1621  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can a mega winner say no to public presentation? on: November 18, 2023, 05:29:19 PM
A casino would get publicity and more attention if they arranged a ceremony to announce a big win or a jackpot winner to the public because that is beneficial for their establishment, but the gambler should have the right to say no to such things if they find this being a security threat for them since there can be people who might go after the winner to get his money and no one can say that it is not going to happen because we live in a world where a person can be killed for merely a hundred dollar bill, that's how hard life has become on earth.

So, I'm not pretty sure if a casino offers extra money to a winner to accept their offer to publicly announce the winnings but I think they would ask the gambler if they are okay if they announce it publicly with their face and name or even arranging some ceremony and inviting the media for the coverage.

If both participants are allowed to do what's on their mind, the player won't accept the offer, while the casino would do anything possible to get the player to accept. Yet, it's very risky on the side of the player. It won't make him happy and may require him to have scary thoughts. The best way is for the casino to make an anonymous TV show, explaining how they paid out a whooping amount of money to a winner. Which they don't want to publicly share his details and personality. It'll still give them the publicity they want and also attract players who value privacy. We all live in a chaotic world of terrible events happening because of money. How would a person want to come out plain to show the world they've gotten that rich. It's not a type of development anyone would welcome. Unless the person's name won't be mentioned and with their face covered like the photo I saw above. It can be a bit bearable. Or if the casino insist on handing out the Cheque to the person on the day of the event. Then the player won't have any other reason not to attend. Aside that, no player, like myself, would accept such a proposal.
1622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: November 18, 2023, 05:09:27 PM
~snip~
There's a rehabilitation center for those addicted to every thing especially drugs and gambling related addiction, It is helpful to a person who don't have a family to take care of them and You're right! If a person is willing to get better, He will put his best to avoid every thing that may affects him to become obsess in a thing. It's easy to be said but we can't say that in order to become responsible gambler, people should learn to have a self control but in reality, once you're in the situation, You can't control it.
But help and support from the family is really needed by gambling and drug addicts because from there, they can see that their family will always be there for them and want to accompany them during their recovery period. Those who are addicted to gambling and drugs will also have the enthusiasm to continue to persevere during their recovery period, so perhaps this will speed up the therapy process because the addicted person will see that they have the opportunity to cure their addiction. They will not doubt themselves and can change things for the better. That is why the presence of his family can add to his enthusiasm for life because he sees that his family always accompanies him during therapy sessions and waits for him outside after he finishes his therapy period.

The issue is mainly recurrent issues, like being left behind as kids, not being attended to when they wanted something as a child. If they can be turned to believe that they're good enough, showing them, their idea matters etc. The gambler's sense of good humor will be restored. These are the few things that makes therapy easy for both the client and the therapist. In the sense that if the gambler who wants to quit is not allowed to express properly his feelings. He won't have a close relationship with the therapist. Also the therapist must also make effective responses to the ideas of the client. To make the client feel belonged and also open a space in his heart to see the therapist as his friend. Once this is achieved the whole process of changing a gambler gets simpler. If his family is caring enough to follow him to his therapy sessions it'll be a good move. Just to be sure he's going there. But, it's still rare to find such a caring home. Most families barely care about being this kind. And it worsens the gambler's situation. It also gets worse when the therapist doesn't know the right question and answers that'll bring the gambler to trust him with their problems. And open up to discuss further about how it all began. But, if he's lucky enough to find one that asks contributing questions that can change the perspective of the gambler to a better one. Then, the gambler will do his best to change and become a better person for his family and friends.
1623  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Letting the cat out of the bag on: November 18, 2023, 04:45:25 PM
Remember a secret shared is no more a secret but it is now a public information. Even though the person has not broadcast it in the public but for the fact that the information is not with you again it is a public information. And this not the first time this has been discussed that it is not easy to convince an addicted gamblers to leave gambling. And that should be a rigorous process to go about it because if you used force then you could spoiled everything for the process.

If the person goes out to casino centers to gamble then you can invite the person to your house and prepare a delicious meal for him and discuss with him to stop gambling and after the discussion, you gave the him small cash to buy things he likes because most of those addicted gamblers are doing it because of hunger and unemployment. Though you can't help him like that forever so if possible look for job for him to do to earn money monthly.

