Its a HP DPS1200 (1000W@120V, 1200W@240V) PSU. (It's not the platinum one). But its still running fine on all the other cards.

Maybe i'll buy a new one just to be sure.

Followed on twitter, going to mine tonight at launch can't wait.

I guess I did have my cards undervolted when I went to undervolt them again yesterday they were already set. They were set to -12 in afterburner.

Tried it on a cheap old MB again and same thing happened, a puff of smoke from the front part of gpu and computer immediately shuts off. Guess it happens just weird I haven't read about it happening to anyone else yet.

You guys think it was the cards fault right? Should I change my breakoutboard or server power supply? HP commonslot 1200 watt powersupply with gekkoscience bb. Had a 7 card rig going with 4 470s, 1 370, 1 380, and a 1070.

I think I'll start the RMA process this weekend.

Single 1070 running for the last 12 hrs got 1 block. Not impossible to mine to with one card still.

Anyone notice the AMD references that are finding blocks? You think they're just messing with us?

When I got home today my rig was off. Tried to power back on and smoke came out of one of my MSI 470 4GB. Had a modded bios but didnt touch the voltage. Been running for about a month.

Prolly shouldn't of tried to power again, and same gpu gave a puff of smoke right near the front of the gpu.

Anyway to get a gpu to post to switch the bios back for an RMA? Open to suggestions. GPU was being powered by a server psu and breakout board.

if spark and smoke starts to come out of the GC .. there is basically no way for them to powered it up for testing to acknowledge that you have used a custom bios. Just send it in for warranty.

Can they tell its a modded bios though? Will they still honor it?

My fault didn't read your whole message.

Here's what has been developed so far for anyone interested:

Credit goes to Vorksholk

And here's a guide for porting cuda applications to opencl (not sure if this will be any help)

Are we posting vanity accounts here too now?

Got a binary palindrome account:

101101-53

Well, almost a palindrome.

Use the one that came with the miner

Found a block with a 1070 I threw at this.

Hashrate around 120MH

So, my goals are:
1. Make sure this GPU miner doesn't harm PascalCoin
2. Get a bit of profit from making this
3. After a while, have the GPU miner completely open-source

So I have two options which I think reasonably represent both of those goals:

1. Release a neutered version of the miner (~50% performance or something) closed-source and continue to mine with my faster version, and then release the full version completely open-sourced after a while (10 days?)

2. Continue to mine privately for another two days, and then release the full version completely open-sourced in about 48 hours.

Do these sound reasonable to people? Any preferences?

This depends how long option one would take to produce. If its another day we might as well just wait the two days IMHO.

Does this open the door for pool mining or just GPU solo mining?
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Pascal Coin: P2P cryptocurrency without need of historical operations on: October 09, 2016, 05:58:36 PM
Vorksholk do you have a GPU miner working now? If so could you share it with the rest of us please? Smiley

Well, that's the last thing someone would do.
Check the Block explorer, Vorksholk is getting nearly ervery block in the last 2 hours.

If it's even him and he has one I would think he would share it for fairness to the community and to help promote mining of the coin and increase the value.

This. For a coin to succeed, you want 30% of the hash rate absolute maximum. Otherwise everyone else will lose interest.
