161  Economy / Economics / Re: Honestly do we really got rugpulled in pandemic? on: November 11, 2023, 07:37:53 PM
The pandemic was really beyond our control, and behind the scenes, it seems like COVID has been manipulated by those who've made us follow their strange policies like wearing masks, lockdowns, and getting vaccinated. We're being manipulated. Clearly, it's a huge business for them to gain instant wealth, while we'll never really know what's truly going on behind the scenes. This successful massive scam has left many people feeling helpless due to fear.

The rich get richer through shady means, and the poor get poorer. In the end, those in government positions in every country seem to get away with questionable actions, all within the legal boundaries of the rules they themselves create.

The world health organization warns us and does the government force us to wear masks to reduce the spread of covid Was that a bad thing for us? I don't understand why you think we are manipulated in this way. If wearing a mask and getting vaccinated were on the agenda to make a profit through business then what will you say about those unnecessary medicines doctors prescribe us when they can be controlled only by following good food consuming behaviors? Most of our illnesses can be cured through good food consumption practice and doctors know this and still prescribe medicines that can affect our bodies in the long run. We are being manipulated every day.
162  Economy / Economics / Re: What has really been behind china's economy on: November 11, 2023, 07:31:41 PM
.....
China is a wise country and if you have a relationship with them as a country, they are ready to give you loan to help grow your country without much interest but what I noticed is that many country take the opportunity to keep borrowing money from them and mostly lavish the money without using it to grow there country.

China may have a bigger economy that the United States some day because even the United States depend on China for some certain raw materials to grow there assets. In the next 20 years China might become the world biggest economy so far.

It has been cited many times that China is not an investor, China is an enslaver of the economies of countries that dare to engage with it. The "best" example is China's investment in Sri Lanka, which ended up causing huge problems, mounting debts, and dashed hopes. And this is not the only example. You can very easily find documented information on what "partnering with China" leads to. All of China's investments are to absorb the economies of "friends" and generate huge debts for them....

It is true that china uses its economic power to get influence over a country but we can not blame only them for a countries financial instability. China didn't force any countries to take loan from them and they do something similar that the IMF and world bank do. They charge interest over their loan and if that country can not pay off their debt then they use it as a soft power to control that country's geopolitical decisions.

What happens with Sri Lanka is because of their corrupt government. Their loan was for a sea port that can not generate enough profit to pay off its debt. Corrupt government and politicians have done this and there can be chinease influence as well. But what I can see is china has a great contribution to many 3rd world countries infrastructure development like bridge, school, port, road and many others. They don't do it for free nor the western power. So it is the countries responsibility to use the money in the best way possible so that it can generate enough money to pay off the debt taken from china or other country or institutions.

Op's compilation is good, without any doubt if newbies go through the whole story and this thread they can really avoid making such blunders, I'm sure what we are discussing here, is not the first time this topic has been covered many times before. everyone gives their suggestion some of the newbies pick them and some of them don't.

What we have discussed here is mostly the old methods that scammers are using. These are some new types of scamming methods that I have encountered, and it was a totally new experience for me. If even a few people know about this type of scam method that scammers are using they can be more careful if any similar scenario occurs when they are exploring the internet.
164  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Low Liquidity Altcoins on: November 10, 2023, 05:00:26 PM
Even lower tire exchanges will not list this type of token. They are mostly scam and I can see your token is from the pulse chain. The owner of the pulse chain is filing a case with the SEC. I can not remember what the charge is but i know it's for fraudulent activity with user funds. The concept of this blockchain is ridicule. They just issued all the available tokens in other blockchains that don't have any real value in the pulse chain. Anyway if you still want to trade that token try to use CMC to find a trading pair or drop a message in their community to get a response from their community admin.
165  Economy / Economics / Re: Swiss Franc become a new Cryptocurrency ;D on: November 10, 2023, 04:51:10 PM
The Swiss National Bank has launched a program to digitally transform the Swiss Franc into Cryptocurrency.
Five banks are participating in the experiment, including UBS (Credit Suisse went bankrupt, as we know).

