161  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Minimum $$$ amount for trading? on: July 22, 2017, 06:55:19 AM
Start small to test out your strategy, research and understand how you'll react in a loss situation.  Once you get the hang of it and gain some confidence, you can always invest more.
162  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are terrorists only muslim in religion? on: July 21, 2017, 09:25:52 PM
It just depends on how the media reports on it. Muslim attacks are categorized as terrorism. American attacks when someone shoots up a school or theatre is categorized as mentally unstable. American military attacks on foreign soil is categorized as defense.

What? No, that's nonsense.

This is why we have phrases such as "Islamic extremist terrorist."

Other issues are described differently.

Words matter.

So absolutely, it's not "how the media reports on it."

What part of that is nonsense?  You have a country that goes into foreign soil with their military, kills combatants and civilians, secures resources, sells arms for profit, and when there's a retaliation it's terrorism.  This is in no defense of Muslim attacks, but understand that they are being attacked.

How would you feel if drones were sent into your country and bombs were dropped to kill your family off while they sleep?  You'd be at peace with it right?  Good man.

Can you give proof of any American shooting schoolchildren, just because in his holy book there were verses encouraging him to kill the infidels? School shootings are different from Islamist terrorist attacks. Because the reasons are different. The former mostly happen as a result of personal issues. But the later is purely religious in nature.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_school_shootings_in_the_United_States

Have fun scrolling through it.  I have no mention of a holy book.  Mass civilian deaths are mass civilian deaths.  You have a different label for them sure.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civilian_casualty_ratio

There are tens of thousands of civilian deaths by the "good guys" on foreign soil.

164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which affects the btc price on: July 21, 2017, 09:03:45 PM
I just follow btc developments this month. I see every day btc price up and down. Which is my question, what are the factors that affect the rising price of the btc? Whether shareholders btc, altcoin, or btc users themselves? Huh Huh

Supply (current bitcoin owners) and demand (people wanting to purchase bitcoin).  The supply is pretty straight forward, but the demand isn't.  There's a lot of fear, confidence and speculation which affects demand.  Since Bitcoin is not yet widely adopted as a method of payment, it's that much more volatile.
165  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Your opinion on recreational drug use on: July 21, 2017, 07:56:01 PM
I think that using of drugs is very harmful for any human being. everybody should avoid these kind of products to be healthy. so, there should not be any chance to take drug in a society or a country.

OK... In that case what is your opinion about the usage of the following drugs?

1. Methadone
2. Thienorphine
3. Hydromorphone
4. Hydrocodone
5. Eluxadoline
6. Buprenorphine

Al these drugs have harmful side-effects, but are perfectly legal in the United States. How can you justify the ban on weed, when the above drugs are readily available from any of the pharmacies?

Hey man, for instance methadone is meant for those already addicted to heroin, it's not like its for anyone to go and buy otc.

Try to keep things in perspective.

Right. Being addicted to Methadone is much better than being addicted to heroin. Especially if it encourages heroin use in people so that more of it will have to be used.

Cool
Drugs destroy people life, sadly there are to many people who wants to take them and the goberments legalized some of them to win profits, there should not be drugs like heroin on the streets.

Don't you have the right to live your life the way you see fit? Or do you think it would be better if you lived by my rules? If you don't think it's better to live by my rules, then there will be many that don't think it will be better to live by yours.

If heroin shouldn't be on the streets, then it wouldn't be there in reality. Yet you have no problem with doctors prescribing morphine right? Victim of ignorance with a strong opinion. They got you good. Say no to drugs right?
166  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is real freedom in your view? Are you getting it? on: July 21, 2017, 07:50:27 PM
Freedom is only to be reached when one is complete. One becomes all. All become one. Sounds familliar?

But that might just be a larger cage.

It does sound familiar. Surrendering to what we are.  But it all depends on how freedom is defined. We could have an entire debate on whether humans even have free will. Whether we are the authors of the next thought we have or if we are victim to involuntary thoughts and reactions.

Having more sex, i guess. I'm serious. And also being less creative

Lol you probably have a point there as porn wouldn't be accessible. Back to playboy magazines.  Cheesy
169  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Ethereum ?, on: July 21, 2017, 02:22:44 PM
Why not hold them both. I have more ethereum at the moment but I am going to look into trading a portion of them with each other and see how it goes.
170  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Kraken, do not use for trading during high-volume times on: July 21, 2017, 03:02:32 AM
Can confirm.

