1621  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] whirlwind.money | Redefining Mixing | Signature Campaign ~Up to $150/week on: March 29, 2023, 04:30:50 AM

Clearnet link will be online in the following days, please use the Tor version for now.
whirlwind.money is online, but they try to avoid using cloudflare/ddos guar, which means they might have a hard time getting rid of DDOS if the site becomes popular.
Either they have a team to deal with this headache or the site will be a gateway to Tor just as chipmixer did in its last days.

Clearnet version is online at whirlwind.money. Please keep in mind that we are not using cloudflare/ddos guard and never will since we believe it's inappropriate for a platform of this type (regardless if we assume the end-user takes proper security precautions), so the clearnet link may be down at times. We implemented a custom protection, but there is only so much you can do without a CDN. If the clearnet link is unavailable please use the Tor version, there shouldn't be any issues with that at any point unless we announce maintenance beforehand.

1622  Bitcoin / Legal / Canada Requires Pension Funds to Disclose Crypto Risks on: March 29, 2023, 04:24:53 AM
Quote
Canada's national government said federally regulated pension funds in the country will need to disclose their crypto assets exposure to the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI), as Ottawa tightens its regulatory oversight on the volatile industry.

"To help protect Canadians’ retirements, Budget 2023 announces that the government will require federally regulated pension funds to disclose their crypto-asset exposures to OSFI," the government said in the new 2023 budget plan. The federal government will also work with provinces and territories to discuss crypto-asset or related activities disclosures by the country's largest pension plans, which would ensure Canadians are aware of their pension plan’s potential exposure to crypto assets, the budget plan added.

Why have so many governments become so serious about crypto investments? It all started in the United States and is now in Canada.
Is it all because of FTX?

1623  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: You should write two copies of your seed phrase. on: March 29, 2023, 03:53:52 AM
like a natural disaster.
I created this thread a while ago, it will be useful in case of earthquakes  Is Metal Seed Storage Safe in an Earthquake? .

The problem of creating more than one wallet seed with earthquakes is in distributing them, you will be forced to keep one of them away from you or your home and perhaps your geographical area, which increases the risk that someone else will be able to know it.

is remembering 12 words that hard?
It is especially difficult, and with the ease of using technology in everything, our dependence on our brains has become less. I do not remember my keys easily, but supposing it is easy, there are problems beyond your control. I will quote some of them from o_e_l_e_o:

Each year:

69 million traumatic brain injuries: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29701556/
12 million strokes: https://www.world-stroke.org/assets/downloads/WSO_Global_Stroke_Fact_Sheet.pdf
10 million new diagnoses of dementia: https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/dementia
5 million new diagnoses of epilepsy: https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/epilepsy
2.5 million cases of meningitis: https://www.path.org/articles/toward-world-without-meningitis/
2 million new brain tumors: https://academic.oup.com/noa/article/3/1/vdaa178/6043315
1.5 million cases of encephalitis: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0163445322002110

That's each year, and that's only major conditions which directly affect the brain.

1624  Economy / Speculation / Re: [POLL] MtGox distribution, early payment or full payment? on: March 29, 2023, 03:38:27 AM
With the mtgox distribution constantly being pushed back, it’s possible they aren’t getting enough people registering for payment distributions to meet their expectations. This leads me to believe the final BTC payout if you wait could be much higher than the early lump sum payout. Would you wait and try to get the most BTC possible or select early payout to get this behind you?

You will not get a clear answer to this question, and some may choose to get cash now and have logical reasons such as:

  • Investment in Bitcoin was purely serendipitous.
  • Does not believe in the future value of Bitcoin.
  • Doubts that he will get anything in the future.
  • Changes may occur in the future that make waiting a long time.
  • Needs cash now.
  • Buys Bitcoin at the current price and invests it instead of waiting for a long time (a bird in the hand, not 10 in the tree)
  • Doesn't like stress or being in a long process.

you will get many logical reasons form the same person, given that the reasons above may differ from one person to another, and we cannot blame someone for choosing one of these things.
1625  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Seeking Advice from the Community! My Experience with AppleBitcoins.com on: March 27, 2023, 02:20:19 AM
Are you serious about risking more than $500 to get a 15% discount?
Domain name alone is enough to raise doubts, the website design does not look professional, and if they deliver the first order, you will be scammed at some point.

The pictures on the site are all from the internet, and there is no pictures from their store.
They do not display legal data or commercial registration number.
A clear policy in the event of defects or refunds.
Paying in Bitcoins only is another reason to raise suspicion, they try to disguise themselves by avoiding accepting PayPal or any other reversible payment method.
Exaggerated discounts are another reason to be suspicious.
1626  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any problems with *CHIPMIXER* coins? on: March 26, 2023, 06:09:28 PM
Who? I only found OmegaStarScream,
During the past week, 4 staff members were deleted from two different mixer campaigns at the same time, and I don't think they were removed because of the quality of their posts as two of the members were advertising for one of the campaigns for more than a month.

