1621  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia: Supreme Court Bans “LGBT Movement” as “Extremist” on: December 05, 2023, 09:57:46 AM
I'm not very knowledgeable about Russian affairs, but as regards banning an LGBT movement, in the country, if majority of Russians, are in support of it, then we can put it on democracy. If the core values of most Russians, are against LGBT, then it's better that gays in that country, to move to other countries that are LGBT friendly. Personally I'm against LGBT, because I think that it's unnatural and should be discouraged, sometimes I wonder that what if people begins to have carnal knowledge with their pets, in the name that it's their sexual preference, will the society applaud them? So what I'm saying in essence is that in a democracy, let the will of the people prevail, if the majority embraces gay rights, then it's all good, if not, the let the gay LGBT community respect the wish of the majority by relocating to many LGBT friendly countries. My apology if I offend anybody by my personal opinion, at least I have a right to it.
1622  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are bitcoin investors violators? on: December 05, 2023, 08:35:45 AM
According to what I know, in most countries there are no clear laws and all accusations are made using anti-money laundering or tax evasion laws, especially if we are talking about amounts exceeding 10k USD.
If your country prohibits Bitcoin, do not sell and adhere to the laws. However, if there are no clear laws, it is better to stay away from trading with large amounts and to be within the circle of those you trust.

This is true, like in my country, many citizens ignorantly think that bitcoin is banned, but this is a lie, it is only the central bank, that prohibits banks from facilitating crypto transactions. We have many exchanges that are doing their businesses without any problems. In fact this misconception about ban is affecting the adoption of bitcoin, in my country, because they'll think that they'll break the law if they engage in anything cryptocurrency transactions. So for bitcoin lovers in countries that are not bitcoin friendly, they should try and find out if it's a total ban or if it has certain restrictions, like in the case of Nigeria.
1623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Manifesto on airdrops trivialization on: December 05, 2023, 07:41:13 AM
I have never participated in airdrops but after reading so much about them here, I have come to the conclusion they are a waste of time. The amount of money and effort that anyone needs to spend to get a few tokens is not worth it. Unless the value of the airdrop which is bigger than the effort and money one needs. Those airdrops that do come with social media activity are only given to those who can get more users so it is for me, a lottery as there is zero transparency. The last one which is given free of cost are the ones that rarely make it to the exchange.
Same here, I have decided never to participate in any airdrop. Most of them I participated are still in my wallet and I can't withdraw. So of which reason do I need to own something that what nothing. Sometimes they will still need you to unlock it with your money.

I've not participated in an airdrop before, never really caught my attention, and thanks to the feelers here, I'm not sure that I'll be engaging in it. As OP noted the early intention of airdrops have been hijacked by scams now, I hear thousands of influencers are announcing airdrops for scam project it's, not a good trend to follow. Sad to also here from this quote that you have airdrops in your wallet that you can't withdraw, so what's the essence of it.
1624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AN OVERVIEW OF GAMING PROJECTS. on: December 04, 2023, 05:04:03 PM
Being a staunch enthusiast of the gaming crypto ecosystem, I'm often inclined to new gaming projects with good usecases and tokenomics. Personally, I feel they've perceived potential for considerable growth. I've been doing some research and I feel I must have missed out on a few. Please, if you've any on your radar, do well to recommend so I can add to my watchlist, Thanks.

You claimed you have looked into some of these Games, but you failed to list those you have on your radar but looking for new ones, if you want to do your research on Gamefi bucket I will advise you go to Coinmarketcap or Coingecko, click the category button and click the Gamefi buttons so many under the radar projects, look for those that the team is still active and work on releasing updates on their projects or those that received huge VC money then but are currently undervalued below their ICO price.

