161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So, how bad are the issues with the Ethereum blockchain on: June 21, 2017, 11:11:17 AM
Status was the worst by far but the network gets congested on every single medium sized and up ICO. As ICOs get more popular the problem is only going to get worse.

This is however a major problem because not only does it affect the people trying to invest in the ICO but it affects everyone else trying to use the network. Projects are going to have to design their ICOs better until ethereum is more capable of handling more transactions.
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Blockchain Congestion! Price crash incoming on: June 20, 2017, 06:52:56 PM
The latest debacle with the Eth network is the Status ICO crowdsale. It seems to have congested the ETH blockchain and now transactions are stuck in queue. Price just dropped 15% on polo and it seems to keep going down.

Looks like we just got our first glimpse at Eth's major problem - IT DOES NOT SCALE!

So what happens when all these apps start getting used? simple answer is Eth grinds to a halt. All of this money invested in a broken product.

About the scaling I believe this is why they want to switch over to proof of stake eventually. But I think you are correct at least in the short term the problems in the ethereum blockchain are going to continue for a while.
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bittrex problem on: June 20, 2017, 06:49:05 PM
Hey guys, thanks all of you for your replies,

It has been around 5 hours since the transfer and still in bittext there's only 22/36 confirmations even though there are 1046 block confirmations in the blockchain. That's why I'm worried.

On bittrex my wallet has this notification "Wallet offline - Blockchain congestion detected". I guess I only have to wait, I hope it doesn't take much more time.

Due to the Status ICO there has been problems in the Ethereum network thats why all their ETH based wallets are offline.

You already have many confirmations though so I would suggest getting in touch with Bittrex support about it and please let us know what happens in the end.
164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] SKINCOIN - CRYPTOCURRENCY FOR eSPORTS INDUSTRY on: June 20, 2017, 04:45:01 PM
I'm very excited to see this ICO launch, not least because I've participated in the signature campaign but I'm also curious to see if this can indeed become a viable business model. I'll admit I have some reservations about the idea of trading skins but I do believe 100% in merging blockchain based technology with gaming.
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is ETH? on: June 20, 2017, 12:33:16 PM
ETH is similar to bitcoin you only own the currency which has a speculative value just like bitcoin (or for example gold). The high value of ETH however has more driving it than just being a currency which is in my opinion driven primarily by its token trade.

People need ETH to buy into ICOs and to pay for gas whenever they trade tokens. Buying in to ICOs is a one time thing per project (even though there are new projects all the time), but the transaction fees required for every trade is ongoing.

166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC doing as much volume as BTC right now on: June 20, 2017, 12:30:28 PM
High volume just means that its a speculative time, it got a big price boost so there was more trade. Generally though if the volume is higher but the marketcap lower it means people are trading and speculating rather than looking at the underlying value behind it.

Bitcoin has a lot of long term hodlers that don't trade.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Decred coin on: June 20, 2017, 12:27:13 PM
Hello there. Most price increase in crypto is due to speculation. Speculation is another word for investors' calculations, estimations and expectations.
So 'speculation' is not a bad word --- it just means what investors anticipate for the future. I think in this case, the speculation is good...
If you think about it, Decred solves Bitcoin's main problem through its implementation of hard fork voting.
The price increase from $30 to $40 is nothing I think, compared to what's coming for DCR

I haven't really followed decred so well but what else are they intending to implement that would boost the price further?

The problem with speculation is its usually based on peoples expectation for the future and that leads to volatility whenever projects under or over deliver. I've always been on the fence with decred because I feel people are pricing in more than they can really give.
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: switching from btc to alts? Can altcoins sustain upward trend? on: June 19, 2017, 09:10:55 AM
The altcoin total market cannot sustain this upward trend but individual altcoins with great promise can. At the end of the day altcoin investment is high risk for high reward. When the big crash comes most altcoins will suffer greatly and only a select few with steam on ahead.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] SONM: Supercomputer Organized by Network Mining on: June 19, 2017, 05:47:25 AM
Wow. All tokens are sold out during 2 days and this project was very successful . Congratulations to SONM project and TEAM.
This is a very big sale for this this project and it has proved this potential and attraction of this coin.
I'm waiting for this SONM listed on the bittrex and poloniex soon.

Bittrex seems to add everything lately but is there any news on whether poloniex will add this? That would give it quite the boost...
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buy LTC now to avoid missing out on: June 19, 2017, 04:53:09 AM
Only fools do not realize the benefits and future of litecoin. I have bought a lot of litecoin when the price was 0.01 and now it is a good time to sell them for profit so that I can collect more litecoin with the cheap price. But, I still hold my litecoin because litecoin should worth more than $100. Go Chickun

What exactly is the benefit of litecoin? I still see it as just a weaker version of bitcoin. People keep saying it is cheap but all I see is the fact that its already had its major pump based solely on one dev joining them full time and segwit activation. What happens when bitcoin activates segwit, does litecoin die?
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ethereum a pump and dump? on: June 19, 2017, 04:51:29 AM
because smart contracts is the only thing that it offers and unlike bitcoin it is not really a unique thing to use, there are other platforms that does the same thing even better!!
and also the business world that you are talking about will never use ethereum, they only get in, watch and learn, then go implement their own thing to have extra security and don't worry about the 72 million ETH token premine thing...

