Mohamed Salah is the best player in the Premier League this season until the 27th week. Salah always gives the best for Liverpool, Harry Kane may be superior in the number of goals, but in his contribution to the team game, no one is better than Salah.1 goal last night shortened the distance with Harry Kane and stepped over Aguero. Mohamed Salah is also very likely to be the top scorer.

I actually have a hard time deciding between Firminho and Salah, both are superb that's apparent. I like Firminho's work rate, he plays with spirit and endeavour. Salah has the simple guile that deceives defenders again and again. Both are extremely unselfish, Firminho probably the more generous. Total team players, no petulance, such team spirit.

Kane's wonderful too and probably worth more as an individual to Spurs than either Salah or Firminho - but that's exactly how I like Livepool to be. Who else has got a Tremendous Three, yeah? Yeah okay Dynamic Duo since Mane's off form but his contributions are still important to terrorising defences.

Also, Kane may have 23 goals, but take away the penalties and Salah's got more outfield goals. Kane has power, Salah has a bit of finesse.

Agree on principle, but that's just the principle of the market. If you don't have makers, you don't have takers. If you don't have sellers, you don't have buyers. It's actually as simple as that. And yes, by virtue of choice, people can have "strong hands" and "weak hands" but I feel it's a disservice to use these labels so easily. We can't do without the "weak hands", we know this. And we won't have a market if we all held. Look at stronghand coin as a matter of joking reference and we have super thin orderbooks with nowhere in sight.

Southampton vs Liverpool and i was discover interesting fact regarding this match that since 2016 the results matches between both of teams always be less of goals and this time i think not so different that there are possibility the results too will be under 2.5 goals and i think this option would be my pick

Careful now...  Firmino shot a goal very early in the match.  Grin

If Southampton keeps making those kinds of defensive errors, expect LFC to win it 3 - 0.

Ouf, but we came close to scoring a third on several occassions! Would have loved to get another 3-0 win (yeah, I know it's sickening to see a guy bet the same result over and over again I know) but I think a clean sheet at this stage is a much better offer to take. Looks like the under 2 goals bet would double the money but on this form, Liverpool's offence (and bad defence) means bookies are only offering 2.5 at minimum. Even 2.75 on my fav bookie.

Nice to hear the Saints still got a lot of voice, I wonder if Klopp didn't deliberately put on every ex-Southampton player he could on the bench! The home fans gave their best to VVD, but there was enough even for subs Lallana and Lovren.
16144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Request to all Bitcoin holders on: February 11, 2018, 05:34:26 PM
@Pooya87 Thanks for being so quick to point out the error of OP's post! SegWit was a huge deal achieved last year, and Lightning Network is well underway. But having all these innovations will be pretty pointless if services don't adopt them (yes, they finally are and even the slowpokes like Coinbase will be rolling SW out soon).

Scalability is always going to be an issue, but it is a good issue to have. Think about it. If Bitcoin never got the kind of use we have today, the network would never get so congested. That it has an issue is a nice problem to have. I'd love for the network to grow even more, to the point that even LN will need to improve.

Perhaps the request to all Bitcoin holders would be to be a bit more aware of what's going on with Bitcoin and help foster the innovation. Advocate the services you use to quickly take up SW and LN, for example.

Hello! I was just talking about the Korean events. My own personal favourite crypto bookies haven't really picked up on it, but Nitrogensports does have a decent offering, the main events are all there: skiing, hockey, even curling (yeah, I know, but it's the only sports there I sort of really understand haha). For men's curling, I'm going to omit Canada (favourites to win) and go for a three-way even ML bet on Sweden @3.0, Switzerland @13.0 and Norway @15. If Sweden win, and they've got a good chance, I don't lose any money, but if the Swiss or Norwegians win, easy x10.

