Anyone heard of these yet? Looks like innosilicon are catching up.

And bitmain will have massive selling of L3+ to lower market demand  Grin

Either that or Bitmain will drop the L4 Antminer with 1Ghs. They always have a way of raining on Inno's parade.

I'm guessing it will be called the "L5". The "S" series always reserved the even numbers for rack-mounted servers that were usually based on the same chips they were currently selling, but in greater quantity.

Guys I have a questions related to all the antminers.

I know they are loud, but are they "put it in a room close the door and you´ll be fine" loud, "you have to put it in the basement and you won´t notice them" loud, or are they
"will fuck up the whole neighbourhood" loud?

2nd one more likely , its like a vaccum cleaner loud

I can second the vacuum cleaner comparison - that's about the only way to describe it.

So the order of my L3+'s that I was able to get from the mid-October batch was just today marked as "Expired" as it's been 7 days since they released it, even though I sent the wire transfer on the 28th, and uploaded proof the same day. They're going to change the status of my order back to Valid once they receive the transfer today or tomorrow, correct? If my order was just sold with that last small batch they released that was supposed to be unpaid orders... because my transfer didn't go through in time...  I'm going to be pissed.

Don't worry, this happens to us every time we do wire transfers and Bitmain always works it out (with the help of a support ticket occasionally). You won't get bumped, but I'd recommend submitting a support ticket now rather than later just to be safe.

I just found out that there are 2 type PSU for L3+

* APW3++ will cost 105 USD
* APW3++ for L3+ will cost 115 USD

The different only the connector, 5 pair (10 connector) and 9 pair (18 connector)

Its cost wise if we choose 9 pair since its could power up 2 L3+ at 220V,
BUT.. i need another view or opinion such as temp, power and effect to the L3+ for long run,

At 220v, each L3+ uses 750 watts (more efficient) and the APW3++ is definitely capable of supporting 100% load 24/7 (unlike consumer grade PSUs). I would highly recommend saving money and going with the 18 connector version if you already have 220v power. We've been running a couple sets in this configuration for months without issue. Total power draw from the wall is 1500w per pair.

I watched your video where you measure the power consumed by an L3+ on 120V and on 220V (240V?) using a Kill-a-watt P3 P4400 power meter.

I tried to do the same thing with my Kill-a-watt P3 P4400 a few years ago.  I noticed that on the label it's only rated for up to 125V, and when connected to 240V, it reported the frequency as 30Hz.  After seeing that I didn't trust any of the other numbers it reported when connected to a 240V source.

Good catch, I didn't even realize that the P4400 wasn't rated for 240v until someone else mentioned it in the YouTube comments. It appears to work and I've re-tested with a digital clamp meter that is rated up to 400v and got the same results. The frequency does show 30Hz, which makes me wonder how it's able to get the wattage properly. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hey guys, got one few days ago but wondering something. Earlier in the thread there was talk about power cords and i am not sure what to do.

I got 1600W psu (unfortunately couldnt get my hands on original Bitmain's so had to buy http://apluspower.manufacturer.globalsources.com/si/6008835682132/pdtl/Switching-power/1152345293/1680W-Power-Supply.htm) and 1 antminer l3+. So my question is, will regular cable for computer psu (10A 50-60 hertz) suffice to power up what i have, or will i have to get some stronger cable, and if yes, which one exactly?

Thanks in advance for answers!
2 answers here:
1) L3+ draw is about 750W, so at 120V that's approx 6.5 A, so there is absolutely no problem drawing that from a standard 120V 15A outlet.
2) To be "SAFE", consider that the PSU can draw up to 1680W, which at 120V is 14A. That's right at the limit of the available power from a standard 120V 15V outlet. Consider that most PSU's are rated around 80%, so if you divide 14A by 0.80, you get 17.5A which is overloaded for that circuit.

So, a single L3+ is fine on a 120V 15A circuit, The wattage of the PSU is a max rating, doesn't mean it will actually draw 1680W if the load is only 750W then it will draw 750W and not 1680W.
You could have a 10000W PSU and if the "load" on the PSU is 750W then that's what you will see at the wall outlet (don't forget the 80%, so more like 925W max). Still well within a single standard US circuit limit.
The L3+ only draws 750 on a 205 0r above voltage. It is 800 minimally at 110v.

Ok, then still good for a single L3+ on a standard 120V 15A circuit. The 800W draw along with an 80% efficient PSU is under 8.5A out of a 15A circuit.

Keep in mind that this PSU mentioned by koljach is not compatible with 120v. The link shows that the AC input ranges from 176v to 264v.