The idea of being kind to the gamblers is also a great one, as they lack the love from society and family. Everyone wants to stay clear from them and wouldn't want to associate with an addict. But that's really wrong. Most of them for into deeper trouble in life, due to the ill treatment they get from loved ones. With your idea of inviting them to our homes and offering them good relationship can alter their compulsive gambling thoughts to a better reason in life. They could begin visiting the house once a while. But, what could be the fate of the player or you when he goes back to gamble with the funds you've offered them. Trying to fix them into a business or job when they're not yet free from addiction is very risky. Because when they make things difficult for the company, messing with their funds, it can derail your reputation for referring such a nuisance into their business. The goal remains trying to change them first, by providing any possible alternative, that can keep them away from gambling. Or visiting gambling shops. It could be channeled to video games or its type. Although, it's quite expensive to do that for somebody, but the whole process worth it, and he'll always be grateful to have known a person like you. Who volunteered to make out the best in them.
1624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streamer wins seem too good on: November 18, 2023, 04:31:32 PM
It shouldn't be surprising to anybody who follows or reads about the behind the scene occurrence between the streamers and the casino. Many aged players and young people fall for these streamers and click through their affiliates links showing huge discounts to con them into signing into the casino they promote. A lot of the said casinos they promote ain't promising to beginners and most times are illicit. I mean don't meet the supposed requirements for a responsive online casino. However, the streamers make lots of profits from the casino they promote. Pays ranging from tens to hundreds thousands of dollars. Due to the enormous traffic they generate for the casino. The wins is what causes the deceit. The fastest way to con people is by giving them a too good to be true offer. They'll be controlled by their emotions to be rich and fall for such casinos. Though, the results are manipulated, but everyone knows it. Even the streamers in different interviews with news channels like WIRED mention that the casino fund them to stream games. The problem with their viewers is that they expect to see similar results, which tend to be impossible. Because what they see is a contract deal and the casino, like you said know their workers and would make their results far too good for everyone that watches to feel intrigued to join gambling. And, naive people would at least want to make lots of money.
1625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gambling and Invest in gambling. on: November 18, 2023, 03:30:42 PM
You're not exactly investing in gambling itself; rather, you're investing in gamblers. It's somewhat akin to being a loan shark, observing them play. When they run out of funds, you step in to offer cash, likely with a higher interest rate given the high-risk nature of the loan.

It's commendable that you ensure proper risk management by requiring collateral. It seems like a lucrative business, especially since gamblers may be tempted to try their luck again, especially after a tough gambling session when they're eager to bounce back.

Every business is risky, but in some casinos this would be riskier. As you don't know the stuff the person you're dealing with is made of, I've thought of the possibility of running such a business. Yet in most cases where the gambler takes a loan and after playing for long wins exactly the amount that can be used to pay back the loan. How would they feel? like they're doing the gambling for their lender to profit. Some other players may be too dull to pay back the loaned money as, it'll turn to serious argument and quarrel. The only good aspect of such a business is asking for a collateral, instead of money. This will make the player to pay back, to be able to get their property back. In all, It's a nice initiative, and he already knows where he'll get his target audience.

But I'm curious how do you do it? Will you offer it to those who gamble at the casino or will you rent a shop near the casino that provides fast disbursement loan services?
If a gambler gives a loan, he will gamble again with that money because his intention will be to recover his previous losses with that money and then return the loan money and gamble again with his dividends to make a bigger capital.  But these remain only dreams for them as things never go according to plan. Gambling never guarantees winning, so gambling with your own money or gambling with a loan is risky.  But if you gamble with your own money and lose, you don't have to answer to anyone.  However, if you lose by playing on loan, you have to be accountable for it