I don't want to compare a national bank-issued digital form of fiat currencies to cryptocurrencies. They saw people disliking CBDC, so they are making publicity for their CBDC as cryptocurrencies so that people can think it is just like bitcoin which is not. If they are launching an experimental version of their CBDC then I guess it will not be available in the open market shortly. Most of the countries are trying to promote their CBDC as good as crypto or better in some cases but that doesn't make any difference.
166  Economy / Economics / Re: Being rich = not looking at price tag on: November 10, 2023, 04:41:34 PM
I often read people saying they want to earn enough money so they don't have to look at price tag of product. Imo, even if you are rich you wouldn't want to spend money on things that are not worthy of price being paid.

You wanna look at product and then it's price, if it's worthy of price, you purchase the product.

Exactly my point of view. I always try to find the best product and then look at the price. If the price is out of my budget then I try to look for the one quality that I can afford to buy. It is just one of the myths among the lower class people that rich people won't look at the price tag. What rich people don't do is bargin for price for a product. If they like the product's quality they pay the price if it's reasonable.
167  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: minimum amounts to buy and sell a coin when trading on: November 09, 2023, 04:20:21 PM
You can use DEX which has no limits. For testing purpose you can try to exchange amounts lower than the gas fees to see if it works or not. For any centralized exchange it's minimum 10$ I think. They will charge some trading fees too though they're very small for a 10-dollar trade. Using a dex doesn't require trading fees you only pay for the approval and transaction fees.
168  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Eng: Tutorial] Kali NetHunter - Linux on Android on: November 09, 2023, 04:10:28 PM

DVlog, I haven't personally used any crypto related software on my Kali NetHunter. So I don't know if it'll work or if it has a compatibility issue or not. To be honest, I don't know if our smartphones have that kind of capacity to run massive level software. The OS itself took up 20GB of my space. Imagine what would happen. But, again, yes, technically, it should work. Give it a try.

Cheers  Wink

Then what is the point of using Linux on our smart phones if we can not use mobile applications? Though I think you are right a smart phone won't be able to install such a large file. I am not sure about this either but using a heavy application can make things slow and the capacity to run an application like this can be limited. I do understand that even if we can manage to install one it won't be as convenient as using an android application.
169  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Eng: Tutorial] Kali NetHunter - Linux on Android on: November 09, 2023, 12:27:11 PM
Do you have any list of devices where such setup can be used normally without any issue or just share the details of the phone's configuration that is needed to set this up?

I guess any Android device over Android 10 and with 6 gigs of RAM and 20 gigs of free space in storage should work. I have not tried anything yet. Since DYING_S0UL already used it, he might have better knowledge regarding this. This looks very good. Whoever hasn't used a computer yet, it will be very interesting for them. If your device supports OTG, then it will be easier to use it with a mouse and keyboard. I have seen some streamers use their mobile device to play games with mous and keyboards using OTG and USB hub.

My phone supports OTG but it has only 4GB of ram which can slow my device I guess. I have the android version and storage if you are giving the correct answer regarding this. May be OP can shed some light on this and clear things up for both of us. I have used Linux on my computer before and it was Kali or Ubuntu, which I can not remember. It was few years ago but the experience was amazing.
170  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Eng: Tutorial] Kali NetHunter - Linux on Android on: November 09, 2023, 11:48:37 AM
Exactly what I was looking for. The law and enforcement agency in my country has been very strict about crypto user and they are investigating peoples phones if they suspect anyone of using crypto. So I was looking for an option where I can use two OSs on a single device where I can use my regular android version of the phone and on top of that Kali Linux can give me a hideout for my crypto related applications. Do you have any list of devices where such setup can be used normally without any issue or just share the details of the phone's configuration that is needed to set this up?
171  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the right age for financial stability? on: November 06, 2023, 05:01:17 PM
I found your topic title a bit misleading. We all work our whole lives for financial stability so does that mean you don't have financial stability in your life? You can talk about how many years it would take for a average person to achieve financial stability. There isn't any right age as we all have different stories, life and surroundings. All these are vital factors for our financial status. It can be very different for each of us.
172  Economy / Economics / Re: New business idea. on: November 06, 2023, 04:55:43 PM
I would have posted this thread on my local board (Nigerian local board) but I didn't because both Nigerians and other countries can still benefit from this little business idea.
The kind of business I want to share is what is called graundnut oil making. This business idea can help someone that doesn't even have a skill and someone that is not even educated, all the person just needs to have is the money to buy the manufacturing equipment that's all.
With this graundnut oil making business, one can get the kind of life he/she wanted because the demands in this graundnut oil making business are a bit high. One can even start with a little money. However, this business is also an investment. If one can dedicate more time to it, he/she can benefit from it (can make it a company).