Not really into games, but your direction can Help the OP, other game enthusiasts and hopefully me, i might develop the interest. Guess I now know where to go if I need to game, Conmarketcap, is a place of crypto information for me, thanks that you've added another feather for me to visit it. Interests varies and I'm quite envious about how you folks talk about the many crypto games. Guess I'm curious enough now to give it a try, hopefully to be looking forward to new updates, if it catches my interest, then it'd be real fun.
1625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Using AI for betting predictions on: December 04, 2023, 04:05:26 PM
I think that A1 can function better on present things like helping you to modify what you're trying to achieve, directing you on how to do things better. But not so much for future occurrences, it'll just have to rely on probability of numbers to arrive at answers, which can not be accurate. If it's sports bet, I guess it'd be better to avoid A1, because it'll probably rely on numbers scores, while you as a person knows the players and their capabilities, so you're better off without it. Unless the abilities of players in a game in imputed in it.
1626  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Phishing scam on (exchanges) altcoins addresses on: December 04, 2023, 03:27:34 PM
In fact dis scam matter no be play play thing, who dem never scam before fit no too understand the feeling of how e de be. Thanks OP for bringing this your experience to share with us for here, so dat dos of us wey never experience di scam attempt go know how fa. Scams for exchanges, even for wallets don too plenty now, for beginners and help board, where I go make post, one OP de share im experience on how scammers de impersonate trust wallet, wey im de use to de send am phishing mail, say make im do kyc. Imagine KYC for none custodial wallet, plenty newbies go fall for dat kind scam, including dis scam wey senior man don share for us.
1627  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trust wallet KYC verification Phishing mail. Beware! on: December 04, 2023, 01:53:43 PM
Thanks for bringing this to the limelight, the activities of scammers are increasing and becoming more sophisticate, impersonating individuals and organizations to scam their victims. It's really overwhelming, people needs to be properly informed, so they won't fall victims to theses criminals.

What attracted me to this thread is the mention of trust wallet, I thought that it's been compromised. I've been trying to send btc for something now through my trust wallet, and it keeps telling me transaction error, due to UTXO dust, it's very frustrating. Please I'll appreciate any help on how to remove this dust UTXO.
1628  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you deal with the exponential appreciation of Bitcoin? (for the oldest on on: December 04, 2023, 01:08:18 PM
Are you asking if we feel any regrets in buying btc even in a relatively low price?

well for me i don’t like to dwell on the past i truly believe that late is better than never maybe i have thought about what would have been different if i had bought btc at its early age once or twice but i have no doubts that btc will still increase in price so i’m just happy that i got to hold btc right now using my money

It's true that we should not dwell on the past when there is so much to look forward to in the future, this is why we must make every moment to count for positive things. If I were into bitcoin, and had bought it at very cheap price in those early days, and if I sold it and used the profit for something worthy, I'll look back on the achievement from the profit and feel fulfilled. Nobody knows the future, so what if the early buyers had accumulated and bitcoin became worthless today, won't they have regrets of not selling when it appreciated then?
1629  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who should own a demo account? on: December 04, 2023, 11:44:40 AM
Not using a Demo trading account is considered a form of arrogance, and thus a trader will end up thinking that he understands everything about the market and suddenly loses everything. Therefore, as long as you want to trade, learn from everyone, listen to everyone, and try your plan in Demo accounts, and then you will get a better vision than investing without thinking.

There are uncertainties in cryoto trading, because of the risk of loses, therefore it is not a bad idea to have a demo account to try new experiments. Especially for newbies in trading, they need to start with demo accounts, to familiarize themselves with the outcome of readings, how easy it is to lose everything in a very short time. Although the disadvantage of demo account will be that the traders using it might not put in the seriousness required for actual trading, because even if they lose, it won't be real coins. So if a trader has to use a demo account, let him put all the mental work that real trading requires.
1630  Other / Politics & Society / Re: id2020.org - Get your digital ID and be a world citizen! on: December 04, 2023, 10:29:06 AM
Anything is possible in this advanced technological era, things that were only imagined 50 years back are now manifesting today, like making video calls with someone in a faraway continent, to recently having a decentralized digital currency that has no boundaries, being bitcoin.  But having said all this, I don't think that nations will consent to having a universal identity for world citizenship, for one simple reason that all of them are not united. Need I mention names of countries in this world that are sworn enemies, or power tussle to be identified as the most powerful nation on earth.

I think that countries and individuals can only exist interdependently with each other, socially and economically and still retaining their rights to sovereignty. So in essence I don't think that digital ID for world citizenship is possible, at least not in this generation.