I think he can have a legal team, to handle anything that requires disagreement in the business. Definitely it'll be on the rise, but if he manages well the business will grow real fast. Also allowing the gamblers enough time to pay back their debt is cool and restricting them from abusing the loan. I mean targeting people who can't manage their emotions is a bad idea. It's like taking advantage of their vulnerability, which is not a good way to do business. Even at the law court, with a good lawyer, they can have a good stand in winning a case. For instance, targeting an addict, to make profits out of his problems. He'll definitely fall for the deal, but what happens when the person isn't able to pay back and decides to give up life. Wouldn't it be a bigger problem at the end of the OP. He'd be on losing side and most people would blame him for lending out the money knowing that the person is an addict, who can't control his emotions.
1626  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Letting the cat out of the bag on: November 18, 2023, 03:02:39 PM
I've never helped anyone who was addicted in gambling to stop his addiction and I don't think I can even help anyone do it because as far as I'm concerned, the only person who can stop a gambling addict from his addiction is the affected person. I've been a victim of gambling addiction before and no one was able to help me out of it until when I decided to help myself.

So True.. Addiction is not a joke, whatever addiction it is. No one can help the addicted people, untill the addicted people decides to help himself.
But while self-determination plays a crucial role in the recovery process, external support and intervention can make a significant difference in encouraging and guiding individuals towards seeking help and navigating the path to recovery. This needs expert, of course.

Social environment has big affection towards addicted people, if he want to recover from the addiction, he need to walk away form the place he live in, and find a better social environment. This is why play pivotal role in the recovery. Their love, understanding, and consistent encouragement can be a powerful force in helping individuals embark on the path to recovery.

Our environment is what keeps us in addiction, changing to a different zone can only be effective in some kinds of addiction. If a person is already in severe gambling addiction he may not be cured by traveling out of his environment. He needs a medical practitioner to help change his life through emotional techniques. Which helps the gambler to understand, he's truly in pain. And that the doctor can help him out of such pain. Whenever the addicted person decides to meet an expert, his problems becomes half solved. Where the problem sleeps is when the addicted person, doesn't have in mind what's actually their problem. They still enjoy the habit of gambling addiction. Such that, their mental health, despite being hurt, still claim to derive joy in gambling. It's like enjoying something that hurts at same time. The process will be difficult to quit. But, once the person is getting back to their senses and creating a routine that can work for them, in limiting their bad habit. The journey to change starts coming to light. The problem never gets solved, when kept secret. Saying it out, is also a good remedy in sunning the problem in the light, for others to see and contribute ways of solving them. Nobody would care if people doesn't know what's actually happening in the life of a gambling addict. Those who tend to stop and control themselves to become free from addiction are really strong people. I must commend you, Docnaster, for breaking free all by yourself. It is never easy to change people. The techniques required is not simple. Most times in trying to change them, the whole problem would worsen as the addicted person would begin to think we are the cause of their problems.
1627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The most important thing in a betting site on: November 17, 2023, 11:44:21 PM
When it comes to finding the right betting site for me, the most important things are definitely knowing I can trust them with my money, having confidence the games are not rigged, and being absolutely certain the odds are legit and fair across the board.  Of course fast payouts matter too - no one wants to wait forever to get their winnings! But for me it is really about being able to relax and enjoy the entire experience without any worries from the moment I sign up to the second the money hits my account after a withdrawal.  I want a smooth, seamless betting journey that gives me total peace of mind from start to finish.  At the end of the day, that sense of security and fairness is priceless in this industry.

knowing that your games are not getting cheated is almost impossible. But, finding a casino that guarantees that you games are fair, is quite understand and preferable. That one that doesn't care about that in the first place. I'm among players that focus mainly on the provably fair system of any casino I'd want to patronize. Because of the importance of doing  things right and getting the value we spend money and time for. Like I said, in my first response, those other ones are secondary. Provided that our money gets across to us, if we ain't confortable with the delay the player can move ahead to use other casino. But, how to figure out they're cheating on the result is quite difficult. And we'd continue playing thinking that we are not good enough. It kills the time and resources of the player, which is the worst experience as a gambler; getting rigged results.
1628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: November 17, 2023, 11:23:13 PM
...

Gambling addiction is like a drug, sometimes can even be worst and causes problems to everyone around you. I think there are levels of additcion. Some people cannot function if they dont bet,the addition gets worst when you start borrowing money to gamble. So the saying is true dont gamble with the money you cannot afford to lose. When addition gets serious and like you said you lose a lot of money and you dont have a way out people due suicide and it is important that people go to therapy and try and cure themselfs once things go out of control.

