161  Economy / Lending / 8 Bitcoin Loan Request on: January 30, 2013, 02:40:39 AM
I'm looking to short 8 coins until I can verify my account on Mt. Gox; I haven't used the account in a while and recently discovered that you need to be 'verified' in order to use Dwolla, so now that the ID is all submitted I'm having to wait (it said up to 7 business days) to use Mt. Gox again.

I'm a 10/10 BTCjam user, the highest rating for any member.  Though I'm new to this message board, I assure you that i'm not out to scam anyone and my feedback on BTCjam vouches.

https://btcjam.com/listings/1305

I need 8 coins shorted until next Friday the 8th.  It may not take all 7 business days, in which case I'll have it paid back sooner.  I'm willing to pay 5% interest on the loan, so the final payback amount would be equivalent to BTC8.40.  I have a $350 deposit coming through Dwolla, like I said the only thing keeping me from it is damn Mt. Gox's 'verification' process.  The coins will be used to pay back current lenders, so that I can maintain my reputation.  I'm willing to show proof of ID, etc.

Thanks!

User shoopwooper is definitely a scammer.  He posted about some b.s. mining program needing funding, and then disappeared without a trace, never mentioning who he received funding from. You can probably change 'pending' to confirmed scammer.
163  Economy / Lending / Re: Where do I ask for a loan without being Talked to like I am a scammer? on: January 29, 2013, 01:23:05 AM
I understand that I haven't been here for very long. But with people like myself who have the means to prove who I am like holding my photo id up with myself in same picture
. All the documents to prove it like my taxes stub and tons of mail to my same address. Why would people take It upon them self's to make someone feel like this.
I think that a lot of people have a lot of bitcoins that made them money over short period of time.  Has made them think that they have everybody's trying to leech off them
 because That's what has probably
happened when they sold most of if not all there bitcoins with a profit. just to see that if they would have held out and not been wanting to show off to friends and family. "prove themselves worthy" syndrome as I call it.
Then they wouldn't have had to Rebuy or Re mine all those coin they had and kick them selfs in the ass for spending.   Having taken such a loss they became Very bitter People.
I am just a new person like your self, was less then 2years ago. I know that it is difficult to think couldof, wouldof, shouldof type thoughts but look at it like this.  A thing truly still in infancy its not yet gone mainsteam , yet many of you think it has because of seeing it grow so fast.
The reality of it is you can still buy a full bitcoin for less than 20$ . In the future this will probably be the cost of some ppls homes. So your still in the game.

Just think like I do there are 21million btc going to be mined , how many people live on this world alot more than that . So 21million is going to have to be split a lot of times to make enough for whole world.
I see this like I see the 1849 gold rush happening  all over just in different way. I believe that they will refer to us as The bitminer era,the time when people started counting on the other side of the zero.

So this being said I have respect for you, as everyone should have respect for their fellow man or woman. I understand that there a a lot of scammers and hate how cutthroat money can make people... they will get taught a lesson remember easy come go and they will have nothing to show for all the work they put in screwing people.
Please don't make everyone feel like this because it makes people not like you and want to steal your stuff. Just take and talk with us. the people who are willing to Send what you need to verify identity should be taken seriously. If you take your self seriously as a lender.
Remember you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. So don't push people away or soon people will not take your money as having value. The more people that use it the more your money will grow in value so don't be to selfish or your bitcoins will have little or no-value. Then you will have been doing this all for nothing and have a bunch of out dated computers for your self that are worth nothing compared to what you paid for them.

Please Help me help you. I can help you a lot. I am very good person to have on your side.

Thanks for lending of your mind for a second,

Hardup

If you can help plz do and I will return the favor.

BTCjam is the way to go.  If you submit all (or at least some) of the identification in order to bolster your reputation, you're highly likely to get loans from which you can improve your reputation.  I've only been a member for a few weeks but submitted all IDs and have a 10/10 rep rating.  If you're serious about P2P lending then BTCjam is a brilliant way to get started.

Been using Bitcoin for a while now... and yet I just stumbled across the largest Bitcoin forum on the net.  Proponent of BTCjam and the benefits of P2P lending.

Why can't we drop the requirements to 2 hours... same effect essentially.

Does anyone have any experience with Yubikeys?  I've been thinking about buying one but i'm not even entirely sure it's worth the money when I could just encrypt the wallet.
168  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin over $15, what does it mean for you? on: January 19, 2013, 05:53:34 PM
personally it makes me anxious because i'd like to be very heavily invested in bitcoins, but don't have any spare fiat to pump into it yet.

if i had a spare $500k, that's about how much i'd be willing to dump in at this point.

That's a pretty ballsy move...

Sure, Bitcoin is promising as a method of exchange over the internet, but because it's unregulated it can be hard to anticipate major news.