Canada's hockey looks good @5.3 too...
16146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk English Premier League pool betting Discussion Thread on: February 11, 2018, 01:11:25 PM
I thought this to be a bad week for me so far with only 70 points but I see together with another member of the competition have hit 70 points, very near top now. Anyway I am afraid I can't do a lot in the remaining games so looking forward to next week. Wow even closer now to the top, this competition is so freakin fun that words cannot describe it how fun it is for me. My objective is still to end in the top five, anything above this is a personal win for me.

Glad it's working out for you, and glad I'm not the only one enjoying this! It's actually my first time in a betting pool with a community I don't know in real life, and have got to say it's actually a bit more fun than expected. That the prize pool is a lot bigger than when we first started is a bonus, but that's really just thanks to Bitcoin appreciation. Not much more games left, but I think everyone in Top 12 spots still have a very decent fighting chance at top 5 prizes - kudos especially to those who entered late but are still climbing the ranks.

Same objective as me, I've been hovering in 7th and 8th for a very long time. This week got 3 correct outcomes but not results so 30 points is a bummer. If Liverpool can salvage something for me, I'll be very happy with 70 points.

Oh shit I forgot about the matches this weekend. Been watching the winter Olympic games all the time yesterday haha  Grin

My kid's been begging me to watch that but after 5 minutes of yawning at curling... no offense, but I'm struggling to find any enjoyment with winter games. Granted, they're quite curious to watch but after the novelty wears off...

Trawling my sportsbooks too but I don't know enough about the athletes to bet properly!

https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/address/15zqsdWVtupAdPqpD1yBAR18UnPdZo44Bz/transactions says that address 15zqsdWVtupAdPqpD1yBAR18UnPdZo44Bz received 0.16794589 on Dec. 12th 2017 and sent the same amount on Jan. 5th 2018. Or I don't know what I'm talking about?

I used Electrum for those transactions.

Seems to be correct. The first transaction looks to be your withdrawal from Binance, where they sent you output of 0.16794589 to 15zqsdWVtupAdPqpD1yBAR18UnPdZo44Bz, which is your address, right? It's a batch transaction to a lot of others so I guess this is the one.

The second transaction is probably the one you sent with Electrum, you spent the entire input of 0.16794589 to 3C99h5pb3Ut2kGc6Mfx965Tpg6EEWBdwFz, including a fee of 0.00079613.

So... all looks in order. You spend all of the output received as a new input (so yeah, the amounts are the same).
16148  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-09] Russian Bitcoin Blogger Robbed and Beaten After Boasting Wealth on: February 10, 2018, 06:27:38 PM
It's stupid that people even feel the need to show off. Seriously, people are careful and very quiet when it comes to their fiat wealth, but they have no problems sharing with the outside world how much they made with crypto in the last years. I don't even talk about my own Bitcoin holdings, and that while I am by far not wealthy. If I speak with people about Bitcoin, I either say I have just experimented with a few hundred bucks, or just say I missed the boat, but that I am interested in the technology behind it. With crypto gaining value, people more than ever become a target, and this once again shows that you should keep your mouth shut, and especially so on internet....

I guess this really is the type of people that are getting wealthy from Bitcoin, isn't it? I'm not a veteran by any means but I'm already seeing some of my contacts who've only been "trading" in months boasting that they made the best decision to put all their savings into crypto and actually making fun of others for only earning single digit interest on government bonds, posting screenshots of their Luno accounts. It's as if they're begging to be hacked. Really makes for the fool and his money that are soon parted.

I don't mind sharing at all if people are really interested, but yeah, never about how much. Just how I earn and how I diversify. Only my partner knows about my wallets and access.
16149  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Transaction fee shown in blockain but transaction arrived in full on: February 10, 2018, 06:02:23 PM
Checking your transaction on
https://blockchain.info/tx/b58f392c480da597b38c98b3c02ac7637c8cc4d6eb9cbffb5bb0846c65b15e75

And you get how it's supposed to look. The fee and outputs are taken from the total input(s). The output you received to address "3C99h5pb3Ut2kGc6Mfx965Tpg6EEWBdwFz" was just as you said... 0.16794589 - 0.00079613 = 0.16714976 exactly.

