Wait, is there a problem with the pool?

Is the website down?

Omg can I still mine?

Wait, it looks like I'm still mining, is my work being counted?

Are we being DDoSed?

Will I get paid for the work I'm doing now?

How will I get paid for the work I'm doing now?  PPS please?

Are my coins safe?

When can I withdraw my coins?  How about now?

What's wrong with the stats?

How come this block isn't the same as the one before the attack?

Can I withdraw my coins now? Please?

OMG Now MTGOX IS DOWN TOO!!!

Ahhhh, the internet.....

I was under impression that this thread is here to look in when there is some emergency. Or for some important announcements by pool operator.
I am just tired of wading through countless posts of people who feel they have something important to say and just clutter thread with nonsense and garbage.

Nope, this thread is for people to constantly ask the same questions that were asked about 4 or 5 posts ago... There is a pre-requisite not to read previous messages - you just need to post your question regardless of the fact that some person posted the same question 10 mins ago. Has there been a problem with Slushes pool recently btw - 7 post memory?

Yes, still locked out which is frustrating as I wish to know how I am mining.

Try a different browser - Chrome or Opera or something...

Apr. 25 2013 15:30 CEST UPDATE

Dear all, we'd like to give everyone an update as to what exactly is happening, has happened, and will happen in relation to the recent events at Bitcoin-Central.net.
...

Bloody hell! this is really bad by OVH (although I do think it's madness anyway to host a bit coin exchange in the cloud). I hope Mt.Gox have better security than this... This kind of stuff makes the market unstable.

My reward calculations look correct for the whole period of the outage - well done Slush - hopefully back to the normal long slog now...

It's possible than when the site does come back online, the attackers could quickly log in as some of us, change our bitcoin address to be theirs, lower our payment thresholds and steal our confirmed coins...
Or am I being paranoid...

No, even if they have your login details changing the payout address needs email confirmation, so unless the attacker(s) have access to your email too they can't change your payout address.

Thanks

Stratum servers have been migrated to (not-compromised) EC2 backends, I just see few first connections. So mining continues and no action is required by you.

I'll set up database and website in few hours on trusted machines, so the pool will be in normal operation soon.

I'd have my EC2 servers penetration tested several times by big companies because my sites take online payments - they couldn't get in - I'll feel safer when your in the EC2 cloud Slush...

why they will hack slush pool especially???

I think because this was, similarly to Linode issue, an inside job. I don't have any indices that other bitcoin-related servers at OVH has been hacked as well (yet), but the scenario how all this happen indicates that somebody has been able to get password recovery email somehow. And what's the salary of administrator of OVH mailing server?

20-30k UKP - indeed...

but why the site up???

Is it? Press F5 refresh - site is down I think

its down for maintenance, but if was ddos we wouldnt get an error???

If it was DDoS - the tw*ts would be attacking the pool not the web site - so you may see the website work but your miners not mining - both are down (for me) so I think it's probably DDoS - but it could just be down to teething problems with amazon EC2 switch...

It's almost as if they think he's somehow got coins stored on his computer or something...?

Could just be a problem with amazon EC2 switch - just checked my ec2 cloud servers - runinng OK - this looks like another (boring achieve nothing) DDoS to me

Those f**king DDoS:ers.. What's the point? Is it really that profitable to DDoS out sluch pool?

Can't be a coincidence that when BTC rises in value, Slush gets DDOS - interesting

Don't know, but I really hope so....

hope it's not another (very boring) ddos

Sent an email yesterday to Mt.Gox as follows:

14 days ago - still not received the funds in my bank. Your site says 1-5 working days - what's going on? This is my second email now - no reply to the first...
2013/04/08 13:40:21 Withdraw Status: confirmed 106.83000 €

Got a reply today as follows:

Gene, Apr 23 13:56 (JST):
Hello,
Sorry for the delay. The transaction is in process. We will continue to check the status of these transferes and notify you as soon as they are processed.
Thanks,
MtGox.com Team

So what you are saying is - it is better to have 1 fast worker then fast worker and a slow worker? Hmm... maybe that explains how my return varies from block to block for up to 30% even though I do not turn off my workers and their speed doesn't change. Under current algorithm it seem to be better to assign slower workers to some PPS pool   Huh

Or assign your worker to the same account...

K.

Not sure what you mean. I have 3 workers on the same account.

I thought it was made clear that the latest hashes/shares submittled had the highest score? it says it on his website (migration control if i'm not mistaken).

K.

right, but do slower workers really affect the fastest one by bad luck??? I did not see confirmation for that.

I was under the impression that each worker's contribution is computed independently and they added up to total w/o affecting each other.

Really?, have you spent time observing? - I don't think it's bad, but, it is the way it is, full stop.

K.

Well Kruncha you are not helping, I am sorry but none of your answers made any sense or any point

Look , I'm not here to argue, I love this site. The score system works as I have observed it to work, ask Slush, he'll tell you.

K.

Olga, Kruncha - take it offline please...
1619  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hi all, getting 4x HD 7990 next week on: April 22, 2013, 12:02:33 AM
Hi all, I am trying to buy 4x ATI HD 7990's does anyone know what that will give me, I was hoping to be around 5Gh, I would buy a Buttey Labs machine, if I thought I'd get one before a year if at all, so am going to spend £3000-£4000 next week I hope.

I have 4 x 7970's and am getting approx 1 BTC per week - so with 4 x 7990's you should see nearly double that -be careful with gpu overheating though with that kind of kit. 5Gh is a good estimate. I get 2.6 with mine...

Why? because featercoins are most easy to get compare to lite and bitcoin. And popularity is high.

Get some feathers

Yeah but I can convert bitcoins to cash (via the mtgox monster) where can I sell feathers?