How much more money would they make if they fixed the ordering process?

...and that's why they won't be fixing the ordering process anytime soon.

I think this is the first batch they've accepted Dash for:

Noo they accepted DASH for D3 last batch (if i am not mistaken)

You could be right, I wasn't sure.

Looking to grab 2 L3+ this evening... I live in the U.S., who is the best shipper?  UPS, FedEx?
DHL if available.  Fast, inexpensive and dependable.

We order hundred of packages from Bitmain and UPS has been the most reliable in terms of the condition that they arrive in. I'm sure a lot has to do with the specific people at the end of the chain delivering our packages, so our experience may not be the same as for others. Fedex and DHL both experience more frequent customs delays for some reason as well.

Any interesting x11 coins launching in November? It would be nice to have alternative to dash...

Helium is supposed to be coming soon.

See my sig.

M
I just skimmed the Helium Whitepaper and saw no reference to the X11 Algorithm. Do you have knowledge that this will be the platform?

Helium is a fork of Dash and will use the same X11 algorithm (at first). There will be a review some time after launch in which the hashing algorithm will be re-evaluated, but I doubt that will happen within the first 12 months.

Source: I just searched the Helium slack channel for all references to X11 and this seems to be the current consensus.

Still waiting for my Aug-Sept order to get marked shipped!!  Get them here and then off to the COLO!!!

Which COLO do you use, if you don't mind me asking?
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BitMain not delivering it's L3 batches as promised on: August 29, 2017, 05:25:39 PM
Belongs in ALTCOIN sections folks...Expect it to be moved

The main question is.
Did the other customers get their early August batches, or not?

Regards,
O.

There were two August batches. The first was scheduled to ship from Bitmain between August 15-25 and the second August batch was actually August 28th through September 12th. The OP is mistaken about having an "Early" August batch. Perhaps they had a July 20-30 batch, but there was no early August batch. We received our mid August batch already and have received shipping confirmation for the late August / early Sept batch.

Can someone suggest a pack of good, reliable and honest pools (if any) ?

Why don't you try the official pools recommended by dash?

https://www.dash.org/pools/

Try them all and report back please, to see which one is best.

Anyone try ProHashing.com's X11 pool? What about NiceHash? I'm guessing those will be popular choices come September.

Hi CryptoCrane

I'm new in asic mining . I've a few question about difficulty and dash price in october.
In your opinion what it would be in october ?
I'd already order 2 D3 late october batch and I suggest it would make me at least 30-50$ / day in late october . Is that possible?

That's a tough question to answer with any sort of accuracy. In my opinion, the October batch will absolutely be profitable and will be earning more than $30-$50/day for at least a month. It's the late November batch that is worrisome due to it being so much larger. I'm much less worried than others here about the competition pumping out X11 miners and predict that Bitmain will be the only one to deliver on time and to spec.

How do you know the late Nov batch is so much larger?  I thought it only sold out slower because it was crypto-only.

We don't "know" for sure, but the source code on Bitmain's order page showed a decreasing quantity available as new orders came in. The late November batch appears to be in the 30k range. It's very difficult to know how many of those orders were actually paid - my guess is less than half. I've seen estimates for batch 1 ranging from 250-500, but that seems too low.

Hi there for the l3+ reselling price I'm buying would be roughly 2.5k usd  for the batch for end of Oct.  Is it still worth investing in l3+ at that price point If you start mining at early nov. After having done a few nights of reading about lite coin currently there's still good amount of profit to be earn from l3+ even though l3+ has been out since may. But till Nov I have no idea how will it be. Any suggestion guys?

You will likely break even in 4-6 months at current litecoin prices and assuming the difficulty continues to climb the way it has been.

When the first batch will be shipped?
What are the scheduled date of shipping of all the batches?

Cheers

Batch 1: September 15-25
Batch 1.1: September 18-25
Batch 2: October 15-25
Batch 3: November 1-15
Batch 4: November 16-23

Many of getting this problems, May be L3+ have weak hardware, There are many complaints about L3+ miner on the forums and websites. I also got problem in 3 week. And aslo difficulty increased soo much. We dont get earn more but, Bitmain company Earning Super. We are the fools, buying the miner.

I've found complaints on forums to be a bad indicator as to how reliable a product is. The vast majority of people without problems don't post. To date, we've received 110 AntMiner L3+ units straight from Bitmain. Thus far, we've only identified 1 bad hashing board. It's obviously still a young product, but we're finding them to be much more reliable than the S9 series.