Which wallet are you using exactly?
16150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: February 10, 2018, 03:38:45 PM
What do you guys think of Burnley (away) to win, +0 vs Swansea at 2.35?  I think there's some value there considering that you get your money back if it's a draw.

I know Swansea is motivated in getting out of the relegation zone, but Sean Dyche is also trying to finish as high as where he can take Burnley on the EPL table.  And Burnley's squad > Swansea's squad.

If this game was played 2 months ago I would say play straight win for Burnley, but in recent games Swansea upped their game, and Burnley had some bad results. Granted Burnley had a tough schedule playing vs. top teams.

I see this as a tough game with low number of goals and probably draw, maybe 0:0 or 1:1. As you said your choice has some value and is probably still good bet to take, just not as good as it was before change of form.

Exactly why I'm thinking Sean Dyche is prolly, in his raspy voice, going:  'LISTEN YOU LITTLE SH*TS!  SWANSEA IS ONE THE THE EASIEST FIXTURES TO GET A WIN...  LOSE, AND I SHALL CUT OFF MY D*CK AND EAT IT ON NATIONAL TELEVISON!'

And the Burnley players in the dressing room, all riled up, roar.

Cheesy

Crap. This week I didn't bet on any straights, all over/unders and I didn't bet on a single outcome with a "zero" for either team, so already lost the spurs bet... and very unusually, all six games happening right now are still scoreless after half an hour. Got a 1-1 Burnley/Swansea draw, guess I wasn't the only one thinking this is the most exciting game of the lot (after Gunners/Spurs).

@toke: you're not saying Dyche is actually McAfee in disguise are you?! Wink And you seem on the spot here for a low-scoring draw, I wouldn't count on any team's form at the moment, save for City!
16151  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: As a newbie where to buy my first crypto? on: February 10, 2018, 01:21:11 PM
Coinbase and Localbitcoins are best choice for the people who want to invest and buy the coins. I am not sure without crypto coins you cannot go to bitrex to buy it moreover they would not allow people to sign up all the time.
If you are Europe you can go to Coinbase to buy, Asian countries not more supportive to buy bro. Once after you bought the coins do not keep that fund on trading site itself. Keep it safe on Segwit wallet like electrum for your safety.

I would definitely go for Localbitcoins (LBC) over any centralised exchange. For a newcomer, I think you should really experience your first buy from a peer-to-peer platform like LBC.

1. Price-wise, they're pretty decent, depending on location. Don't let the trades there fool you, they might seem expensive but what you buy is what you get (all the fees are already included in price), unlike the rates published at others like Coinbase, where you'll receive a smaller amount after fees, commissions, exchange rate. So for a newbie, I think it's best if you want 1 BTC, you see instantly the price you have to pay and you get exactly the amount you bought.

2. Speed. We've all heard about problems with exchanges. Delays in verification, poor customer support. With LBC, depending on your mode of payment, you get your Bitcoins quickly. All my trades in my home country are with online bank transfer, which can even be instant, so I conclude them in less than 5 minutes.

3. Safety. Choose only LBC's online trade so you're protected by system escrow. Meaning, when you confirm the buy trade, the BTC is locked in escrow pending your payment. It's one of the most secure ways to buy Bitcoin I know of.

Either way, whichever place you eventually choose, my advice is always to fully verify your account first before attempting to trade. You don't want issues AFTER you've bought.
16152  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud mining - my experience on: February 10, 2018, 11:28:10 AM
Thanks guys for your reply. Fingers crossed that there is not another btc drop to a new low and my contract will run as long as possible. At least only 1-2 months from now and I will reach my break even. So glad I didn't put more money into it. In the end I can say I was involved into btc mining but that s pretty much it. Is it the same with those other contracts as well like ETH or ZCASH where it is from start limited to 2 years without maintenance fees? Or is that even something you wouldn't recommend as well?

