1601  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How i can manage my job and my Bitcoin Trading at the same time? on: May 26, 2023, 08:42:30 PM
Hi, I hope you are all doing well. I am a teacher and teach students about IT. But from my job, I cannot fulfil my expenses that why start learning about Bitcoin the last 3 months my friend told me about the Bitcointalk forum in start working on bounties but not earned any money yet Now he said to make post other section will help me to trade and earning. I read the rules before posting. Can someone guide me on how I manage my time and earn money from trading what is an effective way to start?
I got the following from your posts.
1- Your job cannot cover your expenses so you are here to seek extra income.
2- You tried to work in the bounty sections but you have not earned any money
3- You are now considering building your account to earn from other means
4- You are also considering learning about bitcoin trading
5- And you want to know how to combine your job with the forum activities.

My advice
1-  Focus on learning and not making money. The bounty section will not expose you to the rudiments of Bitcoin.
2-Contribute to the forum that is why you need to learn about Bitcoin and the forum.
3- To trade you have to be knowledgeable about the trading section.
4-Many people on the forum also have full-time jobs. You don't need to spend all your time in the forum. Your spare time will be enough. Just avoid other time-wasting activities like using social media just for fun.
1602  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: May 26, 2023, 08:05:23 PM
Messi most likely will go back to Barcelona and i think Al Hilal wont be able to sign him even with the biggest contract ever. Messi is a person that isnt intrested that much in money because he already made a lot. Also Ronaldo will probobly leave and try and get back to europe to play in the champions league

It will take more than passion and love for Barcelona to make him shun a €1billon two years contract to join Al-Hilal. But it will be the world cup winner's father and agent Jorge Messi that will determine his future. Messi is always loyal to his father and delegates most of his career decision to him.

Joining the Saudi league will make Messi the highest-paid sportsman in the world and his presence will make the league more interesting. It will trigger back the rivalry between him and Ronaldo which will bring more attraction to Saudi. More investors and players will also be attracted. It will also indirectly boost the chances of Saudi Arabia's bid to co-host the world cup in the future. With all these benefits I am sure the Saudi government will do everything possible to make this deal possible. Coach Xavi is hoping that Messi will return to his former club but are they ready to face the consequences?
1603  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: journey to financial freedom on: May 26, 2023, 07:22:54 PM
It's never too late, so try to get this thought out of your mind. Although bitcoin has existed for more than ten years, there are still many people who do not know about it. Every day, many people just like you enter this market and start researching. So do not think that you are late and will miss an opportunity to get rich. Bitcoin is still relatively young and constantly evolving. The opportunity is still there; it's important that you choose the right time to buy it.
I am sure that many people have not heard about Bitcoin and others are reluctant to join the moving train. OP you need to debunk the idea that you are late because you are earlier than many people. So to avoid regret, utilize the opportunity you have now. Bitcoin still have greater opportunities in the future so you can buy and hodl because the price will still go high.

Sure, i'm interested in learning, that's why am here, and the response am receiving from the senior members is encouraging, i'll put my time in the forum to learn more about bitcoin and so i can be a "beneficiary of the halving coming soon"
All information you need about Bitcoin can be gotten from the forum. And you can ask a question about any confusing part you don't understand. Also, ensure that you read the rules of the forum and be a law abiding member. The only means of enjoying next year's halving is by buying Bitcoin now. You can have a plan to buy maybe weekly or monthly based on your income.
1604  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Happy to start bitcoin lifestyle. on: May 24, 2023, 04:45:00 PM
The most favourable investment is bitcoin, and I call it the most favourable is because it gives choice of what you want to invest, time, period, management and operations.
Bitcoin is one of the most favorable investment platforms. I know farmers in my area that make more than 200% profit on investment yearly. If you speak to them about Bitcoin they will not show interest because agriculture is a gold mine for them. Some people buy cheap properties and sell them after a few years making so much gain. Bitcoin can be your best investment and not for others.

