161  Economy / Gambling / Re: SwCpoker.eu | No Banking, Only Bitcoin | Bitcoin Poker 2.0 LIVE NOW! on: July 23, 2015, 08:26:59 PM
You can spin the story of new ownership all you want but the fact is Micon held himself out as the owner online, posted video's, ran the operations etc.

Now suddenly he is not the owner, never handled funds and so forth?

So when players ask who is it now that does since we were lead to believe something supposedly not the case any longer we are trolls?

It doesn't matter anymore the only people who care are the States in which those people live or should I say lived?

Is that why I cannot know who owned email address 12puqy@gmx.com because they are American... wait don't answer that I nor do any players deserve to know who handles their bitcoin, right.

I have actually believed Micon to be the owner too . But I used to think he didn't develop or handles the coding for the site.
The only reason those people are being called trolls is since it really doesn't matter like you say . Even if they give you a name, nothing will come out of it. And since in the past it has gone against Micon to reveal his identity  therefore it would have the same affect on anyone in the future linking themselves to Seals .

I agree to a degree.

What bothers me is this.

If Micon did not handle the technical aspect of things, that was fine, known in fact.

However he did hold himself out as the owner of the new seals and since that has since changed or never changed since they say he was not and never had control it makes me worried. Who exactly is held responsible for major issues such as theft etc? Were they just using him to maintain confidence and now "they" no longer can?

See my point.

I do see your point but think about it like this. On every single bitcoin based gambling site there is no owner whose identity is publicly known. For example Primedice is run by Stunna. Now we don't know his real identity . Its just an online identity . Any site could be claimed to be run by an individual or a team . They could always have been using him to maintain confidence but even if they didn't it wouldn't mean they would still not have got all the traffic. Without an Identity behind the people who run the site , you can believe it to be just like any other gambling site. Your argument applies to each such site. A lot of sites in the past have ended as scams which has also been in forms of  running away with player funds . If you do not leave a huge chunk of money on the sites then its fine. If you are worried about your funds on the site , then withdrawing the funds is the best course of action after every game.

In any case of theft I am sure Micon would still come on the forum and help people in getting their money back incase a theft was to occur as he does happen to know the identity of the original owners.
162  Economy / Economics / Re: How The Ecomony Affects The Real Estate Market? on: July 23, 2015, 07:38:38 PM
I have had some experience with real estate markets and I feel the price hugely depends . Firstly the economic slowdown definitely affects the price , but it varies from country to country . Not all countries might see a huge downtrend . If you have noticed the prices of real estate in China and India have more than Quadrupled in the years between 2000-2012 , so the fall doesn't really hit them that hard except for people who got in towards the end. The major cities in these countries are also overpopulated so the price is likely to increase again in the future due to demand after the economy becomes stable again .
If you compare US to these countries then real estate company which just buys real estate for investments aren't really running in the manner of holding the real estates just to sell them later and its definitely not the best business to get in. However going into the commission based sector would likely pay off more.
163  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bachelor's thesis on Bitcoins on: July 23, 2015, 07:31:51 PM
Hi everybody!

I am a finance bachelor student.  I am thrilled with the topic of Bitcoin and would like to write my thesis on it. However I have trouble formulating the topic for the thesis. Could you give me a hint? it would be great to have something from the bank perspective, but it is not a must. So far I got not that many ideas, like trying to find interrelations between the bitcoin exchange rate moves and some commodities or indices.

If you want to relate it to banks , How about something along the lines of " The impact of blockchain/bitcoin technology on banks " and doing some research into what the banks are planning to implement with the blockchain and going along that line.
164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and cryptocurrency-related studies and jobs in the US on: July 23, 2015, 07:24:18 PM
Hey bomberb,
There is another master of science in digitial currency in the university of Nicosia in Cyprus. Also checkout MIT, Harvard and UCL as they all have some modules in bitcoin but no courses.

As for work, I would look into the application of blockchain technology to help broaden your job hunt. Here you'll find a whole range of tech companies and banks that are using this technology and you could perhaps get a job there. The colleges I mention would be helpful for you seeking these jobs.