1632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Zugacoin vs bitcoin. on: December 04, 2023, 06:45:39 AM
So what do you guys think was the cause of suden dip of zugacoin?
Anyone who tries to market a project to you and highlights or tells you the developers/creators/teams are christians or Muslims, know it's a scam waiting to happen.

BTW, it's abominable to compare Bitcoin with Zugacoin.

Real sad that people will desecrate their religion just to deceive the people in same Faith, to buy into a scam project. Karl Max, said that religion is the opium of the masses, and people will ignorantly believe anything sold in the name of their religion.

This means that Zugacoin, was designed to fail from the beginning, after the owner must have emersed wealth from unsuspecting victims, most of whom probably bought into the scam project because of religion. You can't compare this with bitcoin, being the first cryptocurrency, that was created to be decentralized and has proven it's worth over the years in the crypto space.
1633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top altcoin that you won't buy anymore on: December 03, 2023, 07:24:38 PM
actually I don't have any restrictions on what altcoins I should buy, and what I shouldn't. it all depends on the circumstances and situation. However, personally, apart from bitcoin I only focus on Ethereum and BNB in my portfolio. Apart from that, I don't have any interest in holding large quantities considering that the halving could affect prices higher, so I focus on collecting the coins in the portfolio that I have. However, if things change, I might add some other potential coins. What is clear, I will not buy altcoins that have no development from past to present, or have experienced a decline and even tend to be scams, usually it is a list of altcoins that are not among the popular coins, and have a very small community.

You just named my top three crypto coins, bitcoin at the very top, then ethereum and bnb, although with all the recent saga in binance, bnb is a little in question for now, but I'm  still positive that the coin will not be affected. Not a fan of altcoins much, but from the feelers that I'm getting, I hear that litecoin, is not as promising as it was before, might just be speculation, but I won't put my money on it now. For new altcoins, it doesn't matter their names, I hear they're very profitable in the short term, but also time bombs, I wouldn't go near them.
1634  Economy / Economics / Re: The power of investment choices on: December 03, 2023, 03:03:48 PM
If you ask me I will say only buy Bitcoin but I see why latecomers are attracted elsewhere, there are other cryptocurrencies with unique features & potential for large growth. Diversification is key for some people, It is advisable to research & understand the potential of different cryptocurrencies considering factors such as technology, adoption & market trends. Each cryptocurrency offers different opportunities & risks so a balanced investment strategy that includes a mix of cryptocurrencies may be more beneficial for some in the long run.

I'm a newcomer and I share old timers believes, just like yours, that bitcoin remains the crypto coin that I can put my money in and go to sleep. It has proven it's worth as the pacesetter in the crypto market, it dictates the pace that others thread. Altcoins were painted like plagues to me before now, I still have a little of that phobia till today about buying them, but with my increased knowledge, I know that it's not all altcoins that are potential "shitcoins". I look forward to buying some top altcoins now, to cash in with my bitcoin, because I know that bitcoin bull run will make them to be profitable too. New projects can be more profitable but it's not for me, I like to minimize my loses.

1635  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Im TIRED of SCAM exchanges - is there an verified list on: December 03, 2023, 01:29:35 PM
Why go further down the ladder when you can choose from top exchanges that have good reputations. When it comes to crypto affairs, whether it's crypto coins or exchanges, I go with the ones that come highly recommended, because from my observation there are lots of scam altcoins, so it's not surprising that there'll be scam exchanges too. Except these unpopular exchanges have something unique and different to offer, it's best to stick with trusted exchanges like binance, kucoin and other established exchanges.
1636  Other / Politics & Society / Re: War in world questions on: December 03, 2023, 12:50:22 PM
There had been lots of speculations that world war 3 is going to start from the war between Russia and Ukraine but till now we have not seen anything like that. The world is still going to last longer than we imagine.
World war 3 is not going to start now so we don't have to be in pacnic at all. Freedom will dominate and the world is going to embrace peace again through negotiations between world countries.

