1603  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopay Bitcoin Debit card + Giveaway on: December 12, 2017, 10:17:56 PM
I have question,
making payment with card on online shop,   a payment stuck, I refreshed page and did payment again, then I saw that card charged twice, but online shop show only one payment and one order.
How i can cancel additional one?

Thanks

This happened to me once, back when I still had the Wave Crest card. It took ages (a month) for the blocked funds to be available for spending again.

There are two options: 1) if the merchant (the online shop) is trustworthy, contact them (the merchant) and ask them to reverse or cancel the second transaction or 2) dispute the transaction by contacting Cryptopay who in turn will contact the card issuer to initiate a charge-back or a dispute of the second payment. The dispute will take time because Visa will give the merchant an opportunity to defend itself from your requested charge back. A lot of time. Weeks (in my case it took a month). I didn't dispute. Wave Crest told me if the merchant doesn't settle the second payment, Visa will automatically credit the funds back to my card. And they did.

If you want the money credited back to your card ASAP, you must proactively work on the matter by contacting the merchant. The merchant should reach out to their bank and have the second payment cancelled and Visa informed of that cancellation.
Thanks, for explain, amount very small (11EUR) and merchant one of biggest local shopping center(also online),
I hope they will return automatically, without my action.

Unfortunatelly it is not destined to happen, paypal reversible , and escrow service can not protect it from it,
unless you agree wait 180 day.

1608  Economy / Exchanges / Re: 2017 Bitcoin Debit Card Reviews on: December 12, 2017, 08:56:42 AM
Well in that case I'm gonna keep using Cryptopay. 2.2% combined with the awful Bitcoin exchange rate is a lot of money.

I think that in a way or another they all have bad rates and fees. At least Wirex was accepted everywhere I needed until now.
On another hand, I expect you share the Cryptopay experience with us, since if it's indeed better, they'll earn more users.
And I expect that more the users, lower the fees are going to be sooner or later.

Does Wirex cards have chips and/or contactless? What about Bitstamp debit cards?

They are advertising for some 2 months already that contactless cards will be available soon. But afaik they are not there yet.
My card does have chip though - I didn't know that cards without chip are still being made in 2017.

Hi,

Thinking to get a debit card to pay with bitcoins. I am completely new to this debit card world, so no idea how it works all together.
I live in the UK, so... what I read on this threat is that European countries have debit cards abaiable. Now.. the question is which one is more reliable and the fees are less.

When do you need to pay fees?
- When you deposit btc to your debit card?

or/and..

- When are you using the debit card to pay?

How do they calculate the exchange rate to pass from BTC to fiat? because if you have btc on your account and every time you pay with your debit card I believe they will need to exchange the BTC each time...

Thanks!

Thanks for your reply.

I have just check Cryptopay card. I would like to compare the data with Wirex for example, as it's one of the more popular cards out there. I will be more than happy if you can share the same info about your Wirex experience:

- Issue debit card:   £15 (include shipment)
- Monthly card maintenance: 1€/£1
- Deposit: 1% (fee deposit) + 1% (currency exchange) = 2% TOTAL
- ATM transaction (national): 2.25€ / £1.75
- ATM transaction (international): 2.75€ / £2.25 + 3% foreign trans. fee
- How many cards can you have? Just one card in each currency.
- Not verified user limits: £1000 lifetime limit for deposits.

Cryptopay  made significant changes,  after December 10th,  if you’ve exceeded the new lifetime load limit of $250/€250/£200, you won’t be able to load your card.
ATM withdrawals will be $100/€100/£80(Lifetime )

Do you mean the restriction for unverified user only?
Yes, restriction only for unverified user.
And by the way verification is not easy, to prove your address, you can use ONLY the following types of documents:
    Utility bills
    Bank statements
    Credit card statements
    Tax invoices
    Other government issued residential statements/certificates

1616  Economy / Lending / Re: Small bitcoin loans (<100$) bitcointalk accounts as collateral on: December 11, 2017, 02:54:48 PM
This is an obvious attempt of Collateral scam/Account "buy".
Nobody will send his Account info, to a newbie without any history or constribution to the community.

By the way, it's strange that you accept only Accounts as Collateral for "lending" others. Especially low ranked...

he sad he will accept an escrow, so I don't see the problem the borrowers will send their account info to the escrow not to him
most likely this smart attempt to buy "cheaply" accounts, hiding under a loan, so as not to call out community outrage.
