After a full day of test I'm really out of ideas  pheraps is better to look for a new motherboard ( maybe the gigabyte 990fxa-ud3 ) Get a better CPU (AMD is known to suck  ) Or, indeed, the motherboard... I give up. I've updated mobo bios, changed the cpu with a quad-core and uninstalled also the wifi usb dongle ( as 69charger suggested )... no luck. Same shitty problem. Tomorrow I'll probably change the mobo on the rig and switch to intel for the first time in 12 years  |

Try Win 7 but 64 bits and look if there is a bios update for the mobo. Disable in the bios everything not needed , com ports ..... etc.
Here I am -I've installed win 7 64bit - disabled integrated audio and serial port into bios (there's no much other to do) - disabled all useless windows service - installed lastest motherboard chipset driver, lastest nvidia driver, .net framework 4.0, lastest cudaminer (32bit) , msi afterburner - still todo: update motherboard bios The good news is that windows finally see all 4GB ddr even if I've 5 cards. The bad news is that the issue is still here, maybe there's just slight better performance but nothing more With 5 cards (3 on 16x slot and 2 on riser to 1x slot) very low hashrate ans slugginess due the heavy cpu load  With 4 cards (3 on 16x slot and 1 on riser to 1x slot) start with a slight low hashrate (850kh/s total with the card on riser only at 80kh/s ) and slowly go down to 420kh/s. Notice the same heavy cpu load on the "system interrupts" process  With 3 cards (the 3 on 16x slot) the hashrate is ok and there is almost no load on the cpu  After a full day of test I'm really out of ideas pheraps is better to look for a new motherboard ( maybe the gigabyte 990fxa-ud3 ) |

Other then that make sure you pass -H 2 in your launch config
Yep the -H 2 parameter is active an already working Just make some other test: teamviewer take indeed some cpu but is not the main issue here...I think that is something related to the 1X PCIE (bandwith? interrupt?) With 5 cards still there is no wait to have a decent hash, taskmanager was not very accurate about witch process use most cpu, but monitor resource seems to be fine. Look at the screenshot, the orange line on the graph is the "system interrupt" (there's a glitch on this screen so it's hard to read) is the process that take most of the cpu  Then with 3 cards (2 cards directly on 16x PCIE and the third one 16X slot to usb riser) the hashrate is finally ok and the "system interrupt" process don't take all the cpu  Another thing that I've noticed and baffle me: there are 2x2GB DDR onboard but with 5 cards only 1GB is available, with 4 cards only 2GB and finally all 4GB are usable with 3 cards I really don't know what to do apart thinking to change motherboard...any suggestion? |

What taskmanger says , that cudaminer is using this 100% cpu?
Aarrgh wait...I've just connected again the 2 cards with the risers to check if is cudaminer.exe taking all the cpu and now 4 cards run fine at 265kh/s and 1 (with the 1x riser) is not visible...cpu usage still to 20-30% Checked the cable and rebooted : now again with 5 cards and the awful hashrate, checked the processes...is not cudaminer.exe the cuprit but teamviewer (the rigs is headless and I'm working remotely) Just the time to return at home and I'll try with teamviewer disabled, thanks for pointing me to the right way |

I've read a good portion of this thread cannot find a solution to my problem, so sorry if you already talked about it. My setup: - 5 Gainward 750 TI - asRock 970 extreme 4 ( already tested with 4-5 ati cards ) - AM3 dual core - 4gb ddr - ali corsair 850ax - 1x powered risers with usb cable (like that one http://i01.i.aliimg.com/wsphoto/v0/988441113_1/PCI-E-PCI-E-Express-1X-to-X16-Riser-Card-1M-USB-3-0-Extender-Cable.jpg ) - windows 7 32bit - settings: -l T5x24 -C 1 -H 2 -i 0 - all PCIE slots 1x with presence mod The problem: -With 5 card running (2 on riser, 3 on the 16x slot) the hashrate is awful, about 20-40kh/s for each card. The cpu run at 100% -With 4 card running (1 on riser, 3 on the 16x slot) the hashrate is just a bit better (3cards at 110kh/s and one at 60kh/s. The cpu run about 20-30% -With 3 card running (3 on the 16x slot) the hashrate is almost fine (3 cards at 265-270kh/s) The cpu run about 70-80% Now, some people runs 5 cards with a dual core just fine (both intel and amd), it's strange to me all that cpu usage even with the -H 2 parameter enable The 1X slots seems to be the culprit, but again, still didn't found anyone with that issue...can be a problem related to the motherboard? Any suggestion is welcome!  |