Most of them will likely be in the finance side and not technological side.
bomberb , what exactly would be your skillset or your area of interest for the job hunt ?

You're pretty gullible, I guess.  Because this is the same idiot who has been trolling and making ridiculous accusations on a shit-ton of sites, claiming Micon personally stole Bitcoin from him (and then disappearing when pressed on details), and otherwise shitposting on other sites as well as this one.

ETA:  I suppose you have a point they could have reacted more for the benefit of casual observers.  I'm under no such obligation myself, but they're probably sick of dealing with this troll.

And when someone demands contact information on people who clearly and openly have remained anonymous for years, why do they expect a polite response to bullshit like that?

You're absolutely right. I should have been more level headed about these things. I'm not a PR guy, they arrested the person that was good at that role. I'm a developer wearing an ill-fitting PR hat. After constant replies from this troll not taking no for an answer and him making FUD posts on tons of forums I reacted poorly. I should have ignored him, which is what I'll do in response to trolling in the future. Gomenasai, please forgive me. ;_;

Interesting... who was arrested, and what for? I followed the SWC situation somewhat loosely but never heard about that.

They probably mean Micon who was not exactly arrested but was charged with running SWC even though he was only the PR person.

I didn't realize SWC was shut down due to legal reasons -- is it because it was an unlicensed poker site or something?

Actually it was a few months back and I don't think it was ever shut down due to the unlicensed problem. From what I recall they were shifting to a new software so they had shutdown the previous site, also due to a bug I believe. I think it was after launching the new site that they ran into the licensing problem and Micon was to appear in court.

168  Economy / Marketplace / Re: USD investment opportunity, real estate.. on: July 23, 2015, 04:08:41 PM
Anyone else have success in the run ups the last couple years, and want to go into something more secure and safe... I am seeking partners to get into real estate with. I would say say 100K USD min investment. Sky is the limit as we build up equity and scale up. I see us having hundreds of units renting out within 5 years. If anyone wants to get in with me, let’s discuss. I have a big money mindset and will handle all management, but your level of involvement is up to you. PM me.
I suppose more information about the country would be something required before you get any interest , also information about payment being in Bitcoin etc would be helpful in having someone decide.
169  Economy / Services / Re: I need a cheap VPN service on: July 23, 2015, 03:31:56 PM
I have also been using Cyberghost VPN when needed and would definitely recommend it. They have a cheap price if you buy it for around 6 months and do accept payment in bitcoin.
170  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitPlutos.com - Legit or scam ? on: July 23, 2015, 03:29:03 PM
Seems to be a brand new site. Hard to comment on it just yet. I would suggest waiting for a bit . They also don't seem to have an ANN thread which is essential for any customers to address their concerns off the site.
171  Economy / Gambling / Re: Does investment option is the important feature for a gambling site? on: July 22, 2015, 12:52:20 PM
Exactly. The question I want to answer for myself is: what is the priority of adding "investment option" to the website? It's a lot of things to work on. New games, user interface upgrade, etc. I did some research, but it's better to back it up with personal opinions of Bitcointalk users.
Its important for the site owner because they can set up the site in a risk free way if they don't want to bankroll the site but just want to run it an take commission. As for the gamblers , its just an option to invest in a +EV plan .
172  Economy / Gambling / Re: VietBet.eu - Sportsbook, Casino, Racebook, & Poker Room *** Bitcoin Accepted *** on: July 22, 2015, 12:46:35 PM
its really cool to see that you decided to add bitcoin in your website, though it would be better if you could add the cashier for bitcoin, any ideas when it will come because i dont want to play it without a proper way of depositing

its cool that you decided to accept bitcoins i will download your software and try it as soon as possible i hope i will get good quality experience as i play it

I don't think are accepting bitcoins right now directly . Someone posted that they accept if you email them and request bitcoin deposit. But thats not exactly called accepting and is still complicated if you want to play . As for the virus goes, Its hard to say anything about it unless multiple people claim the same . They have decent online presence and if someone found a trojan, it would probably would have destroyd their rep by now.
173  Economy / Gambling / Re: VietBet.eu - Sportsbook, Casino, Racebook, & Poker Room *** Bitcoin Accepted *** on: July 22, 2015, 05:26:17 AM

They are legit company. I played and withdraw there with no problems. They have active support.

