies.

Anyone else have Qora stuck on BTer now?  =/

I have 118000000 ( 118 milion , 1.18% of total coins ) and i really hope that in case the exchange betrays us we may find good will with the developers, somewhat how they proceded with other coins.

I noticed today Quora development will be overtaken by the skilled BURST team .
Any News & Conjectures are welcome , some birds know more than others … Roll Eyes

I don't know for Quora.. but for Qora you are wrong.

Everything is detailed described here and here
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | 100% POS | Assets | Names | Voting | Open Source on: February 14, 2015, 11:38:47 AM

Speculation here but my take is that qora was originally paid by someone or a group to develop qora (as hinted in the above quote) and maybe as part of the deal the investors required his absence after a certain date without releasing part of the code.

Let's bump this speculation game a little bit  Tongue

Spot the differences between this and this
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | 100% POS | Assets | Names | Voting | Open Source on: February 09, 2015, 06:50:24 PM
The voting regarding the new wallet version from the AT team has already gathered votes from the 8% of the balances of Qora holders.

As this poll might be crucial I would like to see people move their balances to either on Yes or No and make a decision from the majority of Qora's holders.
So please, motivate yourself a bit to decide what comes next.

How  AT can be used with Bitcoin?

What is needed to be done?
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | 100% POS | Assets | Names | Voting | Open Source on: February 07, 2015, 10:01:40 PM
Thank you so much Vrontis & AT team for this important plan!

Any deadline for the vote?

Hope the community votes for a yes, since this guarantees the future of qora. The dev would want us to keep growing and developing this gem he created.

Of course we thank qora and he is welcome anytime!  Smiley Smiley

Thanks wizzardTim for noted that.I have edited the poll announcement post and added the deadline.
So it will run for a week, I think is fair enough.
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | 100% POS | Assets | Names | Voting | Open Source on: February 07, 2015, 08:00:00 PM

Exactly ... sort of. Wink

I believe there is still an issue with some of the DLL's(?).

I have to wait for someone else's approval before I can release those.

These have been assessed and can likely be replaced with OS versions (it might not be trivial to do this though).

177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | 100% POS | Assets | Names | Voting | Open Source on: February 07, 2015, 07:13:50 PM
Seams like he forgot to OS the native libraries before he left the community.
Does vbcs have access to native libraries SC?

No he hasn't.
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | 100% POS | Assets | Names | Voting | Open Source on: February 07, 2015, 07:05:29 PM
The poll has been created

The poll is needed in order for the AT team gain authorization to review and study the code that they have access in the private repo and then conclude if they can deliver a new wallet version with AT live.

What exactly does that mean.

As you may aware Qora source code is not 100% opened.
Once AT team gained authorization will start reviewing and studying the resources they have in order to conclude if a new wallet version can be delivered.
The results of that review will be announced in public and more likely they will have two answers.

AT team can deliver a new wallet version
AT team cannot deliver a new wallet version.

In the scenario that AT team can deliver a new wallet version, as I said this does not mean that Qora dev is getting kicked out of the project and it's not a "take over" attempt. The new version will have the same rules applied by Qora and it will also have AT live on Qora's blockchain.
Also, me and skerberus we are going to work with the AT team in order to see if it can be included the Pull Request skerberus did made into the new version and also to have the windows installer as well.
I will make sure that there will be a lot of tests before everything goes live to ensure stability of the network and of course, notify everyone to upgrade in order to avoid forks.
AT team is responsible for Automated Transactions and this means that the team will be active and deploying AT and several use cases on top of Qora (ACCT, Crowd Funding, Dormant Transfers etc).

In the scenario that AT team cannot deliver a new wallet version this does not means a lot at the moment but in the future might turn's out to be crucial for Qora.If there will be no further updates this means that any progress might be stopped for an unknown period of time.Of course is always up to Qora dev or anyone who is capable enough to proceed with further development but I have to mention this out due to his absence and have you all aware of that.

Please, vote in order express your opinion and of course express it in here as well.
As I said I would give my best to answer all of your questions.

EDIT : The poll ends on Sunday, 15 of February on the first block after 23:55 GMT
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | 100% POS | Assets | Names | Voting | Open Source on: February 04, 2015, 11:20:15 PM
As you may aware AT is almost ready, (vbcs stated that is 95% done) but due to the absence of Qora dev AT can't go live till Qora dev came back and compile it.

AT team offered to release a wallet update with the AT on Qora live in the near future in order to achieve the AT integration on Qora.

In a few words what does this means...

AT team is not taking over Qora, it is just releasing AT within a new wallet update.
AT team is clearly responsible for the AT and this means that the team will be active on AT, monitoring it and deploying several cases of AT.
Qora dev is the main dev and also he is considered as a member of the AT team as well (he is already worked on the integration and learned AT).But due to his absence and the new wallet update you might think that he is getting kicked out of the project which is not the case, the new wallet update will have the same rules applied by Qora so far and will also have AT live.

I will place a poll about that in the next couple of days to let the community decide if we proceed with this update in the near future.
In the meantime please raise any questions that you might have and I'll do my best to answer properly declaring everything.

180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I think neither Ethereum and AT are going to be the future of blockchains on: January 17, 2015, 06:58:16 PM
If I was I would have moved your thread to alt-currencies. Now I'm not saying that your project isn't interesting. I'm just stating that you are off-topic here, in a subtle way maybe, but still off-topic. I let it up to the mods to make the final call on that matter.

So again it seems that you think you should be in charge of what posts go where.

Like you say - let's leave it up to the mods. Smiley

(as you think that a product that has a BTC Wallet and isn't an alt coin should be moved to alt coins)

I think he is just making an emotional knee jerk reaction because you had the nerve to attack his investment in ethereum. Of course this topic is relevant to Bitcoin as it makes some salient points that more efficient processes are best handled off the blockchain.