this information shows how the demands of the graundnut oil is in my country today is.
You can also watch a little on how to manufacture the graundnut oil, I can even invest more if I have this business and start making more money, so what are your takes in this idea?

This business idea might be beneficial for your country but this is a global board and we have people from all over the world here. This is the first time I have heard of this product you are talking about. Do you know why? Because this is not available in my region so how i will be able to benefit from this business idea of yours? I think this business idea is based on your country so it should have been within your local board.
173  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trying to find advice and info about selling BTC on: November 06, 2023, 03:34:03 PM
On this case which trying to pull out that tons of BTC then it cant really be done with bulks, even on piece by piece and if you are that someone who doesnt have a business, then any huge transactions that would
really come in into such account would really be raising up some eyebrows and would really be definitely be asking on where those funds came from. Its not really that totally shocking.
As for p2p on making transactions then it would really be that too risky since we are talking huge money on here. We cant really just easily make out such transaction without no care.

A transaction of this size is not possible to complete on a centralized exchange. It would crash the market on that exchange and cause panic throughout the industry. These exchanges are a kind of broker so they contact potential buyers or they themselves buy those assets through an OTC deal. This way there won't be any impact on the market and usually in a transaction like this buyer makes the transaction below the market price so that both parties can benefit.
174  Other / Meta / Re: Requesting for a Bengali translation and Press release sub board on: November 06, 2023, 03:15:50 PM
After all these topics regarding which boards we need, we have already seen Requesting for a Bengali translation and Press release sub board and Request for a board of made-up stories by Poker Player. @DVlog, you should step up and create an application thread and the title should be Request for a board to Congratulate ranked up members (Dedicated to Bengali only). It's ridiculous how our locals jump up to congratulate others with the hope that they will get some merits. A total of eight members congratulated a guy because he ranked up even though I believe these are not eight different people. Max three people controlling these eight accounts.

I already suspect this and even criticize it on our local board. This guy will reveal their true color one day for sure. We already have some eagle eyes in the forum so what they are doing will be caught eventually one by one. I also saw how these accounts were circulating merit from one account to another. So if somehow one of them got a merit from the global board these people would earn them eight merits by circulating them through all of these eight accounts.

    Story 1:
I don't know why you blanked the project's name. Could it be that there's a genuine project by that name or it's just a random name? Anyway, not as if blanking the name prevents anything for those who are keen on finding out what project that was with their search tools.

I blanked the project name so that curious people don't try to join that projects discord and lose their discord ID though the project name is visible in the OpenSea listing page.

    Story 2:
I downloaded that file and installed it in my virtual box as a precaution, though I wasn’t aware that this file contained malware.
This is the first time I heard of this and the wonder you said it did. Could you be gracious enough to share a link to this particular stuff if it has an app and how to use it, if it's a complex stuff.

Here you will get the download link of VirtualBox and documentation about how you can use it. I am pretty sure there are many tutorial in youtube how you can setup and run that application as well.

    Story 3:
In the meantime those scammers were pushing me to submit the link quickly which i didn’t.
As a rule of thumb, once anyone pushes you to be hasty in taking a financial decision know it's a scam about to go down. I tend to slow down more once anyone does this with me. I want to find out why they're in a hurry.