Hopefully you've learnt your lesson; next time an opportunity comes along that looks good, do a little bit of your own due diligence. This forum would have put you off it had you checked here first. There's so much wrong with cloud mining setups, I've talked about them in other posts but this thread brings up another point: cloud mining contracts terminate after a period of no earnings, usually when difficulty is up, price is down, so you get 0 profit after "maintenance fees". But I wonder if they ever "revive" if the price suddenly climbs, or difficulty suddenly drops? They don't, of course!

This makes you see so easily that you should have just bought Bitcoin. Cloud mining simply doesn't work.

P.S. Just let your contract expire and take all you can and hold. Also, if you're getting daily payouts, you might want to take advantage of current network conditions to consolidate all the payments. Another bad side of cloud mining is the daily payouts... if you've been getting it since August you now have over 150 inputs fattening up your wallet.
16153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: February 10, 2018, 11:19:58 AM
Juventus had a decent game they didn't control the possession but they knew how to play this game. The first goal that came from the free kick put them infront then Higuain receives a pass that killed the game I think that if Fiorentina had some luck they could made Juventus drops some points but that is why they are competing on the League they are the best team performing right now with 11 wins in row and conceading just 1 goal in their past 15 games across all Competitions.
My expectation for tomorrow main event that will be held between Napoli and Lazio is to have over 2.5 goals both teams have offensive mentality as the visitors wants to break their recent winless streak and hosts wants to claim back the top spot from Juventus.

Ouf, I thought my +0.75 bet on Fiorentina was about to get me back half my stake but Higuain had to spoil it 5 minutes from time! Juvie played well for sure, and I probably should stop betting against form! Speaking of form, Napoli's own streak can't be ignored. They don't fire 7 goals a game the way Juventus recently did but their trip to the top really reminds me of Leicester's bid two seasons ago across the ocean. Slim wins, same players week in, week out, and a lot of contributors to the goal tally. I'm predicting another 2-1 win, but just going for a straight bet. Pressure is on, this is a must win game.

P.S. Mertens to score first at 18/5 at BetVictor looks worth a small sidebet.
16154  Economy / Speculation / Re: HODLer Report from the Trenches on: February 09, 2018, 04:25:51 PM
Dear brave HODLer,

We take a moment to address you, after news has reached our ears of your brave efforts shoring up the order trenches on the continent. We fight this battle on multiple fronts. Beyond the Bamboo Curtain, dissidents have taken below ground, while across the ocean, Congress holds out an olive branch, though we expect their machines of war are still being prepared.

The permabulls are not our concern now, they do not come to aid, nor do they flee in distress. The only certainty is that they will come, whether in weeks, or months, we cannot say. Our former brothers in BeeCrash will be twisted with guilt and surprise - this is what many asked for, yet many more did not suspect the war to whittle at their numbers as well.

Make no mistake, you will be holed up for much longer, even if you make ground in the coming days. This is not a great push for debellatio, for there is no enemy to vanquish. Bears never die, they just sale away. This is not the war to end all wars, the First Conflict of 2013 taught us that. This is a battle of attrition, with the next ones belonging to today's survivors.

We pray that you and yours make it to the 100EMA staging area, it will be littered with buyby traps set by bears looking to rout you.

But if you do not, it is not lost.

With you, to the bidder end.

@buwaytress. Thank you for shedding some light on this.

Does this mean my BTC is lost forever?   Sad

Well... it depends. Were you the sender responsible for the original double spends from 1GT5ZVv4JAikNez31Sj1V2beCufWRgcbX8?

If it was really yours and you owned this address, then your 98++ BTC were successfully confirmed in this transaction:
https://bitaps.com/dc5935cded9e51d69f35042dae20b659553504ba2e5d5babe98853a19b5f4dcd

They're now mostly sitting at this address: 1C5ZnRqNpwajD2FkE61gFt48XxcUr7aAzs

As above, the txs you showed earlier were attempting to spend those funds.
16156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: February 09, 2018, 12:51:45 PM
The focus of this round is fiorentina VS Juventus.

Juventus have entered a particularly frightening period with 14 of their 15 games in 15 games, and Juventus are clearly more deserving.

