161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: October 05, 2023, 06:39:41 PM
I wish I could have posted this in a more better place but since the thoughts came from gambling addiction, I thought it wise to ask this question over here and I hope we can discuss and get this straight.

Just as the tittle already ask, I really want to know if people who are successful in gambling also seen as addicts because I believe  for one to be successful in gambling or whatever they choose to do, there must be some good amount  of time and effort invested in it as well as money and we know that a successful  gambler must have invested  both time, effort and even money to make any reasonable  winning  and these also are features of an addict as there are always excessive time spent on a betting site.

Now let's be sincere, will you also classify a successful gambler as an addict?

It is very likely that someone who is successful in gambling will of course focus on his stance and have a strong optimism in order to be able to earn income from gambling, or you could say that gambling is done as a source of income.  This can be said if a person can be successful from gambling, of course the gambling he does is a profession that he pursues, either by investing in it or developing it in other ways that can make money from gambling itself.

Yes, in my opinion, if someone can be successful from gambling, most likely he is an addict, because he thinks gambling can make him money
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Low cap altcoins best for rising price? on: October 05, 2023, 06:00:50 PM
It is difficult to conduct research on Altcoins with low capitalization so that they can provide greater returns when bullish occurs, because recently many projects have not been able to continue their main goal regarding the success of the related token.  One possibility is that the coin only had good value when it was first launched and could not maintain its value, so gradually many investors abandoned it.
163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: October 05, 2023, 05:23:45 PM
Gambling responsibly isn't an advice but a necessity for anyone who wants to get involved in gambling. Gambling is one engagement that's rendered many people useless and those are the people who ended up as gambling addicts because of the fact that they chose not to gamble responsibly. Gambling responsibly will help a gambler to know when he's losing a lot of money and to quit for the day instead of trying to get everything he's already lost. It's helps regulate the emotions of gamblers thereby helping them make good use of gambling instead of going bankrupt because of gambling.

Agree with you mate Evey gamblers must have their responsibility whil playing in order to prevent losses a big amount. Gamble is fun, gamble is stress reliever once we use our extra money to play in casino.  And also gamble will helps us happy when we are at the sad story of our life . (But if we use our whole income to play in gambling then it will cause us stress . Cause if we loss we will find a way to earn another money in order to sustain your daily needs.)
On the other hand, many people are trapped in gambling because they want to be able to double the capital they spend, both beginners and professionals, of course, if they really have a hobby of gambling, it will be difficult to avoid it, they will continue to try their luck again even though they have experienced defeat.
Maybe only a few people can control themselves when they experience defeat, they will stop to avoid bigger bankruptcy.  In fact, many people use gambling as entertainment even though they are aware that in gambling there are luck and loss
164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to identify shitcoins? on: October 01, 2023, 04:03:56 PM
We have been observing similar trends in so many things namely altcoins, hype projects, memecoins, field farming and so on with more innovative names to up in the near future. The investors need to identify them early to avoid investment or if they do invest, get out early to minimise losses. Without that insight they are losing and will continue to lose coins from borderline scams like these.

I think we are at a stage where even background checks on teams and reviewing the papers is misleading and the way to be safe from scams is to not look at anything that is non-bitcoin.

Sometimes even if you already know the team behind it and they are transparent and also always have AMA with their investors, when their plan fails and they don't get enough funds to develop the project which were stated in their roadmaps, you end up wasting your money because after that all you will get is false promises from those bastards. They are not fair enough to return the money of their investors but instead, they are planning to make it seem they are cooking something that will make their project successful which is not really true at all.
Perhaps, that was a problem for many projects as they just looked promising but had no funds to continue their development making them stop and make these early investors suffer losses. This is the reason why I'd never rush and invest in new projects but rather wait for their improvement and market development just to get some assurance that they will survive. Probably, 6 months to 1 year from its launching, it was already enough time to assess the project if they really had a fortune based on their market performance and that would be the time to decide.
Agree with this, don't be too hasty in investing, do research on the development of the project in the next few months. If the project in question has a definite goal, it is likely that the team will continue to try to achieve success again.
165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and gambling which one has done you more harm on: October 01, 2023, 11:55:36 AM
The aim of both is of course related to making a profit, but Bitcoin cannot be equated with gambling even though both have risks, but the losses most often experienced by the average person definitely come from gambling, because almost none, maybe even 1 in 10 people  who became rich from gambling
166  Economy / Economics / Re: What would you do in this situation? Invest or save? on: October 01, 2023, 10:02:24 AM
If you have plans to start a dream business that requires a capital of  $20,000 and you were able to make a savings of $15,000 which obviously isn't enough to start up the business, what would be your decision or advice?

