161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin job or manual labour in crack city? on: May 25, 2017, 12:21:30 AM
While I admit I had a bit of a drinking problem in the past, I have at the very least cut back. However, after moving heavy rocks and dumping them into a truck all day long makes me sore and tired. But hey, I pretty much am only 50% experienced in website development. I have the intellectual capacity to program, but I would rather do manual labour now rather than improve my coding ability. It's good for the  body anyway.

While being slightly socially quirky is good in the sense of understanding computers, I got this new job right by crack park in my North American city. A crackhead, while acting completely normally (probably not high) came in, put a hard hat on, and asked for my coworkers bag containing his wallet with credit cards, $200CAD cash, and a one-of-a-kind sweater worth $600. Thinking he was a superior to my work (I don't know the faces at the site it's only my second day on the job).

On my break, I ran to my bank and took out the remaining of my disability cheque and gave it to my coworker.. He was very appreciative of the money, and I think I might have made a new friend.

I don't know if I get sucked into scams, sometimes working my ass off spending the day staring at a computer screen making my brain hurt coding (while smoking some weed to keep me alive), being expected to pay hosting fees for a site that is being accused of being a scam site. (I know I might have fucked on Cryptoflip.  I didn't know about PHPUnit, and I even asked the partner/client to get a real hacker better thasn me to test it. I got scammed by some Argentine guy pretending to be Canadian and he didn't send me Bitcoin. I just can't win working, Bitcoin or manual labour.

So here's my question, would you rather play with power tools, dig ditches, and do hard work all day,. but considering the amount of scams on this forum, it really is hard to win. I go to a temp;. labour agency, and I get sent out to a worksite surrounded by people who will do anything to get their fix, weather it be crack or whatever the fuck they are doing. I keep thinking I have the upper-hand with a junkie since I don't think any of the scammers on this forum are addicted tgo those kinds of drugs/ Am I wrong? Is it possible for a crackhead to use Bitcoin?

How do we know you're any good at math? If you said you were a programmer or an engineering student and you could prove it you may be in a position to want money up front. Otherwise with no escrow you won't get hired.

Why is this in the services section? Shouldn't this be in Technical Support?

How did you got the payment even without knowing what is interac?

He scammed me. Probably thought he could cash the e-transfer without even being Canadian.

He is from Argentina.

Clear scammer!

you can cancel the interac transfer if he has not cashed it it

I think he cashed it. I checked my bankl and there was no option to cancel it.

Have been in a similar situation  before.You cannot reverse the transaction ,you have to contact the bank and they would verify from the scammer if they money needs to be returned.Don't have high hopes.This things takes time and efforts.

Why did you trust a jr member without an escrow ?

Quick search on that email id linked me to following

Yeah I feel like a total idiot now.

I made a bad judgement. He dosen't even live in Canada. 100% scammer. I live in Canada. I went to my bank and they said they would do an investigation. I feel like a total idiot.

I know it's a long shot, but does anyone need a web app? I am an intermediate Laravel programmer, and I will do a project for $50. I will do all the coding.

Here are the screenshots:

Did notice this from a month ago about this user being accused of performing a scam prior to yours.
pm

He is scammer, he is scammed 17.5$ from me. Stay Away from him
Only noticed it because he was in trying to sell bitcoins to a member here who I did a paypal trade with at that time.
Or I wouldn't have known where I recognized the name before.

No I didn't notice. I should check more than just rep! I will go to the bank this morning and see if they can reverse my transaction.

But to clear it up even further.
Was the email he told you to send the etransfer to the same one that is on their profile page that I just posted from their profile page?

If it is then you have something to work with with the proved proof that the bank will be asking you to show to them to get a reverse done.
If not then what was the email address they gave you?

No, unfortunately.

The email is mishinaekichi@gmail.com. He asked me to send my ID there, but then said he didn't need it. I sent him the e-transfer to that address, but he said it was the wrong address (supposed to be for photos). He cashed it anyway and sent me no Bitcoin.
172  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SkrillexLegit on: April 27, 2017, 11:51:39 PM
You should ask this user who knows about canadian bank transfers.
You need to have a Canadian bank account and online access to accept interac payment
They should be able to reverse it if they did not know how to withdraw it and sometime the banks can do it if they can be shown solid proof the person who was sent the funds are trying to do fraudulent sort of things.