Juventus let the hemisphere/the ball.

I can barely make out what you're saying, but okay if Juventus continue to play the way they have been recently, then sure, they're deserving of their wins. But Napoli is no less deserving. Huge respect for the Turin team, but I'd love for the underdogs to come out on top. My picks for this week:

1. Juventus to get a shock draw away to Fiorentina. The odds for a straight in are strangely 1.86, so I wonder if the bookies don't feel so confident. Maybe they'll want to take fewer risks with Spurs coming up in 5 days? I'll go for a +0.75 bet on Fiorentina @2.09

2. Napoli to secure a 2-1 win against Lazio. I'll risk a straight bet on Napoli @ 1.66, I'll just double up on next game if they lose.
16157  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What's the benefit of blockchain being interoperable? on: February 09, 2018, 12:39:03 PM
Another point is wallets. If blockchains are interoperable you could store as many currencies as you want in single wallet and exchange them on the fly from one to another. Sounds good to me Smiley

I´m not really sure if interoperability of blockchains is a requirement for this.

There are already wallets like Jaxx that support a lot of different cryptocurrencies:
https://jaxx.io/features.html

It sounds like a good point to me but not for storing multiple currencies, instead just having 1 crypto, say Bitcoin, that I could always use to send to someone else only willing to get paid in alts.

I could stick to using Jaxx or Coinomi or Exodus to store multiple crypto, but I'd still have to manage individual coins and private keys or worry about finding another "home" if the wallet stops supporting one of my coins (Like how Exodus dropped Dogecoin mid last year). Not to mention that I don't actually have the same confidence in those wallets - none of the ones I know are open source.

If true interoperability exists... then I could presumably just only own Bitcoin and still access alt-only services. If that's how it works, great!
16158  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Need an Escrow that handles Ethereum on: February 09, 2018, 12:30:53 PM
If you're still unsure about trusting an escrow agent (just because we do you don't have to), how about just using an open source escrow smart contract on Ethereum? If you don't mind following some basic technical instructions, localethereum.com is a good place to start. There's at least two other similar contracts out there but this one is pretty good with the instructions.

Side question: does anyone know of something similar for Bitcoin (without using multisig)?
16159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: DOUBLE SPEND FOUND on: February 09, 2018, 11:35:38 AM
Nothing you can do about this. It's not simply a double spend, but it looks like multiple spend attempts within seconds of each other, all trying to spend inputs which were already spent and confirmed in another transaction, it looks like a long chain of transactions. Bitcoin can only confirm transactions with confirmed inputs. Since these can never be confirmed, the transactions are considered invalid and will be eventually dropped from the network. Bitaps still has it, apparently.

Here are some of the other txs all trying to spend the same coins, all leading back to unconfirmed preceding txs or other, I didn't bother searching far behind:

16160  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why did satoshi develop bitcoin in windows? on: February 09, 2018, 07:55:09 AM
Bit of a far-flung theory, but I think it might have been a deliberate ploy to cover their tracks and keep their identity a mystery.  If it was someone closely connected to Unix development, but they didn't want people to connect the dots and discover they started Bitcoin, what better way to do it than to make the first version Windows-only?  Secure in the knowledge that if it was successful, it wouldn't take long for Bitcoin to migrate back to Unix, the spiritual home of open source.  Never underestimate Satoshi's brilliance and forward-thinking.

I don't think it's far flung at all and you're right, this to me is a perfect example of forward-thinking... that actually you might realise seems to remain with the bulk of Bitcoin core developers.

Satoshi were a group of highly intelligent people - near flawless communicational language, extremely sound coding. From the beginning, they were already keen to safeguard their identities and part of the strategy would have to include deliberate inconsistencies in character, to complicate any potential profiling they were sure to attract. I think using an OS more common for programmers is part of that obfuscation, and would have helped narrow down any such attempt.

It could also be practicality. If you wanted adoption beyond the confines of cypherpunkery you want Bob and Alice's PCs to be able to run the early clients.
