161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling therapy on: June 21, 2024, 05:34:34 PM
We go for monthly or quarterly health routine checkups not only because we're sick but to  reduce any risk of getting sick before knowing. Right? same behavior can be applied to gambling , do you agree or it's not necessary until you start getting a gambling problem .
That is an interesting point of view. Maybe to go to therapy for preventive reasons could be a good idea, as mental health is so important in the same intensity physical health is, or at least should be for every individuals. The therapy is the right spot where you can talk about things you usually don't talk to other people, or don't feel comfortable doing so. To only start therapy when the addiction is already a reality, seems to make the problem harder to be solved. To deal with prevention is always the best approach in every cases.

Maybe many people could avoid developing addictions if they went to therapy before their problems took place and they accumulated even more traumatic events on their lives.
162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling A Hobby? on: June 20, 2024, 11:26:08 PM
Gambling can be a hobby, but when you have an addiction to gambling, it can no longer be called a hobby; instead, it is a vice that is difficult to let go of. But even so, when it becomes a habit, we should try to return to normal gambling instead of worsening our condition by becoming addicted to gambling.

Although it is not easy to do and it will take a long time, let's try as much as we can to control ourselves because, in the end, if we neglect or just let it go,
the result will not be good in the end, that's for sure.
Indeed, because hobbies are rewarding and healthy practices we do to raise our mood, relief from stress and find satisfaction, while addictions are harmful practices which lead individuals to a state of illness, infirmity and disorder. After all, gambling is just a neutral activity without a harmful or benefical intrinsic nature. It's how you use it, as a gambler, that will determine if gambling is healthy or unhealthy for you. For some people it's a fitting hobby, without further prejudices, although for others it's a curse with very serious negative consequences!

That is why self-knowledge and self-control are so important, as individuals can be conscious of what is good for them, so they should absorb it, and what is harmful for them, so they should avoid it at all costs! Unfortunatelly, these are traits poorly developed by most people in our world, as they prefer being overwhelmed by the tendencies of the world which are imposed from external forces (propagandas, media, politicians, celebrities, leaders).
163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how much do you love bitcoins? on: June 20, 2024, 11:14:39 PM
Has your love for Bitcoin surpassed your love for country? If your government threatens arrest for anyone found to still be involved in bitcoins, are you willing to go to jail even if it is just for a day?
I don't love Bitcoin, neither my country or the local government. If the government threatens Bitcoin enthusiasts, I will have to find an alternative to cope with the situation in front of me. If I'm in possession of a considerable sum of Bitcoin I may really consider leaving the country and going somewhere where Bitcoin adopters are respected and allowed to operate freely.

However, if I don't have a large amount of Bitcoins, I might have to just continue using it hidden from the government's eyes or to get rid of my holdings to invest in something else in the present moment... The thing is that I don't own any loyalty to Bitcoin, neither to the government. I'm just thankful for the existence and for being able to have access to the first, while I having disdain for the second.

If you had money that you had already planned to DCA into bitcoins and a close family member or friend with a pressing financial need comes up to you to ask you for some financial help, will you be willing to skip your DCA plans and help them? How should we react in such a situation.
That sounds like an emergency, therefore the DCA plan has to be delayed until the emergency with the family or friend is finally resolved. I believe we have to love individuals, instead of loving money, so we can use money in our favour and in favour of our beloved ones pursuing happiness, welfare and personal development.
164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does anyone here know why this happened? on: June 20, 2024, 11:03:42 PM
I had issues with USDT withdrawals only. But it was because I was choosing the wrong network to cashout my funds, so the transaction just wasnt launched by the casino, as it presented an error message. I was not used to deal with USDT, so I didn't pay attention to this detail, but thankfully the error message displayed, because it worked as a security measure, so the funds wouldn't be lost in a misleading transaction.

Always check at the receiver side where you are moving your funds to which network they demand from you to be used before launching your transaction. I don't know if that is the issue you are facing, but for the future this tip may be useful.
165  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for June on: June 20, 2024, 10:53:06 PM
The news aren't good for the month of June. The expectation is that supply of coins for sale increase in the market with recent news of Mt. Gox redistributing funds to customers and German government agency moving 425$ million in Bitcoin. These events increase fear and pessimism among investors, who immediately think about a stagnation tendency in crypto market, which has potential to crash prices to inferior levels we wouldn't like to see again during a bull run.

