167  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 5970 users - Avg Mhash/s on: March 17, 2011, 01:06:49 AM
I get over 9000 Mhash/s
168  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Flash Player under a 5970 lowers core MHZ and hash speed. on: March 17, 2011, 01:06:17 AM
Flash 10 now uses gpu accelration so you can't watch youtube while mining because it will interfere with your miner and lower your mhash/s
169  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Comparing three 5870 cards on: March 06, 2011, 05:02:51 AM
Go for the MSI cards, they have dual cooling fans which helps to keep your card cool when its gonna be on 24/7. MSI has good warranty too.
170  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: New pool with proportional and pay-per-share reward distribution, ~30 Gh/s on: March 03, 2011, 05:07:53 PM
Props on the pool @Tycho. Very efficient! I have gotten the best results here so far Smiley highest BTC out of all the pools.
171  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 5870 just delivered, any tips? on: March 03, 2011, 03:20:05 PM
Tip: be careful with overclocking. I ran my 5770 at 975 MHz for a week (up from 850) and everything seemed to be fine. The GPU temperature never went above 90 degrees C, which I think is OK. (I'm a GPU n00b since I'm not a gamer.)

However, after shutting down my computer for a few hours yesterday, I'm now getting garbage pixels on the screen, and random "verification failed" errors when mining, at all clock speeds. Looks like I damaged the card. Sad

Yeah that is a high overclock, you kind have to expect your card to burn up without additional cooling. Im running my 5870 at 900 up from 850. I manually set the fan to 40% and the card hasn't went about 67 degrees. Now that is a good overclock.
172  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Cooperative mining (90Ghash/s) on: March 03, 2011, 03:17:59 PM
An Intel Q6600 should be getting a LOT more than 4,100KHash/sec if you are using the SSE2 CPU Miner.

Edit: One of my laptops with a Core2 Duo 2.2ghz is getting ~4,700KHash/sec.

Edit2: I just tried the SSE2 CPU Miner on my Core2 Quad 2.66Ghz and get ~12,300KHash/sec. (I normally run poclbm on this machine with an nVidia GTX 280 at ~50,000KHash/sec)

Lol we are running practically the same system. Which miner do you use to get that high of a output?
173  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: New pool with proportional and pay-per-share reward distribution, ~30 Gh/s on: March 03, 2011, 06:26:02 AM
Gonna be switching over to this pool from Bitpenny. The extra 7% makes a big difference for me.
174  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 5870 just delivered, any tips? on: March 03, 2011, 12:00:36 AM
Oh yeah I ment 320Mhashes. I overclocked the GPU to 900 and now im pulling in 340Mhashes. This is a surprisingly strong card.
175  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 5870 just delivered, any tips? on: March 02, 2011, 11:38:19 PM
Just installed my new shiny 2GB 5870 Cheesy Cheesy. Got the latest drivers and everything. So far I love the card. A lot quieter than my GTX 285. Default I was running 290 khashes but with humbles extra paramaters i went up to 320 khashes!! awesome! This card is really quiet. The temps and fan are really low so Im assuming theres room for some overclocking Smiley

Are you solo mining? whats your average khash?
177  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 5870 just delivered, any tips? on: March 01, 2011, 07:28:29 PM
Did you get the one of newegg? The 2GB eye-finity sapphire card?
178  Bitcoin / Mining / mhash threshold for solo mining on: March 01, 2011, 02:07:56 AM
Is there a a magic number for solo mining? Aka lets say your mining at 2,000 Mhashes. Would it be be more profitable doing it solo than in a pool since you have a higher chance of finding a block?
179  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Instant-Payout Mining - BitPenny.com on: March 01, 2011, 01:23:28 AM

Nice! I was thinking about programming something like this myself but it looks like you beat me to it.