They were in a hurry so that i can't carefully examine the phishing link they want me to use so that they can get the details of my discord account. They wanted to inject a script in my browser so that they will be able to receive all the data i will use in the future or something like that.[/list]
176  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Learn from my experience how to protect yourself from crypto scam on: November 06, 2023, 11:41:33 AM
I took a lot of time to read through this topic, in the 4 stories you told here they are quite very usually or most times we have witnessed same actions from scammers. But there is no clear message in any of the story i didn't find any underlying message from the stories. Your express of getting into scam is a clear intention of knowing what the scammer what to say. Here we have been caution regularly that when you get first message from unknown source it is usually a scam activity any one who choose to keep the conversation is either wanting the scam or is too greed to push him or herself to scam.

Once you get compromised in any of you social media handle the most advanced technics to stop your identity from being used for scam is to create another account and report the ongoing action.
When an individual offer you a deal that is worth an amount that is beyond reasonable doubt you should know it's all scam. Like how can I offer you a $200 profit in a minute or an hour, the first question you need to ask yourself is why didn't I do it and get the profit myself. So you see scams are easy to dictate. When it comes to installation google verification is required. Where you are ask to download an app that is not verified you should know is a scam.

If you are a community moderator by profession then you will understand the purpose of my post. All these phishing attempts have been used mostly for community moderators. A stranger can be a scammer or he can be a legit user you can not say that without having a conversation. And it is not uncommon to get a job offer from another project if you are doing a moderation job in a project and scammers are using it to target moderators in different discord servers. If you are a moderator you can not ignore messages in your DM as you are responsible for community support as well.

The purpose was to give an introduction to the community about the new phishing methods scammers are using these days and how they can protect their account and their server from being compromised.
177  Other / Beginners & Help / Learn from my experience how to protect yourself from crypto scam on: November 06, 2023, 08:44:02 AM
Crypto is an unregulated space that's why crypto users became obvious targets of scammers. We have seen different methods used by these scammers repeatedly to scam people who were not careful enough. When a method became popular and commonly known by the community they came up with new ideas of scams. I want to share with the community some new phishing attempts and how a user can protect themselves from it.

By profession, i am a community moderator and a social media security expert. I am working on a few projects and i am responsible for the security of those project’s telegram and discord servers. Till now there have been countless phishing attempts to take control of my social media account. Most of them were using the same methods but some of them are unique and different from one another so they need to be shared individually.

    New crypto phishing techniques

    • Story 1: I got a message in my inbox and as a community moderator i start taking the initiative to respond to that user's message. He offered me a job right away and wanted to know if I had any interest or not. I already suspect a possible scam attempts but I still wanted to see how he would try to convince me to fall for his scam. He shared the project details with me and for being a NFT project he shared its OpenSea URL so that he could convince me it was a legit project. You can see from the screen shot below that this NFT project has a nice fake volume. At the end of the talking i told him that I was interested and how we could start working. He told me to join their discord server first so that we could proceed with our negotiation. So i went to their discord server to see if they had one. When i tried to verify my account through dyno bot it redirected me to a phishing UI of discord you can see from the screenshot below. A new user would think he needs to log into his Discord account to get access to that server but the URL in the address bar shows us this is a phishing URL that has been placed very carefully through a popular discord bot.

    • Story 2: One day i got a message in my telegram account with a job offer. A guy told me that they are a team of P2E game developers and that they are looking for game testers for their upcoming game. When i asked him how he found me he gave me a reference to one of my telegram friends whom I had known for a long time. He said that he and my friend had worked on several projects before. So started to contact my friend to verify this claim In the meantime i start talking about the job he offered me. I was convinced that this guy is legit as there is no way he knows about my friend if my friend won’t tell him about me. So I kept the negotiation ongoing and at the end that guy told me to install the game they developed and start playing so that they could collect my review of the game. I downloaded that file and installed it in my virtual box as a precaution, though I wasn’t aware that this file contained malware. My precaution saved me that day and I am still waiting for my friends responses about those guys! I guess my friend's telegram got hacked and that scammer found my contact information from there.