On the other hand, there are always key investors taking opportunity from such crashes, always buying and accumulating more sums of Bitcoin once the prices crash a little bit. It helps decreasing volatility and keeping the market relatively stable, without major crashes which could drop us to 50,000$ and 40,000$. So far, that is what is happening, and hopefully it will remain like this until we see a new pump towards 70,000$ and 80,000$.
166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Recording gambling activities on: June 20, 2024, 10:40:18 PM
Do you think keeping record of gambling activity will play a good role to someone's gambling lifestyle?
Personally, I like the idea of keeping record of gambling activity, losses and winnings. It helps you to find how much money you are losing or making from it, so you can adjust your short, medium and long term goals based on it regards your finances. To lose control over your gambling's history prevents you from managing your funds efficiently and realistically.

I think nobody wants to lose track of their money in a point they don't have a single penny on their pockets anymore, because they don't know or don't remember where it has gone... I believe to record expenses is important not only regards gambling activity, but regards every other areas of your personal life. That is how you can organize your finances, define budgets accurately, so you can have a chance to make your portfolio grow along the years.
167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: They will find someone to blame for their mistakes on: June 20, 2024, 10:27:28 PM
Some people posted that such people like the bodyguard should not be allowed to bet on the date of Election but what if he told someone to help him out and the money will be shared? Or is something like this can not be manipulated? If you know what would be the result of something, you can do one or two or more manipulation with that thing.
If that is the case, the bodyguard used someone else as a strawman to place the bet and avoid being directly played guilty by the practice of placing a bet when having access to inside information regards that specific event. That is manipulation and cheating, anyway and should be manipulated in every cases.

I think betting sites should not be allowed to include such bet. They should not just only be blaming the man. I see the betting site faults also. Why making people to bet on a result that someone set?
Yes, that is a dumb kind of event to bet on. And since it's totally vulnerable to a decision made by few individuals, it's heavily likely events like this encourage cheaters who have access to privileged informations to place bets knowing the right result beforehand. In fact, casinos don't seem to care about it at all, but it would be a good idea for gamblers to avoid betting on this kind of event.

To bet on an election's outcome is acceptable, but to bet on the day the respective election is going to take place doesn't make sense at all...
168  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling winnings should NOT be taxed on: June 19, 2024, 08:32:03 PM
Does your country tax gambling winnings and if so do you declare it yourself or does the gambling operator withhold the taxes on your behalf?
Yes. I've just seen 15% of our earnings from online bets are eaten by the government through taxes. And we have to declare all our winnings to the government yearly.

However, it gets worse when the matter is the federal lottery, as only 30% of the total sum of the lottery's money is paid to the winners. Almost 70% of the amount consists in taxes the government takes for themselves.

That is, if the amount is 100$ million, the winner is only going to receive 30,4$ million in the end. On the other hand, I must say that when the lottery announces the prize, they already announce the real prize, ignoring the portion which goes to the government's pockets.

169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: British Prime Minister bodyguard arrested for election date bet. on: June 19, 2024, 08:17:55 PM
Since the country allows betting of any kind of, why will they arrest him. They caused it like that because assuming there was no bet on when the election day will be, he might not tell anyone and keep it a secret. Since money is involved that was ahy he had to bet on the right date because he is an I spider and knows about the date. It is cheating and that is why he was arrested, he should have given someone else the date to bet for him.

I don’t see anything wrong in arresting him because that is cheating. This is more like match fixing in football where the winner of the game is already known even before the match is played. He needs to be arrested even if the country legalizes betting and no crime in doing that. He is an insider and is not suppose to place a bet on that regard because he already knows the outcome and that will kill the main aim of betting which is the probability of a certain event to take place or not. They should  not give him a severe punishment for that, but he should serve as warning to others who will want to to such when they find themselves in those shoes like this bodyguard does.
I agree with you. To allow these insiders to bet means to be unfair to all the rest of the gamblers who don't have access to secret informations. To ensure the legitimacy and transparency of gambling results and winners, cheating must be fought back, otherwise legit gamblers will feel discouraged to continue gambling, considering they are playing against cheaters.

I really don't differentiate the bodyguard's case to the cases involving athletes who prejudiced their clubs on purpose to direct determined betting results. I believe all of them should be punished severily, so other people won't feel encouraged to repeat the same steps futurely.
170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever won any significant amount from free spins? on: June 19, 2024, 03:00:06 PM
No, I have never won anything substantial from free spins offered by virtual casinos. Such spins have always rewarded me small sums of money, or nothing at all. For that reason, I don't give too much importance to free spins anymore. I believe they are really good and exciting for newbies, but after a while you get bored of them, due to the time consumed and low or inexistent rewards in counterpart.

That is not a surprise, though. Free spins' feature is expected to work just like a propaganda for the house, so gamblers feel encouraged to play at a determined website, since they have some free chances of making profit. If these spins were heavily profitable, I fear casinos wouldn't be able to afford giving them to players too often.
171  Other / Politics & Society / Re: money buy happines only if you are a female on: June 18, 2024, 10:29:41 PM
real men always seek something beyond the material level, the smart ones are seeking knowledge, the strong one are seeking stronger body, the psychos are seeking to do what ever please them.
We live in a material world, and material goods are needed so we can achieve our goals, despite the kind of man we are.