Problems already started 2 years ago. But it was very rare and only non-stop traders noticed it.
But with every new coin added and every new customer the problems got worse and where never fixed.
New trade engine and new API was already promised a year ago. None of the bugs, that only happend rarely before, were fixed. Now they happen every day and people are loosing money.

Don't get me wrong, I still like Kraken and will use them whenever possible. But at the moment there are not many moments were it is usable.

That's terrible.  Why do you still like it given the unreliability?  The fee structure?

It even takes forever to fund an account.  Weeks.
171  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 1 Million satoshis per day on: July 21, 2017, 02:12:07 AM
i million satoshi equally to $23 if we compare with the current price and which mean your target profit for a month is $690 but the problem is not in your basic capital because 1 bitcoin is enough to start trading and trading is unpredictable jobs although today you can get profit but tomorrow is not sure even there is possibility day after tomorrow you will be loss so my answer is not because in my view there is no steady income in trading

I won't say it easy to make BTC0,01 everyday as people could lose in trading as well.
But, some people could make more profits on the another day if lose today, so you still have chance to collect BTC0,3 per month and even more than this if your capital (BTC1) invested on potential coins, which is the hard part of trading.

It's no different than trading fiat currencies with foreign exchange or stocks except for the high volatility.  If you have a strategy that works well, and understand how to correct mistakes with a little luck on your side, then you can profit.  You will get yourself into loss positions, and how you navigate through that will likely dictate whether you'll succeed.
172  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where would you invest $100? on: July 21, 2017, 01:57:46 AM
Hi.
I've got a hundred USD which I wanna invest in some altcoin. I know this amount is nothing, but since I'm a complete noob at cryptocurrensies, I decided to begin with the small amount. So, I want to try out how everything works, at the same time I want to keep my investment safe and sound. That's why  I'm looking for some underappreciated altcoin with the bright future which will graciously accept my modest investment and bring me it back with some profit Wink
Have you heard anything about this kind of coin?
$100 is a small amount of money if you will invest it. I prefer to you to invest it in the altcoins for sure you will gain a big amount of profits. There are now many altcoins that have potential.

That easy huh?  Just throw your money into an alt coin and watch it skyrocket.  Good advice there.  Cheesy

You're starting with a small amount that you're likely okay with losing.  Whether or not you invest it, start learning how the crypto markets work, move and trend.  Then see if you want to speculate on fluctuations or if you believe in a particular alt coin.  Do your research and make a decision.  Have a plan for when you want to exit of if you want to invest long term.
173  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I'm panicking, tell me it will be OK... on: July 20, 2017, 11:06:27 PM
Panic selling is just for those people who doesn't believe on what would be the outcome of bitcoins future but for those knowledgable people around im so sure that they grab the oppurtunity of last weeks downfall. And look what happen now? they earn with that and their earning is not just cents but instead thousands of dollars, so if you still have a doubt with bitcoins then you should learn its movement so that you can figure it out on how bitcoins grow healthier.
in fact those people who do not have any experience in trading and those who do not know about the nature of bitcoin they are really panicking very soon. i think they should stay strong and wait for some time as the price of bitcoin will start increasing very soon.
No, any level of trader regardless of their knowledge and experience might be getting panic during trading hours. It will be impossible to keep your nerves down when you are watching your hard earned money is dissolving in numbers. Many traders are getting panic just hearing about bad news itself when they are having open positions.

It depends.  If you experience it enough times, you would eventually get desensitized to it and sort of adapt.  I remember losing $10k in a day, which was obviously a terrible feeling to have.  Nowadays if I lose some money, I have some disappointment in myself, but try to just not make the same mistake going forward.  And that approach has shown to improve in performance and returns over time.
174  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Altcoins are all down, so how do traders make their earnings? on: July 20, 2017, 10:42:18 PM
Im a noob and suggest other noobs to just stay the fuck away from trading if your not an expert in such bearish times. I thought i could be mr. wise guy and and make profits if i switch from btc to altcoins and so on, but i would have made much less loss if i just hodl my starting portfolio. Anyway, learned my lesson and now holding my alt- and shitcoins and hope for the best.

I haven't got into trading crypto's just yet.  I'll put money in if I believe in the future of a crypto but wasn't setup to trade until now.  I'm surprised to see the general positive sentiment on how easy it is to make money from trading alts.  I've traded stocks for years and it's definitely not easy, especially for the inexperienced in dealing with a loss position.