1. Invest the $15,000 into a smaller business hoping that the returns will yield the remaining $15,000 in a short period. Note that this has the potential of failing and wasting the already-saved  $15,000.

2. Keep the $15,000 while doing other work that will yield the remaining money over a long period.

Would love to see your input or a better suggestion apart from the ones I pointed out above.

N/B
This is the typical situation a friend finds himself and we are just brainstorming in what best to do.
Starting a business certainly requires a process, it cannot be denied that at the start of a business you will face failure first. This is certainly a lesson to be able to fix the points of failure that we experience.  Therefore, I am more interested in choosing the first option of starting a small business from the bottom with the hope of achieving success in the future
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins that you trust most on: October 01, 2023, 09:37:01 AM
Choosing both ETH and BNB might seem peculiar, as they both operate on their respective blockchains. The differentiating factor lies in the decentralized nature of ETH, while BNB is centralized in terms of the applied consensus method.

It's important to remember never to put all your money in one bucket. Investing in both models, in my opinion, is a reasonable approach. If one doesn't yield profits, the other model could generate income. This aligns with the general investment objective, which is to seek gains.

Both are quite popular and even relied on by many long-term traders to make profits.  Even though it has different characteristics of centralization and non-centralization, its trading volume is proven to always be in the top Altcoin ranking and no one has been able to shift its position.
168  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: September 30, 2023, 11:06:21 PM
So here the most important thing is that there is no problem if gambling is carried out among women if they can control their thoughts, are disciplined and responsible when carrying out these activities and can bear all the risks they will face from their gambling activities.[/left]
I think anyone who plays gambling must have taken all the risks when they started entering the casino. No matter male or female, when they create an account at a casino and start gambling, they must be prepared for failure.
Regarding men or women who spend more money at the casino, I think it's all the same. When you have enjoyed the game, no one can actually control or force you to stop before you feel satisfaction.
Everything would really be equal and its totally nonsense if you do pertain about on a certain gender in speaking about winning rate or chances which we know that it cant really be just that a solid
indication for you to win because chances or odds would be entirely be random and would really be depending on how lucky you are. It is really just that not shocking that the community would really be that too judgmental when it comes to different gender which if they do see you to be a women or girl and then involved with gambling activity then people around would be having that odd impression
that they shouldn't really be here.

There's no indeed difference as we do all know because it cant really be just that men are the ones who could play gambling but also women too. Its for free for everyone
and as long you do have the money to be spend then it would really be just that you do have the right on playing gambling as you like.

If we talk about how they play man and woman don't have any different cause we are all know that both of them man and women once they are in gambling they can not predict the outcome of their bet. So literally  speaking there no gender who are pro in gambling. But if we talk about addictions then there are many woman can control themselves so that we can say us that woman cactrol away from addictions while men there's a high chance of involve in addiction.
Women are more able to limit themselves when gambling, when they lose they have no ambition to get back their winnings, it could be that gambling is done by women, just for entertainment, very different from most men, many of them make the wrong move by using gambling to earn income in a short time.  So that gambling addiction is more dominantly felt by men than women
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Memecoins Vs legit Altcoins in 2023 on: September 30, 2023, 10:29:56 PM
It seems, this year will be full of memecoins. What do you think? Why memecoin launching is increasing so much in this year?

It all started with the support of an influencer who was able to boost the popularity of Memecoin itself (Doge).  Many people take advantage of situations like this to create new projects in the hope that related projects can get the same support, and many investors have high hopes that if they invest in them they can get multiple profits, because Memecoin has become a major trend at that time
170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Changed the game you gamble on? share your story. on: September 30, 2023, 10:05:23 PM
Is it the game you started playing as a gambler that you still play till now? Is there any gambler in this place who was used to playing a particular game before but never was successful winning or did not win enough and then made up their mind that it was time for a change in the game you gamble on. Which game did you change from, and what did you change to? how long did you play the game that you are deciding to stop playing because of the bad outcomes?