If you want to deposit bitcoins you need to contact support because it is manual minimum is $50. And for withdrawal yes it available but also manual.

Thanks for letting us know. I didn't say they were not legit . I was just wondering if they had finally added bitcoin to their system yet.

how to change my email there? U have suspended my account, i had to create another one. I created one with my older email, i couldn't create a new poker username, and created another one, the newest one was suspended, why you suspended my first account when i had only 1 account??

I have to create 3 accounts here, that's insane

You might want to be careful leaving any balance on those accounts. Most of the poker sites(only swc is the exception I know off)  do not allow multiple accounts. So if they suspect something foul they might freeze the funds on the 3rd account as well. Would be better to wait for a support reply.
174  Economy / Gambling / Re: Favorite poker sites? on: July 22, 2015, 05:24:18 AM
I would suggest Nitrogen
have hourly freeroll and ard 12-18 players take part in each
Hourly freeroll  with 0.001 prize money. Playing against 15 other players for that amount is a joke. I am sure the games wouldn't be fun either as everyone would likely be just shoving every hand.
175  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: C CEX Pulled Inside ICO Scam with VERSA on: July 20, 2015, 06:07:10 PM
Get the word out.  ICO are scammy, but I've never seen such blatant collusion between an exchange and dev.

Stay away from ccex.  Take to Twitter, spread the word.  Community take a stand against this.
I am not much of an ICO fan myself following a few losses . But there is definitely not a possible dev+exchange scam . I haven't read or seen the ICO thread , but if an exchange had to scam , then it would do so itself . Partnering with a dev sets them up to a possible extortion where the dev could blackmail them . If they were to pull it off themselves it would not pose any future problems. Again not saying it is a scam or if C-Cex  is a scam. Just pointing out the probable , incase it is one.
176  Economy / Gambling / Re: VietBet.eu - Sportsbook, Casino, Racebook, & Poker Room *** Bitcoin Accepted *** on: July 20, 2015, 05:49:53 PM

Any updates on whether you guys have added bitcoin to the deposit options ? Also will it be available for withdrawal as well ?
177  Economy / Gambling / Re: Recomended poker rooms (poll version) on: July 20, 2015, 05:48:59 PM
I would recommend vietbet.eu it has many players and gtd tournaments.

Really ? Never even heard of it . I am not sure if they have added bitcoin yet. The last update they had  said they are still in the process of adding bitcoin. Have they already added it  ?
178  Economy / Services / Re: ANY EXTREME HACKERS IN THE HOUSE ???? on: July 20, 2015, 05:23:11 PM
Maybe try the deep web for that kind of service? You'll see a lot of "extreme hackers" in there.

I don't like deepweb shit !!!!!

I want my website to get passed under extreme test !!

Think of start a bounty or something maybe. Seen many websites in the past offer bounties to have people test their website by trying to break it.
179  Economy / Gambling / Re: SwCpoker.eu | No Banking, Only Bitcoin | Bitcoin Poker 2.0 LIVE NOW! on: July 18, 2015, 06:55:09 AM

Why won't anyone deny or confirm then that Brandon Casten is possibly the new owner of swcpoker or always was a partner? Maybe no association at all?

The key is this email 12puqy@gmx.com, no one can straight answer the issue with it, read 3-4 pages back. Can a US citizen operate a gambling site located in Antigua legally?

Not sure why you think he is and it should be necessary for SWC to make it public. From what we saw Micon faced charges just being a spokesperson to the site , therefore any other person who identifies himself to be related to the site would just be taking a risk to face charges on himself as well.
180  Economy / Gambling / Re: UK Gambling Commission says UK based sites need a license! on: July 18, 2015, 06:44:32 AM
Pretty much the standard reply . I suppose would have to be followed by IP blocking  . Asking country on registration will always have work arounds and would be useless .

If you take immediate steps to remedy the situation, this may avoid the need for the Commission to

take the matter further.

Perhaps you could drop another message asking about this .