That's very true, that addiction has levels and not all gambling addicts are at the highest level, so when you feel that the gambling you are doing and maybe someone close to you knows is getting worse, you have to stop and try to cure it, if if you continue to let it happen then the one who loses is yourself, currently, there are many non-profit communities that can be a place of healing for gambling addicts, come there and focus on your healing because being a gambling addict is not good, your life will be ruined and your morals will be damaged, winning at gambling is delicious but losing at gambling can destroy your mentality and thoughts.

Gambling is great, but abusing it isn't. Those addicts, abuse gambling just like drug. We tend to get a bad body response when we abuse anything in life. Gambling shouldn't be exempted. The behavior of gambling addicts in the society is becoming alarming and players must take diligent decisions to avoid being a victim. They have brought bad publicity for gambling in the society. These reasons have made lots of people to have ill thoughts about any gambler they've met. Not knowing that the concept of gambling is different from what they see in addicts. Close friends and families of an addict, rough handle them because they don't comprehend ways to cure them. They think the person is continuously gambling out of his will, but it's a lie. It's a mental disorder and he should be treated accordingly to save the family from further stress in future. They is already a high rate of suicide caused by addiction. Why didn't their family pay close attention to last few behaviors of their ward before he gave up his life. When things do not sit right with people, they look for ways to make money. And because they see few friend who win bucks in gambling. They'll rush to try it, and fail to understand the rules applicable to gambling. Which helps to reduce addiction. After wasting their own money, they'll borrow to play gambling. Most suicide cases, shows that gamblers who ended their life did that do escape paying back the loan they gambled with. It's a difficult situation in the society today. Like a plague it's growing everyday, amongst adults and teenagers. Therefore people must be careful not become victims by following the rules of gambling; playing with spare cash. And not getting too attached to it.
1629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What I've learned so far as a gambler on: November 17, 2023, 10:57:38 PM
Doesn't really matter if the reason you go to the casino is to have fun while earning and it might be a good thing to stop when you're ahead but it's hard to stop when you go to there to have fun and instantly doubled your money the first thing you do. If you're okay with it then go cash it out but if you want to have fun, then you continue gambling and try to earn more even with small bets.
Also, I beg to disagree about gambling is statistically impossible to win rather the probability of you maintaining your winnings while playing longer drop lower the longer you play but it isn't impossible.
I still don't know why many people keep telling us that the major reasons why they go to casinos is to have fun. Does it means that they don't need money too just for the fun alone. We all want to make more money added to the one we have. The reason why many people keep gambling is to increase their portfolio so that their profits will keep increasing. As we are betting everytime and making profits, there are things we need to learn and understand about the way we bet and some other things we can do to improve the way we bet and how to stay safe without becoming an addict.

The reason people insist on going to the casino to have fun is because if they don't go there for fun, they'll go home angry. Those players who go to casino for money are victims of anger after spending time in the casino, with no money in their pocket. When we go to watch football in the stadium, it's for fun. We don't expect any money in return after paying for a seat. Same is applicable to gambling. The money aspect of it, is what keeps the fun going and helps us to think better. Not that they don't want to make more money through gambling. But, it's not guaranteed that they'll win. Instead of having money in mind as their primary aim, it's better to convert that particular thought to become fun. How do you intend to increase your profits through gambling, when nothing actually works the way we think, in gambling. Except on a situation like Op said, playing poker with an inexperienced player. The techniques and skills related to gambling can only work for some times, but won't guarantee steady winning. Any day we win big, it'll be an additional fun to us, which makes gambling different from other kinds of leisure games.
1630  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Enjoy being a newbie on: November 17, 2023, 10:12:01 PM
Unfortunately, this forum is not "newbie-friendly".

I am very sorry to say that, but High ranked members usually mock or disrespect if a newbie raises an opinion.
This way new members get discouraged to participate, and of course this means that knowledge sharing might be less as well...
Being discouraged and not being respected will of course have a reason for this treatment. But it won't be done completely without reason because you are just a beginner. there are many beginners who also get full appreciation from high ranking members for their good knowledge and not being too hypocritical. Saying this forum is not beginner friendly means you still don't have enough metal to face what's even worse, this is only the beginning friends, you still have a long way to go, because if you take it for granted you give up, that's wrong.