Some maybe change the game they play at earliest part of their gambling career but their are people choose to continue those games as one of their option. Its so boring if you stay on one game only that's why I always prefer to have multiple options since it can erase up the boredom I feel at certain times. I also usually base on the events happen since if there's good promotion happened on certain casino then I usually come their and participate or if there's a big sporting event then provably come there to bet on possible good teams that I think that have huge advantage to win.
Of course it will be boring if you stick to just one game, at least try other types of games and choose one of them to be your most favorite game of choice, especially if you are always lucky in that game.
It is likely that most gamblers will be interested in a promotion on several sites, they will try it to be able to experience the promotions provided. Of course, each gambler does not have to focus on one game to be able to feel the different sensations on each site.

There are games maybe became your favorite but for sure we will not stick with it since for sure at the end of the day we look for new taste or environment that can entertain us that's why usually we change the game and try our luck there. For sure a lot of gamblers done this and base on the discussion flow on this thread many gamblers always have multiple options of the games they play since they cannot settle for one game only since its really boring or mind twisting especially if we are not lucky on certain days. To many casino offers various games with good promotions so most provably gamblers come on those games and try to compete to win some prizes with them.
The number of new gambling sites that offer various promotions is certainly able to encourage gamblers to try to experience the sensation of the new game styles they provide, but once again it all depends on individual comfort, whether the site will become their favorite site because they always get good luck when playing on it or the reason  anything else that makes him comfortable
171  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading can ruin you on: September 30, 2023, 06:48:09 AM
Newbies are not actually supposed to trade because they lack the knowledge and skills required to trade but that's not what happening nowadays. In fact, most of these newbies suicide to enter trading because of their hunger of profits, not realizing that while trading can be the best source of massive profits, it could also be the easiest way to get you mocked in trading. Good thing OP you know your place when it comes to trading.
Most beginners might think that by trading they can make more profits in a simple way in this field, buying and selling when they make a profit.
In fact, beginners lose a lot in trading because they are impatient and don't want to wait until their profit target can be achieved.  Apart from that, many beginners are frustrated and not used to dealing with bear markets
172  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Behaviours of gamblers you dislike. on: September 30, 2023, 05:29:06 AM
one of it is the fact that some gamblers becomes furious after like multiple losses. i just think its not a must to keep playing while you are losing, you can walk away and come back and also its just two options you have and its either win or lose so when the wins are not coming yet they will keep on playing and losing. maybe because of the addiction.
Maybe that's something we often see from the bad side of gamblers who always get angry when they lose, I think we're all the same even when we win we scream incoherently like other gambling streamers, but it's like a reflex or a response that usually occurs and isn't too problematic in Some people's views, although sometimes this is the behavior of gamblers who appear to be beginners so they are not used to the conditions and losses they experience.

Old gamblers usually think this is normal, you are right in saying that we all have the choice to keep playing or leave, if you still keep losing why do you have to get angry, shout and keep playing, it sounds strange, even this kind of behavior is like a gambler who has become an addict. even I see it as unethical
Gamblers like this can certainly make the atmosphere uncomfortable for the people around them, they experience defeat by expressing their emotions by shouting, even though this is done reflexively, it certainly looks unprofessional in accepting their defeat.  Usually gamblers like this consume too much alcohol so they can't control their emotions
173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Credit card gambling fuels gambling addiction on: September 29, 2023, 03:14:28 PM
The role of the government must be to be able to create prohibitions or special regulations regarding credit cards used for gambling facilities, so that people can avoid debts that accumulate due to gambling.  This will of course have an impact on the economy which will get worse if the government allows it to drag on.

Generally, credit cards are used for shopping purposes to make it easier for users without having to spend cash, but if they are used for gambling, of course it will have a bad impact on the user and more and more people will become addicted to gambling
This will certainly make it easier for gamblers when they don't have money, they will continue to gamble in the hope of being able to cover their debts later when they win a bet and they will continue to repeat this method.
174  Economy / Economics / Re: marry rich: marry fiat rich or crypto rich, which is better? on: September 29, 2023, 11:40:32 AM

I have never agreed that material-based marriage is not a marriage but a transaction, If there is another choice then I will choose to marry someone who is commensurate with me (who loves me for who I am).

However, of the two options above, I would prefer to marry a crypto rich rather than a fiat rich because I already know how big the value of crypto assets is, especially if my future partner has a lot of bitcoins, not satoshis.