@shaba si sono quelle, sulla carta si equivalgono un pò tutte quindi in teoria non dovrebbero esserci differenze @jack80 dici per entrambi i problemi? Per il riconoscimento della 5° scheda sono dimenticato di fare un test del pcie presence mod, qualcuno nel forum con la mia stessa scheda (asrock 970 extreme 4) è riuscito solo così a utilizzare tutti gli slot. (stasera provo) Riguardo al bassi valori kh/s sono perplesso, più che un problema di SO sembra cudaminer non riuscire a sfruttare al 100% le schede video...magari prima faccio una prova montando una sola scheda. Se non risolvo così downgrado a windows 7... |

Porcaccia ho installato alla veloce le 5 Gainward 750 ti ma ho un pò di problemi... -Ne vengono riconosciute solo 4, la 5 non ce verso -Non riesco ad ottenere un hashrate decente (oscilla tra i 30 e i 120 kh/s), ho fatto diversi tentativi con: autotune e config consigliate, 3 differenti versioni di cudaminer, aprire 2 sessioni di cudaminer, aprire chrome, usare l'ultima release dei driver (334.89) e la versione precedente...niente da fare, sembra che il gpu load rimanga sempre basso. Leggendo qua e la nel forum pare che a volte sia windows 8 64bit a dare rogne (sia per il numero delle schede riconosciute che per le prestazioni) però al momento sono troppo cotto per brasare windows e reinstallare il 7 , qualcuno nel frattempo può confermare? |

singer alimentatore da 300 w mi pare un pelo piccolo! non so cosa fai con un pc del genere, ma fai bene il conto di quanti kw consumi: uno per l'alimentatore, due per quanto consumi al giorno e costi che ti arrivano!
Il pc in questione è una workstation diciamo ereditata, per farci del Cad andava benone, e sinceramente finora non mi sono mai posto il problema del consumo! ok ma se tu piazzi una qualsiasi scheda, sicuramente vai sopra i 300w, per esempio la r9 290 che vuoi comprare sicuramente consuma 300w! Quindi devi cambiare alimentatore se vuoi iniziare a minare, la ram è ok se non fai troppe cose Come ti consigliavano anche gli altri per la R9 280X cambia l'alimentatore se non vuoi vedere una bella fumata dal retro del case, probabilmente quell'alimentatore non ha nemmeno le connessioni ausiliare per il pcie In alternativa se vuoi andare sul risparmio e accontentarti di qualche kh in meno forse riesci ad alimentare UNA 750 TI senza cambiare ali |

E una misurazione errata perchè il riser alimenta solo le linee a 12Volt ma I pin 8 side B, 9/10 side A sono dedicati per l'alimentazione della logica di controllo a 3.3Volt e quei pin passano per il cavo dati del riser (in questo caso il cavo usb) L'alimentazione 3.3V su pcie può assorbire 3A percui alla misurazione che ha fatto ci sono da aggiungere almeno 10Watt di consumo Mi autoquoto, l'admin del post mi ha risposto nei commenti dicendo che quei riser in particolare che ha usato montano un regolatore onboard per i 3.3V , quindi in teoria ha davvero misurato l'assorbimento corretto della scheda anche se 37W in leggero OC mi sembrano davvero pochi...appena posso faccio qualche test anchio |

Quello che mi chiedevo anch'io, per andare sul sicuro sceglierò quelle senza pci-e e le metterò sotto riser powered I 16x in teoria si , gli 1x ve lo sconsiglio perché salvo eccezioni per specifica erogano max 25W PS: dovrebbero arrivarmi oggi le prime 5 schede, non vedo l'ora di smanettare Di che marca le hai prese? Gainward, il layout e la componentistica non è stravolta rispetto al reference design, percui non mi aspetto chissà quali miracoli prestazionali, le ho prese perchè erano le più economiche che ho trovato al momento... vi farò sapere come vanno |

I need a solution for 50 with or without fans
Three of these would be pretty darn compact (2x 200mm fans): ... It's an interesting idea but only if you mine scrypt...you have stacked 5 module so in sha256 each stack is 300watt. There's no way to dissipate 600watt (2 stack) with a common 20" case fan (that fan seems the antec big boy)... they will burn like an exposed uranium rod I thought it was obvious...yes, this design is for scrypt mining only.  Well since you showed a corsair 1200W I tought you would use the modules also in dual-mode In scrypt only mode a single good 600Watt atx psu or a couple of standard industrial psu will be enough so why have all that free space on the rig? In any case I'm trying too to scretch a model rig for myself (40 modules) and I like your displacement because it's probably the best way to manage neatly the mess that 80 cables are able to create  but my fear it's really to run for mistake the modules in dual-mode... Probably all of you already know that but if you bypass the controller and want to connect all modules to a pc using the custom cpuminer all the cores will ne on and is not still yet possible disable the BTC cores...I hope for a firmware patch soon because I really would like to control the full rig remotely |