The smart ones need money to have access to superior sources of knowledge such as technologies, high level educational institutions, content and even to have access to other smart people they can interact. Without money, their potential will be limited.

The strong ones need money to have access to high quality food and suplements (which are quite expensive), besides needing a long spare time, so they can dedicate themselves to bodybuilding. Someone without a penny on his pockets will have difficult balancing his time between work and training.

About the psychos, I don't really know, because I don't see any meaningful purpose of life on those people. They seem confused and lost, so even money might not be enough to boost their desire and will for completing deeds, improving themselves and seeking happiness.

Money exclusively doesn't buy happiness in any cases, even for female. I think you have the wrong perception about those females being happy due to having money. Genuine and sensible happiness can't be misunderstood by euphoria.

And maybe you are aiming on the wrong kind of woman as well...
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How it everyone feeling during this altcoin crash? on: June 18, 2024, 10:06:42 PM
When will this crash stop? and how is everyone feeling?
Altcoins follow Bitcoin fluctuations. So you can expect altcoins to start increasing in price once Bitcoin does. The problem is that Bitcoin is stucked between 65,000$ and 71,000$. Always it gains value, the market immediately crashes it to the 60,000$'s again.

However, I believe it's just temporary. Bitcoin just needs to break the resistance line at 72,000$ to reach new ATHs, and as consequence, your altcoins will too. So that is what you should be looking and waiting for!

Usually the last months of the year are more productive for crypto market during bullish seasons. From September or October on things may start looking more interesting for us...
173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are cold wallets safer than online exchanges? on: June 18, 2024, 07:18:22 PM
Of course, both have their pros and cons, but we need to evaluate whether the benefits we get from storing bitcoin on centralized exchanges are worth the trade-off. I mean, with services like staking, lending...as you mentioned, and how much percentage will we get from that each month? 1% or 2% per month and is that worth the trade-off because we risk losing 100% of our assets? Meanwhile, storing bitcoins in a cold wallet will not generate passive income but in the long run can generate 100% or 1000% profit and your assets are also safer. Which do you think would be a better choice?
By lending your money to third party platforms you be making something between 4%-8% yearly, what gives an inferior monthly margin to 1%... Compared to the risks of losing 100% of your funds it definitely doesn't worth. It's better to keep your money safe in a cold wallet.

Since there are no guarantees when investing in such platforms, this comparison is the final proof we need to reach the accurate conclusion of which storage method should be adopted: hardware wallets.

Even the legalized businesses aren't safe to invest your funds, as we saw in 2022 the scandals involving Celsius and FTX. Regards Celsius, investors were able to recover about 33% of their funds, but it's still a big loss after all. The interest generated until the scam happened just doesn't cover the losses faced by investors.

When we choose letting our money deposited at such websites we are aware about the high risks involved, therefore we shouldn't deposit all our money there, neither amounts of money we can't afford to lose.
174  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it still possible to retire early? on: June 18, 2024, 07:06:54 PM
Choosing a path to retire is not easy, because we have to prepare carefully to live life in the future, from daily needs to monthly needs, and have to prepare for children's education needs to health costs, there are many things we have to prepare for us to take the path to retirement, because when we take the path to retirement it is not as easy as we imagine, unless we already have sufficient savings, such as sufficient investment, lots of savings, and assets that produce monthly income.
You mentioned an interesting point: children's education. And I think we can go ahead and also include family's expenses.

For an individual in a situation like that, it will be much more difficult for him to retire early, compared to a single individual who doesn't have to spend with a wife and children in a daily basis.

Therefore, if someone's goal in life is to retire earlier, he should think very carefully before marrying and having children, because it will indeed compromise his finances a lot for the rest of his life, or at least until these children become adults and independent.

To retire early with a whole family over your shoulders is almost impossible nowadays, unless you already have a considerable patrimony and a high paying job to supply all your needs and still allow you to save some money in the end of each month.
175  Economy / Marketplace / Re: AI related scams and their solutions on: June 17, 2024, 01:21:26 AM
We are still not prepared to deal with this category of issue in a global scale, because the current level of sophistication AIs have reached is a whole new thing never seen before. And they are still being improved in real time really fast. I remember last year all we had were AI generated static images with some flaws, but right now AI is already able to make perfect images, while almost launching perfect animated videos. Everything in 1 year or so.