It will not last long if the marriage is based on material things, where there will be conflict later when the finances are no longer stable and the wealth previously owned will become a demand.

When I have to choose between the two, on the contrary, I prefer FIAT rich people, where the results of their wealth are real and can be developed in various other businesses and one of them will be used as an investment asset in crypto.

176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest in new projects. on: September 28, 2023, 12:47:54 PM
Investing in new projects were of high risk than investing on a known project. The top altcoins on the market gives the increased chance of profiting whereas we don't know what happens with the new projects. This can reach big or it could drop down in no time. For this reason most of the time people never suggest to invest on new projects. Even if someone wants to invest, it is good to go with the amount what one can afford to loss.
Well, choosing to invest in a new project does have a big risk, but by choosing the right project, the potential profits can be very large. it's just that, as you say, we need to use money that doesn't even change our lives when it's gone. However, choosing the right project is not easy, we may not even be able to get it when we have done in-depth research on the project.
Everything that has a big risk will get fantastic value, as will every investment in a new crypto project. I agree with you that if possible, you really want to invest in new projects using funds that are separate from personal needs that have already been met [unused money], so that if any losses occur, they will not have an impact on daily life. But it is not very easy to determine whether a project will be profitable because every new project will prepare everything so that it looks good. However, this cannot determine that everything that is well designed will be guaranteed to be successful, so it is not wrong to do research before deciding to invest the funds, even though once again you cannot be sure that it will be successful.Always be prepared that funds placed in a new project may be lost and not returned.
Many people invest in new projects, of course, to be able to gain multiple profits in a short time, most new projects fail and cannot achieve their goals.  In fact, most of the goals of related projects are simply to attract more investors with the aim of gaining unilateral profits.
Even though the funds spent to invest in new projects are outside of our daily needs, we must always be aware of all the risks and make the investment we make just to try our luck.
177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Education. on: September 28, 2023, 11:13:25 AM
There will be a negative impact if gambling education is implemented to be taught in schools, students will certainly feel curious to get involved in it, because many people think that gambling is for entertainment and pleasure.  Apart from that, there will be more teenagers at an early age who will get involved in gambling, because their curiosity is still higher and they cannot control themselves and this will of course be a bad effect if gambling education is implemented.
178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: September 28, 2023, 08:02:03 AM
i dont think you can force people to quit gambling , its a personal decision and not even for people who are having fun playing . how do you quit having fun ? maybe for you you got addicted and things didnt work out so you had to stop. if you have tips on how the addicted can quit i think you should post it here. i dont think anyone will want to click on that link.

Well, whether it is a personal decision or not mostly depends on the context each one of us has and is living through.
For example, someone who is independent and has a job can certainly decide what to do with their money. On the other hand if we are talking about a young person living with their religious parents in a also religious country and community, I would not be about his choice to quite gambling or not.

We could argue that eventually an addict would do anything in their power to gamble, but I personally think that depends on the stage that person would be.

In terms of influence that's affect how the person will act with how they treat their gambling participation, I like what you said about the people that surround the person who might be prone to being addicted, the chance not to fall that hard or engage that much is possible though like what you said it will be depend from how the person will take it. But again, if that person is being surrounded by people who are not a fan of this activity, his chance to bring himself into addiction might not be that far.
If a person is busy with other activities with a group of people around him, of course this can affect his activities, he will certainly be able to avoid gambling addiction.
However, if he rarely socializes with other people, of course, the habit of gambling will be difficult for him to avoid, and nothing can influence him except his own awareness to decide when to stop forever.

180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Possible measures to stop online gambling addiction. on: September 05, 2023, 05:20:19 PM

I am of the opinion that since gambling sites are mostly online and some has adds that pops up as advert on visited site, one should be able to disable or change their browser settings  by blocking casino adds and as well disabling  gambling sites on their browser settings so as not to gain access to it anymore till the number of days they deem fit to their resolve. This was just a little tip I gave as a possible solution. I had to put it up here for further discussions so that the bigger community can see it as  well.

If you feel or think here is not the right place for this you can say it. I am open to corrections as we all are here to learn.

Some people may agree with you to block all ads in the browser they use, but for people who are truly addicted to gambling, of course, they already have their own favorite sites.
When boredom appears in the free time they have, it is possible in their minds that they will try gambling again and try to find capital from anywhere to try their luck.