Quote
I would love to take this opportunity to the next level, I don't investing any cash entering my hand even if bitcoin is going down or up, I still prefer it to others. I have seen a lot of testimonies of bitcoin despite the challenges it has faced but still good to mingle our mind with bitcoin lifestyle and love it, advertise it, campaign hard for it and trade cautiously. Bitcoin have touches lives my won't be exemption, I must learn, grow and earn from it.
It seems you are very passionate about Bitcoin and that is nice. Bitcoin has surmounted many challenges but no investment in the entire world has a 100% guarantee of making a profit. So we have to invest wisely. Don't also advertise Bitcoin as a get-rich-fast venture because it also has some level of risk In summary, believe in Bitcoin but don't put all your hope on the currency because it also has its shortcomings.
1605  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been threaten to stop gambling on: May 24, 2023, 04:12:57 PM
How about you have you been threatened by your wife, your girlfriend, or your parents, if so tell us your story.
My parents are the only people that can threaten me for now. If my parents know that I gamble, they would immediately withdraw their support and assistance. They perceive gamblers as lazy and wasteful people. Each time they see people coming out from casinos they speak badly about them. But they are unaware that I am doing the same with my phone. I ensure my gambling life is secret. And it will be difficult for them to know because they are not computer literate unless somebody informs them. The only people that know this part of my life are my friends.

I have not been threatened by anyone to quit gambling but it will be ideal to inform your partner that you gamble. When you are married both parties should be open to each other because if the other partner discovers it, this could breed mistrust. Both parties should endure the losses and enjoy the wins together. If my wife threatens to divorce me if I don't quit gambling, I will try to convince her that I am a responsible gambler. If she insists, I will have no option but to shun gambling.
1606  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Start a lending business on: May 24, 2023, 12:42:21 PM
I would like to become a lender like others on this forum, but as you can see from my account, I don't have the necessary credibility to operate like others.
I have the capital to lend, but it is normal that with such a low-level account, those wanting loans are worried about the collateral scam.
Are there any other ways to get started?

Do you think I can act as a lender by leaning on another user who escrow and who holds the collateral?

Any suggestion to start this business is very welcome.
Thank you
The most important factor is your passion and availability of funds. Since you have both of them, you're good to go. Reputation and credibility are not built in one day. As people start dealing with you, your service will determine the feedback or the rating you get. If you are trustworthy your client will recommend you to other members. Visit the lending board and study their operations. There are also well-established lenders in the forum. Their wealth of experience can be an asset to you. You can identify and reach out for some business advice. They might be willing to give you some important tips or trade secrets of the business. Wishing you a prosperous business.
1607  Other / Meta / Re: [Bitcointalk Party - Discord sv] Bitcoin Pizza bake-off contest! Enter by June 1 on: May 24, 2023, 10:54:14 AM
Happy Bitcoin Pizza Day celebration. I had this pizza with my family. It was the first time most of them had pizza and it was a nice experience. And I told them the significance of the celebration.

1608  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we know about lazlo's other contributions on bitcoinnet besides buying pizza? on: May 24, 2023, 08:19:07 AM
Great thread bud, I never knew about him anything apart from his infamous Bitcoin pizza buying on the forum.

Quote
He was the first person to release the Bitcoin code for Mac OS
This isn't a small contribution, this is integrating Bitcoin to an unsupported Operating System and the amount of vulnerabilities that could arise from it could be huge.
Kudos to this guy for doing what he did for the development of Bitcoin in the initial stage.

I don't know if this is his only contribution, but he is listed as a contributor to Bitcoin Core's code, so I assume he's made changes to the code that we probably all utilize today.  It goes to show you that sometimes you can make history in the software industry just by ordering a pizza, even when you've contributed to one of the most successful open source projects of all time.  People like a good story.  Smiley
I read an article and the writer stated that the Bitcoin community has been unfair to Laszlo Hanyecz because he is recognized only as the Bitcoin pizza man. He argues that he made a more significant contribution to bitcoin than just being the first spender. His contribution to GPU mining code that made him mine at a higher hashrate might be more impactful than just ordering a pizza with 10,000 BTC. But becoming the first person to use Bitcoin as a currency is symbolic. I have also observed that you don't choose how you will be remembered, history decides the aspect of your life to keep. He is even fortunate to be remembered yearly by the community because many contributors to the Bitcoin network are anonymous or less celebrated.
1609  Economy / Economics / Re: Argentina raises interest rate to 97% as it struggles to tackle inflation on: May 23, 2023, 06:32:49 AM
Inflation that is happening in Argentina is of course very worrying, according to the latest data more than 70% of Argentinian people are currently poor, it is time for the country to do big things to immediately deal with inflation, raising interest rates without being followed by economic activity will certainly never be effective.

As of last year, nearly four of every 10 people were poor which means that 39.2% of the population in the second half of 2022 we're poor. If this inflation is not checked more middle-income citizens might go down the poverty line.

Interest rate increase can help if the inflation stays below 20%. Beyond that, the impact of interest rate increase falls drastically. I remember reading a case study on this during my MBA days but can't really locate that material anymore. If the interest rate goes beyond 20%, people usually stop paying EMIs and start defaulting willingly. That puts huge pressure on banks.

