161  Local / Anfänger und Hilfe / Eigene kleine Website on: October 21, 2015, 01:55:30 PM
Hallo,

Smiley
Login weg, % weg, analytics rein usw.

do you think with 100th/s i would have a good chance to hit a block in 24hrs?
Roughly one chance in 28.3

puh solo mining is expensive.

168  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S3 - Discarded? on: September 17, 2015, 07:22:04 AM
My Antminer s5 produce half as much discarded shares and it mine just fine so i wouldn't worry about Discarded share stats any longer.
Just make sure your hashrate on the poolside is where it's should be at.

The poolside is really your best stat look there and make sure you are getting proper hashing speed.   And chances are the discarded really will not hurt anything like others said.

But always check poolside on rates.  I check at least once a day if not multiple.

Thank you. I already contracted Bitmain and they said if the hash rate is good, everything is fine. Even the cgminer developer said those stats are worthless. Smiley

But i have a new problem since this morning. My hash rate is now only the halve. One of my board (chain1) is down or just display "xxxx...xxxx" under basic status.
Is my board defect? Can i fix that?

I get X's all the time after a live/soft reboot, while changing config. Its not impossible that the chips all died but it seem extremely unlikely to me. Everytime i get X counts i just power cycle it and it work fine afterwards.

Do that and let us know. Make sure the pcie are plugged correctly too, etc.

Okay i try that at home. Right now its between 188 and 280...

I have one of them in each row. i i like the i points.

170  Local / Mining (Deutsch) / Antminer S3 defekt? on: September 17, 2015, 05:50:50 AM
Hallo,

Gen Antminer S3.
Hatte jemand ein ähnliches Problem?

 Huh

Sorry, stupid question from a beginner.

How long does it take to resolve the 25btc with my antminer s3?
And how do i notice i found a block?

I used 455gh for the calculation, the result at current difficulty is 6222.81 Days. If in one year the difficulty is doubled from today at that point your odds to find a single block will be 12778.01 Days

I dont mean to find a block.
I can be lucky and find one in a few hrs, did i understand that right? But then i need to resolve the block. The 25btc. How long will that take?

Well do you mean to resolve a block or not? Finding a block, resolving a block, finding a solution for a block = Your odds of finding one is on average 6222.81 days at 455gh and current difficulty.

And if that happen you will know because you will have 25+BTC in your wallet. Finding one in a few hours is absolutely possible, its just much more likely for you to not find one in your lifetime.

Okay thanks, that was what i meant.
Can you explain or sent me a site, where i can read why there are lucky blocks? Why is it lucky that i find a block in a second or never one. How is it calculated?

177  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S3 - Discarded? on: September 12, 2015, 06:51:29 PM
Where can you see your accepted/rejected shares in Eligius?

Rejected shares usually happen when your hardware and the pool are dissonant.

The most important part is your hashrate average, which should be around 440GH/s for a S3.

I see them in the s3 configuration.

like so:

But i updated the Firmware, now the discarded shares are much lower! Smiley
So is it normal or not bad to have discarded shares? I mean they are so many!

The GH/s are normal.

From what I can see in the screenshot, you are mining on Slush's pool (mining.bitcoin.cz). You should check your effective hash rate on the pool's site. I don't think it will match.

It's normal to have rejected shares, but you are right that the amount you currently have is a lot.

Yes i changed it so see if it get there less dircarded shares.
My effective GH/s are 433 GH/s on the Slush Pool.
Yes they are so many. But i stillt dont exactly know what they mean.

There are rejected shares and discarded shares. Where is the difference?

https://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMining/comments/2e2gbi/newbie_antminer_s3_discarded_question/

>> cp /etc/init.d/cgminer /etc/init.d/cgminer.old

Sind jetzt viel weniger.
Acceptet 183
Discarded 649