Imagine how it's going to be in 1 year from now on. The tendency is that AI's content gets more and more quality, overcoming every mechanisms of detection we have available so far, especially at underdeveloped countries where mechanisms available are completely obsolete when compared to what the top notch countries and autonomous developers have to offer in technological matters.
176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are cold wallets safer than online exchanges? on: June 17, 2024, 01:08:44 AM
If you had a large amount of cryptocurrency would you prefer to keep it on an offline cold wallet or an online cryptocurrency exchange?

Both have pros and cons.
The biggest cons of having your funds inside a cold wallet, in my opinion, is the fact you aren't going to make any passive income from it. Meanwhile, at exchanges and similars, it's possible to make some extra income besides Bitcoin's positive fluctuations in price, through the interest these services pay to you for the coins under their custody.

On the other hand, the cons of having your coins at third party platforms is the lack of guarantees and safety over your money. Although they pay an interest rate over your coins, you are under constant risk of being scammed and having your coins stolen by hackers or by the platforms' operators themselves.

In the end, it's better to just stick your money to a cold wallet, as it's safer, and even though you aren't making interest from it, you are assured your money isn't going to disappear due to you being hacked or scammed.
177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you set a specific bankroll before gambling or not? on: June 17, 2024, 12:58:52 AM
So I'm curious: do bettors here really set up a bankroll first before they start gambling, or do they just gamble whenever they have available money?
I always define a limited bankroll size before starting my gambling session, because that is the most essential guideline you have to follow when gambling. Without following this rule, it's not going to take a long time until you find yourself in a big mess... When you set up a bankroll, you are actually calculating how much money you can afford to lose gambling, and how much money is going to remain for another activities of your routine.

Then inside the gambling bankroll, you will also manage the size of the bets you are going to place and for how long you wish this bankroll to last, more or less. If you do this successfully, you aren't going to lose control over your funds on long run, consequently not becoming a degenerated gambler.
178  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could 72K USD be the peak for this bull run? on: June 16, 2024, 05:13:31 PM
Most predictions claim Bitcoin is still going to reach higher price levels this bull run than we have already seen. Some claim Bitcoin is going to hit 80,000$ and 90,000$ on the medium term, while others say Bitcoin is going to hit 100,000$ and 150,000$ by the end of this bullish season. And it really looks like Bitcoin haven't reached the peak of the season yet.

Resistance line is too strong at 72,000$, and that is why you think it could be the peak of the season, although you should also keep in mind that the bull run can last until 2025, so there is a lot to come yet... The advantage of Bitcoin so far is that even though the price isn't able to cross the resistance line mentioned above, support line isn't too bad too, as the price remains stable above 66,000$ level. Things would be bad for investors if we were heading back to 50,000$ or 40,000$ once again.

I believe the final months of the year will be better for Bitcoin, probably from September or October on.
179  Economy / Economics / Re: Your own people family best friends and loyal supportive people are true wealth on: June 16, 2024, 04:59:49 PM
I agree family, friends and supportive people are very important to compose a healthy and functional environment around your self. However, someone shouldn't stop there as it was already enough... It's good and it's important, without any doubts, but you still need money to enjoy and proportionate these people memorable and rewarding moments together. If you don't have money, you can be together to the ones you love, but you will be together in misery and precariousness. Realistically, it's not good after all to suffer everyone together.

Sometimes we face harsh moments in life, where material wealth leaves us, and our bonds are put under test, so we can really know who is by our side. However, such moments can't become irreversible and infinite. We have to overcome them and find means to thrive once again. It's not wrong to pursue material gains in this world, since it's done ethically.

It's actually, part of the process of working and being rewarded for your efforts, so it's a natural and expected process everyone should seek. What doesn't mean, at same time, that you have to choose between the wealth of your relationships or the material wealth, as both as desirable and are supposed to work very well together, bringing even more happiness in the end.
180  Economy / Gambling / Re: Crypto casino without investment on: June 16, 2024, 04:48:03 PM
Hello, what do you think - it is possible to open a crypto casino without any investments. I'm not including domain and hosting costs here, but I'm mainly talking about payout costs. Alternatively, if not a crypto casino, then faucet, something like freebitcoin but without a casino, just faucet.
It's not possible. If you are going to start a service like that without an investment (or bankroll), you are inevitably going to scam your customers once they start making profit and attempt to withdraw money from your platform. Every casinos need a large bankroll to start operating, because on short run the business can be unprofitable for the house, in case gamblers hit some nice unexpected jackpots. Then you have to have money to afford the casino's losses for days, weeks or even months until the scenario finally changes in your favour.

As a casino bankroll investor in the past, I've already faced this situation. Sometimes my portfolio remained in loss for several weeks, until I finally saw a sudden turnaround from loss to profit, due to a gambler or another losing huge sums of money instantly. That is when the casino makes profit. By there, you should be prepared to keep paying the winners, while swallowing the losses.