His opinion may not define his future in the forum, he's actually responding to what he has received in the forum. Yes, it's true, but isn't it enjoyable on the long run? When you look back and remember those days of criticisms from high ranked members you'd laugh about it. The forum is not against such criticism, members can say anything as long as it tallies with the aim of the thread. I'm beginning to see less of those responses. don't know if it's only newbies that get to see them in the forum. Yet saying that knowledge sharing is less, phonakAG, is a wrong statement. It's impossible to see an opinion that gets more than two critic response from top ranked members. Others will still share their opinion with the newbie and encourage him to improve. The issue most time is that newbies try to move faster than they should. Thereby, making blunders that will ignite being mocked by other members. I'd also use this opportunity to say, you should hang on, soon those responses won't be appearing on your screen anymore. The fun part of it, remains that high rank members don't mean to criticize your opinion. The truth is that they use it as a way to laugh and feel a bit happy. As though it's always funny to come across those responses, especially when it's directed to somebody else. No one would be happy to see it directed to them. As a newbie if you have the right response that is reasonably funny, you can send them back to the critic. Don't take them to heart, it's just a forum itch.
1631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are there fewer women Than men involved in Bitcoin? on: November 17, 2023, 09:12:49 PM
I think we have to go back in time and follow a historical approach to it. When were women allowed to go to school, participate in elections, work and earn money? Women started participating in most crucial aspect of life few hundred years after civilization. Technically, their brain isn't expected to think like men do in these part of life. Women were told to focus more on house keeping and training children. Hence, in the growth of their brain, it'll take longer until women begin to take monetary risk like men. Same can be applicable to bitcoin, it's a new idea and before women begin to venture into it, more decades would pass. Although, I see women heading most crypto projects and organizing cryptocurrency conferences for women. And these women are mostly the few women we can see in the computer science department. For instance, in the university, the computer science department can have about 10 women and 200 men. And it remains like that across many other universities. Not all of them can understand software development, how would they involve in something they don't know about. Added with the fact that in the society women spend time with fellow women than men. Who would influence them to do what they're into today. A lot of female programmers, I've met, were influenced by their male friends or brothers. While the whooping number of female nurses were influenced by their mothers to study nursing. Hence, the point remains that you can't give what you don't have. Because their mothers whom they listen to and spend time with advice them on the career to follow, they'll definitely follow that route. Generations to generations it'll keep repeating itself, because of the long time denial women faced in the society.
1632  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can a mega winner say no to public presentation? on: November 17, 2023, 08:47:29 PM
The disadvantage is on the player, while the advantage is on the casino. Players to avoid being known by family and friends to have such an amount of money, should avoid going public to announce their win on interviews. Insecurity in most parts of the world, is increasing, hence our privacy should be a top priority. Winning such an amount is great, but not a type to celebrate with the public. Because when they find out, they'll help the winner in finishing their funds. Congrats to him for winning big with little amount of money.
1633  Economy / Economics / Re: Small Scale Business Ideas on: November 17, 2023, 07:54:50 PM

These kind of shops generates customers easily, but the competition is too much. I noticed that the business owners, also have their loyal customers. Despite having such a similar shop selling same thing at same price, each of them have specific people that purchase from them. Now, in the bad economy, this type of shops give out their products to those loyal customers on credit. Especially those who live close to the store. Thereby, making them more loyal to the store and expanding their number of customers. But, while in business, it's important to diversify. I know everyone needs those groceries everyday and they buy it. Offering a business that helps them process those raw foods purchased from the shops is a great business move. Most people enter business because others do, and end up winding it up. While in search of a small business idea, we must observe the needs of people living around the environment or the type of audience interested in buying the product. For instance, where timbers are sold, we should think of providing a chain saw machine to the environment, because they must need it. Instead, of joining the masses in selling timbers, opening a place where the timbers are being cut into different sizes would earn us good profits. Providing the needs of the store owners is very crucial in boosting our profits. Another instance, is opening a shopping bag store close to the shops where food stuffs are sold. The sellers need the bag to package goods for customers and the more they make sales the better the profits of the bag seller. It only requires some time, until the whole sellers, in the vicinity, begin to patronize the business.

