161  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BITCOIN TESTNET supply on: March 19, 2024, 12:57:50 AM
I will buy tBTC do you have any to sell?
Given that it is easy to mine and that its purpose for testing, it is not supposed to have value, and if people continue to buy it to get an airdrop, Testnet3 will be reset with a different genesis block.

Do not put your money into buying Testnet3 or keeping it long-term.
162  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: new Bisq 2 (P2P BTC Exchange System) is out! on: March 17, 2024, 10:09:07 PM
Bisq2 came with the concept of reputation, which means that there is an emphasis on having fewer sellers compared to buyers, and sellers will try to build their trust profile over time, that also means that the price premium will be much higher, which is something that I did not like.

Atomic swap and submarine Swaps are the things I would like to try the most, especially since a wallet like Electrum has started implementing the idea. Therefore, I expect greater growth for the Lightning Network in the coming years, especially solutions like LBTC-LUSDT.
163  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: DIY Seed Storage on a soda can on: March 17, 2024, 09:49:10 PM
It is good, but choosing aluminum for storing seeds is not good, especially since it is susceptible to corrosion, compared to stainless steel, which is less susceptible to deformation or bending and tolerates heat well.

It will be more difficult to decrypt the code in recovery if the slightest distortion occurs, as encoding the word using a single code makes any distortion occur in a row or column, leading to the loss of 3 words and a longer time for brute force.

One mistake will increase the number of available options. If there were two rows for each word, it would be better.
164  Economy / Services / Re: Web design bring your vision to life with customized website on: March 17, 2024, 12:49:15 AM
€200 for a frontend design is not a small amount. It is better to give more details about the developer team and show your previous projects or a screenshot of them.
165  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Krux Hardware Signer - new release v24.03.0 on: March 17, 2024, 12:45:10 AM
It's the first time I've heard about this device, but no Bluetooth and 200mAh battery, in addition to Bitcoin signing firmware, is a good thing and worth trying. I am surprised that in this article https://selfcustody.github.io/krux/getting-started/ electrum was not mentioned even though it can work with BIP-39 mnemonic.

It is better to improve your method of generating entropy https://selfcustody.github.io/krux/getting-started/usage/generating-a-mnemonic/
166  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: BTC funds dissapeared from my Electrum Wallet on: March 15, 2024, 11:28:29 PM
your hacked bitcoins have not moved since March 9, so they were most likely sent to a wallet and not an exchange. When these coins are moved, you may have a chance to try to track them.
Double-check that you have downloaded the correct wallet by verifying the signature.
Search the ESET antivirus logs for any activity at that time or search the logs of your computer.
If there is no activity, most likely your seeds have been discovered and it is best for you to consider creating a new wallet.
167  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: What happened to the Voltpay application? on: March 15, 2024, 11:08:16 PM
voltpay.app was the original domain. Right now, when you type voltpay.app, you are redirected to google.com but I don't know why they enabled this redirection. The project was probably not very popular and maybe their developers gave up, their twitter account, @VoltPayApp doesn't exist either.
waybachmachine shows a screenshot of the service dated last December, so something happened at the beginning of this year.
You will find the link to voltpay.app dated last December here https://web.archive.org/web/20231203102400/http://voltpay.app/
In addition to Twitter, they have the option to contact you by email, but I do not think they will respond to you.
168  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BITCOIN TESTNET supply on: March 15, 2024, 11:03:59 PM
Testnet is a different blockchain from Bitcoin, since it is different from Bitcoin, supposed to have no value and is used for testing purposes, why is the supply limited? Testnet3 was introduced to avoid the problem of high difficulty and limited supply would increase that difficulty.
169  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: What happened to the Voltpay application? on: March 14, 2024, 12:40:36 AM
I searched for this wallet and did not find any details about it. only mentioned that it is a simple point of sale app without any details. lightning network recovery for these services can be imported by obtaining the wallet seed and select the path in addition to an encrypted backup of your channels. search for this information and you can back-up your channels to any wallet.
170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can't make TXN'error: bad-txns-inputs-missingorspent'.Wrong balances on explorer on: March 12, 2024, 01:06:53 AM
Update

was able to move all tBTC from these wallets by importing seed to Electrum and completing txns there
I then added some tBTC to one of the wallets (tb1qkq9zcr9wavrzzsav5xythy32jrplh2sym8jmm0) from a other different wallets
However, I am still not able to send from Unisat wallet still same error, thought completing txns might have cleared the issue but it has not. It is still reporting more 'Available' than 'balance' though values have changed, obviously
seems like it must be a Unisat issue if I am able to send with another wallet app....
171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you ready to join DeFi on Bitcoin? on: March 11, 2024, 01:50:22 AM
DeFi has come to refer to bridges more than Blockchains or layers. The bridges that make it possible to exchange different tokens or coins between several blockchains are the basis of what is known as DeFi (although the word de means decentralized,) most hacks come because of these bridges being central and working on the principle of locking coins or minting-and-burning concept.

crypto.com article made a mistake when it compared layer 2 and side-chains and this explains the writer’s lack of distinction between layer 2 and side-chains.

Quote
Some of the scaling layers such as Lightning Network focus on payments while others (e.g. Stacks, Rootstock) are general-purpose smart contract layers that enable different types of applications, such as those related to DeFi and NFT, to be built.

