16141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Estonia obsessed with BTC? on: January 21, 2015, 06:05:03 PM
Risto is also from Estonia and he has built a castle with money earned only from Bitcoin, some say.
Maybe a lot of estonians try to also get rich with Bitcoin? (Yeah, I guess that most will or did only lose money with it, but people like to hope.)
16142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CPU only coins to mine? on: January 21, 2015, 08:56:55 AM
Is mining magi more profitable than cryptonote coins?

From my tests there is at least one cryptonote coin that is more profitable to mine than Magi. But not for long, it seems....
But you know, all depends on the price and the difficulty.
16143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CPU only coins to mine? on: January 20, 2015, 07:47:32 PM
I mined XMR, I mined XMG, I mined DNC... now all seem to be worthless Sad
Last good hit was DNC, but now price is too low...

If there is no current pump or you mine a brand new coin, ALL coin prices are down. Did you hear that BTC, LTC and nearly all other coins crashed down?
Mining is not only making quick profit. If you believe in a coin, you will make long-term profit. Did you stop mining BTC for example, when the rate went down from $1200? Magi is a long-term project, not a pump and dump coin that will die after the dev made his profits. Read the ANN thread and get an idea of the concept.

I've read Magi ann much better than many. I've also translated it. You missed that Smiley)
Right now, by chance, I mine Magi. Still... if I believe in a coin, I don't necessarely mine it. Sometimes I mine something easier to mine and buy what I want to keep.

16145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The last (but not final) Bitcoin bubble and the new Blockchain era on: January 20, 2015, 04:11:59 PM
This thread had a success, but the opposite of what the OP would like.

I see this thread as an useless battle between the adopters of a couple of altcoins. Now, Monero I know what it is (and I kinda like it, shhh!) so I guess I will take a look what the other "involved" coins are, because it's a big world and I believe that the coin for the future may actually be the ones that learns how to implement all the best ideas from the coins. And until then, all the coins with genuine ideas may have a chance.
16146  Other / New forum software / Re: When is my next rank upgrade ? on: January 20, 2015, 02:45:39 PM
As far as I know, the rank upgrade is not related only to time and number of posts. It also depends on the quality of the posts, which makes the math.. not that obvious.

But I don't actually know how it's done now, but I guess that it involves some human check.

What ? That's impossible if you ask me , how they will check thousands & thousands of users lol besides I don't remember having a dely on time for my upgrade
I never heard of that my self , I'm pretty sure that's all it's all about math here , just reach the Activity needed and boom , here you are on the new Rank . nothing else

I hope someone can confirm tho

I did some more research. My statement is correct only for Legendary ("somewhere between 775 and 1030 activity"). For the "normal" ranks I was wrong and you were right.

OP, I see that you have no bounty for Romanian translation... would you need that.
If you consider it useful, please let me know and I will try to make the translation for you these days.
16148  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Zen Hashlet PayCoin unofficial uncensored discussion. ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :-) on: January 20, 2015, 10:37:13 AM
I had a free hashlet for ~2.5 months. Now it has disappeared without a word.
Ohwell, it was good as it lasted, especially as I even cashed out once.
I guess that this also ends my cloud mining endeavor. The concept .. just doesn't seem worth any investment, whether it's for real or fake.
16149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sucks its nearly impossible to sell tangible goods for BTC! on: January 20, 2015, 10:14:46 AM
As long as the price is unstable, and even worse - it's declining - almost everybody will actually avoid BTC.
Also, as I said, most people don't consider yet BTC as a currency or as a value. They see it more like a valuable item in an online game.
16150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: RiceCoin Celebrating a love of Uncle Bens amazing rice action || Bounties on: January 19, 2015, 04:36:02 PM
Here the site works. I even try to mine, just my CPU is .. well... far too slow (didn't send a hash yet, but getting work from suprnova).
16151  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Instant Payment (Because i win BET 10BTC :D ) on: January 19, 2015, 03:07:11 PM
WTF?!

I should start claiming I am a Nigerian prince. Maybe somebody will start sending me money too.
I mean, the negative trust should have been started flowing before anybody would have sent any money.

Ohwell... too bad for CryptoservCanada. The lesson was not too expensive after all...
16152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Is it a good idea to have all BTC on one address on: January 19, 2015, 02:32:42 PM
It's like with the cash. Will you keep all your cash in your pocket? I guess not.
Keep what you use daily in one place and the rest somewhere more safe (a couple of paper wallets?)

16154  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: which ponzi to invest in? on: January 19, 2015, 02:03:09 PM
The best profit you can make wit Ponzi is 0% and that's if you keep your money home.
It's the only case you have 100% chance you didn't lost them.
In most Ponzi cases others will make the "quick profit" and you'll only lose. Almost 100%.
16155  Economy / Speculation / Re: Get ready for liftoff. on: January 16, 2015, 03:37:50 PM
history repeats itself

A lot of people are hoping it does.  Smiley

And when the next bubble will be big, they will all.....   buy.
You know why? Because .. history repeats itself  Grin
16156  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: How can we create a provably fair Ponzi Game ? on: January 16, 2015, 11:48:54 AM
I dont understand why people are categorizing Ponzi games by default as a scam.

Each "investor" in a Ponzi scheme has smaller chance of return than the previous one.
Everybody who knows what a Ponzi scheme is and plays, actually hopes that he will not be the scammed one, he hopes he will scam the next "investor".

Unlike a dice game, where you know (if the owner is fair) that you will surely be paid if you win, in a Ponzi, even if the owner is fair and doesn't run with the money, at some point the game will stop and the last ones "playing" or "investing" will lose.
At that point the owner of the game will publicly called a scammer anyway. And because that, most will actually wait for the best moment and just run with the money. Because scammer with money is better than "fair" scammer, you know.

I hope it make sense now.
16157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: January 16, 2015, 11:00:40 AM
I have just returned here after a period of absence, has the code been fixed since?
I was unable to send any transaction over 1 XMR in size, also there needs to be a GUI wallet that actually works.
We've never had an issue with transactions over 1 XMR in size in our entire history. If you had a specific issue (such as a lot of dust and transactions needing to be split) then that's a specific problem that you'd have to address by sending larger amounts to a separate wallet to clear out the dust.

Actually there has been in the early mining days a problem with the big transactions if you were small miner or in a (too) bog pool: your wallet was full of dust and 1 XMR was too big for a transaction. I had that myself.
But meanwhile the pools started sending bigger "chunks" of payment and most of us don't really have dust anymore in the wallets, hence the problem is not existing anymore.
Now, since the tx fee is based on the transaction size, if you still have old wallet with dust, you may have to pay quite a lot for some of the transactions - see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=583449.msg10170580#msg10170580

If I would enroll now... would I have to make minimum 50 posts until the end of January or until 15 February? I am not sure if I understood the rules good.