Yes it is like that, even shops like this around my house are not just one so indeed shops like this have fierce competition, as I said by differentiating prices a little cheaper then they will pursue shops that have cheaper prices even though the price difference is very small it can affect their marketing. also this shop will have loyal customers like you said, they will shop because it is convenient at an affordable price.  With basic needs every day, it is possible that a shop like this will not be extinguished by always providing basic necessities that will definitely be sold every day. But of course there will also be definite risks, by managing it well it doesn't matter, even if you can manage it well it could be faster to reopen a gerosir shop or grocery store in another place because as I said there is the potential to grow quickly because by differentiating prices a little cheaper than other stores.

Reducing prices is great way of getting more customers. When the next shops increase prices and it's important to maintain the company price. And still offer quality products. It'll yield more trust from buyers and fetch new customers. The new customers we should expect are those who don't feel right about the prices other shops provide and wants to check elsewhere. But, they're customers that believes, since this shops sells at this rate, that shop would also sell at same rate. Unless someone tells them about getting same product and quality at a cheaper rate in the other shop. What I mean is that the loyal customers of the other shop owners still wouldn't mind buying at their favorite shop owner's shop. But the cheaper shop would definitely gain more customers in the street where they reside. Expanding quickly; building more in different province would be detrimental to the growth of the business. The growth of such shops still take years to get to a big sized shop like a mini super market. When running such a business it'll be great to hold tight the environment we started and win them over for years. Then establish a new one elsewhere, when we are sure about the solidity of the first shop. Thereby building the next one with the income the first one generates. And maximizing profits due to the increase in demands. Or maybe selling some products from the first in the new one. That would be a better idea and also reduce the risk of losses.
1634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you bet on when your league is in break? on: November 17, 2023, 07:21:45 PM
So what's your experience with this. When your league is in break, do you tend to try to follow other leagues that you're familiar with, or will you gamble on anything really? I'm interested to hear what other people have to say in this matter.
As leagues go on break for the players to rest, the break is also for gamblers to rest too. When your favorite league to bet on is on break, you can take that time as a time to rest and steer clear from gambling. You do not need to gamble always or have alternative games to gamble on, there should be times when you give yourself a break so you do not become too addicted to gambling that you lose control of yourself. These break times in leagues is an opportunity for that.
That is it mate, I don't see why one would want to play gambling when the favorites sport games are on break,  I think this is the time when one needs to go on break too in gambling.  Gambling is not a do or  a die affair,  people just need to only play games that they are familiar with and not to force themselves on gambling to make money from it by or means. Despite that gambling is unpredictable people still needs to play bet on sport that they are well familiar with and not to play gambling with a blank knowledge concerning sport.

It is not a must people must force themselves by all means to make money from gambling,  forcing oneself on gambling can be very easy way of losing money expecially on game not familiar with.

Definitely you are good, but not every gambler would love playing a single game. Even sport players sometimes are good at football and basketball at same time. Meaning that people are rational and can be good in different things. Hence, not every player rest when their league is on break. They still go home to practce with friends or play other sports to keep fit. Gambling is fun and most times when we gamble and stop gambling for months. It'll keep us away from the ideas we've got in gambling steadily. Not saying we shouldn't take a rest. But, taking it for so long till the league is right back. Can affect our gambling techniques. Since, the part of our brain that helps our critical thinking in making the right gambling decision would be weak and won't function like when it's practicing often. If a person isn't familiar with other ongoing sport games, they can exercise their brain with slot games. It's still helpful. Gambling is a form of resting, can a person take a break from resting? The fact it's unpredictable still gives us upper hands in gambling in other games which we have little or no experience in analyzing them. The decision is still on who's going to win or lose. And the fact that we still lose while playing on games we are familiar with, makes it possible that we can win on games with ain't used to playing. Nobody knows who's going to be right. Whether the experienced or not. In a nutshell, we should always keep up with what our minds is comfortable doing.