People talk about world war 3 like it's a latest model of video game that's about to be launched or some upcoming blockbuster movie, that's about to premiere soon. I guess it's ignorant people that lives in peaceful counties that will speak about war like it's a cool thing. Anytime that two countries are in conflict or war, some people will use it as a propaganda to predict ww3, I think that this is a very sad development which should be discouraged. Even when one or two developing countries are having conflicts, same prophets of doom will speculate how powerful nations are backing each country, and how it can escalate to ww3. My information to this set of people is that if ww3 were to start now, it'll reach their peaceful domain.
1637  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I'm looking for sites with good sports predictions on: December 03, 2023, 11:24:00 AM
Please recommend good sites with quality sports predictions and detailed analyses of predictions

I'd recommend poking around on Google first.  There's tons of websites with sports picks and break downs.  When deciding which one to use, think about what sports you wanna track and how in-depth you want them to go.

Out of curiosity, what kinds of sites have you tried so far? Was there anything in particular you didn't love or found lacking about their coverage and predictions? Knowing what hasn't worked for you might help us to give you better alternatives.

I guess that I'm such an amateur in gambling that I've not even considered that there should be sports predicting sites. I always thought that the guess work is personal or with people who have the same interest in gambling. It would really be nice to visit these sites on Google to see how they help in predictions and how accurate their predictions are after a game.

True, OP should have been specific with the kind of game that he's into it's gambling, and if he has tried any sites that perhaps didn't give him accurate predictions. Maybe he just needs a site that predicts different types of games, anyways I'm eager to learn with him.
1638  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing altcoins now or during halving? on: December 03, 2023, 09:17:55 AM
It depends on when I can avail them but if I invest, I'd do it before the halving happens. Just as bitcoin does, most of the altcoins are also going to move anyway after Bitcoin's reaction after the halving. If you have a better choice and you're able to buy at the same season then that's much better. You'll also DCA just as what everyone does with Bitcoin, if you are able to do so with altcoins and you should have done it before the halving for actual Bitcoin so you don't miss both ends.

I also think that it's best to do most of our cryoto buying before halving, so we can better position ourselves for the aftermath of it. After halving should be a time to wait for ATH, despite how the market trends, it'll only be a matter of time before bull run happens. Altcoins closely follow bitcoin trends, so for me if now is a good time to accumulate bitcoin, it is also advisable for me to accumulate some top altcoins, that'll be profitable too during bitcoin, bull run.
1639  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: If you were to convert your Bitcoin (BTC) to Fiat (NGN)…. on: December 03, 2023, 08:27:11 AM
This topic is confusing and there is no connection between the topic title and the main post itself,  from the title you picture a misleading message that makes it look as if you are looking for how to convert your Bitcoin to naira, but while reading the main thread, I also discovered that you are talking about bitcoin accumulations and mode or method of investment in Bitcoin and how late you are in your Bitcoin accumulation journey.

OP na newbie, so na learning process im de, I believe say with time im go de get im perfection small small. So make im just take note for dis one say di subject of im topic get a different meaning from di content, but all di same we get di meaning of wetin im de try talk.

My take for di matter be say now na very good time to de accumulate plenty bitcoin, because after halving next year na serious bull run go follow, and investors go cash in plenty profit. But at di same time if we no get di money to accumulate am, we no go kill ourselves or go steal because we must accumulate bitcoin. Di most important thing be say we don de informed of di financial benefit of holding bitcoin, especially as we de enter ATH. Wetin sweet me pass for bitcoin investment matter be say im no get a price tag wey person suppose take start, na as your power reach na im you go take start to de hold am. Small small you go de accumulate am and before you know you don hold plenty plenty bitcoin, be dat.
1640  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: X.com (Twitter) is approving phishing website ads, beware on: December 03, 2023, 07:14:25 AM
Good information. Thank you.
This is not limited to only X. It is rampant on other social media platforms as well. There is nothing that the owners can do. The best is to advice users to be careful of clicking and visiting untrusted websites. Another way is for others users to report these scam websites just as you have done.

I don't think that there's much that X,com can do about this, it's a public domain, therefore the good, bad and the ugly all have access to their service. Besides this problem is not peculiar to them, any public domain like Facebook, WhatsApp, telegram and the rest of them are also  hubs for this scammers to advertise their evil deeds. The only thing that we can do is to inform our loved ones to be on the lookout for these phishing website ads on social media, to also bring the information to groups that we belong to, so people can be informed and avoid these traps.
