No, you don't need it in general. The RTX 3060 needs it.
For all other cards you don't need it.

But if you wanna control the miner with Teamviewer you need a dummy, because it uses the output signal. Without anything plugged in you will get a black screen on Teamviewer.

If the Miner has got bad luck then the calculated speed shown in the pool is below 120 MHs. But of course it‘s sometimes also higher than the actual speed. The average comes near the real speed.

I use a RTX 3090 to mine ETH.
I have got the same settings all the time and I get 122 MH/s all the time.

But this morning I consitently had over 2 shares per minute.
I restarted the system this evening and run it with the same settings. I still get 122 MH/s all the time - but I only got 0,6 - 0,8 shares per minute.

Is this something regarding my setup or is it just pure luck and I can't do anything about this?

Entweder es haben zu viele das Angebot genutzt (wovon ich gutgläubig ausgehe)
Oder sie haben gemerkt dass sie die Karten auch deutlich teurer verkaufen können und deshalb storniert.

Meine hat schon die ersten 10 Euro erarbeitet.

I set up a new computer for mining.

Do I need to install the whole CUDA package or only the driver alone?

Die 3060 macht mit dem geleakten Treiber 50 MHs.

Die 3090 sollte stabile 120 MHs machen.
Limitierender Faktor ist die Speichertemperatur. Ich habe schon welche gesehen die 127 MHs rausgeholt haben - aber mit +1500 MHz auf dem Speicher und 115 Grad... also nichts was man dauerhaft so laufen lassen sollte.

Der t-rex miner hat ja auch schon Cuda 11.1 im Namen - da kann es sicher nicht schaden.

Kannst ja dann mal berichten wie deiner so läuft.
Wenn keine Teile defekt ankommen sollte meiner Montag Abend laufen.

DHL und Amazon waren leider mal wieder zu langsam und liefern erst am Montag... kann noch nicht sagen ob es passt.

Aber wollte schon mal alles vorbereiten damit es dann direkt starten kann.

I have got a mainboard with 2 PCIe slot.
In the first (x16) slot I installed a RTX 3090.

I would like to add a second card to the other (x4) slot.

Due to the availability of 30XX cards I would like to use something like a 2080 TI as second card.


Question:
Does this affect the haspower of the first card? I mean I would maybe need two different drivers - if that's possible?

Mir geht es aber auch nicht darum damit reich zu werden. Ich bin eher von der Technik und dem Projekt angetan. Wieder ein bisschen an PC's basteln usw.

Ich war 2015 schon mal ganz gut im Game. Hatte damals 200 MHs mit einem größeren Rig.
Mal schauen wie sich ETH weiter entwickelt.

Meistens wird es sowieso zur Sucht. Man fängt mit einer Karte an... und schwups sind es 10

Habe gestern schon alles bestellt.

Bin schon wieder am Suchen für eine 2. GPU. Wenn das System vorhanden ist wäre es ja Verschwendung einen PCIe Steckplatz frei zu lassen.