One day in a gambling shop I saw an old man come in the room, I had this same thought. But wasn't sure what the right answer would be in the future. As nobody can predict it. The question in quote is a gamble. Hopefully, don't wish to get too attached into gambling,  yet gambling at that age depends on the changes that may have been instituted into the industry. Will they still be offline casino or everyone would do that online? because old people prefer offline casino and enjoy the fun of gambling while retired and earning stipends from the government or whoever is their boss. Spending months in hotels, enjoying comps from their casino comps group. If these type of gambling still exist then, I'd definitely keep in touch with gambling as a way of keeping the brain busy, at old age. Not sure they'll be room for retirement in gambling at my end. Most works I've read, centers that old age is quite a nice time to play gambling. The health benefits; critical thinking. Keeping the brain busy at all times, figuring out the next odd to play. Helps the elderly men to still respond to issues of life, intelligently. At same time socializing with younger generations and gaining relevant information about the era. If everything falls in place as planned, I'm definitely in to enjoy my gambling habit.
Your take on gambling as a way to stay mentally and socially active in old life is intriguing. Yes, gambling can improve critical thinking and socialization. The financial side is a double-edged sword. What about alternatives that offer equal cognitive and social benefits without financial risks? Think about group activities like bridge or mahjong, where strategy and social interaction are key.

Technology is also evolving quickly. You said that online platforms may change older generations' predilection for physical casinos. Imagine a future where online gambling systems are as immersive and sociable as casinos. This would meet the changing tastes of the elderly and be convenient.

Gambling can be fun and mentally stimulating, but its important to be careful and examine other options. Mixing gambling with intellectual and social activities may make it safer and more enjoyable as you age.

One thing I can remember about the aged men, is that they love to go out once in a while to socialize with old time activities. People tend to go back to that which they're good at, while they were young. At old age and during my young days, I wasn't an active player of mahjong like you mentioned. It'll be difficult to fall back to enjoying such a game. But, I get the concept of your message. Yet such games can still require gambling since it's a board game involving 2 players. It still helps the brain to advance in thoughts and stay very active. Talking about technology, we already know the importance of following the technology trend. As none can say for sure what new idea will skyrocket and take over the gambling world. Depending on the  nature of the world. If it became a world where people are required to only stay in doors due to climate change or virus circulating outside the society. But, in a world where such things doesn't exist, people must go out to have fun and socialize. As staying indoor isn't all that fun. Despite how good the technology moves to make things look fun on computers. Human beings enjoy seeing and communicating with each other physically. When under control of the funds and they're sufficient to handle the gambling habit, it's encouraging to have one gambling to participate in, while enjoy our old age. What matters a lot is having a good health.

Your story brings an important but often overlooked fact about addiction. The person behind the thing or action, not just the thing or action itself. Although drugs and gambling are different, they are both about losing control and wanting to escape. What this means is that drug users seem more careful with their money than gamblers. Could the fun of gambling be greater than the value of the money, unlike drug use, where the cost is always there? It says a lot that the recovered addict is afraid of gambling addiction. That's not all. There's also healing and the fear of going back to using drugs. Addiction affects the mind in all of its forms. This gambler's death shows how dangerous addiction can be. This story about people is about grief, battle, and sometimes effects that can't be undone.

The story depends on how the changed addict suffered while in addiction. It's never easy to be an addict. Whether gambling or drug. Both goes hand in hand for some people. Comparing them, isn't necessary, because while concluding on a fact, using one person's experience isn't enough. Many people have done crazy things out of addiction. Be it gambling or drugs. Mainly when it's related to money. Drug requires money to purchase at all cost. And the price is fixed, unlike in gambling. The addict can change the amount they play everyday, depending on their bank roll. But if a drug addict isn't equipped with the amount his substance costs he can't get it. Hence, he'll have to do anything possible to get on his substance. If addiction is rated by stages, drug addiction is higher than gambling addiction. As gambling addict can move ahead to become a drug addict. And it's rare to find a drug addict, that goes back to gamble. They'll be lost in the confusion that drug brings. While battling with friends and money too. Gambling addicts barely have a click of friends who are addicts, unlike drug addicts who always have other friends they can hang out with and do drugs. Which also lands them into bigger troubles like going out to rob and do illicit businesses. One addiction can lead to another. Why the person in a way is right about being happy about not being a drug addict, is because he's known that even when you escape the drug addiction. It's almost impossible to escape the drug friends, they got while living the bad life.