The goal for Argentina now to take majority of the money out of circulation to reduce the purchasing power of their citizens to bring down the demand in the market. A drastic step like Demonetization is the only way out it seems. That's the only way to suddenly take out certain denominations from the circulation.
Argentina should also consider the causes of the failure of banks in the US before making monetary policy. Interest rate hikes would reduce spending and encourage contentment among citizens but it will affect business and can give rise to capital flight. Businesses that would have created job opportunities will be starved of the needed support from banks making them close down temporarily or permanently. Some businesses might decide to invest in neighboring countries that have low-interest rates because Argentina might not be conducive. It is very unfortunate how a beautiful and once economically stable nation is struggling to put its economy under control.
1610  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When to buy - A look into the future of BTC !? on: May 23, 2023, 03:09:05 AM
Now? = Yes but only till XRP Lawsuit Peak is over
After XRP Lawsuit victory while skyrocketing in 2-6 Weeks = NO, dont buy Highs!
At the deepest point of the following depression when everybody thinks crypto dies..again... about oct-dec = YES
January 2024, halving year = NOW ore NEVER!

Again this is no financial advice, just my personal strategy

I don't doubt the walltstreet cheat sheet because some of the predictions have some chance of occurring. The case of Ripple and Binance are mere speculations for now because nobody knows how it will play out. I just hope that the ftx issue will not reoccur this year. To reduce the effect these predictions, the dollar-cost average (DCA) investment style remains the best option. It helps one to use the profits from buying the deep to cover up the losses of buying high. It is great to also know that Bitcoin will still survive these problems and the bull run will certainly be next year. But for me, the best time to buy is now but gradually and consistently.
1611  Other / Meta / Re: Crimes of signatures campaign affects forum? on: May 23, 2023, 02:13:25 AM
I have taught of this seriously and I began to have a biased concern to bitcointalk if any signatures campaigns in bitcointalk can affects the existence of bitcointalk if they commit a crime that leads to government investigations.
This forum is law-abiding and will not intentionally promote illegal or fraudulent services or firm. I said intentionally because some companies can pretend to be genuine but have criminal intentions. The forum will take action against any company that engages in any fraudulent activities and members and others will always be warned to stay away from these firms.

Quote
Secondly do we believe that bitcointalk can  be obstructed by government if their is a noticeable crime by the management?
In this crazy world, nothing is impossible. The government can come up with cooked-up allegations especially if they think the forum is a threat to their selfish agenda. It could be a case of giving a dog a bad name because you want to get rid of it.

Quote
From my understanding it seems to me that bitcoin existence is different from the bitcointalk forum and without the existence of bitcointalk forum bitcoin will continue existing, what's your take on this.
I have seen people erroneously link mixers, gambling, or a Bitcoin forum to Bitcoin. They sometimes assume that Bitcoin and some concepts are inseparable. But this is untrue because Bitcoin is an independent concept. Other products are all attachments to Bitcoin and the currency can exit and strive without them. Bitcoin forums, gambling, mixers, and can cease to exist but Bitcoin will continue because it doesn't rely on these services.
1612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never Expect Consistent Winnings From Gambling - A Lesson I Learnt. on: May 23, 2023, 01:45:22 AM
^
Damn Poker Player! You really didn't ignore it. But I think the main point of the story is not about his gambling and losses but the lesson to be learned from the story to not start living like a king when you are not a king.

It's too early to live a high life when you have temporary riches. It's not like you are elon musk who has a government contract and got billions that even his grandchildren's children couldn't spend it all in their entire lives.
The story was not well written because many inconsistent activities are making it look untrue. This story might be true but the writer may lack some writing or storytelling skills. I have been around some persons that cannot narrate incidents in a simple, clear, and understandable manner. They keep on mixing things up until you get tired of the whole story. Others might not have abilities to arrange and put down words coherently and sequentially. They end up writing information in an uncoordinated manner that can make one doubt the write-up.

The story might not be true or badly written but I am sure everyone got the information. It is important to put out information in a truthful and organized but everyone got the moral of the story. The target was to enlighten us about the dangers of over-gambling and overspending. He tried to inform us of the need to maximize our wins in gambling because we might not be lucky all the time. He drove down the fact that easy money shouldn't lead to easy spending.
1613  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mr Beasts house robbed of everything except for bitcoin on: May 23, 2023, 01:24:08 AM
Here he talks about how his house was robbed, but the idiot robber just passed by his Pc which had a piece of paper sitting next to it that said “public and private keys” right on it lol. He laughs at what morons they were. Reminds me of the time my car was robbed of about $10 in change but they left my $600 radar detector and $2000 dvd player just sitting there lol.