For this reason, we see that side networks such as Rootstock have bridges to Ethereum https://tokenbridge.rsk.co, but this does not exist in the Lightning Network where there is no bridge to EVM Ethereum/SOL Blockchains

172  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Anyway to reduce fan speed of S17+ whilst I am working on it? on: March 11, 2024, 01:31:58 AM
Completely stopping fans from working will lead to an increase in temperature, which will shorten economical life-span. Do not try to stop the fans and always keep the temperature below <70°C.
Adjusting the fan operation options and setting it to 80%-90% will reduce the noise somewhat. If the option is not present, try adjusting it manually as shown here

173  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum - recover wallet on: March 11, 2024, 12:57:44 AM
I have just tried (downloaded OS X version) but it results strangely empty with no transactions in the history, that is quite impossible. So maybe I made some mistakes. Any idea?
Did you extended your seed with custom word/s? If so, add that extra word.

If you did not add an additional word, search for the Bitcoin address that you deposited to. Remember where you purchased Bitcoin from and search for the ID for that transaction. After you get the address, search for that address in the address list or type in the console and type ismine("YOUR_BITCOIN_ADDRESS").

If that address is not in the wallet, you most likely made a mistake with the wallet seed.
174  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: What needs to be improved or added to your preferred BTC Wallet? on: March 11, 2024, 12:44:32 AM
For example if you wanted to create a smart contract with a condition (OP_IF family), maybe even some nested conditions (OP_IF inside an OP_IF Wink), use a locktime (like OP_CLTV) and a couple of public keys and check sig ops you'll have to write such a script manually then bend over backwards to sign it and maybe get an address out of it and send some funds. That is only if you are lucky and haven't made a mistake and locked your coins forever!

Miniscript is receiving more attention and development is continuing, almost the most wallet that supports Miniscript https://github.com/AreaLayer/FireBolt you can try it. There is also https://min.sc
I see that some Lightning wallets have started exploiting Bitcoin's Taproot Upgrade to enhance privacy and user experience, but we need to wait about a year to see more use cases.
175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can't make TXN'error: bad-txns-inputs-missingorspent'.Wrong balances on explorer on: March 11, 2024, 12:29:56 AM
bad-txns-inputs-missingorspent is a synchronization error that leads to an attempt to send a UTXO-output that was previously spent. to solve the problem, verify the synchronization and remove the transaction causing the problem, either by:
Go to advanced, clear activity tab data
Restart the browser. If it is Chrome, use the about:restart option
Use the coincotrol feature and spend from inputs that are not part of the previous UTXO-output.

There are already people who have complained and I think you have asked a question for the same problem, so wait for the team’s response if above steps above do not solve your problem https://github.com/unisat-wallet/extension/issues/154
176  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wallet Option on: March 10, 2024, 02:22:24 AM
But he can still import the BIP32 key encoded as a WIF into Electrum, right?
In bitcoincore, use needs dumpprivkey command to get your private key. After extracting the private key, can create a new wallet in Electrum, verify signature, then Wallet, Private Keys, Sweep. After that, create a new wallet, write the seed and keep it.

WIF is standardized method of of encoding a private key and since electrum accepts the private key, there is no need for this.
177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Google Authenticator needed for Electrum BTC wallet - App stopped working on: March 10, 2024, 01:54:36 AM
In any case, if you have not touched your wallet for 7 years, it will not sync If your electrum version is older than V3.0.5, you will need to update the wallet.

Keep your old phone working without touching it, download the wallet to a new phone, verify the signature, and since the Google Authenticator setup was at the software level (meaning your wallet is not Electrum 2fa with TrustedCoin (2-of-3 multi-sig)), then you can easliy recovering your wallet via the seed.

In new wallet click on Create / Restore a wallet, give it a name, enter your seed and will store your funds.
178  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's the point of registering on a CEX if you don't trade? on: March 09, 2024, 02:23:20 AM
Hello,

Now that there are quite a few solutions for buying or staking cryptos, I was wondering what's the point of going through a CEX when you're not trading. I'm sure there are things I don't know, but I'd love to know all the things that are, perhaps, super interesting.
Trading is not the only reason to use CEX as there are some additional services that are offered.

P2P if you want to withdraw to your local currency and there are no options available.
Converting, To convert to altcoin or stable currencies and withdraw to your wallet.
Investing, investment options such as joining a mining pool, lending, or staking
NFT trading, Some NFTs are traded on centralized markets.
low market cap altcoin, Some altcoins do not have a good wallet that you can withdraw to, or you may be thinking of selling them and do not want to withdraw.
179  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Nigerian Telcos Have Blocked Nigerians access to all crypto exchange websites on: March 09, 2024, 01:57:00 AM
In such cases, your use of a VPN will be easy to detect, especially if it is not a dedicated IP VPN. after accessing exchange via VPN, contact the support team and tell them the story,  if there is no problem, log in and withdraw.
If you have a large balance, it is better to search for a dedicated IP VPN provider for a country that is not one of the banned countries, and log in to your account. Here, some services in your account may be temporarily restricted due to the change in IP, but you will definitely be able to withdraw.

If CEX decides to ban your country, there is usually a 30-day access to withdraw funds.
180  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: What needs to be improved or added to your preferred BTC Wallet? on: March 09, 2024, 01:34:02 AM
Bitcoin wiki and bitcoinops compatibility have lists of some wallet comparisons that may be useful for those who want to see the basic features.

You did not specifically mention whether you mean Android wallets or all Bitcoin wallets, but the usage is what determines what you are looking for. If you want to use it for holding Bitcoin, wallet need to support the basics such as customizing fees, open source code, coincontrol, and if you want to use it for daily payments, then support the Lightning Network. is what you will be looking for.

Mobile wallets are usually for small, daily payments, and the option to use Bitcoin is limited due to transaction fees, so better support for the Lightning Network and sidenets should be the direction of developers.

Things I miss:
Better support for L2 and sidechains.
Better support for miniscripts.
Better privacy options.