The most important thing in an online casino is Provably fair. It's crucial to check that a casino's provably fair is enabled, so that you'd know the house is not taking a complete advantage on the results you get. Although, I've read that some of the casinos still have ways of manipulating the provably fair system. Yet a casino that doesn't have one, isn't a good casino for anybody. Other secondary things like customer services and online reputation are great too, as it'll help to know what kind of casino we are staking games. The casino's time duration; how long they've been in the gambling system is important. As going for a fresh established casino isn't a good idea. Since the reports and reviews about them isn't yet good enough to trust or make them reliable. I'll hardly recommend a new casino to anyone. Payment methods are good too, having different means of depositing and withdrawing our funds are great too, as not everyone would prefer to go with cards or paypal. So, having everyone in mind is an important part of a nice casino to patronize. On the player's end, the need to make these research ourselves is great. Reading their TOS works just fine, not to be a victim in future.

Is there perhaps a way to try to start another business that would be connected exclusively to fiat and thus have two parallel sources of income, so that you can keep most of the BTC for the long term?

There are multiple ways of doing that, but the risk now doubles, because both businesses will suck the generated BTC leaving me with almost little or no BTC. I've tried it myself, as it's the only way out, which I can think about. Hence, I'd need to get pass 3 stages, first would be setting up the fiat business with BTC. Second, working until the fiat focused business never needs btc to run smoothly. Third, the fiat business gets enough money to invest back into the bitcoin business. All these stages can be achieved with few extra hands, then extra years. I could remember building a fiat business in the social media niche, which was growing. But, due to the too much complaints of customers about the rendered services not being good enough. I had to kill the business. And since then I've never built any fiat business with the kind of potential that the above mentioned business had. So, it leaves me with no doubts about the possibility of doing same thing again. Maybe in a different angle. At least as the producer of the product. One thing that made me stop building the fiat business in the past, is that I wasn't the producer, It was a reselling business. I had no power to change or make efforts to provide the quality my customers complained about or wanted. It left me with no option than to quit it.

In that case, you are in a dilemma as to what brings you more profit - investing the Bitcoin you earn or just holding? Let's take an example if you invested in Bitcoin about 1 year ago when the price was just above $15 000 and if you didn't do anything with that BTC from then until today, you would have more than 100% profit in a very short period of time.

The question arises whether you could have earned more in that period if you had invested the same BTC in your business? Of course, the price of Bitcoin is volatile, but it still somewhat follows a four-year cycle, and those who invested following that pattern were already able to profit very nicely, and if they are patient, they could profit much more.

If we were to go back even further into the past, those who invested in BTC before the great bull run of 2017, and sold during the next bull run, certainly earned as much money as they would not have earned in their entire lives, unless they were among those rare people who they have revolutionary ideas and know how to monetize them.

Yeah, it's definitely not an easy decision for me, due to my experience during the previous years. Your idea is both ways, but would want to look it from a fiat generating business perspective. If I had a fiat generating business and invested in bitcoin with those fiat it's a different kind of move compared to when the business generates the bitcoin and when I don't touch the money generated for 1 year, the business won't run anymore, as an example. During those periods of risks I will generate more running the business, compared to what the specific hodled bitcoin will give me in return. Lets say things are bring sorted out like my bills during those period and I have no reason to touch the hodled bitcoin. I'd have more money to show than running the business. Since during the 1 year of running the business it eats up the money too. If you grasp this illustration, you'd see the difference; running the business generates more money, but leaves little money to show, but holding the bitcoin for 1 year would leave me with enough money to show. This entails that the bitcoin doesn't require any more expense for it to grow. While the business requires steady expenses for it to stay relevant. Hence, it's a typical way of saying that the money spent is used in purchasing customers. Because the more the business is functional and maintained, customers increases. Money increases too, but decrease faster, due to maintenance. Then, in terms of the bitcoin profits the higher the hodled bitcoin the bigger the reward in the bull run. That's why I mentioned about the thoughts of seeing how much our long spent bitcoin had become today. If the fiat business was there to supplement, then the profits in bitcoin would have been enormous.