Almost all altcoins can do what bitcoin does but better yet bitcoin is still on top. Why? Because it is the first cryptocurrency on the market. The same can be said of Ethereum, smart contracts can be done by other coins yes but Ethereum has first mover advantage. As for the premine it was never hidden from the public.
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bancor | Protocol for Smart-tokens, solving the liquidity problem on: June 14, 2017, 04:14:28 PM
Both of you whine because your participant day is not even full one week. And you say im shiil wtsoeva. Lol

I did more then there minimum required post for a week of participation

Prove it.

Click my profile and see I made over 8 posts before bounty end, its not rocket science.

Its the same for me. Anyway I've vented my frustration at this fiasco of an ICO and scam of a bounty program. I just hope the price is high once it hits exchanges now so I can still make some profit out of this.
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bancor | Protocol for Smart-tokens, solving the liquidity problem on: June 14, 2017, 04:07:20 PM

P.S. We appreciate the work done by those who can legitimately claim bounties, but to come here whining about BS is certainly not appreciated.

We have legitimate claims but instead we get shit on.

Yeah I don't get why people keep defending their BS, first it was the ICO and now its the bounty program. People are getting screwed left, right and center. I'm done with this thread but bancor has left a horrible taste in my mouth.
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bancor | Protocol for Smart-tokens, solving the liquidity problem on: June 14, 2017, 03:57:21 PM
Just stop it, you look so desperate begging for some token.
You participate not even one week.

Im bought BNT in ico and i dont care the bounty because its not even one week for me to get paid.

In logic its good for them to stop the bounty program because people will just spam/publish shit stuff just to get their share after this bounty hunter know how much this ico collected already, the % bounty will be huge.

I bought BNT in the ICO too despite the fiasco of it. All I'm asking for is fairness, it seems you do not wish for fairness but instead to insult me as a desperate whiner.

The facts are very clear they have selectively chosen what terms to follow, have made unclear terms from the start and have been open to changing them when it suits them. I guess you are one of those who doesn't believe in projects needing accountability.

I will repeat again because i want you to understand,

the terms n co.
-they pay weekly, not daily
-program end when ico end or 30th june which ever that come first.
-manager wont know if the ico gonna end right at 12th june. Thats why he accept people that register before 12th

Just go back and read comment by manager on the comment section during your participant sign up.
And participant of bounty should know when the ico will finish. Its been written in front page of every bounty program since first day. You cant blame them for that.

You have no solid ground for your allegation, just some fud.and whine

I understand what you are saying but again you have interpreted their wording incorrectly as stated. It says paid weekly and minimum participation is a week and I contributed more than a weeks worth of posts, ie I should get what is owed to me.

It is not rocket science. Did you contribute for a full week? If not, then FUCK OFF. We're tired of your whiny ass!

Yes I did I made much more than their minimum requirement of posts for a week.

I'm very disappointed that I got scammed on the signature bounty, if they weren't going to pay for my participation they should have never accepted me into the program. I made the number of posts they required and they are refusing to honor the bounty on a technicality. Say what you want about the terms this is not right.
Well scam by definition does not fit here.
You have been told and agree(even if you didnt read) to the terms n co when you participate.
Thats not scam.
Its just a bad bounty program model.

Well you know the terms n co.
-they pay weekly, not daily
-program end when ico end or 30th june which ever that come first.
-manager wont know if the ico gonna end right at 12th june. Thats why he accept people that register before 12th
Owh you didnot understand.

The others that get paid after ico over.12th june. They completed their 1 week cycle and get paid automatically.

You need to completed whole 1 week to get paid.
This meant that in order to get paid, because they pay weekly not daily.
You need to participate before 5th june.

And here i would like to stress again.
The manager accept participant after 5th june because he did not know the ico gonna end on 12th, he does not have crystal ball.

They pay weekly but nowhere does it say I won't get paid anything after signing up, I signed up on June 7th so they should pay me June 14th I am happy to get paid on this date if you take it by its exact wording then legally they would have to pay me on June 14th.

Yes its 100% scamming me in this case because nowhere does it say that I won't get paid after that 1 week.

The bounty manager even stopped registrations on June 9th not June 12th and some people got paid on June 12th hours after ICO ended. So its unfair treatment either way and fits the exact definition of scamming me.

That is your interpretation of it nothing else, and if they are going to hide behind such unclear wording as if its iron clad (it would never hold up in a court of law if there were such a thing for this campaign) they wouldn't have changed the terms of their own ICO after it started. And if you want to stick to their terms them you yourself should have received 0 stakes since you don't have an avatar (50-50 = 0)

Its as simple as that they have scammed me.

Hey i also participate last thursday and i ask the manager bout this, that exactly what he told me.
Thats not my own interpretation.
Lol
Im not really bitter bout it because the really did say it in comment section after i report my participation.

Lol. You you want to bring crypto stuff to court? Good luck. You wont win at all. Its crypto world.
Decentralized and unregulated.

And based on your own wording 50-50=0 you cant get reward then why so whiny.

Well if we were following their rules to the letter as you suggest we should be then being fair yes all members should get 0 stakes. The point is they pick and choose which terms to follow and which not to, ie they are scamming people like me. I don't know why you are suggesting people should not be treated equally.

And no I don't want to bring crypto stuff to court but you are the one acting like their terms are a legal document when its full of holes in it and they aren't even clear which rules they follow themselves.