It's assumptions and I may be obsessed with what happened, maybe I should stay away from thinking about this case. Grin

I started to see some members of the forum avoiding joining mixer campaigns and suddenly, in the same week, all staffs who were wearing mixers signatures stopped at same week and did not try to join any other mixing predictions campaign, so did I miss something?

Bitcoin have 2 downtimes (CVE-2010-5139 https://www.cvedetails.com/cve/CVE-2010-5139/ and CVE-2013-322 https://www.cvedetails.com/cve/CVE-2013-3220/ ) which make it has  99.98812348% Uptime.
or 100% uptime since 2014 but not "NO DOWN TIME"

1629  Economy / Service Discussion / Any problems with *CHIPMIXER* coins? on: March 19, 2023, 09:47:55 AM
YAh, another topic about mixers.
*My friend* has some coins that were mixed during the past years, moved them into cold storage, and he wants to sell them in the future.
Are there any complaints about closing KYCed accounts, tax reports or problems that resulted from depositing ChipMixer mixed coins? Specifically after ChipMixer.com has been seized.

1630  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Bitcoin Uptime 99.98812348% | 10 years continuous uptime! on: March 17, 2023, 02:22:11 PM

What makes you think it's an alternative account?
Does anyone know if he was arrested or not? Do the local authorities cooperate in such crimes or not?

Hello guys i need your help please
i was creating a seed with https://iancoleman.io/bip39/
it shows me some keys i dont understand....
What are you trying to get from your use of that code? If you want to create a wallet, creating it using Electrum is easier and better. You can use to claim forked coins and convert seed /find private key of different BIP standards.

1633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let them make the choice of bitcoin on: March 09, 2023, 02:05:33 PM
the problem does not lie in investing in Bitcoin, but rather when, everyone gets upset when prices rise and starts buying and fears when prices fall and panic prevails.
Convincing people is easy when they see people earning money without making it difficult, and difficult when stories start that there are people who lost their money, so it is a matter of timing, when to buy and when to sell.

FTX owes less than 0.1% of customers BTC. Honestly, I can't believe how the financial position of this platform has collapsed in this way.
1635  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: BTCPayServer adds CoinJoin plugin, but there's a catch on: February 28, 2023, 07:10:12 PM

Here is the rub, however: they will use Wasabi coordinator as their default coordinator.
When you say default coordinator, it means that there is an option for the user to choose other coordinators, or at least there will be.

Quote
The main coordinator run by ZKSnacks submits inputs to a chain surveillance firm.
Are these claims true? How can a privacy-enhancing service provide data to parties trying to reveal identity?
1636  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is the Binance the next to bite the dust or FUD? on: February 28, 2023, 06:46:23 PM
Am I the only one who'd like to see Binance disappear? They've scammed users, and they're pretending all kinds of centralized made-up tokens are "Bitcoin" to increase their own wealth. Bitcoin and Bitcoin users are better off without Binance.
We all may want it, and will it be regular or random? Based on Proof of Reserves, Binaance owns 250,597 bitcoins, which is four times what happened when Luna crashed, not to mention the impact of the platform and its investments, which means that the impact on the price will continue for several years, not months.

supporting competitors and having strong competition is the solution.
1637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How do peers of bitcoin type confirm transactions? on: February 27, 2023, 03:51:49 PM
-What duties must a node perform in order to be regarded a complete network node?
you can run full node software on any hardware but running it on weak hardware, may cuz some problems, so you need Minimum HW requirements and stable internet connection.
you may find more here https://github.com/bitcoinbook/bitcoinbook/blob/develop/ch03.asciidoc

Regarding the question in the title, when the block is mined, the miners add all the unconfirmed transactions in the mempool with a total that does not exceed max block size and thus you get one confirmation. Mining more blocks above it increases the number and so on.
1638  Other / Beginners & Help / Bitcoin Mining difficulty VS price on: February 27, 2023, 03:27:55 PM
Yesterday, Bitcoin mining difficulty increased to ATH after that, I read a lot of analyzes linking them to an increase in the possibility of a correction in prices. Is there any link between them? and mining difficulty will effect on prices?

1640  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Serously You Label Your Metal Seed Storage Plate?? on: February 19, 2023, 07:26:34 PM
But if you are not hiding it, just putting it someplace 'safe' them having a logo is just not a good idea.

-Dave
Why not try CRYPTOSTEEL CAPSULE SOLO it takes up less space, does not carry a logo, and can be easily hidden.Click to see image
and you can buy something like this from ebay without any logo  Click to see image

There are some services that provide you with templates to hide these Metals in the form of a book, a cup of tea, a souvenir photo, a pen and many other forms. If you are interested, you can give you links to some of these services.