Lesson here, not all robbers are there stupid, hide your keys!
There is a saying in my region that day's that "what you don't know is bigger than you. These criminals acted out of ignorance because they know nothing about Bitcoin. If knew about Bitcoin, they wouldn't have stolen any thing except those keys. This story reminds us of our most important responsibility as bitcoiners, which is how to secure our keys. I have never seen any conventional bank manager keeping the keys to the bank's vault on the table, they ensure it is always safe.

The story also informs us that many people are still not aware of the currency called Bitcoin. Therefore we need to increase Bitcoin awareness through diverse means that are convenient to use. More people need to be aware of this currency which can promote privacy and can also be a good investment scheme.
1614  Economy / Economics / Re: Will inflation in the world grow by 2023? on: May 22, 2023, 02:04:56 PM
If the factors that cause inflation still exists, then inflation levels would no doubt rise. But mind you that this is somewhat a global issue and is not peculiar to a particular country's economy or currency. When the Corona virus was at its peak, the measures taken by governments around the world to curb it was definitely going to result in inflation, and that's what's happening now, coupled with other world issues like physical and economic wars, as well as sanctions.
The Covid-19 pandemic distorted the global production and distribution chain leading to an increase in the cost of raw materials and finished products. The world was about recovering from the pandemic before Russia invaded Ukraine. This led to high costs of crude, gas, and power. Many firms couldn't cope with these unfavorable economic conditions leading to a high rate of unemployment. The sanctions and counter-sanctions between NATO and Russia caused inflation. Russia and its allies are economically relevant to the world because most nations depend on Russia for some goods and services. Except NATO get a capable nation that can replace Russia in the global economic market inflation will remain. But the surest pathway to reduce world inflation is to end the war in Ukraine and review sanctions.
1615  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Celebration Bitcoin Pizza Day. on: May 22, 2023, 11:45:48 AM
Today is the 13th Bitcoin Pizza Day. Laszlo Hanyecz bought two pizzas for 10,000 bitcoins on May 22, 2010. He was the first to use Bitcoin commercially. The history he made, hundreds of years will pass but no one can make history like him.
Today I will celebrate Pizza Day by buying a pizza.
Happy Pizza Day everyone
I don't like reading the story because I always consider today's worth of Bitcoin comparing it with the worth of the pizza. It may seem to be a waste but this act is symbolic. He paved the way for Bitcoin to achieve its goal as a currency. From many interviews conducted Laszlo Hanyecz has always reiterated that he didn't regret his actions. He paid a huge sacrifice for the community and just like you can't discuss Bitcoin without mentioning Satoshi, Hal Finney, etc the name Laszlo Hanyecz will always be remembered for this uncommon act. I will definitely celebrate today with a pizza and somebody must know about Bitcoin today through me. Happy Bitcoin Pizza Day to this great community.
1616  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Think Casinos Should Do Survey From Time To Time To Assess You. on: May 21, 2023, 04:03:38 PM
In light of two cases about casinos being charged for not stopping one player from playing past his betting threshold and from one demanding one casino to return his losses because of VPN issues.

Do you think casinos should implement a survey assessment from time to time to assess gamblers if they are comfortable spending more and if they are using VPN all the time even if they allow the use of VPN.

This is for the casinos to avoid issues in the future when players look for loopholes to regain their losses by charging them in court.

Stake.com not paying out my money

A Gambling Operator Court Case
It is not a bad idea to carry out periodic surveys to consider how your customers feel about your service. The reason why these casinos were charged was because they broke the laws of the regulators. Most nations are mulling out strategies to reduce gambling addictions, so they don't take the violation of the betting threshold lightly. Regarding the VPN issue, the terms of service should be able to handle it. VPN application is an important aspect of online or crypto gambling that every casino should ensure that it is extensively covered in the terms of service. If there are any loopholes, the gambling site should learn from their mistakes and ensure that such issues will not arise in the future.
1617  Economy / Economics / Re: When will we stop living for the weekend? Escaping the 9-5 life. on: May 21, 2023, 03:03:57 PM
Are you satisfied with this way of life, or would you prefer to live a different way? What would you like to change and how? Personally, I'm clueless and not satisfied with the idea of spending the rest of my life like this.
Life is not all about making money. But we need to enjoy our lives by doing what gives us joy, fulfillment, and pleasure at the right time. But the problem is that if you don't work hard you might end up becoming poor and needy. The economic situation of the world has turned men into machines that have to work for hours to make ends meet. Until the economic situation improves in my country I doubt I will ever be able to enjoy my life. The sad reality is that we might die unhappy because we dedicated the totality of our productive years to working to survive and not to be fulfilled.