    • Story 3: One of the similar stories starts with story number 1. I am going to tell only the part that doesn’t match with story no 1. I have shared this story before with a topic you can read that topic as well. [Scammers are getting innovative.] After getting interested in their job they told me that they wanted to take an interview with me so I agreed to that and they have created a group with their so called CEO to start making a call. They start a voice call so that their identity won’t be revealed. After the interview and all the negotiations about the salary and work they told me I needed to fill out a form with all the details so that they could put that into their employee documents. When I tried to fill out the form and click submit it said there was some problem with my brower and I needed to drag that link to the bookmark bar to submit the form. There were clear instructions with images too. When i tried to drag that i have noticed there was something written in JavaScript, so i tried to figure out what it could be. In the meantime those scammers were pushing me to submit the link quickly which i didn’t. Sometimes i figured out that it was a phishing link.

    • Story 4: A few days ago, in one of my communities, I saw some unusual conversations between two accounts. Those conversations weren’t like regular ones, so it turned red in my mind. After a long conversation where they were talking about the football championship suddenly they started talking about a crypto project event where one guy claimed to get $200 worth of tokens. So the other guy asked for the event URL and he shared a website where he could get that token. That was a scam site and as soon as the victim connects his wallet scammers will drain all the funds from that wallet.

Some Proactive Measures to Safeguard Yourself from similar scam attempts

1.If you are using social media like telegram and discord then always use 2FA features to add extra security to your account.

    2. If you are an admin in any discord community then from your server safety setup permission turn on “ Require 2FA for moderator action”. This feature will not let your community moderator do any moderation action if their 2FA option is not activated. This is extremely helpful to protect your community in case one of your community mods account is compromised.

    3. Keep your server security bot above your community moderator role so that those bot can keep track of moderator behavior and take action against any fishy action.

    4. Always use a virtual box in case you need to install any application or open any URL.

    5. Don’t rush for any offer or anything. Be calm and cross-check everything no matter how legit something seems to you.
178  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's your take on CEX platforms integrating DEX capabilities like swapping? on: November 05, 2023, 07:54:45 PM
So, what's your take on CEX platforms integrating DEX capabilities?

The only difference I see is that you don't need to pay for the gas fees for your transaction. Actually CEX has most of the capabilities a dex has and on top of that CEX provides some extra benefits like massive liquidity and excludes the necessity of transaction fees. Perhaps this is a reason why CEX is still more popular than dex even after incidents like Mr.Gox and FTX where their users lost millions of dollars worth of assets.
    179  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Pro-trend or Counter-trend? on: November 05, 2023, 07:50:15 PM
Some people think that you should always follow the trend when you trade to increase your winning probability.

    Is that true?

This term is true for the altcoin market. Though there are other factors that are also responsible for the massive rally of some altcoin. The problem is that if any token is pumping without any trend going on for that category of altcoin then it is being manipulated by the whale or someone who has insider news. That's why most retail investors have never been able to take entry at the exact bottom before the pump if they haven't already invested in that project by that time.

When there is an ongoing trend, usually all the altcoins in that category start pumping no matter how good or legit that project is. This happens because retail investors start looking for projects that haven't pumped yet in that category. That is the reason all the projects in that certain category start pumping eventually.
180  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer to own a luxury watch or invest in bitcoin or other assets? on: November 05, 2023, 07:42:00 PM
I want to do both but not like most others. What people do is when they have some extra money in their hand they go to the market and buy expensive things which brings more liability with them. Most people don't know the difference between assets and liabilities which is the biggest reason they can not progress financially and end up in debt. The right approach is to make investments in assets and the profit that assets generate can be used to buy expensive things if you want to. I think if someone understands that it is more fun to make wealth than to have an expensive watch or car then he won't have those expensive liabilities anymore.