The crypto market is super volatile, so I'll just keep an eye on it for now.
175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of dedicated mining cards! on: July 20, 2017, 10:36:03 PM
I'm not out to tarnish anyone's reputation or support anyone else. I'm just asking has someone done the due diligence to make sure that's not the case? I believe corporations are self interested and driven by preservation just like human beings are. I don't have anything against bankers either I just don't trust them to play fair business is a dirty game that people play to win.

Are you talking specifically about GPU mining for alt coins?  There are some mining specific cards that are built on the platform of a previous GPU, but I don't think it would make sense to assume anything.

Any big bank could purchase a significant % of Bitcoin if they really wanted to.  I don't think they even care about Nvidia or AMD aside from their respective stock prices for investment purposes.
176  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Making a living from signature campaigns, is it possible? on: July 20, 2017, 10:09:11 PM
The one who actually consider earning from signature campaigns is enough for living will start posting shits to earn more so within few weeks they will be kicked out with any campaigns he/she will join. So a big NO signature campaigns are just here to give you small amount of bitcoin for your valuable post in this forum and not for passive online earning.

It's already like this, and not all signature campaigns have quality or intelligent content as a prerequisites or minimum thresholds to join.  Some do, but not all.
If a user starts posting like that they would be blacklisted by a certain campaign manager and the other campaign manager will copy the blacklisted version of the certain campaign manager to make sure that the user won't have any chance to join different campaigns.

It's possible but time consuming one account is already enough for me I can't imagine logging in and out of 10-20 accounts just to make a daily post.

Some campaigns are managed actively with criteria on quality, but as you can see by just scrolling through some of the threads here, there is a decent amount of nonsense and generic statements from people that are part of signature campaigns.
177  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gay Marriage and Adoption on: July 20, 2017, 09:59:41 PM
I cant imagine living in a place where somebody can be punished for homosexuality. Take a second to think about that, somebody can actually be punished or killed for having feelings for another man. I don't think its necessarily a choice but even if it was why would it matter? Why should anybody care who somebody loves or has feelings for? how insecure do you have to be to be afraid of gay people? Of course in the same vein they are the same people as heterosexual people and should be entitled to the same adoption rights.

Most of the people here live in places with homophobic cultures and generally uncomfortable with it.  I'd say religious brainwashing would have a lot to do with it as well.

They'd rather have children grow up in an orphanage than allow a gay couple to adopt.
178  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Impact of drinking alcohol. on: July 20, 2017, 09:21:43 PM
I genuinely think there is many good things about alcohol, helps to relax, helps to be social and can generally make a memorable evening occur. But, for me at least, I find it very hard to know when to stop drinking and things, more than not, go very downhill. So in recent times I've been completely sober alcohol wise, its been great for my money and overall happiness I think. Makes weekends a bit boring since all my friends drink. Although until I learn some better self control alcohol is out of the question for me.

You are actually having very good self control by understanding it's an issue for you and staying away from it altogether.  As long as it doesn't bring aggression out of you when you're drunk, it's not terrible, but you'll likely get hung over if you're not hydrating properly.

Maybe just change the type of drink that you're into.  If you're past downhill experiences were from liquor, maybe try switching to beer.  Much lower alcohol content for the volume, so alcohol doesn't enter the bloodstream as fast...unless you're chugging it.

Nowadays I may have a beer every now and then, or a glass of red wine with a meal.  Aside from that I don't have any interest in drinking to the point that I'm hung over the next day.

180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in College??? on: July 20, 2017, 04:47:37 PM
When I was in the university, I saw one thing that was hard to miss. That the curriculum of the study was highly dictated by the World Bank, the largest supporters of the funds and loans to the universities. Lately the universities became a bureucratic machines to make money not ideas. I would guess that its the same with the Colleges.

If the curriculum of the higher education would be in the hands of its professors, you would hear new ideas being spread more often. Its not that in todays world the professors are one of the most creative people in the world. They are not, but the bureucratic process they must pass, to be able to give lectures, makes them even less flexible.

In that kind of enviroment I would be hardly surprised to hear even the students to talk about bitcoin.

These days, with how easy it is to access information online, it's a much better resource than regulated schools. This is especially true for things that change rapidly like cryptocurrencies.

When it comes to certification for certain professions, you can't get around going to college or university even if you possess the required knowledge, it's a certificate that is legally required.

That being said, there's a course on Coursera from Princeton university on "Bitcoin and cryptocurrency technologies"  for free.
