161  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN]Group Buy#9 ASICMINER Erupter USB Miner 0.32 BTC Or Less USA/INTERNATIONAL on: August 13, 2013, 12:48:57 AM
Hey SSB, I just got my order from GB8, order #1 today, thanks for getting it here quick!

One thing I noticed was that you put the Miners inside a USPS Small flat rate box, and then put an empty Small flat Rate box and some packing material inside a medium flat rate box. Isn't that expensive?? The way they are packaged individually, it would have been fine if you just shipped the Small Flat Rate box as it was packaged.

Don't mean to criticize, just hoping to help you save some money!

Is it common to have a high reject rate when using this pool? I'm getting 10%+ rejects when using the multiport.

Thanks for the feedback. I actually have a to-do on my list for the next version so that you can swipe to remove old devices (like you currently can for machines). Shouldn't be too long until I get around to that.

But if the API isn't supplying data on those devices, shouldn't the app just remove them from its list automatically?

I'm glad that this coin keeps getting noticed! It's great there is support out there again!
165  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Please help a newbie with a compiled version of cgminer (& .bat file advice) on: August 11, 2013, 02:48:29 PM
They are available at this site: http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer

But it is down right now.

I personally prefer BFGMiner which is a fork of cgminer, so a lot of the commands are interchangeable, but I prefer the interface of BFGMiner. (Plus, the download links aren't broken right now.

I noticed a little annoyance with MobileMinerApp:

When you select a Machine, and then navigate to the Devices, it lists every device that was ever connected to that machine, not just currently running devices. I moved all my ASICs to a different rig, but they still show in the devices window of the original machine. The Hashrates are properly reported though.
167  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: For Auction at Bitmit: ModMiner Quad FPGA on: August 11, 2013, 04:40:48 AM
I've taken down the auction because the device is no longer working properly, only 3 of the daughter cards are mining. If I get them all working properly, I will put the ad back up.

In the meantime, If you're interested in a semi-functional MMQ, let me know! Smiley

Thanks for your interest.

You NEED a powered hub for the Erupter on a Pi. The Pi doesn't put out enough current from the USB port for it to properly power the device.
169  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: How to use BFGMiner with a Block Erupter USB Miner on: August 11, 2013, 01:00:43 AM
Instead of --disable-gpu you can use "-G" which does the same thing, just saves characters.

Also if you use the command "-S erupter:all" instead of "-S all" it will give you some more options once the miner is running, nothing big but more might be added down the line.
170  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BFGMiner on PPC Mac on: August 11, 2013, 12:57:14 AM
You're really going to have to research this yourself. It might not even work because some of the dependencies for BFGMiner might not even be available for PowerPC architecture. What you'll need to do is download an appropriate version of the Xcode tools from Apple and then start with MacPorts(not sure if this is even available for PPC)

Is there any way for you to parse out a space like that that gets entered in the dialog? Why not disallow spaces in the server URL text box?

The pool will be down for maintenance for around an hour tomorrow night while I move some of the coin clients to a new server.  I will post here when the downtime starts.

Can you use UTC, as not all of us are in the same timezone as you. What do you mean by tomorrow night?

i0coin please! bitparking re-enabled it on the pool, people are going to need somewhere to exchange them!
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][I0C] Resurrection, memory problems and instabilitiy fixed! on: August 07, 2013, 09:11:14 PM

of course it is not a standart premine, read the whole thread.

I used terms: "preallocation" and "freemining" .

actually in this case : " [ANN][I0C] Resurrection" 66% of coins where mined BEFORE annoucement for free, so you can call it premine.

What are you talking about? This coin has been in the wild for 2 years now, many coins were mined by solo miners, merge miners, and pools. Exchanges supported this coin, the only reason it fell out of favour is because of issues in the client that was abandoned by the developers. A few individuals have decided to update and fix a stagnant project in order to make it useful again. It didn't die; people just gave up because it wasn't working for them anymore. Rather, that it was too much of a hassle for them to keep it running.

I'm not sure what "Announcement" you're talking about, this thread is definitely not the first time this coin has been talked about:

The original thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=36425.0

You're crazy if you think this coin was hidden. No one cared about it because it was frustrating to use the client due to the abandonware. It's now being actively developed again and people are starting to care again.

You say you don't have an agenda against i0coin, but your constant chirping about how it was freemined belies that statement.
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][I0C] Resurrection, memory problems and instabilitiy fixed! on: August 07, 2013, 04:30:21 PM
People seem to be getting butthurt over the fact that they can't "get in on the ground level" on this coin like most of the other new offerings on the forum.

This is just an old coin coming back, it's not intended to "scam" anyone, certain people were willing to deal with the issues of the old client, now those issues are being fixed, and released to the wider public to decide if they want to support this piece of cryptocoin history, or not.

I tweeted Cryptsy last night to see if they would support the coin again. The reply was that they would research it. Maybe an exchange onboard with the resurrection?!

It would be really nice to have a GUI...
