Not quite. I mined exe early on and stopped when the diff hit 10, after that i bought as much as i could until the price hit 9000 but have been mining VTC ever since. Now that the diff is low it is again attractive to mine EXE, see? for me the difficulty drop has been a blessing. You don't believe in the coin? fine, sell and go elsewhere, as for me, i'm staying, i'm buying, i'm mining and i'm holding because i believe it can only go up.

Let the market decide, is not up to you to say if there are "too many coins"

Mind you i'm holding lots of exe and it would benefit me if rewards drop but i believe this is not the way to go.

take a look at all new altcoins on cryptsy - massive sell-off in the first days, stabilization and then growth IF there are reasons.

there will be pumps and dumps, but if the fundamentals are strong then pumps are nothing to worry about.

i think you meant dumps are nothing to worry about, but then again pumps and dumps are products of the same type of reasoning
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: January 27, 2014, 03:57:43 PM
anyway, this coin will get on cryptsy and i expect a massive dump on day 1. still a chance to buy then. Smiley

hope this will not happened
Maybe we can negotiate with miners to avoid such problems?  Smiley I think almost all of them reading this topic.

market price is THE negotiation, everything else is just market manipulation, let them sell, laissez faire

Hoe much votes do we need before it comes on cryptsy?

Man, cryptsy is no better than coinedup. In fact, i think it's worse.

The real move is Vircurex

Price is fifty percent off the highs since your very important announcement and you have an open debate on whether the miners will just fork off with a new coin and then wtf am I holding?

Shut up and implement the changes and stop talking about implementing changes.

33 last... no need to fear it's near, it's already here.

Maybe we should take another poll.

nobody is trading at coined up because it is impossible right now.. or almost like whole day..
hope VTC does it soon to better exchange

True, my BTC deposit address just appeared in my coinedup wallet. i've been trying to move BTC to the site but its slowness is not helping.

Anyway, the price fall is good for the people who want to buy into the coin, i mean the people that are willing to put their money where their mouth is. You weak hands miners and crash whiners are not forced to sell at these prices, you sell and complain because you do NOT believe in the coin, you are here only for the short term. In that case just sell your stuff and get out

Just do not get fiat money model in the cryptocurrency!
Want many zeros?
Go to DOGE!

Awesome tolerance! pretty arbitrary, don't you think? you could agree to disagree.

We do NOT have to reinvent the wheel buddy, we take what's good and keep it and we dispose of what's wrong

I am holding DOGE BTW,

Cheers!

Well, yes, inflation is the rate at which the money supply grows, rather than (as people often wrongly assume) a rise in prices, it's really a dilution of purchasing power. You can create units of account at will (at least in fiat money systems), but you can't create value so easily.

Good, that one is a gem. Now merge money supply with creation of value, and you are left with...yes, inflation is the rate at which the money supply grows in relation to the creation of value. In other words, quoting Ludwig Von Mises In theoretical investigation there is only one meaning that can rationally be attached to the expression Inflation: an increase in the quantity of money, that is not offset by a corresponding increase in the need for money, so that a fall in the objective exchange-value of money must occur..

In my opinion there is a LOT of value to catch up to with the issuance of VTC.

As for the fairness of increasing money supply a little bit less of nothing is still nothing. Again, if long term is our goal (i include myself, i am an early adopter of VTC) market adoption and pricing would compensate greatly the dilution of existing coins.

i want this new coin to succeed. i like what you guys have done with the code

You can buy vertcoin with bitcoin in coined up mate, just deposit bitcoins in your coined up wallet then select vtc/btc in the main page and buy!

It says BTC deposit address not found

IMPORTANT NEWS

There has been feedback from users on 2 points that we wanted to address and respond to.

1. The N-Factor schedule, which some people feel is too aggressive and might unfairly squeeze out older GPUs in future as N-factor increases.

2. The difficulty adjustment algorithm, with 3.5 day difficulty retargeting, which users felt (myself included) could be vulnerable to leaving us stranded at high difficulty if a multipool merges the VTC mining patches into a mining client, then leaves the network after a period of high profitability, greatly decreasing hashrate and leaving Vertcoin stranded with long block times, leaving the core VTC miners to mine through a long unprofitable period to get back to 2.5 minute blocks.

Hard cap too low! you have received feedback for that too!!

With DOGE's success (and similar others) i think it is safe to say there is NO point in making a coin rare or scarce, what helps against inflation is not the amount of coins in circulation but the rate of minting against a given market cap. The only thing achieved with a low cap is a pricey coin which in my opinion is not good for the coin in the long term.

Please, also increase the amount of coins. We want to trade in INTEGERS, not in 8 decimal places (bitcoin) or any other amount higher than 2 decimal places.