From what I have seen so far of his past deals he is doing fraud and running scams on some other members here.
I can do what I can when this has not been resolved in a day.
I am of DT2 status and can give a negative on them so to not have this happen to anyone else get caught in their scamming ways.

Because having to wait for a government check should not to be tolerated by anyone and being out of your money or bitcoin for even for few days should not be allowed to happen to anyone here.
I have seen this done within the last 30 minutes of looking into the currency exchange part of the forum and it is just sickening to be honest. Angry

I don't use online banking much so I am not familiar with how to dispute e-transfers. I will try going to my branch and tell them what happened. Thanks for the condolences.
173  Economy / Scam Accusations / SkrillexLegit on: April 27, 2017, 01:31:29 AM
So earlier today I got my direct deposit from the provincial government into my bank account and I could finally pay for my website hosting fees. Or so I thought.

Today. I sent SkrillexLegit a E-transfer (which is a system in Canada where you can send funds directly from your bank account to anyone with \a Canadian bank account) with thehope for Bitcoin in return. So far. He took my money and has sent me no Bitcoin.

I left him negative feedback, but I am not on DT and I am requesting a DT member tag him as such.

I am on a fixed income and this website I was going to pay for was my only hope of getting rich. I hope the DT members can get my money back somehow. Otherwise I am really fucked!

174  Economy / Currency exchange / Interac e-transfer on: April 26, 2017, 06:21:33 PM
I am looking for somebody who will sell me $50 USD (or 67.91 CAD) of Bitcoin via Interac e-transfer. I just got my cheque from the government today and I need the Bitcoin to pay for website hosting. Thank you!

I am opting out of this campaign for now. I spend most of my days coding and I do not have time to post on this forum without spamming. Sorry.

177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Access Bitcoin daemon from a virtual machine on: March 06, 2017, 05:36:00 PM
This is my first time trying to run the Bitcoin daemon from the command line. Initially I gave up trying to do this locally and was wairing around for myp[artner to buy a dedicated host for my server. However, I'm getting bored waiting around for him to send me the server info. I have a Mac and an Ubuntu VM. It only has 5GB of disk storage and when I tried downloading the blockchain file to the VM, the disk ran out of space.

How do I install the daemon on my Mac and access it programmatically from the VM in PHP? I'm using Bitcoin RPC to access the daemon.
178  Economy / Services / Looking for small PHP job on: March 01, 2017, 06:32:42 PM
I am the coder of a high traffic casino about to take off. The test server's URL wont be posted here, but I will send it to clients interested in my services. I am still busy with that project, and I don't want any big jobs. Basically a couple of pages or a very small app. Something that will only take me a few hours without much effort. (IE blog or guestbook, or fixing an error in your code, but no big or medium sized projects).
179  Economy / Service Discussion / Blockchain API: Insufficient funds on: February 18, 2017, 07:27:18 PM
I am making a PHP script which uses Blockchain's Node.js API. However, when I try to programmatically send BTC0.0005 to my Bitcoin Core wallet locally installed on my Mac Mini, I get the following error in my Blockchain console:

Quote
1487445233151 - error: Insufficient funds. Value Needed 0.0004BTC. Available amount 0BTC

I followed the instructions listed on the Blockchain API but I still get this error. I googled the problem involving 0 BTC in the Blockchain wallet, but I have more than enough what I'm sending. Here's the rhe relevant code:
Code:
       $guid="(removed)";
        $password="(removed)";
        $amount = "30000";
        $to = '1CSjpwvXPzRMG3ksVq7PFA2tz7PumnNNbS';

        $json_url = "http://localhost:3000/merchant/$guid/payment?password=$password&to=$to&amount=$amount&from=1qmAhtjgYKv12RMRM18t5HAPMrxM24f8t";

        $json_data = file_get_contents($json_url);

        $json_feed = json_decode($json_data);

        return var_dump($json_feed);

Thanks in advance for the help!