People that are fortunate to have rich parents or relatives will be able to live thier dreams with lucrative inheritances. Others that also dare to resign from their job to chase their dreams might be fortunate. Some sportsmen, entertainers, and entrepreneurs took the risk of dumping their job to pursue their passion. Some of them became successful and acquired sustainable wealth that has allowed them to live a fulfilled life. Early bitcoin investors might have earned some money that will make them not depend totally on their jobs for survival.
1618  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin investment, fulltime endeavor or side hustle? on: May 21, 2023, 02:42:33 PM
after this encounter, I decided to bring this question too to the Bitcoin community itself so I would hear from other traders like myself. What is your opinion about this would you quit your job and go into Bitcoin investment, considering it as a full-time hustle?

I don't need to spend all my time looking at my computer or wallet because I am a Bitcoin trader or investor. I just need to look at the prices of some coins a few times or even once daily. So what will I be doing with the other hours? Maybe relax and eats snacks because I am a trader or investor. Even if I am a millionaire in Bitcoin, it will not stop me from engaging in my conventional job. Bitcoin will always be a side hustle for me because I want to be a professional in other endeavors that will assist me in contributing to the development of my area. Everything is not all about money but fulfillment derived from accomplishing a specific task. To avoid being a target of criminals it is good to still be working so that people will not know you own bitcoin.
1619  Other / Meta / Re: Forum Menbership- 3.5m registered only 56k members survived?..... Why? on: May 21, 2023, 01:30:07 PM
...
• The merit system is also a barrier cause newer members see their time here to be unproductive as the bar for progress keeps getting higher, and the chances of your quality post being seen (outside certain boards) keeps dropping. There are fewer members sharing merits around these days.
This issue could be helped with more merit sources being added to ensure quality posts gets rewarded.
...

I thought so previously also. I was new in here, it was not so easy to get merits and I decided too keep some smerits for the newbies like me to share. I've got not many but enough for my idea and spent lot of time searching for newbies with good posts which were not seen by senior users. And I didn't fount anyone. Since then I just share my smerits when I see something I think deserve it and don't try to find an overlooked newbie. If you see the one, you can say to some merit source, many of them will be happy to help a prospective newbie, or you can just give him merits by yourself.
From my point of view, I think that this forum is not for everybody. Yeah, I have introduced a few persons to this forum and when they couldn't get merit for a few weeks after making some posts they all abandoned their account. This forum is for the patient, tolerant and meek.

If you are not patient enough to wait and learn about the operations of Bitcoin and the forum but expect to get merit just like that after a few posts, you might get discouraged.

Some people also think the forum is like another social media platform so they want to post uncontrollably. When they are cautioned, they become offended and leave. One of the people I brought to the forum was angry that his post was deleted.

Anyone that is not willing to learn and improve will not last here. I have also observed that patience, tolerance, and meekness are gradually disappearing among my peers.

But it will also be good to see more merits on other boards because newbies need time to learn about the technical or more complex parts of Bitcoin. They shouldn't be expected to post like others. These newcomers also need to be encouraged because they think that merits are only given to higher members.
1620  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 20, 2023, 07:41:53 PM
Nottingham needs the winning because it is very important for them. Nottingham defended the only goal in the match to jump out from relegation. Arsenal wouldn't have any problem if they lose or win nothing changes. I wouldn't see the result of this game to be a disappointment to Arsenal fans, because the trophy has slipped out their hands after they couldn't defeat Manchester city in their last clash. Let Arsenal prepare their team for next season and the champions league.

A disappointing season for Arsenal and especially coach Artet. They had worked very hard this season only to lose the league because of their current poor play. I just can't explain what happened to the team because there were no major injury problems. I didn't want Manchester City to win the league but the title chase is finally over.

It was a good game for Nottingham Forest and they deserved to win that game. They created many chances but it was Awoniyi that broke the deadlock. The Nigerian striker has scored ten goals in 26 matches and five goals in three current matches. It is great that Nottingham has avoided relegation. They now have all the time to channel their effort to the next season. The management of the team needs to invest more money in players so that they can build a very competitive team next season.
